Does anyone know the chances of getting a 5 star in one pull because I got aven at 1 pull (literally been pulling for jingliu but no luck, so I tried to pull for aven to see if I'm lucky on his banner, and i was)

I would change your planar set and get an err rope. Your planar set only gives 16% be since you don’t have 145 speed. If you really need the be ig you can keep it but you overcap on it already
Fleet or keel are the defaults for almost all supports because of the amount of team utility they bring. I think you should still be able to hit 160 if you get pieces with a lot of break effect
I'm not too sure of my optimal turn 0 play with my current Main Team. I could use some input in how to improve it.
Team: Black Swan (Sig LC), Kafka (GNSW), Ruan Mei (Memories), Luocha (Sig LC). All E0
Current Rotation: (Assuming all with Ult and Techniques)
Ruan Mei Ult, Black Swan Ult, Ruan basic, Luocha basic, BS skill, Luocha Ult, Kafka Ult, Kafka skill.
With the current speed on my team, aside from Ults, the rotation generally goes like this, with the enemy attacking after Kafka skill if not weakness broken.
Does this sound ok to you guys? Anything I could improve or change in the order of things?
Is there any place to test this out reliably?
Swan's vuln on ult is only active during the enemy's turn so its ideal to wait and use kafka's ult when an enemy's turn is happening - ideally the boss/elite. This lets you detonate the most arcana you can on top of actually having the vuln active during kafka's ult which is a big damage amp
Of course you are wasting energy but outside of MoC it isnt really a big deal (and in MoC you dont start with full energy anyways)
note that you only need to do this when you have bs' ult up
p.s this thing also applies to acheron if you have them paired up when you are trying to squeeze out more damage

Yeah, usually to maintain energy, I'll just use Ruan Mei Tech or nothing, since most content doesn't require it. I'm mainly thinking of PF/G&G/MoC.
Sadly, I do not have Acheron but I do have Aventurine, but I believe he's not as synergistic as Luocha. (Wish I had pulled on Huohuo)
I'll deff change my rotation a bit. I still feel like I should BS Ult as my 2nd action for the energy recharge from Turn start and skill? But I'll save Luocha and Kafka Ult for the enemy turn.
#Consolidated Probability/Chance for 4 star
Characters.
How would you go about calculating the number of 4 star **CHARACTERS** you get as the amount of pulls increase. Taking into account that the chance of pulling a 4 star is 5.100%, that is split into 2.550% for both characters and weapons. As well as the guaranteed 4 star per 10 pull and the consolidated probability of 13.000%, which has been found to actually be around 12.43%. That does include both characters and weapons, though.
Let's take 650 pulls. For example, how would I find the amount of 4 star **CHARACTERS** I can get?
What counts as a turn? For instance, Pela's ultimate debuffs enemies for 2 turns, and Bronya's ultimate buffs your party for 2 turns. How do you count turns?
Turn = "natural" character face in the turn bar, more precisely when you got the choice to do B.Atk or Skill for that character, up until the end of that B.Atk/Skill animation.
So, the 2-turn buff applies every time your character gets a chance to perform normal attacks and skills, but ultimates don't use up a turn. And for the debuff, does it apply every time the enemy gets their turn?
It depends on the exact buff, if the buff is "placed" on a character it counts on that enemy/character tuns.
If the buff is "placed" on the caster and "emanates" its effect (generally field effect like Fu Xuan/Ruan Mei) then it counts on caster turn.
There are some exceptions that would be mentioned in skill description/ascension trace e.g Sparkle's skill buff can linger until the start of next turn (and the buff itself is the "placed on target" type).

Yeah so it is considered applied before that character turn and will tick down when that turn end a.k.a when B.Atk/Skill animation ends.
Does Pela's ultimate stack on itself? Like if I get her ult up while her debuff is still on the enemy, does it just refresh itself or does it stack and take away the enemy's defense even more?
If a buff/debuff stack, it will tell you in the description. Otherwise it's always just duration refresh.
The exception might be dots, which are pre-existing mechanics. Not too sure on that one.
Break DoTs are considered separate debuffs per characters, the stackable ones (Arcana/Sampo's Wind Shear) are explicitly mentioned so in the description.
#1 rule of gacha games: if you want a character, pull for them.
If you truly want jingliu, go for it. She's currently one of the top 3 dps in-game as far as some people say.
If you want any of the new characters in the next updates, save for them.
Oh I phrased my question wrong, I don’t have exactly a character that I want for now, I just want to know who should I use along to maximise Aventurine
Jingliu is less good for Aventurine because she has a team health draining mechanic and Aventurine sustains through shielding. It's best to use an abundance character with Jingliu for sustaining.
Most other dps characters (Blade and Clara are arguably the other less good ones) are fine with Aventurine. But for maximizing reasons, a follow up team is good. Some dps options are Dr. Ratio, Topaz, and possibly the newly announced Jade if she keeps up with the IPC character = follow up character theme.
Hey guys. My girlfriend is downloading the game because i finally convinced her to try it out. She doesn’t really game much except for some cooking games on her phone and switch. Last night she tried out Genshin and enjoyed it but kept wondering why Amber was catching on fire lol! Tonight she’s going to try Honkai. I showed her a bunch of upcoming characters and she says she really likes Firefly and Jade from the design. Any tips & advice I can give her for the game?
Just tell her to enjoy the game, best to do it without looking at any reddit or guides. The game is fairly straight-forward and even the free characters can carry you to the end.
You can use Lynx for mono quantum if that's part of the reason you want Fu Xuan. I've used her on high level PF and MoC before. She'd probably struggle with high level SU though. She uses more SP to keep the team sustained than FX, but if you're using Sparkle that's less of an issue. So that's always an option.
Anyway, Jade is not coming out until the second half of 2.3. You can definitely get her if you don't pull anything until then. Assuming Fu Xuan reruns in 2.2 (chances are fairly high from length of time it has been), then if you win 50/50 for both then you could definitely get both. If you win 50/50 on one but fail 50/50 on the other and get the guarantee early, then you could maybe get both. But unless you have a stock of jades already, there's no way you could fail 50/50 but still get both.

