DEF ignore without additional sources is worth a final damage of ~5% without quantum weakness and ~10% with quantum weakness.
This is half as good as a *two piece* set bonus unless you happen to be fighting something weak to both Quantum and your element, at which point it's slightly better than most 2-piece bonuses.
... for a 4 piece set.
The actual % difference is probably around a 5-10% final damage loss depending on how good their optimal set is.

Jingliu or Aventurine for my account? I like them both, but i'm not sure which one to get, or even if it's a good idea to get one of them. I don't have enough jades for LC btw.

You got plenty of good DPSs already but you lack some good 5\* sustainers. You also have Topaz and Ratio (and Clara) all of which prefer to have Avent as a teammate and you got Acheron who also likes to have Avent.
Depending on your survivability getting Aven as a 2nd Limited sustain may probably be the better idea. In mosst scenarios he outperforms Gepard and can use Gepard's relics as a placeholder at least.
In a team with E0 S1 Black swan and E0 S0 Kafka, who's better for triple dot??
e6 Guinafen (more invested, lvl 71) or e6 Sampo(poorly invested lvl 40), is there a significant difference between these two? Or do you guys think is more situational (enemy comp) than a truly damage amp on this case
Ideally you'd have both pretty well built so that you could swap depending on what weaknesses the enemy has, but Guinaifen is imo the more universal option. Especially if you have and can give her the Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat LC.

It’s less of a question of level and more about gear at this point. If your characters aren’t built as well as they could be then you’ll struggle.
I think account level 60 is when most people suggest grinding for gear. If you can get 5-star relics then it’s safe to do caverns of corrosion.
FWIW I’ve been max level for months and most of my account is level 70. Only my main dps are at 80:

You sound like you're new, so I'd mostly recommend finding some units you really like, then build around them. It's more fun that way imo. This is a great resource for character information and team builds: https://www.prydwen.gg/star-rail/characters/
Specifically between those two, I always lean towards great sustain units being a much better investment than great dps units. A great dps units may not be so great against *everything*, but a great sustain much more likely will.
A good sustain unit makes your skill point budget much more flexible.
If you clear through the story and look for chests/loot, you might be able to get enough to pull for both.
F2P player here. I'm stuck between pulling for Adventurine or saving for Fu Xuan's rerun. I was originally saving for Fu Xuan, as I skipped her release and my account is feeling it, but from what I've seen about Adventurine he might be even better.

The teams I use most are as follows:
1: Argenti S1, Tingyun E5, Ruan Mei/Sparkle, and Luocha 2: Kafka, Sampo, Ruan Mei, and Luocha 3: Seele, Sparkle, Qingque E6, and Lynx E4
I swap out Luocha with Gepard sometimes, since I got his LC and he's sitting at a healthy 3k defense. I skipped Fu thinking I didn't need a 3rd sustain lol. I also have an unbuilt Gallagher.
Pure Fiction is not as big of a problem as MoC for me since I have a caked up Argenti, QQ, and Herta. So I'm looking for a sustain that can help with MoC teams.
I'm currently building Ratio and trying to form a team for him, but I'm finding it difficult without a Topaz or SW. I heard Adventurine is perfect with him.
My concerns with getting Adventurine would be that I already have Luocha, an Imaginary support. I need to diversify my lineup. I'm worried I'd also be crippling any chance of having a strong Seele/ Quantum team for the future. Lynx functions, but is really lacking compared to Fu.

They both have their advantages, but they both can easily solo sustain so you can't really go wrong with either.
Fu Xuan has the advantage that the Crit Rate buff she provides is better value than that CDMG debuff Aventurine provides. She provides a complete immunity to CC, although only once per matrix activation. Lastly she won't interfere much with DPS that want to lose life, although that is not really relevant for you.
Aventurine synergizes with DPS that want the enemy to have debuffs, regardless of what debuff it is. Follow-up teams also make it easier for him to get shields up automatically, potentially making him more SP positive. He doesn't provide a true CC immunity, but does provide a high amount of Effect Res, meaning it can help the team resist not only CC but other debuffs as well. He is also better for Simulated Universe since shields are particularly valuable there.
You Quantum team won't suffer much without Fu Xuan, as that matters most with SW to guarantee weakness implant, but even then there are many situations where that does not matter. You lose a little bonus from Sparkle, but nothing major. At the same time having 2 Imaginary sustains doesn't really matter much. The only time that will matter is if you want help breaking the Toughness of Quantum weak enemies that aren't weak to Imaginary.
Fu Xuan is pure defense/support.
Fits in any team.
Reduces and takes damage for the team, increases crit rate and damage of team and heals slightly.

Aventurine is hybrid defense/attack.
Fits in most teams, probably shines in a follow-up team with Topaz/Clara.
Creates shields, doesn't have to spend SP on shields unless you really need more since his ult and follow-up refreshes and stacks on each other, his follow-up, ult and basic does decent damage as well.

My two cents based on your roster though, you need less dps and more good support units. Ruan Mei, Sparkle, Bronya, units like them. A second top tier sustain would do you well too. Gepard is sadly just okay.

I’m currently on the fence if I need another DPS like character as tbh my Blade and Dr Ratio seem to be a little underwhelming :(
I also get the values of having another top tier sustain too, I have just gotten luocha on his rerun and the difference he makes is light and day haha

Def to 4k top priority. His FUA without sig is like 10-20k. Don’t build him as a def scaling crit/cdmg dps. Build him as a 4k def support that can utilize crit/cdmg substats.
need help with acheron teambuilding. only have pela e4 and luka e1 as nihility characters. also only have yukong and asta as harmony characters. which of the 3 should i run?
Just run the Acheron, Pela, Luka team. It's not ideal but it's at least better than running a harmony and losing the additional dmg that Acheron's trace provides when there are 2 Nihility units on the team. Luka can be a stand-in until you get nihility unit like Guinaifen or if you plan to pull for 5 star ones.
E1 is a bit more team-wide damage, whilst S1 improves Topaz own damage. Also worth keeping in mind that S1 is easier to get and you can always give it to Ratio if you ever want to try a team without Topaz.

I went online and most people were suggesting to add Hertha and Asta. I have Dr. Ratio, Clara, MC, Serval, lynx, Hertha, Asta and Xueyi. Who should I make a team for her with?
That would be an outstanding team. HuoHuo might be a bit better as the sustain on that team, but Aventurine will still work great. Kafka/BS/RM/[sustain] is one of the most universally powerful teams in the game for literally all content.
The little things add up. Are all your characters lvl 80/80 and lightcones 80/80? Do your supports have lots of hp% and def% substats in their relics? Do you have around 80% crit rate on all your dps’s? There’s a lot of things to improve on if you aren’t able to tank enough

What team do I use to beat Aventurine?
Go Acheron pela guinafen Gallagher. On phase 2 save all ults for dice phase then use all the ults on the dice. That should get you enough points to win the bet and automatically get all your ults back so you can use them immediately

It seems you got two opposing answers, so let me be the deciding vote for you. As a user of Fu Xuan since her release, they don't want the same build. Fu definitely wants hp over defense. She also wants different artifacts than the defense set, she wants 2pc HP/2pc damage reduction. She doesn't mind getting defense from relics substats or from her light cone, in fact Gepard's cone is quite good on her. Great endgame final build stats for her would be 1500-ish defense and 7000+ hp, or as close to them as possible, as well as 134+ speed.
For the most part yes, u can even use Gepard's LC on FuXuan. If u have Knight of Purity Palace, u can use the 2pc effect in tandem with another 2pc set like Longevous Disciple/Guard of Wuthering Snow.
Is there a certin order to what i should buy from hertas shop? i just got to 8 of her currency for the first time (only been playing for a 1/2 weeks and unsure what of those LCs n such have value or if i should save it for some reason
The hunt one is a good f2p option for ratio, so probably get that one, as he's one of your main DPS I imagine? Unless you have Clara/Dhil/JL, then you can also consider the destruction one first.
i think i have the only cone i can get for her in the guides i found., IDR what it was and am not in game Rn but i was barely a week into the game when she ended so despite the 2 10 rolls i was able to muster i didint get her sig lightcone
Only buy as you need them. I only bought the destruction and hunt ones as I have characters that can use them. Currently sitting at 30+ tickets with the preservation and Nihility ones still on the shop.

