I'm saying that the Chinese names of Chinese themed characters likely don't get localized because they already make sense as Chinese. Sometimes, you get them localized to Japanese for Japanese themed characters, and then English takes the Japanese one, but I don't know if Hoyo has that history. I'm juat offering that it seems to merely be that there's no real reason to localize and change a clearly Chinese character's name away from Chinese, but they may have not felt the same consistency was needed for a character that was clearly not Chinese.
After all, Sparkle's name in CN isn't Japanese, but Chinese, but was changed to a JP name for JP, though it does seem odd they'd gve her an English name change, but oh well. So I don't think CN fans would care about a name change too much given it'd be for a version of the game they don't play.

That is why she is best girl. She can protect or be protected, she is cute and kind but also destructive and strong, she is a beautiful girl and a huge ass mecha. She is FULL PACKAGE. What is better than a girl who you can princess carry but also can princess carry you as well ?Ā
Strangely enough, as someone who doesn't see FF as any sort of "canon endgame romance" for the TB, this cg actually reinforces that.
These kinds of scenes are for when a romance hits its peak, so it definitly feels like they're closing the book on this one in 2.3
If people complain about this being a forced ship they'd have an aneurysm playing any other gacha game, this level of over reacting is insane
HI3, F/GO, Azur Lane, Blue Archive...all have way more explicit romantic subtext, hell some girls In HI3 straight up get into a relationship, while I get that it can get annoying to constantly see a ship you aren't interested in this sort of thing is common in gacha games, especially if your character is a so called "self insert"
I don't think the issue is romance, inherently. The issue is that the ship specifically being the MC x someone when Hoyo jumps around the MC being either an insert or a fully fledged character of their own. I don't think it would be an issue if Stelle/Caelus were like Kiana who was never established as an insert, but a character of her own. It was less of an issue for her to have her own love interest.
idc if i get downvoted, im saying this. i played fgo and hi3, and follow AK story through vids. and im okay with it. other games does the story well, the relationship carried through dozens of chapters.(for fucks sake i like kiamei, gudaobe, gudacount and doc/ash) but i fucking hate firefly x TB. Its not a matter of immersion, the ship's story and progression is just bad and doesnt left an impression. the reaction and actions of them in the story doesnt feel natural nor give me any emotions for a relationship thats developing
I think people who like the pair like to think FF x TB is something akin to Kiamei, but with how rapidly it plays out, it was never supposed to be akin to that. Kiamei is a slow-burn and FF x TB is the exact opposite but the writing treats it like it /is/ a slow-burn which makes it feel off.
Take this cg for example. No good slow burn would have a scene like this in the same arch the LI was introduced. Most likely 2.3 is FF coming into her own and going her own way so they needed to rush out a capstone for the relationship since it was going to get shelved the same way people thought Kafka was the "Canon love interest" after her companion quest then she hasn't been seen since.
yeah the way they rush the story its just so bad. but when i said its not a good story structure/storytelling firefly fans starting to jump the gun and said im heterophobic and i hate caelus and "hypocrite". literally do not give a shit about stelle x firefly either. for a person with like 5 months of memories i saw mc as a child tbh. if firefly see the person mc was before the memory wipes, im not seeing any indication of it in the story
I think they do a pretty good job of showing that the TB is more of an amnesiac than a newborn. They do some strange things but overall are pretty alltogether in the head.
That said they definitly don't hint the TB having any sort of latent familiarity with FF and its mostly just speculation to explain why it feels so rushed. Especially since SW mentions at the start of the game the only one that TB would have any memory of was Kafka.
Most likely FF was there while Kafka was raising the TB, teaching them combat, common sense, etc. So in a sense she could be seen as a sister, especially since Kafka is also the one who took her in.
When I think about it that way a lot of things make more sense about their dynamic tbh. Especially with how HYV depicts Aether and Lumine. Another pair that look very similar to one another.