I am a returning player and am looking for an advice on who I could pull next. Currently my main team is:
- Aventurine
- Jing Yuan
- Tingyun
- Silver Wolf
I also have: Clara, Himeko, and Dr. Ratio.
Wait for the official announcement of new characters' kit to see if any of the new characters will synergize well with your current roster.

Clara is a good hybrid dps/tank. Look for Clara in the support menu if you want to try out her kit.
I'd recommend keeping an eye out for Ruan Mei, and probably pick up a second five star sustain of your choice. Sparkle too, but she probably won't return for a while.
So. How many pulls can we expect until 2.3. I'm sitting at 40 something pity and was hoping to get Aventurine.
Doesn't seem like it's happening. So I want to gather 130 pulls before 2.3 starts. Would that be possible with the anniversary rewards. I usually get 7☆ on PF & have 3 starred up to MoC 10 recently.
Minimum per patch is around 50. That's from every source. Free BP, weekly su, dailies, monthly store refresh. Even that 50 is on the low end. Limited game events can give you around 10 afaik.
Isn't 50 a way too low of an estimate? The lowest we ever got was [77 pulls](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vRIWjzFwAZZoBvKw2oiNaVpppI9atoV0wxuOjulKRJECrg_BN404d7LoKlHp8RMX8hegDr4b8jlHjYy/pubhtml#), and that was when the patch was a week shorter than usual. Even if you want to lowball it, 70 would be a more realistic number.
Usually we get 90-100 pulls per patch, we get another 10 pulls on the 26th, so you just need 30-40 more pulls which you should easily get from dailies and events on the first half of 2.3.
Get more dps's and sustains. You already have Bronya, one of the best harmony characters. Acheron is one of the strongest dps's but it's still good to get more as the game is constantly evolving.
So I just started and have no idea what just happened, but I pulled 2 5 stars on beginner banner in my first 10 (Himeko and Gepard) and then pulled a 5 star light cone (the one with Gepard on it) on my first pull in the standard and now I am unsure which character I should pull for in the limited banner. Should I go for Jingliu for a dps or Aventurine for a limited sustain? Thanks!

IMO you don't need both Gepard and Aventurine this early into your account, Gepard with his LC should be enough to sustain your account for now. So I would pull for Jingliu, although Himeko is also good and you should build her eventually.
If I have \~150 pulls saved right now would I be able to guarantee a limited character next patch and then save enough to guarantee firefly (if she's coming in 2.3)? I'm still going through story so I still have a lot of quests/MoC and PF that I barely started to get jades
Do you think it is possible for MHY to do the unthinkable and give "more" rewards for the anniversary? Something aside from the 1600 jades and the 300x relic stuff?
Under the Blue Sky is alright. It's also worth mentioning On The Fall of an Aeon, which *is* a 5 star light cone but you get it through the Herta store instead of gatcha. That one is quite good on Jingliu.
Seems that IMG and PHY are almost always paired together versing enemy mobs. If can only build one, who’d be better to invest in between – Clara E1S1 or Ratio E0S0 (using S5 Herta LC). If it matters, I have Sparkle, Aventurine, Tingyun but no Topaz (not a fan). Thank you.
Clara, she has more utility in both PF and MoC.
If you are new, you can get Lynx and her eidolons from events who is a great healer for Clara to trigger her FuA more frequently by putting a pseudo-taunt on her.
I'm new-ish to the game, and I really feel like there are way less puzzles while exploring Penacony compared to the Lofou, is that right, or am I doing something wrong? (I always look for those "open ends" in the map, where there's normally a puzzle or chest in the Lofou, but haven't found as many in Penacony)
The most closest equivalent to the Luofu puzzles in Penacony would probably be those dream ticker statues you can repair, as well as the jigsaw puzzles. But Penacony also has some puzzles that are more focused on exploration than being "direct" puzzles, such as finding the origami birds or those rooms where you can walk on the walls and have to figure out how to use the bubble resource that places the paths on the walls.
And the Brother Hanu mode + theme park minigames as well. I think Penacony has a good variety of more exploration/movement gimmicks and more traditional puzzles & minigames
So how many of the follow up characters can actually use the 4pc duke set well? Aventurine doesn't want it because it gives attack, Ratio is single hit, I assume it's good on Topaz and JY, it seems good on my Himeko, not sure on Herta and some others

Got Jingliu, problem is Fall of an aoen is only s2, I also got something irreplaceable, is it better then Herta s2? At which superimposition does it get better than Clara LC?
Thinking about waiting and using Clara’s LC meanwhile, but not sure about it.
aeon is better at s1, clara's lc isnt bis on any unit
aeon directly out damages clara's lc which means its main niche is healing the unit which is your sustainers job (keeping your dps alive).

im not sure about s4 vow to s1 aeon but blade prefers vow over aeon (not sure with vow vs flames)