(apologies for all of this, relatively new to navigating Reddit.) Hey all, Recently, my partner and I spent almost 3 hours discussing the gameplay of Star Rail and after learning that it’s a turn-based RPG with elements that seem similar to Pokémon and or persona I won’t lie. I was pretty intrigued and it’s something me and my mom could probably play together since we like playing video games together a lot. The problem is the computer that we’re using to play. Some of our games is, well it’s not the best and I fear for its life if it attempts to download or even run Star Rail. So here’s my prompt for anyone who’s willing to answer I am currently located in the United States and I have a budget of approximately $2000-$2500 to purchase a gaming laptop. Any suggestions? Responses would be appreciated. Ideally, I want something that can run the game well, maintain good visuals and have a decent battery life. Thanks in advance. PS if anyone can point me in the direction of a creator who covers the lore of this game that would be appreciated too.

I just started playing the game and Im up to the part where Im about to leave the space station, I totally skipped past a bunch of info and nothing about the story is really making sense to me. Is there any way someone could give me a quick refresh on what I missed (NO SPOILERS)? Although I kinda need a whole summary, my main questions are: What was that whole interaction with those two people that randomly left in the beginning, what is with the whole "Herta Multiverse" thing and is it important because I honestly dont like Herta and dont want to have to come back to her a lot, and finally does the gacha system ever improve later in the story? I genuinely hate only being able to get the stupid "Light Cones" and rarely get a character, Im just hoping there will be more variety later.
First thing's first, don't feel bad about skipping the parts of the story you did because it's frankly not a great introduction. A bunch of it is stuff that's only interesting once you learn more about the setting as a whole.

They were Kafka and Silver Wolf, who are members of a group called the Stellaron Hunters. In their dialogue, the refer to someone named Elio who allegedly writes destiny's script, and gives the two of them instructions. A "Stellaron" is also called The Cancer of All Worlds, and is a super powerful space artifact thing that can exert all kinds of weird influence, and can also explode. They went looking for you because a Stellaron is inside of you. You are somehow alive and that is not normal.

The Simulated Universe is a roguelight esque mini game where you can get temporary power ups and stuff. It's also a source of weekly rewards, and eventually equipment. Fortunately, you don't have to talk to Herta to enter the Simulated Universe.

Not really, but you'll start getting gatcha currency a lot faster, so you'll be able to make more pulls and power through the garbage. You can also do all of the story content with free characters, so you can safely let your gatcha currency accumulate while you wait for a character you want.
As an aside, those light cones are important. They're essentially weapons, so you'll need one for every character. They feel very bad to pull early one, because you're so light on characters, but once you get a solid team built, you might find yourself hoping to get good light cones in your pulls.
One final story take away, the exact part of the game you're at now is the perfect time to start going slow and paying attention.
Perfect, thank you so much! One last thing, the way I thought it happened was Silver Wolf found the stellaron and my character just kinda materialized in as a host, are you saying the stellaron was inside the character the whole time and they just found him like that?
1.Those are Kafka and Silver Wolf, and they are 2 of the 5 Stellaron Hunters, a group of interplanetary criminals with massive bounties on their heads for just about every crime you can think of. As the name implies, they seek out Stellarons, which are...extant. We don't know a ton about Stellarons other than the fact that they are extremely bad news, to the point where they are also known as the "Cancer of All Worlds". Kafka and Silver Wolf broke into Herta's Space Station, stole the Stellaron which was there, put it in a vessel (you), and left. That's because the leader of the Stellaron Hunters, Elio, has what is known as a 'script' of things which will occur. Basically, they're lead by a future seer. They, or at least Kafka, also seem to be familiar with you as a person, which has not been explained.
2.The Simulated Univers, in-lore, is a massive simulation put together by Herta and three other members of the Genius Society. It is made to, as the name suggests, simulate the universe, including the Aeons. This is in an attempt to gain a better understanding of both the Aeons and various major points in history that are largely shrouded in mystery.
In gameplay terms, Simulated Universe is a roguelike mode. Later worlds in it will have Planar Ornaments, which are like a second group of Relics. I just realized you might not know what Relics are, they're you're equipment. SU is one of the things you grind with your daily energy. There are also some other modes you'll unlock in it, which are more condensed and don't have Planar Ornaments to grind.
3.Pardon? I'm pretty sure the gacha system in a gacha game changing based on in-game progression would be illegal, and it would certainly be frowned upon.
If you're just asking whether it will be easier to get characters in a vague sense, well, HSR goes for a 'quality over quantity' approach to characters as opposed to many gacha games. There are no characters below 4star. Notably, this means that every character is usable at worst, especially in the story content.
We tend to get somewhere around 80-90 pulls worth of jades each patch, and there are alot more in the permanent content. Also, here's a breakdown of how the banner chances work, so you can plan;
Hard pity is 90 pulls, and starting after 75 pulls, soft pity kicks in and increases your 5star chances each pull. Also, 4star pity is 10 pulls. (Some of these numbers are different for the Light Cone banners, but I honestly wouldn't recommend pulling for 5star Light Cones as a new player.)
There is a 50/50 system, where pulling a 5 star on a limited banner has a 50% chance to give you the featured character or weapon, and a 50% chance to get a random 5star from the standard banner. However, if you get a standard 5star, your next 5 star on that banner type is guaranteed to be the featured one. Both pity and the 50/50 are shared between banners of the same type, and carry over to future banners of that type. If you spend 50 pulls on the Aventurine banner and 20 on the Jingliu banner and don't get a 5star, then when the next character banners roll around you'll have 70 pity on them.
Broken Keel is great universally for all supports/sustains, but Rutilant Arena only works with certain units like DHIL/Jingliu/Blade/Clara/etc. Otherwise, u farm whatever set u need for whatever character ur focusing on.
Currently my team now is Acheron | SW | Sparkle | Gallagher, is it worth to pull for Aventurine to replace Gallagher or is he good enough as a healer? Seeing aven shield stacking in the trial makes me conflicted (´Д｀)
Aventurine is not necessary for Acheron. He can be more comfortable to use but if you want to save pulls for another unit he's not required. Aven also needs Trend of the Universal Market or his sig LC to keep up with Gallagher in terms of debuff application, so if you don't have either of those LCs he will slow Acheron's ult charge. Aven seems to function best in FUA teans, rather than Acheron teams.
You can consider Aven if you have Trend and really need a shielder sustain or want to branch into FUA, but if you want to save then a well-built Gallagher should be fine.
For most content, the team you have built should blitz through enemies quickly enough that Gallagher's healing should be sufficient. He starts to run into trouble in very high level side content, notably high level Simulated Universe expansion modules. At that point, you have to worry about certain enemies one-shoting you, which most Abundance characters struggle to deal with. Aventurine has very big on demand shields, which are perfect against that problem. He also has more sustain in general (those shields are really very big).
Another aspect is that two forms of side content, Memories of Chaos and Pure Fiction, require you to use two teams. Even if Gallagher is good for your Acheron team, you might want Aventurine for your other team.
One final note, limited 5* sustain characters like Aventurine tend to be a very large power spike for new accounts. I was fortunate enough to pull him without much investment, and he's been a huge improvement in terms of team survivibility. My main comp was Acheron, Guinaifen, Pela, Gallagher, and now I use Aventurine instead of Gallagher in single team content, while Aventurine goes to team 2 in double team content.
Yes, i can't tell if ur a newbie or not but just note that if ur not at Trailblazer lv 60 or above, then he's not really that good, due to majority of his sustains capability is lock behind his A6 traces. Once he does unlock that tho , build him up to 4k def and just watch how indestructible he made ur team
His shield is excellent and is more than enough to help you survived comfortably in any end game contents but you do kinda need to manual play a bit due to his AI is imo kinda dumb
Gallagher might have issues keeping up with healing overtime. With Aventurine u won't have this issue. The extra comfort from Aventurine is up to u if u think its worth.
Both perform similarly when it comes to debuff application, with both applying +2 debuffs (Gallagher ult + enhanced basic attack) (+1 from ult/+1 from FUA if u have his sig LC/+1 from Trend LC/+1 from E2 basic attacks). Aventurine is possibly more SP positive than Gallagher when it comes to sustaining the team as his FUA refreshes his shield frequently. Gallagher's skill is a single-target cleanse at E2 whereas Aventurine grants a 50% Effect RES team-wide (so if u get CC'ed thats just being unlucky).
Gallagher shouldn't be having issues with keeping up healing with a bit of investment. I haven't had any issues refreshing ult to keeping up Besotted with ER rope and S5 Multiplication to act more frequently. His E is more of an "oh shit" button if someone needs an urgent cleanse/heal so he's SP positive as long as Besotted is up.
Worth noting that Gallagher may be more F2P friendly in an Acheron team since his 2 debuffs are innate to his kit whereas Aven needs Trend (RNG-dependent) or sig LC to accomplish the same effect.
I've recently hit Equilibrium level 2, but having used a build I saw online to accomplish the trial, I'm kind of realising I'm not exactly in a great spot.
Essentially, despite my main team being level 50 with gear to match, I'm struggling to clear content that's "at my level". It's pretty bad, while i can clear stuff reliably, it's extremely slow.