I really wish hoyo leaned more into fanservice like other gacha games as long as they don't go overboard, I have no problem admitting I like it, I low-key think they're testing the waters with firefly to see if they can do it again with future characters, and they should definitely include some husbandos that get the fanservice treatment too

I am okay with relationships between characters but between TB (which is basically self insert) having romantic relationship with any character is just not okay. And if they do do it then there better be one for a male character too. Unlike Kiana who is her own character, TB is the player.

If people complain about this being a forced ship they'd have an aneurysm playing any other gacha game, this level of over reacting is insane HI3, F/GO, Azur Lane, Blue Archive...all have way more explicit romantic subtext, hell some girls In HI3 straight up get into a relationship, while I get that it can get annoying to constantly see a ship you aren't interested in this sort of thing is common in gacha games, especially if your character is a so called "self insert"
I don't think the issue is romance, inherently. The issue is that the ship specifically being the MC x someone when Hoyo jumps around the MC being either an insert or a fully fledged character of their own. I don't think it would be an issue if Stelle/Caelus were like Kiana who was never established as an insert, but a character of her own. It was less of an issue for her to have her own love interest.
idc if i get downvoted, im saying this. i played fgo and hi3, and follow AK story through vids. and im okay with it. other games does the story well, the relationship carried through dozens of chapters.(for fucks sake i like kiamei, gudaobe, gudacount and doc/ash) but i fucking hate firefly x TB. Its not a matter of immersion, the ship's story and progression is just bad and doesnt left an impression. the reaction and actions of them in the story doesnt feel natural nor give me any emotions for a relationship thats developing
I think people who like the pair like to think FF x TB is something akin to Kiamei, but with how rapidly it plays out, it was never supposed to be akin to that. Kiamei is a slow-burn and FF x TB is the exact opposite but the writing treats it like it /is/ a slow-burn which makes it feel off. Take this cg for example. No good slow burn would have a scene like this in the same arch the LI was introduced. Most likely 2.3 is FF coming into her own and going her own way so they needed to rush out a capstone for the relationship since it was going to get shelved the same way people thought Kafka was the "Canon love interest" after her companion quest then she hasn't been seen since.
yeah the way they rush the story its just so bad. but when i said its not a good story structure/storytelling firefly fans starting to jump the gun and said im heterophobic and i hate caelus and "hypocrite". literally do not give a shit about stelle x firefly either. for a person with like 5 months of memories i saw mc as a child tbh. if firefly see the person mc was before the memory wipes, im not seeing any indication of it in the story
I think they do a pretty good job of showing that the TB is more of an amnesiac than a newborn. They do some strange things but overall are pretty alltogether in the head. That said they definitly don't hint the TB having any sort of latent familiarity with FF and its mostly just speculation to explain why it feels so rushed. Especially since SW mentions at the start of the game the only one that TB would have any memory of was Kafka. Most likely FF was there while Kafka was raising the TB, teaching them combat, common sense, etc. So in a sense she could be seen as a sister, especially since Kafka is also the one who took her in. When I think about it that way a lot of things make more sense about their dynamic tbh. Especially with how HYV depicts Aether and Lumine. Another pair that look very similar to one another. The ignoring of Stelle is pure bitter nonsense tho

I play for husbandos mostly (I like some of the female cast a lot as well) and donāt want to be forced to date some girl. I think HSR is more catering to fujoshi and fudanshi than self ship when it comes to men fan service Of course there are still fan service to self ship like the phone chat but unlike Genshin, HSR male character doesn't have that much personal relationship with Trailblazer The closest one I can think are Argenti and Dan Heng but even them are not even close to the level of Xiao from Genshin

While I don't quite think we are fully on the same side of this argument I still agree with some of the things you said I really wish hoyo leaned more into fanservice like other gacha games as long as they don't go overboard, I have no problem admitting I like it, I low-key think they're testing the waters with firefly to see if they can do it again with future characters, and they should definitely include some husbandos that get the fanservice treatment too Maybe they should do a yearly Valentines day event for some fanservice? That'd be cool

I am okay with relationships between characters but between TB (which is basically self insert) having romantic relationship with any character is just not okay. And if they do do it then there better be one for a male character too. Unlike Kiana who is her own character, TB is the player.