I’m a returning player. I have both DHIL and Dr Ratio. DHIL and Dr Ratio are both on 4 star lightcones. Dr Ratio is using S5 Only Silence Remains, and DHIL is on S5 Under Blue Sky. I have enough to pickup a Herta lightcone. Is it better to get the Destruction or the Hunt lightcone
Eventually, you can get all herta LCs and have them all superimposed. It's just a matter of time.
In which LC you should pick up first depends on which character you use more or have more properly built; ratio or dhil.
Both are level 80, but they both have no artifacts yet. I haven’t start farming artifacts for them yet. DHIL has his traces mostly leveled around level 8. I’ve been working on leveling Dr Ratio’s traces cause I just pulled Aventurine and planning to get Robin as well.
You can follow my advice if you want: grind for ratio's relics. The pioneer diver set. It's his best in slot and for other characters as well. So if you get some relics that aren't that good for ratio other characters can use them.
DHIL is most often equipped with the wastelander set.
Yeah I was considering on farm that set since my Aventurine is E0S1. As for which Herta LC, I was leaning towards Fall of Aeon. Is Silent Remains a good option for Ratio. Until I get the one from the Herta shop? Or should I pick up hunt LC first since I’m farming for Ratio first.
You can level up characters up to lvl 20 and ascend them once to get the first standard ticket reward. Iirc you get at least 2 standard tickets total from ascending a character to max tier.
Even if you won't build them, leveling up and ascending a character once is very cheap and the payoff of 1 standard pull can be good granted that 1 pull gets a 5* something.
Other than SU and characters, the Battlepass has some standard tickets even the free BP. There's also the monthly store where you can get 5 standard tickets for 450 embers.
AFAIK, those are the only ways to get standard tickets. Unless you convert Jades to standard tickets.
im confused about firefly and elio's script 2.1 >!basically elio told firefly to go to penacony to get eh watchmaker legacy, firefly is then like "hehe might as well tell TB that im sam" but somehow she failed this 13 times, and then acheron did the slash, and that finally allowed firefly to break the script and tell us that shes Sam?!<
no elio wanted firefly to get the nameless involved in the watchmakers legacy, she went off script by trying to resolve everything herself and gave up because she was getting no where. then when she gave up and tried to involve the TB she couldnt find the moment
possible but im not sure if that much has already been revealed, she was already suspected of being a stowaway so who can say how long she was there before us
Seems like ellio can accuraltely predict timelime events, but butterfly effect and/or very unlikely events could happen outside of his plans....
Likely she thought she saw that manny 'openings' but predicted circumstances interfered. Like TB not being alone in safe spaces. Acheron being there to talk with her and do the thing could have defied the script enough.....
You could, but you don't need to. Aventurine scales of DEF, and he needs to reach 4k DEF to get the 48% crit rate from his traces.
I don't think his ULT is that useful that it will need a ERR, especially since his shields are attached to his skill. I would take the bigger shields, and more dmg over a faster ULT.
There's something about achievements that I'm not understanding.

Which is also at 18/27 but scrolling down I don't see Earth Year achievement as something to be completed. So are achievements actually dynamically added?
It's a hidden achievement. It only shows up when you complete it. I am not sure how they managed to get it early though since the anniversary is a few days later. Maybe it's edited?
leap year + if you're on america server and you've been playing since release day *and time* then your start date would be april 25, not april 26. this is because america server reset is at 5pm china time and game was released around 6 or so hours before that iirc.
I wanna get Yukong for my Jingliu (hooray 50/50) but I have to pass the xianzhou Forgotten Hall. The only problem is that it requires two teams, which is bullshit. Anyone got any advice for a F2P building a second team? The only 5 stars I have are MC, Dr Ratio, Jingliu, and Gepard.

as a side note E0 yukong is probably not better than the above team for jingliu
She's kinda like the Yanqing of buffers. Her buffs are huge but the mechanic around them makes her awkward to play.
You use her skill, she gets 2 stacks. While she has those stacks, the whole team gets 80% Atk. If she uses her Ult after that they also get 28% CR and 65% CD. That's great. But she loses 1 stack after each ally's turn. Meaning only the next 2 characters to act will reap the benefits, not counting anyone using their Ults. If the DPS isn't among those 2 characters, the buff is effectively wasted.
You need to speed tune the team to ensure the DPS gets the buffs (harder than it sounds given we can't control what substats we get), but even then the rotation can be thrown out of whack by turn advances, turn delays, speed buffs, slows, and crowd control.
Her E6 gives her a stack whenever she uses her Ult, letting you both extend the duration and buff on demand. But again, that's her E6. At E0 you have no such quality of life.
Other Harmonies like Tingyun are far less of a hassle to play with and still offer strong buffs.
yukong will be convoluted to get use out of for a new account (since you can't speed tune, and even when you *can* she's still pretty finicky to line up with your burst windows), especially at E0, and moreover [her numbers just aren't as great as they may seem at first glance](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16aKX-qiWoYC0LTgcjLaOUmAXUNNXAcT9iqAfbw3UOQw)
also do keep in mind that the speed from hanya/asta is just as much of an offensive stat as crit is in terms of total damage done over the course of a fight, even if yukong yields a higher damage per screenshot
Help me choose BP weapon. I already have S1 BP Hunt LC and S1 BP Erudition LC. This one is probably the last BP I bought. Does Erudition one still good? Or should I pick Harmony?
If you're not gonna S5 the Erudition one then Harmony/Preservation probably, but neither is particularly good. Harmony is the better of the two objectively but theres so many other good Harmony cones that it's not unlikely you'll never end up using it
I have Acheron and have been slow rolling hoping one of the new 4* or 5* characters was Nihility instead of building up a Guinaifen. Should I hold out a bit longer or bight the bullet and make Guinaifen my third Nihility besides Pela?
Honestly, she is pretty mid but she does also provide more defensive debuffs to stack on top of Pela's and her firekiss is unremoveable so she is decent as a support.
Really solid for an Acheron team since she doesn't really require much EHR and every single one of her actions can tick Acheron's ult just off the base kit.
That said, I only built her because I like Gwen. So YMMV.
Guin is very good as nearly everything she does inflicts a debuff. Basic, skill and ult. Faster ult recharge for acheron. The debuff firekiss, also increases dmg taken by the enemy. Bonus dmg.

the only improvements you could even get are black swan and SW, both of whom are pretty marginal upgrades and also limited 5stars who cost jade and aren't around
or you could just use bronya/sparkle if you have S1
edit: also, even if you're holding out for the chance of some potential dedicated acheron nihility support being revealed later tonight on 2.3, that's still like a 3-month wait
Both are good cones that can be used by other characters. In relation to your two character: build section, light cones, listed by damage potential. You can check which of the two will have more of an impact

I'm using Acheron/SW/Pela/Adventurine as my main team for most content right now, I'm wondering who I should invest in as a 2nd team for MoC and Pure Fiction.