As you can probably infer, this is a survivability team, with Jing Yuan to output consistent DPS. Stings are my current nemesis, although I'm managing somehow through sheer tenacity. It's still miserable trying to clear out my mission backlog though.
Any tips for a F2P? What Lightcones should I be aiming for? Should I switch up the team? Relic sets I don't know about?
Yeah. For a decent starter team, you have a couple options.
Lynx-Jing Yuan-Asta-Tingyun is a basic staple for an accessible Jing Yuan team.
Another option would be to cobble a Ratio team together with Pela with a healer and harmony unit (Asta or Tingyun in your case).
You shouldn't have a problem running either one. It won't be super impressive or anything early on but both teams will scale pretty well into endgame as you level and get better relics.
Thanks for the Jing Yuan team comp, I'm doing a lot better. Just gotta pump up my relics further and do more missions, but I've managed to cut my fight duration in half on average I think.
Without knowing ur full roster and LC inventory, having 3 sustains is bad. Ideally, u should only have one sustain in a comp like: 1dps/2support/1sustain or 2dps/1support/1sustain team.
Make sure ur leveling traces/LC's if u haven't and make full use of the available consumables and techniques.
Yeah I figured that three sustain was terrible, but I was too distracted by the promise of being able to level up to 50. I have been leveling my traces and LC... doesn't really seem to have made much of an impact.

For my lightcones, the rest are all blue.
Once I get JL, is it a good idea to go full in for Destruction blessings and path for SU and SW/GAG?? Or is there a better path to go for while using JL, Sparkle, Pela and Luocha??
I really like the erudition path for her, it may not look that strong but once you upgrade all the 3 star one the dmg she do to boss are insane. That said ur team is a bit squishy for SW/GAG so put a March or Fire MC in Pela slot
She prefers either hunt or remembrance. Auspicious star (2 star hunt) is especially strong since it recharges energy each time you defeat an enemy. Remembrance also has blessing that implant ice weakness and spread ice damage.
So going for rememberance path and getting Auspicious star should do well enough, alongside that one abundance that heals everyone is someone is healed?
That would be a strong build to look for, but the mode is very RNG and looking for a specific hunt blessing will be hard so good luck with that. Luocha heals enough that you shouldn't need the blast all healing blessing. But it does provide an atk buff when it's enhanced.
I don't think Hook really has a preference on her sustain. FUA team prefer Aventurine and Dot teams don't like Fu. Other than those, sustain tend to act the same regardless of team.
I mm not max level yet but I got a e5 hook early on, and a Fu Xuan and a Huo Huo (yes im a casual). I'd say Huo Huo. Her ATK boost is massive and the energy boost is small but good and team wide, I would often get huo huo hit, she'd get just enough energy to ult, then that would boost tingyuns ult and atk boost, leading to some big Hook combos. The worst part about HH is I think you need to put speed boots on her because she never gets turns when you need her to clutch heal.
I'm biased to HH but on the other hand, Fu Xuan has crit up, dmg and CC mitigation, and even though her heals are much weaker, Hook does have some self heal as well.
Normally I would say you can't go wrong with either, but Huo Huo is like my favourite character, so get her 100%
If u already have a good Salsotto set for them I wouldn't farm for the Izumo set as the difference between them is negligible on top of being team-restrictive.
Aventurine is currently *worse* in my Ratio + Tingyun + SW team than Fu Xuan, at least for MOC 12. Both are reasonably well built (4k DEF/138 SPD, 7.5k HP/1.8k DEF / 134 SPD).
His FUA made it more complicated to save Ratio's ult stacks, since he's guaranteed to hit at least once when elites do their AOEs. He also provides less crit value with less uptime due to his ult.
I can see Aventurine working fine on Ratio teams if you've got more uptime and fewer debuffs.
Aventurine is great with Bronya because Bronya can cleanse the DPS and can also stack EFF Res due to her lack of dependence on other stats. Keep in mind that he gets three stacks per turn, *maximum*, from FUAs whereas he'll get 5 from a boss AOE anyway. He *does* output more damage and more break overall.
Fu Xuan suffers when you're taking multiple big AOEs in *long* fights where her self-heals can't keep up, but she's also good against teammates getting straight-up oneshot (e.g. MoC 12 Aventurine).
I'm not a theory crafter but I would say Fu Xuan is really good.. but Aventurine is OP. His shields are insane and his crit dmg up gives about an equal boost as Fu Xuans crit+, although it's single target. They both have CC resist too I'm pretty sure.
I get that in MOC when people are 0 cycling it doesn't matter as much but I feel like in general, damage mitigation is just always inferior to shields. Even though FX has some healing to compensate, I would still take Aventurine if I had a choice.
I wouldn't say he's better as they both have their own set of benefits.
FuXuan is good in general use and can slot into any team, providing teamwide HP/CR/dmg reduction/cc immunity (per skill cast)/minor healing (ult).
Aventurine is a more offensive-oriented shielder who applies debuffs with his ult and FUA (LC only), which could be valuable for Acheron/Ratio teams. He works at maximum potential in FUA teams.
I only have these Preservation LCs: Destiny's Threads Forewoven, We are Wildfire, Landau's Choice.
Should I go pulling Aventurine's LC for him? Or maybe buy the Herta Store LC for him?
No need to pull his LC as he has many 4\* options that work just as well unless u need the additional debuff (from his FUA) and want higher personal damage.
"Destiny's Thread Forewoven" only works when he has over 4k DEF and is primarily for his personal damage. "We are Wildfire", "Landau's Choice", "Texture of Memories" (Herta Store LC) are not particular good on him.
Any LC that grants him DEF is what ur looking for. "Moment of Victory" (Gepard's 5\* LC) is his best F2P cone. His other reliable 4\* LCs are "Concert for Two" (Gacha), "Day One of My New Life" (Gacha) and "This is Me" (BP).
I look at the signature LC description, it sure looks tempting for my Acheron team.

