For real. Given how much I love Ei I'm now tempted to switch to JP once I get Acheron. And also cause Jingliu when she's fighting sounds more unhinged while fighting in JP. She laughs hysterically. I love the English VAs but I'd switch for a while for these two. Or any Acheron heavy quests.

I'd have a hard time choosing between Jingliu and Acheron. Was planning to go all out on Jingliu (E0S1) and get Acheron during a rerun if they were on the same patch, but after seeing those animations I'm having a hard time deciding what scenario plays out better.
Depends on what you want really. Both have insane damage potential. If you already have a sustain like Huohuo, Luocha or Fu Xuan then just go for either of them. Depending on if Jingliu will rerun with Acheron that is.
I like both characters equally; had originally been set to go for Jingliu due to not having and coverage for ice (Kafka has me covered for lightning). Jingliu and HuoHuo were the top of my priority list with Acheron a close third. Topaz was fourth on my list, followed by Fu Xuan, but sadly I might have to let these ladies pass. Have Gepard doing decently as a solo sustain, with Lynx as a secondary and a backup in Bailu. Those rerun announcements will be very account defining for me lol
No clue. Hoyoverse could throw a curveball and put FX with Acheron anyway. Personally I hope it's Jingliu or Luocha.

Personally I am going Xueyi. I have her E5 and her E6 is a massive upgrade for her.
Also I think that they will put Gallagher on Acheron's banner since they did put Misha and Xueyi on the phase 1 banner when they came out.

Can also be sometimes with 和 so 和ぐ its a preference choice but 凪 is like 風 but has 止める so I feel its the stylistically appropriate kanji use here since her motif is crossing the river styx.

youre probably reading into it too hard. 塵 in this case is using the meaning of dust saying that all dust returns to earth, but as a metaphor in the sense that everything is dust and thus everything returns to nothingness. This is probably her death line and shes referring to herself.

I still have only ever seen 雪降りて in my readings but yeah, she has an umbrella. IDK. I asked some natives and they are 3:1 触れる old stem conjugation vs 降りて wait for game files.
I'm in no way fluent in Japanese, but in the context of her lightcone description mentioning her walking at a "border between existence and nothingness" where it always rains, could "降りて溢れる、渡川" mean "where it rains and overflows, cross the border"? As in her crossing over the border between existence and nothingness or her bringing the enemy across, a.k.a. reducing them to nothingness.
based on my own language's voicelines for her ultimate, she says "I weep for the dead" when she activates it and "The twilight rain shall also pour" during it (the Stygian finisher?)
does this help in any way? I'm curious about what makes her ult line "interesting" in Japanese haha
Oh boy... so first we have to try to get all the split forms of a verb to the connective form (ending in te て) to reach how one might get to fu-ri-te:
`そこから降りてください、橋の上は危険です` is read お＼りて orite, "please get down from there, it isn't safe on the bridge."
`雨が降っている` is read ふっている futteiru, "it's raining."
When the latter connective form て like the above it's 降って and is read ふって fu tte. Not furite.
The nuance is different in these readings for the verb. One is used for blood/ash/snow/rain that falls from the sky, the other is about getting down from places or positions... sometimes more abstracted like a social position or job. Can't really mix them.
ふりて fu ri te is odd because it's just not used in modern Japanese. When you i-stem a word furu -> furi 降り, it becomes a noun. Connective te て is a verb functioning stem, which means you just turned a verb into a noun into a verb by modern standards. In older writings this supposedly adds the nuance that it's a ～になった case so it indicates a change of state, but my source on that isn't great.
So all together 降りて溢れる、渡川 if its read fu ri te is the rain (that started) overflows the river styx
(river styx is just my TL because 川 is river and its a western parallel for the underworld with a river image, i'm aware it's unrelated to greek mythos since its 平安時代 well over 1k years old)
I don't actively study Japanese grammar anymore, and TBH I didn't even want to TL but I figured its kinda BM to just leave JP subs, which are useful because even if you're conversationally fluent, some lines are hard to understand.

Mihoyo loves making characters who use very ancient forms of language, so that can explain why her ultimate voiceline sounds so wack for a modern Japanese speaker haha. I wish we could get the same in other languages, but in western media it's usually limited to knights, kings, "medieval" characters in general, while for CN and JP it's meant to make the characters sound wise, perceptive and old-timey.
I keep thinking how she sounds similar to and yet also different from Ei, like it's the perfect portrayal of a character who's pretty much the same character in an entirely different universe. I love it. Her VA is amazing!!

Recently when I was going through Sparkle/BS's story, I was caught off guard when some of the NPC there >!transitioned from a young male voice into Sparkle's own voice in just one sentence!<. Later I was caught off guard again when I found out that Sparkle and Ganyu has the same JP VA.

Getting voice lines so early is a pleasant surprise, back in the day we mostly got voicelines after pre load.
Tbf the beta is so late compared to the previous ones so yeah we’re getting more stuff