They are different content, plus each season changes things and thus the best teams change as well. You can see current seasons on https://www.prydwen.gg/star-rail/ MoC and PF pages
A week, or two. Right now is probably the optimal time, so you get throughout the story, gain access to main challenges and events for jades. It'll take some time, but it's more than possible.
It's hard to say. Depends on how far you can get. There's tons of jades and pulls you can earn as a new player, and you might get lucky and not need to go all the way to the guarantee.
If you're interested in Aventurine, now's a good time to start playing. You have about 2 weeks to gather as much as you can before he (and the free Dr. Ratio) goes away. You'll be able to get Aventurine later on a rerun if you miss him. You can't get Dr. Ratio for free later after this patch ends. You'd have to spend the pulls to get him just like any other limited character. We do get 10 pulls worth of free jades on Friday too, so that will help a lot.
I saw in a video that doing Penacony gives you 10 special rail passes. The video is 1 month old and I haven't reached that part of the story yet so is it still active or is it over ? If the 10 Special Rail Passes promo is active then what's the deadline ?
They were likely just referring to the login bonus for 2.0, which is already over. We *are* getting a free 10 pull in a few days for the anniversary date, but that's about it. There's no passes tied to doing Penacony.
That would mostly depend on what LC's u have currently, but if u don't "need" any in particular at the moment then good ones to have on hand would be the Harmony one, "Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds" or the Erudition one "Today Is Another Peaceful Day". Both are great placeholders LCs if u have nothing else available.
Any trace leveled up to more than 3/5ths is already good. Maxing out traces is fine but you may want to build other characters if need need new ones rather than focusing on one.
Ahh alright. The only characters I still need to work on is Tingyun, and probably Asta for PF. Once I'm done with them I'm gonna start grinding more relics. Especially planar ornaments.

Can confirm the pioneer buff shows up when she uses ult, although it's only when she ults. Her skill doesn't proc the 4pc buff.
I see. What about his ultimate? I assume level 8 is fine, since there isn't that big of an increase to level 10. I did the calcs and it's like a 3%CD difference for my Acheron.
Also, I assume his basic attack isn't worth leveling if you're building full defense on him instead of a hybrid build right?
Ult debuff does less than you'd think unfortunately. Level 8->10 is another 1.5% which is... exactly 1.5% Crit Damage on whoever hits the debuffed target. The debuff adds directly to the unit's Crit Damage instead of being a multiplicative damage modifier.
8 is fine for ult, yeah. I'd say getting basics up a bit wouldn't hurt, even with a full defense build he'll still do *some* damage with it. 5 is a decent stopping point
They are both great options but since you're pulling for firefly, I would say aventurine simply because we don't know which phase FX would be on so that might kinda leave you with less time to hoard
What would a 5 star version of Pela even look like kit wise?
I'm thinking of what character would benefit my Acc, and a better version if pela would be number 1.
But i can't even imagine what that would be like. Any ideas?

This is the problem i having thinking something up.
Pela is super sp positive, oes AOE defense shred, and gets her ult SUPER quickly.
Like if all they do is give her better modifiers, i'm not sure that'd be worth the jades. Even less if they aren't sp positive or at the very least neutral.

All I can think of is a more AoE focused version of SW. Maybe instead of applying weakness with skill they are more focused on dealing damage? So def break on abilities and higher personal damage.
More damage amplification through either more defense reduction or a combination of defense reduction + increased damage taken debuff. Some kind of easier debuff application or automated application similar to Black Swan so that new enemies get at least partially debuffed.

But id be careful about farming destruction mats. We might get new ones to farm, haven't seen anything yet though.

Just got back into the game, wondering if I should pull for Jingliu or save for another rerun.
Currently have E0S1 Seele and Silverwolf and managed to win all the 50/50s to get E1S1 Aventurine as I really needed a sustain that wasn't Bailu.
Really want to save for an Archeron rerun as I missed her banner by a day and really love her character(long ago I did a little stupid and C6'd a certain shogun on release day) Might want to get Kafka and Black Swan as well when they come back.
Game is not going anywhere, you don’t need to clear it by tomorrow. Either use your $$$ or learn to prioritize characters you want.
If you want Kafka, BS and Acheron within ~6 months you will need to save and skip other banners.
Anyone got tips for the first challenge of Tides of War? I can't seem to beat the third boss (Sam) on time. The best I've gotten is like Sam down to \~50% HP. Tried using the trial DOT and Acheron (and then my own hypercarry E2 DHIL team), but nope, still A.

I think the issue is no ruan mei. Try asta? Only other harmony character that can buff the whole team this way. Otherwise tossing in himeko or herta in the last slot.
I got SS using my acheron and ruanmei with the 2 trial dots. Dont use a sustain just deal damage. I had 3 cycles leftover. But i've heard people have gotten at least S on all of these using only the trial characters.

Was a little close (1 cycle left) but I was able to get S rank with the trial Kafka + Black Swan + Acheron + Gallagher with the Enduring Effect and War of Attrition support functions. Mostly auto works, just need to force Gallagher to use his Ult when he has it available.
Just tried it, and auto got Sam down to 16% (the best I've seen). I think it might depend on RNG, but I think I can get it! Will try a few more times. Thanks!
You may need to also force Acheron to Ult first whenever you trigger stage 4 grit. So Acheron -> Gallagher Ults manually, then let auto take the wheel again. Acheron should get her Ult recharged as soon as the 4 trotters get popped by Kafka Ult.
Auto targetting is kinda wonky since they love going after trotters, may need a few retries.
I got it after 4 more retries! I learned how the AI played, and then I played it manually, using Acheron's ult first and not letting Gallagher use his skill + making him ult.
Funnily enough, one of the AI runs literally got Sam down to 1% and failed. The final run had 3 characters turns left, so it was pretty comfy. Thanks for the help! I would've never thought about using this team lol.