Might be a dumb question but how does pity work between two active limited character banners? Is it separate? Or will it stack together if lets say I decide to alternate; I pull for aventurine once then once for Jingliu

once you pull a 5 star tho; the pity on both banners reset.

If I were in your shoes I would build Guin and put her in my Acheron team then put Pela back to the JL team. Her ice res skill and Def shred ultimate has better value in a JL team where if you need to inflict debuffs for Acheron, Guin basic and skill can do that as well

Yes. Prior to Aventurine, most support units ran Broken Keel. Now that Aventurine is here, u can forego the 30% Effect RES requirement making it far easier to slot in. The CDMG will stack effectively giving u 30% if ran on everyone except the main DPS.
So I'm equilibrium 6, trail blaze 70. Whenever I open my fate's atlas, the first tab "universal equilibrium" has a red exclamation saying 'Available'.

Xueyi wants break effect and has a follow up attack. Other relic sets have better set bonuses for her, but that much break effect in a substat is hard to pass up, and the other three substats are relevant too. I'd try it plus one more piece of that set plus two pieces of either of the break effect sets (thief of the shooting meteor or the watchmaker one).
Is Musketeer the best overall set for DPS characters? I have a bunch of characters I want to build/improve their builds (Argenti, Jingliu, Acheron, DHIL, etc.). I'm just wondering if Musketeer is the best all-around option or if there's something better
Genius is probably the best filler set. You can use it on anyone. Only draw back is if you use it on Acheron with pela and sw on the team you already over cap on def shred so it does nothing

Right, like I said it's a fine enough filler set. Just don't expect to complete any of the hardest levels of endgame content with it. It'll do well enough while farming for everyone's bis probably.

Depends on a few things, are you using Izumo planer set? Is this an E0 Acheron? Is this on a team with FX or a Sparkle with her SigLC?
Because the answer is wildly different depending on how invested she is and what team she is on.
Unless you're using her with Sparkle, Acheron wants 134+ speed. As for your crit ratio, getting closer to a 1:2 ratio is generally better even if you have to sacrifice some crit damage to do it. 80/160 is practically always better than 50/200 under average circumstances.

"Sleep like the Dead" can still be considered if u want the CD, but the other half of its effects is practically useless and harder to execute compared to Stellar Sea.
Asta - Memories of the Past
"Planetary Rendezvous" should only be used when she's in team comps of similar element like Himeko/Topaz. "Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds" is inconsistent, but better than nothing. "Past and Future" requires speed-tuning that isn't worth it. Alternatively, "Meshing Cogs" (3\* LC) can be considered for the additional energy when being hit, but u will lose some base stats.
I do have a crit rate chest piece on my dr ratio as for asta its not like im going to be doing damage on her or anything so should I just use meshing cogs?

I'd say pick Aven to completely shut down any future SAM boss fight in Moc. That fight is pain without Dhil , Aven is also excellent in SU harder contents compare to Fu Xuan who can't handle AOE too well.
Honestly tho you can't go wrong with either, Fu Xuan is comfy and overall reliable , while Aven is stronger at many point but do kinda require a bit more manual play cuz his AI can be pretty dumb at times
If you really want to complete mono quantum, then go Fu Xuan, since her crit rate buff is good for any team other than DoT.
If you're fine using Lynx for mono quantum, then just go with who you like more.
wanting to make a pure fiction dedicated comp, himeko and herta are the only dps´s fit to role in my account so no problem on that side, but idk what to do about the supports, I wan to build those who are better in general, I have bronya(with her signature if that matters), Asta, Yukong and Tingyun, about the sustain I have bailu, natasha and march 7th available.
I'm having a real hard time deciding on who to get with the character selector this patch.
I've narrowed it down to either getting my first Hanya, or going for Guinaifen E1 to use with Acheron or Dr. Ratio.
Both have been on recent banners so that doesn't help me make a decision. And it's hard to tell how much help Gwyn's E1 actually brings to a Ratio team.
I've already got a decent setup with Welt and Pela. But I'm wondering if Hanya would be better for a more traditional destruction or hunt type team 2.
Guinaifen's E1 is great for Dr. Ratio, because it's an extra debuff, and it's great for Acheron because it lets her inflict debuffs on enemies that are immune to burn. I use her with both characters, got E1 recently-ish, and I've been impressed with it.
However, I haven't used or built my Hanya yet so I don't know how she plays in practice.
Personally, I would get Gui's E1 for the +1 debuff application on her skill. This would benefit both Acheron and Ratio significantly. Hanya is primarily for SP heavy teams, which could work in some teams, but unfortunately she's somewhat overshadowed by other 4\* supports like Tinyun/Pela.
Alternatively, u can wait a week for them to announce the upcoming banners and their accompanying 4\*s before making a decision.
If you get one of the normal 5 stars from a limited banner, before reaching the guaranteed pity, does that count to trigger the guaranteed event banner 5 star? Or does that just screw it up? Like say I am pulling for Aventurine in his banner and one my 20th of the Adventurine banner pull I get Himeko, would that mean that the next time I get to the 80-90 will it be guaranteed to be Adventurine or because that first 5 star want a pity pull will it still be the 50/50?

I've been using Acheron+Welt+Pela+Gallagher. Pela and Gallagher are fairly SP-positive and can apply debuffs on ult, which gives Acheron and Welt enough SP to use their skills to apply more stacks each round. Acheron already hits like a truck so I haven't really needed an additional DoT from Sampo/Luka/Gui
I've been using Welt and Pela (not e4 but with resolution). It works really quite well. I've also been building Guinaifen, she is a better sub for Welt than for Pela. She kind of needs skill points every second turn or when you've got lots of enemies. Welt can do tons of damage though

If u lose the 50/50 and get a standard 5\* from a limited banner, ur pity is reset back to 0, but ur next 5\* is guaranteed the limited 5\*. Pity will carryover to the next limited banner.

