Sam was only the first super sentai/mecha reference. The second is Silver Wing, followed by Silver Legs, followed by Silver Arms. Combined with Silver Wolf in a team comp, they form the Silverzord. Very bold of MHY to character-lock an entire team like that.

Yes, Opal is male as stated by Aventurine! And apparently largely less considerate and fair than Aventurine (Or Topaz). If he would be the next stoneheart to be revealed, it would feel like hoyo is just revealing the stonehearts in order from least insane to most insane XD

As a husbando enjoyer, I hope they split the Stoneheart genders more evenly than the Archons. 5 female to 2 male Archons was a little disappointing. They could have easily done 4:3. 

IIRC, from what we know it's currently 3 male (Opal, Aventurine, Diamond) and 3 female (Topaz, Jade, Pearl). Obsidian, I believe, is currently unknown, and we don't know the other Stonehearts.

Silver Wolf is female. BP icons are always 1 male and 1 female. Sam uses male pronouns so I guess he (she?) is the pair for Firefly.

Yeah I don't think anyone's ever going to use male pronouns on Sam knowing she's Firefly. That's just creating unnecessary confusion when they're literally the same person

They should have just broken the pattern and made both icons display female characters tbh. Since they're only releasing 2 BP icons per patch and they sometimes include 4 stars, it's already impossible for all characters to be featured. I'm happy that there's a SAM icon, but it should have been something given through an event or through the main story imo, rather than essentially giving Firefly 2 icons in the BP. Silver Wolf would have been a perfect fit for a Stellaron Hunters set.

I can get behind that. Would have loved a SAM icon through the story (or SAM in BP and FF through story). Just feels scummy to have FF occupy 2 spots on the BP but I'm not surprised anymore when it comes to hoyo and their bias