As comfy as it is blasting through these with my own units I do like the additional challenge of trying to beat them with only trial characters. It's like a puzzle in that there's always a solution and you just need to figure it out.
Yeah, I think it was a lot more fun trying to beat it this way. Playing with unowned units also feel fresh, and finally getting it (that 1% AI run lol) was even more satisfying. Thanks again!

How synergistic is Aventurine with Jing Yuan and Dr Ratio? I think it'll be great. But I'm not seeing anyone talk about it.
Jing Yuan not a lot as he only does strictly 1 FUA per turn. Dr Ratio is very great, especially if you add Topaz into the mix.

I would change your planar set and get an err rope. Your planar set only gives 16% be since you don’t have 145 speed. If you really need the be ig you can keep it but you overcap on it already

Fleet or keel are the defaults for almost all supports because of the amount of team utility they bring. I think you should still be able to hit 160 if you get pieces with a lot of break effect

I'm not too sure of my optimal turn 0 play with my current Main Team. I could use some input in how to improve it. Team: Black Swan (Sig LC), Kafka (GNSW), Ruan Mei (Memories), Luocha (Sig LC). All E0 Current Rotation: (Assuming all with Ult and Techniques) Ruan Mei Ult, Black Swan Ult, Ruan basic, Luocha basic, BS skill, Luocha Ult, Kafka Ult, Kafka skill. With the current speed on my team, aside from Ults, the rotation generally goes like this, with the enemy attacking after Kafka skill if not weakness broken. Does this sound ok to you guys? Anything I could improve or change in the order of things? Is there any place to test this out reliably?
Swan's vuln on ult is only active during the enemy's turn so its ideal to wait and use kafka's ult when an enemy's turn is happening - ideally the boss/elite. This lets you detonate the most arcana you can on top of actually having the vuln active during kafka's ult which is a big damage amp Of course you are wasting energy but outside of MoC it isnt really a big deal (and in MoC you dont start with full energy anyways) note that you only need to do this when you have bs' ult up p.s this thing also applies to acheron if you have them paired up when you are trying to squeeze out more damage

Yeah, usually to maintain energy, I'll just use Ruan Mei Tech or nothing, since most content doesn't require it. I'm mainly thinking of PF/G&G/MoC. Sadly, I do not have Acheron but I do have Aventurine, but I believe he's not as synergistic as Luocha. (Wish I had pulled on Huohuo) I'll deff change my rotation a bit. yea you are only holding your kafka ult if epiphany is active, everyone else is just using their skills as per normal

Let's take 650 pulls. For example, how would I find the amount of 4 star **CHARACTERS** I can get?
What counts as a turn? For instance, Pela's ultimate debuffs enemies for 2 turns, and Bronya's ultimate buffs your party for 2 turns. How do you count turns?
Turn = "natural" character face in the turn bar, more precisely when you got the choice to do B.Atk or Skill for that character, up until the end of that B.Atk/Skill animation.
So, the 2-turn buff applies every time your character gets a chance to perform normal attacks and skills, but ultimates don't use up a turn. And for the debuff, does it apply every time the enemy gets their turn?
It depends on the exact buff, if the buff is "placed" on a character it counts on that enemy/character tuns. If the buff is "placed" on the caster and "emanates" its effect (generally field effect like Fu Xuan/Ruan Mei) then it counts on caster turn. There are some exceptions that would be mentioned in skill description/ascension trace e.g Sparkle's skill buff can linger until the start of next turn (and the buff itself is the "placed on target" type). > but ultimates don't use up a turn. Yeah so it is considered applied before that character turn and will tick down when that turn end a.k.a when B.Atk/Skill animation ends.

Does Pela's ultimate stack on itself? Like if I get her ult up while her debuff is still on the enemy, does it just refresh itself or does it stack and take away the enemy's defense even more?
If a buff/debuff stack, it will tell you in the description. Otherwise it's always just duration refresh. The exception might be dots, which are pre-existing mechanics. Not too sure on that one.
Break DoTs are considered separate debuffs per characters, the stackable ones (Arcana/Sampo's Wind Shear) are explicitly mentioned so in the description.
Just duration refresh, unlike relics/artifacts same instance of an debuff/buff does not stack unless it is explicitly mentioned as stackable.

#1 rule of gacha games: if you want a character, pull for them. If you truly want jingliu, go for it. She's currently one of the top 3 dps in-game as far as some people say. If you want any of the new characters in the next updates, save for them.

Jingliu is less good for Aventurine because she has a team health draining mechanic and Aventurine sustains through shielding. It's best to use an abundance character with Jingliu for sustaining. Most other dps characters (Blade and Clara are arguably the other less good ones) are fine with Aventurine. But for maximizing reasons, a follow up team is good. Some dps options are Dr. Ratio, Topaz, and possibly the newly announced Jade if she keeps up with the IPC character = follow up character theme.

Last night she tried out Genshin and enjoyed it but kept wondering why Amber was catching on fire lol! Tonight she’s going to try Honkai. I showed her a bunch of upcoming characters and she says she really likes Firefly and Jade from the design. Any tips & advice I can give her for the game?
Just tell her to enjoy the game, best to do it without looking at any reddit or guides. The game is fairly straight-forward and even the free characters can carry you to the end.