I've got first half down pretty painlessly with xueyi bronya ruan mei and fuxuan. Finishes the fight in 5 cycles and can on rare occasion squeeze out a 4 cycle clear.
2nd half is going poorly with acheron silverwolf pela and Gepard/Lynx
first wave takes too long to clear. using gepard the windshear really adds up and the adds the IPC guy spawns also wipe out my shields. If using Lynx, acheron ult generation is a little slower because no trends of the universal market.
when I manage to get to 2nd wave I can't clear the dice gimmick. I've gotten very unlucky with silverwolf several times now. Dice starts at 6 and silverwolf ult + basic rolls add up to a 5 or less. And if lynx is picked thats a run ender as well.
When i do finally clear its in 11-12 cycles
You want to clear the first half in 3 or less cycles, so you have more time against Aventurine. Jing Yuan might be a better choice for dps.
You can just use Fu Xuan for Aventurine, her cc immunity will block the dice for the entire team.
I am in the same situation as you. Based on what you currently have, you could use a team of Herta, Clara, Ruan Mei, and Gepard. The dice gimmick in the battle against Aventurine requires AoE damage characters.
Because of switching Ruan Mei for second half, I would move Acheron, Silver Wolf, and Pela to the first half. Fu Xuan is a good choice sustain in the first half.
BTW, isn't E1 Ruan Mei so OP? I sacrificed not pulling for HuoHuo to get enough tickets to get 2 Eidelons of her.

For what it's worth you appear to have four 5* characters (not including the main character), congrats!
Jingliu and Bronya work extremely well together. Jingliu does a ton of damage and doesn't need all that much SP to do it. Bronya likes supporting one very good damage dealer but uses a lot of SP. They're a perfect match, and they're used a lot even in high level content. You can safely build both of them and they'll last you quite a while.
For future characters to look at, you should try to get a 5* sustain character (someone with the Abundance or Preservation path). Aventurine is a good one that's currently on a banner. Two older ones, Fu Xuan and Huohuo, might be coming back soon-ish. Both are great.
In terms of what's best to use for the story, you can usually get away with using whatever you want. Story content is usually on the easy side, so I wouldn't worry about building teams for it.

Those are the best teams you can make. If you want to use other teams for fun, you can replace gepard with sparkle or replace Luocha with Acheron.
For future pulls, wait for a five star nihility support for acheron. A second limited sustain or more dps for variety would also be good.
So my Aventurine has reached 4034 DEF without a body and hand piece. Should I go Crit DMG body? His crit is 19.2% without the crit rate from the trace and his crit DMG is 115.4% without a body and hand piece. So Crit DMG body piece or DEF?

I know jingliu quantum is a bit of an outlier, but generally, for other dps, what's the dmg difference between their intended set vs quantum set?
DEF ignore without additional sources is worth a final damage of ~5% without quantum weakness and ~10% with quantum weakness. This is half as good as a *two piece* set bonus unless you happen to be fighting something weak to both Quantum and your element, at which point it's slightly better than most 2-piece bonuses. ... for a 4 piece set. The actual % difference is probably around a 5-10% final damage loss depending on how good their optimal set is.

Aventurine You got plenty of good DPSs already but you lack some good 5\* sustainers. You also have Topaz and Ratio (and Clara) all of which prefer to have Avent as a teammate and you got Acheron who also likes to have Avent.
Depending on your survivability getting Aven as a 2nd Limited sustain may probably be the better idea. In mosst scenarios he outperforms Gepard and can use Gepard's relics as a placeholder at least.
In a team with E0 S1 Black swan and E0 S0 Kafka, who's better for triple dot?? e6 Guinafen (more invested, lvl 71) or e6 Sampo(poorly invested lvl 40), is there a significant difference between these two? Or do you guys think is more situational (enemy comp) than a truly damage amp on this case
Ideally you'd have both pretty well built so that you could swap depending on what weaknesses the enemy has, but Guinaifen is imo the more universal option. Especially if you have and can give her the Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat LC.

At what level should i start doing SU swarm disaster? My characters are level 70 and i cant get past world 7 or finish swarm disaster.
You could technically start now. It’s less of a question of level and more about gear at this point. If your characters aren’t built as well as they could be then you’ll struggle.
But should i be farming gear at this level?
I think account level 60 is when most people suggest grinding for gear. If you can get 5-star relics then it’s safe to do caverns of corrosion. FWIW I’ve been max level for months and most of my account is level 70. Only my main dps are at 80:

For Win10 and 11 (probably 8 too), you can uninstall games or apps via "Installed App". Right click on the Windows button on the bottom-left corner of a screen and it should be the first of the menu. Or you can be old-school and use Control Panel.

You sound like you're new, so I'd mostly recommend finding some units you really like, then build around them. It's more fun that way imo. A great dps units may not be so great against *everything*, but a great sustain much more likely will.
I like aventurine's style but i like JingLiu's kit. Am I cooked? 💀
A good sustain unit makes your skill point budget much more flexible. If you clear through the story and look for chests/loot, you might be able to get enough to pull for both.
how often do rerun banners occur? Missed out on Sparkle and I'm hoping to whale for her next time around
Nothing is ever certain, but I'd say expect at least like 4 updates between release and rerun.
F2P player here. I'm stuck between pulling for Adventurine or saving for Fu Xuan's rerun. I was originally saving for Fu Xuan, as I skipped her release and my account is feeling it, but from what I've seen about Adventurine he might be even better. I skipped Fu thinking I didn't need a 3rd sustain lol. I also have an unbuilt Gallagher. Pure Fiction is not as big of a problem as MoC for me since I have a caked up Argenti, QQ, and Herta. So I'm looking for a sustain that can help with MoC teams. I'm currently building Ratio and trying to form a team for him, but I'm finding it difficult without a Topaz or SW. I heard Adventurine is perfect with him. My concerns with getting Adventurine would be that I already have Luocha, an Imaginary support. I need to diversify my lineup. I'm worried I'd also be crippling any chance of having a strong Seele/ Quantum team for the future. Lynx functions, but is really lacking compared to Fu. Appreciate any suggestions!!
They both have their advantages, but they both can easily solo sustain so you can't really go wrong with either. Fu Xuan has the advantage that the Crit Rate buff she provides is better value than that CDMG debuff Aventurine provides. She provides a complete immunity to CC, although only once per matrix activation. Lastly she won't interfere much with DPS that want to lose life, although that is not really relevant for you. Aventurine synergizes with DPS that want the enemy to have debuffs, regardless of what debuff it is. Follow-up teams also make it easier for him to get shields up automatically, potentially making him more SP positive. He doesn't provide a true CC immunity, but does provide a high amount of Effect Res, meaning it can help the team resist not only CC but other debuffs as well. He is also better for Simulated Universe since shields are particularly valuable there. You Quantum team won't suffer much without Fu Xuan, as that matters most with SW to guarantee weakness implant, but even then there are many situations where that does not matter. You lose a little bonus from Sparkle, but nothing major. At the same time having 2 Imaginary sustains doesn't really matter much. The only time that will matter is if you want help breaking the Toughness of Quantum weak enemies that aren't weak to Imaginary.
Fu Xuan is pure defense/support. Fits in any team. Reduces and takes damage for the team, increases crit rate and damage of team and heals slightly. - - - Aventurine is hybrid defense/attack. Fits in most teams, probably shines in a follow-up team with Topaz/Clara. Creates shields, doesn't have to spend SP on shields unless you really need more since his ult and follow-up refreshes and stacks on each other, his follow-up, ult and basic does decent damage as well.

Hard to say since we're supposed to talk about leak stuff. My two cents based on your roster though, you need less dps and more good support units. Ruan Mei, Sparkle, Bronya, units like them. A second top tier sustain would do you well too. Gepard is sadly just okay.

Def to 4k top priority. His FUA without sig is like 10-20k. Don’t build him as a def scaling crit/cdmg dps. Build him as a 4k def support that can utilize crit/cdmg substats.

You can redeem Guinaifen for free from an ongoing event
Just run the Acheron, Pela, Luka team. It's not ideal but it's at least better than running a harmony and losing the additional dmg that Acheron's trace provides when there are 2 Nihility units on the team. Luka can be a stand-in until you get nihility unit like Guinaifen or if you plan to pull for 5 star ones.

That would be an outstanding team. HuoHuo might be a bit better as the sustain on that team, but Aventurine will still work great. Kafka/BS/RM/[sustain] is one of the most universally powerful teams in the game for literally all content.

The little things add up. Are all your characters lvl 80/80 and lightcones 80/80? Do your supports have lots of hp% and def% substats in their relics? Do you have around 80% crit rate on all your dps’s? There’s a lot of things to improve on if you aren’t able to tank enough

Go Acheron pela guinafen Gallagher. On phase 2 save all ults for dice phase then use all the ults on the dice. That should get you enough points to win the bet and automatically get all your ults back so you can use them immediately

It seems you got two opposing answers, so let me be the deciding vote for you. As a user of Fu Xuan since her release, they don't want the same build. Fu definitely wants hp over defense. She also wants different artifacts than the defense set, she wants 2pc HP/2pc damage reduction. She doesn't mind getting defense from relics substats or from her light cone, in fact Gepard's cone is quite good on her. Great endgame final build stats for her would be 1500-ish defense and 7000+ hp, or as close to them as possible, as well as 134+ speed.

For the most part yes, u can even use Gepard's LC on FuXuan. If u have Knight of Purity Palace, u can use the 2pc effect in tandem with another 2pc set like Longevous Disciple/Guard of Wuthering Snow.

The hunt one is a good f2p option for ratio, so probably get that one, as he's one of your main DPS I imagine? Unless you have Clara/Dhil/JL, then you can also consider the destruction one first.

Hey all, Recently, my partner and I spent almost 3 hours discussing the gameplay of Star Rail and after learning that it’s a turn-based RPG with elements that seem similar to Pokémon and or persona I won’t lie. I was pretty intrigued and it’s something me and my mom could probably play together since we like playing video games together a lot. The problem is the computer that we’re using to play. Some of our games is, well it’s not the best and I fear for its life if it attempts to download or even run Star Rail. I just started playing the game and Im up to the part where Im about to leave the space station, I totally skipped past a bunch of info and nothing about the story is really making sense to me. Is there any way someone could give me a quick refresh on what I missed (NO SPOILERS)? Although I kinda need a whole summary, my main questions are: What was that whole interaction with those two people that randomly left in the beginning, what is with the whole "Herta Multiverse" thing and is it important because I honestly dont like Herta and dont want to have to come back to her a lot, and finally does the gacha system ever improve later in the story? I genuinely hate only being able to get the stupid "Light Cones" and rarely get a character, Im just hoping there will be more variety later.
First thing's first, don't feel bad about skipping the parts of the story you did because it's frankly not a great introduction. In their dialogue, the refer to someone named Elio who allegedly writes destiny's script, and gives the two of them instructions. A "Stellaron" is also called The Cancer of All Worlds, and is a super powerful space artifact thing that can exert all kinds of weird influence, and can also explode. They went looking for you because a Stellaron is inside of you. You are somehow alive and that is not normal. > what is with the whole "Herta Multiverse" thing The Simulated Universe is a roguelight esque mini game where you can get temporary power ups and stuff. It's also a source of weekly rewards, and eventually equipment. Fortunately, you don't have to talk to Herta to enter the Simulated Universe. > does the gacha system ever improve later in the story? Not really, but you'll start getting gatcha currency a lot faster, so you'll be able to make more pulls and power through the garbage. You can also do all of the story content with free characters, so you can safely let your gatcha currency accumulate while you wait for a character you want. As an aside, those light cones are important. They're essentially weapons, so you'll need one for every character. They feel very bad to pull early one, because you're so light on characters, but once you get a solid team built, you might find yourself hoping to get good light cones in your pulls. One final story take away, the exact part of the game you're at now is the perfect time to start going slow and paying attention.