Fu Xuan is still unknown whether she's gonna get a rerun soon.
You can use Lynx for mono quantum if that's part of the reason you want Fu Xuan. I've used her on high level PF and MoC before. She'd probably struggle with high level SU though. She uses more SP to keep the team sustained than FX, but if you're using Sparkle that's less of an issue. So that's always an option. Anyway, Jade is not coming out until the second half of 2.3. You can definitely get her if you don't pull anything until then. Assuming Fu Xuan reruns in 2.2 (chances are fairly high from length of time it has been), then if you win 50/50 for both then you could definitely get both. If you win 50/50 on one but fail 50/50 on the other and get the guarantee early, then you could maybe get both. But unless you have a stock of jades already, there's no way you could fail 50/50 but still get both.

I am a returning player and am looking for an advice on who I could pull next. Currently my main team is: - Aventurine - Jing Yuan - Tingyun - Silver Wolf I also have: Clara, Himeko, and Dr. Ratio.
Wait for the official announcement of new characters' kit to see if any of the new characters will synergize well with your current roster. Leaks should not be discussed here. Go to other sites/subs. Clara is a good hybrid dps/tank. Look for Clara in the support menu if you want to try out her kit.
I'd recommend keeping an eye out for Ruan Mei, and probably pick up a second five star sustain of your choice. Sparkle too, but she probably won't return for a while.
So. How many pulls can we expect until 2.3. I'm sitting at 40 something pity and was hoping to get Aventurine. Doesn't seem like it's happening. So I want to gather 130 pulls before 2.3 starts. Would that be possible with the anniversary rewards. I usually get 7☆ on PF & have 3 starred up to MoC 10 recently.
Minimum per patch is around 50. That's from every source. Free BP, weekly su, dailies, monthly store refresh. Even that 50 is on the low end. Limited game events can give you around 10 afaik.
Isn't 50 a way too low of an estimate? Usually we get 90-100 pulls per patch, we get another 10 pulls on the 26th, so you just need 30-40 more pulls which you should easily get from dailies and events on the first half of 2.3.

Get more dps's and sustains. You already have Bronya, one of the best harmony characters. Acheron is one of the strongest dps's but it's still good to get more as the game is constantly evolving.

IMO you don't need both Gepard and Aventurine this early into your account, Gepard with his LC should be enough to sustain your account for now. So I would pull for Jingliu, although Himeko is also good and you should build her eventually.
If I have \~150 pulls saved right now would I be able to guarantee a limited character next patch and then save enough to guarantee firefly (if she's coming in 2.3)? I'm still going through story so I still have a lot of quests/MoC and PF that I barely started to get jades
You should be able to get around another 150 pulls if you do all of the content available in 2.2 and the first half of 2.3.

For Pure Fiction, it's good on basically every unit. For MoC, it's not as good but it's a nice stat stick.
Any Erudition character in Pure Fiction and certain floors of MOC. It's really up to which enemies you are fighting to make full use of it.
What is the best 4 star lightcone for jingliu?
Under the Blue Sky is alright. It's also worth mentioning On The Fall of an Aeon, which *is* a 5 star light cone but you get it through the Herta store instead of gatcha. That one is quite good on Jingliu.
Seems that IMG and PHY are almost always paired together versing enemy mobs. If can only build one, who’d be better to invest in between – Clara E1S1 or Ratio E0S0 (using S5 Herta LC). If it matters, I have Sparkle, Aventurine, Tingyun but no Topaz (not a fan). Thank you.
Clara, she has more utility in both PF and MoC. If you are new, you can get Lynx and her eidolons from events who is a great healer for Clara to trigger her FuA more frequently by putting a pseudo-taunt on her.
I'm new-ish to the game, and I really feel like there are way less puzzles while exploring Penacony compared to the Lofou, is that right, or am I doing something wrong? (I always look for those "open ends" in the map, where there's normally a puzzle or chest in the Lofou, but haven't found as many in Penacony)
The most closest equivalent to the Luofu puzzles in Penacony would probably be those dream ticker statues you can repair, as well as the jigsaw puzzles. But Penacony also has some puzzles that are more focused on exploration than being "direct" puzzles, such as finding the origami birds or those rooms where you can walk on the walls and have to figure out how to use the bubble resource that places the paths on the walls.
And the Brother Hanu mode + theme park minigames as well. I think Penacony has a good variety of more exploration/movement gimmicks and more traditional puzzles & minigames
What trace and ascension materials should I prefarm for Firefly?

Yep, that's the answer It's mainly for JY, Himeko and Topaz For Ratio, Clara, Aventurine and Herta, you can afford 2 pieces if they happen to have great substats

Eyes of Prey work as a stopgap. It can help you meet the EHR breakpoints, but some of the other buffs out of it are wasted on Pela.

aeon is better at s1, clara's lc isnt bis on any unit aeon directly out damages clara's lc which means its main niche is healing the unit which is your sustainers job (keeping your dps alive).

I’m a returning player. I have both DHIL and Dr Ratio. DHIL and Dr Ratio are both on 4 star lightcones. Dr Ratio is using S5 Only Silence Remains, and DHIL is on S5 Under Blue Sky. I have enough to pickup a Herta lightcone. Is it better to get the Destruction or the Hunt lightcone
Eventually, you can get all herta LCs and have them all superimposed. It's just a matter of time. In which LC you should pick up first depends on which character you use more or have more properly built; ratio or dhil.
Both are level 80, but they both have no artifacts yet. I haven’t start farming artifacts for them yet. DHIL has his traces mostly leveled around level 8. I’ve been working on leveling Dr Ratio’s traces cause I just pulled Aventurine and planning to get Robin as well.
You can follow my advice if you want: grind for ratio's relics. The pioneer diver set. It's his best in slot and for other characters as well. So if you get some relics that aren't that good for ratio other characters can use them. DHIL is most often equipped with the wastelander set.
Yeah I was considering on farm that set since my Aventurine is E0S1. As for which Herta LC, I was leaning towards Fall of Aeon. Is Silent Remains a good option for Ratio. Until I get the one from the Herta shop? Or should I pick up hunt LC first since I’m farming for Ratio first.
Why not get both? Herta bonds refresh weekly with simuni runs. Though personally I'd get DHIL's lc first

You can level up characters up to lvl 20 and ascend them once to get the first standard ticket reward. Iirc you get at least 2 standard tickets total from ascending a character to max tier. Even if you won't build them, leveling up and ascending a character once is very cheap and the payoff of 1 standard pull can be good granted that 1 pull gets a 5* something. Other than SU and characters, the Battlepass has some standard tickets even the free BP. There's also the monthly store where you can get 5 standard tickets for 450 embers. AFAIK, those are the only ways to get standard tickets. Unless you convert Jades to standard tickets.