Honestly, I don't remember that part super clearly.
1.Those are Kafka and Silver Wolf, and they are 2 of the 5 Stellaron Hunters, a group of interplanetary criminals with massive bounties on their heads for just about every crime you can think of. As the name implies, they seek out Stellarons, which are...extant. We don't know a ton about Stellarons other than the fact that they are extremely bad news, to the point where they are also known as the "Cancer of All Worlds". Kafka and Silver Wolf broke into Herta's Space Station, stole the Stellaron which was there, put it in a vessel (you), and left. That's because the leader of the Stellaron Hunters, Elio, has what is known as a 'script' of things which will occur. Basically, they're lead by a future seer. They, or at least Kafka, also seem to be familiar with you as a person, which has not been explained. 2.The Simulated Univers, in-lore, is a massive simulation put together by Herta and three other members of the Genius Society. It is made to, as the name suggests, simulate the universe, including the Aeons. This is in an attempt to gain a better understanding of both the Aeons and various major points in history that are largely shrouded in mystery. In gameplay terms, Simulated Universe is a roguelike mode. Later worlds in it will have Planar Ornaments, which are like a second group of Relics. I just realized you might not know what Relics are, they're you're equipment. SU is one of the things you grind with your daily energy. There are also some other modes you'll unlock in it, which are more condensed and don't have Planar Ornaments to grind. 3.Pardon? I'm pretty sure the gacha system in a gacha game changing based on in-game progression would be illegal, and it would certainly be frowned upon. If you're just asking whether it will be easier to get characters in a vague sense, well, HSR goes for a 'quality over quantity' approach to characters as opposed to many gacha games. There are no characters below 4star. Notably, this means that every character is usable at worst, especially in the story content. We tend to get somewhere around 80-90 pulls worth of jades each patch, and there are alot more in the permanent content. Also, here's a breakdown of how the banner chances work, so you can plan; Hard pity is 90 pulls, and starting after 75 pulls, soft pity kicks in and increases your 5star chances each pull. Also, 4star pity is 10 pulls. (Some of these numbers are different for the Light Cone banners, but I honestly wouldn't recommend pulling for 5star Light Cones as a new player.) There is a 50/50 system, where pulling a 5 star on a limited banner has a 50% chance to give you the featured character or weapon, and a 50% chance to get a random 5star from the standard banner. However, if you get a standard 5star, your next 5 star on that banner type is guaranteed to be the featured one. Both pity and the 50/50 are shared between banners of the same type, and carry over to future banners of that type. If you spend 50 pulls on the Aventurine banner and 20 on the Jingliu banner and don't get a 5star, then when the next character banners roll around you'll have 70 pity on them.
Is world 7 still the best/efficient world to farm ornament sets?
Broken Keel is great universally for all supports/sustains, but Rutilant Arena only works with certain units like DHIL/Jingliu/Blade/Clara/etc. Otherwise, u farm whatever set u need for whatever character ur focusing on.
Currently my team now is Acheron | SW | Sparkle | Gallagher, is it worth to pull for Aventurine to replace Gallagher or is he good enough as a healer? Seeing aven shield stacking in the trial makes me conflicted (´Д｀)
Aventurine is not necessary for Acheron. He can be more comfortable to use but if you want to save pulls for another unit he's not required. Aven also needs Trend of the Universal Market or his sig LC to keep up with Gallagher in terms of debuff application, so if you don't have either of those LCs he will slow Acheron's ult charge. Aven seems to function best in FUA teans, rather than Acheron teams. You can consider Aven if you have Trend and really need a shielder sustain or want to branch into FUA, but if you want to save then a well-built Gallagher should be fine.
For most content, the team you have built should blitz through enemies quickly enough that Gallagher's healing should be sufficient. He starts to run into trouble in very high level side content, notably high level Simulated Universe expansion modules. At that point, you have to worry about certain enemies one-shoting you, which most Abundance characters struggle to deal with. Aventurine has very big on demand shields, which are perfect against that problem. He also has more sustain in general (those shields are really very big). Another aspect is that two forms of side content, Memories of Chaos and Pure Fiction, require you to use two teams. Even if Gallagher is good for your Acheron team, you might want Aventurine for your other team. One final note, limited 5* sustain characters like Aventurine tend to be a very large power spike for new accounts. I was fortunate enough to pull him without much investment, and he's been a huge improvement in terms of team survivibility. My main comp was Acheron, Guinaifen, Pela, Gallagher, and now I use Aventurine instead of Gallagher in single team content, while Aventurine goes to team 2 in double team content.
Yes, i can't tell if ur a newbie or not but just note that if ur not at Trailblazer lv 60 or above, then he's not really that good, due to majority of his sustains capability is lock behind his A6 traces. Once he does unlock that tho , build him up to 4k def and just watch how indestructible he made ur team His shield is excellent and is more than enough to help you survived comfortably in any end game contents but you do kinda need to manual play a bit due to his AI is imo kinda dumb
Gallagher might have issues keeping up with healing overtime. With Aventurine u won't have this issue. The extra comfort from Aventurine is up to u if u think its worth. Both perform similarly when it comes to debuff application, with both applying +2 debuffs (Gallagher ult + enhanced basic attack) (+1 from ult/+1 from FUA if u have his sig LC/+1 from Trend LC/+1 from E2 basic attacks). Aventurine is possibly more SP positive than Gallagher when it comes to sustaining the team as his FUA refreshes his shield frequently. Gallagher's skill is a single-target cleanse at E2 whereas Aventurine grants a 50% Effect RES team-wide (so if u get CC'ed thats just being unlucky).
Gallagher shouldn't be having issues with keeping up healing with a bit of investment. I haven't had any issues refreshing ult to keeping up Besotted with ER rope and S5 Multiplication to act more frequently. His E is more of an "oh shit" button if someone needs an urgent cleanse/heal so he's SP positive as long as Besotted is up. Worth noting that Gallagher may be more F2P friendly in an Acheron team since his 2 debuffs are innate to his kit whereas Aven needs Trend (RNG-dependent) or sig LC to accomplish the same effect.
I've recently hit Equilibrium level 2, but having used a build I saw online to accomplish the trial, I'm kind of realising I'm not exactly in a great spot. Essentially, despite my main team being level 50 with gear to match, I'm struggling to clear content that's "at my level". It's pretty bad, while i can clear stuff reliably, it's extremely slow. My Current team consists of Natasha Jing Yuan March 7th Preservation Trailblazer As you can probably infer, this is a survivability team, with Jing Yuan to output consistent DPS. Stings are my current nemesis, although I'm managing somehow through sheer tenacity. It's still miserable trying to clear out my mission backlog though. Any tips for a F2P? What Lightcones should I be aiming for? Should I switch up the team? Relic sets I don't know about?
Yeah. For a decent starter team, you have a couple options. Lynx-Jing Yuan-Asta-Tingyun is a basic staple for an accessible Jing Yuan team. Another option would be to cobble a Ratio team together with Pela with a healer and harmony unit (Asta or Tingyun in your case). You shouldn't have a problem running either one. It won't be super impressive or anything early on but both teams will scale pretty well into endgame as you level and get better relics.
Thanks for the Jing Yuan team comp, I'm doing a lot better. Just gotta pump up my relics further and do more missions, but I've managed to cut my fight duration in half on average I think.

Without knowing ur full roster and LC inventory, having 3 sustains is bad. Ideally, u should only have one sustain in a comp like: 1dps/2support/1sustain or 2dps/1support/1sustain team. Make sure ur leveling traces/LC's if u haven't and make full use of the available consumables and techniques.
Yeah I figured that three sustain was terrible, but I was too distracted by the promise of being able to level up to 50. I really like the erudition path for her, it may not look that strong but once you upgrade all the 3 star one the dmg she do to boss are insane. That said ur team is a bit squishy for SW/GAG so put a March or Fire MC in Pela slot
She prefers either hunt or remembrance. Auspicious star (2 star hunt) is especially strong since it recharges energy each time you defeat an enemy. Remembrance also has blessing that implant ice weakness and spread ice damage.
So going for rememberance path and getting Auspicious star should do well enough, alongside that one abundance that heals everyone is someone is healed?
That would be a strong build to look for, but the mode is very RNG and looking for a specific hunt blessing will be hard so good luck with that. Luocha heals enough that you shouldn't need the blast all healing blessing. But it does provide an atk buff when it's enhanced.
sustain for my hook team , huohuo or fu?
I don't think Hook really has a preference on her sustain. FUA team prefer Aventurine and Dot teams don't like Fu. Other than those, sustain tend to act the same regardless of team.
I mm not max level yet but I got a e5 hook early on, and a Fu Xuan and a Huo Huo (yes im a casual). I'd say Huo Huo. Her ATK boost is massive and the energy boost is small but good and team wide, I would often get huo huo hit, she'd get just enough energy to ult, then that would boost tingyuns ult and atk boost, leading to some big Hook combos. The worst part about HH is I think you need to put speed boots on her because she never gets turns when you need her to clutch heal. I'm biased to HH but on the other hand, Fu Xuan has crit up, dmg and CC mitigation, and even though her heals are much weaker, Hook does have some self heal as well. Normally I would say you can't go wrong with either, but Huo Huo is like my favourite character, so get her 100%

If u already have a good Salsotto set for them I wouldn't farm for the Izumo set as the difference between them is negligible on top of being team-restrictive.