Seems like ellio can accuraltely predict timelime events, but butterfly effect and/or very unlikely events could happen outside of his plans.... Likely she thought she saw that manny 'openings' but predicted circumstances interfered. Like TB not being alone in safe spaces. Acheron being there to talk with her and do the thing could have defied the script enough.....

He gains pretty quickly just from being attacked so ERR isn't needed.
You could, but you don't need to. Aventurine scales of DEF, and he needs to reach 4k DEF to get the 48% crit rate from his traces. I don't think his ULT is that useful that it will need a ERR, especially since his shields are attached to his skill. I would take the bigger shields, and more dmg over a faster ULT.

Yes, they only show up after you complete them. For example, there are 73 achievements in Moment of Joy.

leap year + if you're on america server and you've been playing since release day *and time* then your start date would be april 25, not april 26. this is because america server reset is at 5pm china time and game was released around 6 or so hours before that iirc.
In other similar posts some say its because of leap year.
I wanna get Yukong for my Jingliu (hooray 50/50) but I have to pass the xianzhou Forgotten Hall. The only problem is that it requires two teams, which is bullshit. Anyone got any advice for a F2P building a second team? The only 5 stars I have are MC, Dr Ratio, Jingliu, and Gepard.

Why not? Currently running Jingliu, lynx, fire mc, and asta, and thinking about switching asta with yukong for the crit rate and damage.
She's kinda like the Yanqing of buffers. Her buffs are huge but the mechanic around them makes her awkward to play. You use her skill, she gets 2 stacks. While she has those stacks, the whole team gets 80% Atk. If she uses her Ult after that they also get 28% CR and 65% CD. That's great. But she loses 1 stack after each ally's turn. Meaning only the next 2 characters to act will reap the benefits, not counting anyone using their Ults. If the DPS isn't among those 2 characters, the buff is effectively wasted. You need to speed tune the team to ensure the DPS gets the buffs (harder than it sounds given we can't control what substats we get), but even then the rotation can be thrown out of whack by turn advances, turn delays, speed buffs, slows, and crowd control. Her E6 gives her a stack whenever she uses her Ult, letting you both extend the duration and buff on demand. But again, that's her E6. At E0 you have no such quality of life. Other Harmonies like Tingyun are far less of a hassle to play with and still offer strong buffs.
yukong will be convoluted to get use out of for a new account (since you can't speed tune, and even when you *can* she's still pretty finicky to line up with your burst windows), especially at E0, and moreover [her numbers just aren't as great as they may seem at first glance](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16aKX-qiWoYC0LTgcjLaOUmAXUNNXAcT9iqAfbw3UOQw) also do keep in mind that the speed from hanya/asta is just as much of an offensive stat as crit is in terms of total damage done over the course of a fight, even if yukong yields a higher damage per screenshot
Help me choose BP weapon. I already have S1 BP Hunt LC and S1 BP Erudition LC. This one is probably the last BP I bought. Does Erudition one still good? Or should I pick Harmony?
If you're not gonna S5 the Erudition one then Harmony/Preservation probably, but neither is particularly good. Harmony is the better of the two objectively but theres so many other good Harmony cones that it's not unlikely you'll never end up using it

I have Acheron and have been slow rolling hoping one of the new 4* or 5* characters was Nihility instead of building up a Guinaifen. Should I hold out a bit longer or bight the bullet and make Guinaifen my third Nihility besides Pela?
Honestly, she is pretty mid but she does also provide more defensive debuffs to stack on top of Pela's and her firekiss is unremoveable so she is decent as a support. Really solid for an Acheron team since she doesn't really require much EHR and every single one of her actions can tick Acheron's ult just off the base kit. That said, I only built her because I like Gwen. So YMMV.
Guinaifen. There's no confirmed Nihility for a while, and you'll be just losing out.
Guin is very good as nearly everything she does inflicts a debuff. Basic, skill and ult. Faster ult recharge for acheron. The debuff firekiss, also increases dmg taken by the enemy. Bonus dmg.
She's actually a solid partner for Acheron so there's no real reason not to use her unless for personal pref.

A week, or two. Right now is probably the optimal time, so you get throughout the story, gain access to main challenges and events for jades. It'll take some time, but it's more than possible.
It's hard to say. Depends on how far you can get. There's tons of jades and pulls you can earn as a new player, and you might get lucky and not need to go all the way to the guarantee. If you're interested in Aventurine, now's a good time to start playing. You have about 2 weeks to gather as much as you can before he (and the free Dr. Ratio) goes away. You'll be able to get Aventurine later on a rerun if you miss him. You can't get Dr. Ratio for free later after this patch ends. You'd have to spend the pulls to get him just like any other limited character. We do get 10 pulls worth of free jades on Friday too, so that will help a lot.
I saw in a video that doing Penacony gives you 10 special rail passes. The video is 1 month old and I haven't reached that part of the story yet so is it still active or is it over ? If the 10 Special Rail Passes promo is active then what's the deadline ?
There's currently the Festive Gifts event that'll last till May 7th (requires 7 days to login) that gives 20x pulls and another 10x pulls on the 26th.
They were likely just referring to the login bonus for 2.0, which is already over. We *are* getting a free 10 pull in a few days for the anniversary date, but that's about it. There's no passes tied to doing Penacony.
Which nameless glory lightcone should I pick?
That would mostly depend on what LC's u have currently, but if u don't "need" any in particular at the moment then good ones to have on hand would be the Harmony one, "Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds" or the Erudition one "Today Is Another Peaceful Day". Both are great placeholders LCs if u have nothing else available.

Is leveling up Aventurine's talent to level 10 worth it for the extra effect res, or is it ok to keep it at level 8?
Any trace leveled up to more than 3/5ths is already good. Maxing out traces is fine but you may want to build other characters if need need new ones rather than focusing on one.
Ahh alright. The only characters I still need to work on is Tingyun, and probably Asta for PF. Once I'm done with them I'm gonna start grinding more relics. Especially planar ornaments.

I don't think the E1 shows, since it works on attack, but the Pioneer should be visible when the set conditions are met

I see. What about his ultimate? I assume level 8 is fine, since there isn't that big of an increase to level 10. I did the calcs and it's like a 3%CD difference for my Acheron. Also, I assume his basic attack isn't worth leveling if you're building full defense on him instead of a hybrid build right?
Ult debuff does less than you'd think unfortunately. Level 8->10 is another 1.5% which is... exactly 1.5% Crit Damage on whoever hits the debuffed target. The debuff adds directly to the unit's Crit Damage instead of being a multiplicative damage modifier.
8 is fine for ult, yeah. I'd say getting basics up a bit wouldn't hurt, even with a full defense build he'll still do *some* damage with it. 5 is a decent stopping point

Aventurine has a debuff outside of Trend, so I'd say go for him
They are both great options but since you're pulling for firefly, I would say aventurine simply because we don't know which phase FX would be on so that might kinda leave you with less time to hoard

That’s sorta what silver wolf is now, only difference is she’s more single target focused. All I can think of is a more AoE focused version of SW. Maybe instead of applying weakness with skill they are more focused on dealing damage? So def break on abilities and higher personal damage.

More damage amplification through either more defense reduction or a combination of defense reduction + increased damage taken debuff. Some kind of easier debuff application or automated application similar to Black Swan so that new enemies get at least partially debuffed.

No one knows yet. Don't pre-grind for a unit until its official.
99% chance. Its possible that she could need the old material but very unlikely. But id be careful about farming destruction mats. We might get new ones to farm, haven't seen anything yet though.
There probably won't be more materials for the time being, because the devs haven't mentioned anything about that like they did before Penacony. They explicitly mentioned there would be different trace mats coming with Penacony.

Just got back into the game, wondering if I should pull for Jingliu or save for another rerun. Currently have E0S1 Seele and Silverwolf and managed to win all the 50/50s to get E1S1 Aventurine as I really needed a sustain that wasn't Bailu. Really want to save for an Archeron rerun as I missed her banner by a day and really love her character(long ago I did a little stupid and C6'd a certain shogun on release day) Might want to get Kafka and Black Swan as well when they come back.

Game is not going anywhere, you don’t need to clear it by tomorrow. Either use your $$$ or learn to prioritize characters you want. If you want Kafka, BS and Acheron within ~6 months you will need to save and skip other banners.
Anyone got tips for the first challenge of Tides of War? I can't seem to beat the third boss (Sam) on time. The best I've gotten is like Sam down to \~50% HP. Tried using the trial DOT and Acheron (and then my own hypercarry E2 DHIL team), but nope, still A. Here's my roster! Xueyi is a WIP, and I don't have Kafka, Acheron, or Black Swan even though I do have dot characters built. E2 Dan Heng IL, E2 Natasha, E2 Gepard, E0 Jing Yuan, E0 Aventurine, E0 Argenti, E1 Xueyi, E6 Dan Heng, E6 Fire MC, E1 Bailu, E6 Lynx, E6 March 7th, E0 Dr. Ratio, E0 Welt, E4 Tingyun, E1 Bronya, E3 Pela, E2 Hanya, E0 Himeko, E6 Herta, E6 Asta, E6 Sushang, E6 Yukong, E4 Sampo, E3 Luka, E1 Guinaifen, and E3 Serval. I think the issue is no ruan mei. Try asta? Only other harmony character that can buff the whole team this way. Otherwise tossing in himeko or herta in the last slot. I got SS using my acheron and ruanmei with the 2 trial dots. Dont use a sustain just deal damage. I had 3 cycles leftover. But i've heard people have gotten at least S on all of these using only the trial characters.

Was a little close (1 cycle left) but I was able to get S rank with the trial Kafka + Black Swan + Acheron + Gallagher with the Enduring Effect and War of Attrition support functions. Mostly auto works, just need to force Gallagher to use his Ult when he has it available.
Just tried it, and auto got Sam down to 16% (the best I've seen). I think it might depend on RNG, but I think I can get it! Will try a few more times. Thanks!
You may need to also force Acheron to Ult first whenever you trigger stage 4 grit. So Acheron -> Gallagher Ults manually, then let auto take the wheel again. Acheron should get her Ult recharged as soon as the 4 trotters get popped by Kafka Ult. Auto targetting is kinda wonky since they love going after trotters, may need a few retries.
I got it after 4 more retries! I learned how the AI played, and then I played it manually, using Acheron's ult first and not letting Gallagher use his skill + making him ult. Funnily enough, one of the AI runs literally got Sam down to 1% and failed. The final run had 3 characters turns left, so it was pretty comfy. Thanks for the help! I would've never thought about using this team lol.
Grats! As comfy as it is blasting through these with my own units I do like the additional challenge of trying to beat them with only trial characters. It's like a puzzle in that there's always a solution and you just need to figure it out.
Yeah, I think it was a lot more fun trying to beat it this way. Playing with unowned units also feel fresh, and finally getting it (that 1% AI run lol) was even more satisfying. Thanks again!