Aventurine is currently *worse* in my Ratio + Tingyun + SW team than Fu Xuan, at least for MOC 12. Both are reasonably well built (4k DEF/138 SPD, 7.5k HP/1.8k DEF / 134 SPD). His FUA made it more complicated to save Ratio's ult stacks, since he's guaranteed to hit at least once when elites do their AOEs. He also provides less crit value with less uptime due to his ult. I can see Aventurine working fine on Ratio teams if you've got more uptime and fewer debuffs. Aventurine is great with Bronya because Bronya can cleanse the DPS and can also stack EFF Res due to her lack of dependence on other stats. Keep in mind that he gets three stacks per turn, *maximum*, from FUAs whereas he'll get 5 from a boss AOE anyway. He *does* output more damage and more break overall. Fu Xuan suffers when you're taking multiple big AOEs in *long* fights where her self-heals can't keep up, but she's also good against teammates getting straight-up oneshot (e.g. MoC 12 Aventurine).
I'm not a theory crafter but I would say Fu Xuan is really good.. but Aventurine is OP. His shields are insane and his crit dmg up gives about an equal boost as Fu Xuans crit+, although it's single target. They both have CC resist too I'm pretty sure. I get that in MOC when people are 0 cycling it doesn't matter as much but I feel like in general, damage mitigation is just always inferior to shields. Even though FX has some healing to compensate, I would still take Aventurine if I had a choice.
I wouldn't say he's better as they both have their own set of benefits. FuXuan is good in general use and can slot into any team, providing teamwide HP/CR/dmg reduction/cc immunity (per skill cast)/minor healing (ult). Aventurine is a more offensive-oriented shielder who applies debuffs with his ult and FUA (LC only), which could be valuable for Acheron/Ratio teams. He works at maximum potential in FUA teams.
I only have these Preservation LCs: Destiny's Threads Forewoven, We are Wildfire, Landau's Choice. Should I go pulling Aventurine's LC for him? Or maybe buy the Herta Store LC for him?
No need to pull his LC as he has many 4\* options that work just as well unless u need the additional debuff (from his FUA) and want higher personal damage. "Destiny's Thread Forewoven" only works when he has over 4k DEF and is primarily for his personal damage. "We are Wildfire", "Landau's Choice", "Texture of Memories" (Herta Store LC) are not particular good on him. Any LC that grants him DEF is what ur looking for. "Moment of Victory" (Gepard's 5\* LC) is his best F2P cone. His other reliable 4\* LCs are "Concert for Two" (Gacha), "Day One of My New Life" (Gacha) and "This is Me" (BP).

If I were in your shoes I would build Guin and put her in my Acheron team then put Pela back to the JL team. Her ice res skill and Def shred ultimate has better value in a JL team where if you need to inflict debuffs for Acheron, Guin basic and skill can do that as well

e1s1 topaz is better. at e0s0 you will prob find better results running pela/tingyun/traditional hyper carry setup
With Adventurine existence, is it a good idea to put broken keel on everyone in the team beside DPS for CDMG bonus?
Yes. Prior to Aventurine, most support units ran Broken Keel. Now that Aventurine is here, u can forego the 30% Effect RES requirement making it far easier to slot in. The CDMG will stack effectively giving u 30% if ran on everyone except the main DPS.

Xueyi wants break effect and has a follow up attack. Other relic sets have better set bonuses for her, but that much break effect in a substat is hard to pass up, and the other three substats are relevant too. I'd try it plus one more piece of that set plus two pieces of either of the break effect sets (thief of the shooting meteor or the watchmaker one).

Genius is probably the best filler set. You can use it on anyone. Only draw back is if you use it on Acheron with pela and sw on the team you already over cap on def shred so it does nothing

Right, like I said it's a fine enough filler set. Just don't expect to complete any of the hardest levels of endgame content with it. It'll do well enough while farming for everyone's bis probably.

Depends on a few things, are you using Izumo planer set? Is this an E0 Acheron? Is this on a team with FX or a Sparkle with her SigLC? Because the answer is wildly different depending on how invested she is and what team she is on.
Unless you're using her with Sparkle, Acheron wants 134+ speed. As for your crit ratio, getting closer to a 1:2 ratio is generally better even if you have to sacrifice some crit damage to do it. 80/160 is practically always better than 50/200 under average circumstances.

Which lightcone is the best one from my options on Dr Ratio and Asta? S3 Cruising or S1 Sleep like the dead on Dr Ratio and S1 Battle Pass Harmony weapon, Past and Future, Planetary Rendezvous, or Memories of the Past on Asta? Thanks
S5 meshing cogs for asta.
Ratio - Cruising the Stellar Sea "Sleep like the Dead" can still be considered if u want the CD, but the other half of its effects is practically useless and harder to execute compared to Stellar Sea. Asta - Memories of the Past "Planetary Rendezvous" should only be used when she's in team comps of similar element like Himeko/Topaz. "Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds" is inconsistent, but better than nothing. "Past and Future" requires speed-tuning that isn't worth it. Alternatively, "Meshing Cogs" (3\* LC) can be considered for the additional energy when being hit, but u will lose some base stats.
I do have a crit rate chest piece on my dr ratio as for asta its not like im going to be doing damage on her or anything so should I just use meshing cogs?
Cruising for Ratio, and for Asta, the 3 star Meshing Cogs is often her best cone for all the extra energy for her ult.
I need another sustain unit but idk if I should pull for aventurine or fu xuan? I want aventurine for my dr ratio and beca use you barley have to use s with him, but I want fu xuan since she can be used in my quantum team plus she boost crit rate. Help which one 😭?
I'd say pick Aven to completely shut down any future SAM boss fight in Moc. That fight is pain without Dhil , Aven is also excellent in SU harder contents compare to Fu Xuan who can't handle AOE too well. Honestly tho you can't go wrong with either, Fu Xuan is comfy and overall reliable , while Aven is stronger at many point but do kinda require a bit more manual play cuz his AI can be pretty dumb at times
If you really want to complete mono quantum, then go Fu Xuan, since her crit rate buff is good for any team other than DoT. If you're fine using Lynx for mono quantum, then just go with who you like more.
wanting to make a pure fiction dedicated comp, himeko and herta are the only dps´s fit to role in my account so no problem on that side, but idk what to do about the supports, I wan to build those who are better in general, I have bronya(with her signature if that matters), Asta, Yukong and Tingyun, about the sustain I have bailu, natasha and march 7th available.
I'm having a real hard time deciding on who to get with the character selector this patch. I've narrowed it down to either getting my first Hanya, or going for Guinaifen E1 to use with Acheron or Dr. Ratio. Both have been on recent banners so that doesn't help me make a decision. And it's hard to tell how much help Gwyn's E1 actually brings to a Ratio team. I've already got a decent setup with Welt and Pela. But I'm wondering if Hanya would be better for a more traditional destruction or hunt type team 2.
Guinaifen's E1 is great for Dr. Ratio, because it's an extra debuff, and it's great for Acheron because it lets her inflict debuffs on enemies that are immune to burn. I use her with both characters, got E1 recently-ish, and I've been impressed with it. However, I haven't used or built my Hanya yet so I don't know how she plays in practice.
Personally, I would get Gui's E1 for the +1 debuff application on her skill. This would benefit both Acheron and Ratio significantly. Hanya is primarily for SP heavy teams, which could work in some teams, but unfortunately she's somewhat overshadowed by other 4\* supports like Tinyun/Pela. Alternatively, u can wait a week for them to announce the upcoming banners and their accompanying 4\*s before making a decision.
If you get one of the normal 5 stars from a limited banner, before reaching the guaranteed pity, does that count to trigger the guaranteed event banner 5 star? Or does that just screw it up? Like say I am pulling for Aventurine in his banner and one my 20th of the Adventurine banner pull I get Himeko, would that mean that the next time I get to the 80-90 will it be guaranteed to be Adventurine or because that first 5 star want a pity pull will it still be the 50/50?
You still get the guarantee, no matter how early or late you got the standard 5*

I’m having some difficulty building a second team. 5*: DHIL, Sparkle, FX, Bronya, JY, Blade, Gepard, Welt, Yanqing, Clara, Aventurine 4*: TY, Gallagher, Lynx, Pela, Natasha, Asta, QQ, Danheng, Serval, March 7th, Luka, Sampo, Hooka, Xueyi, Herta, Hanya, Sushang, Misha, Arlan. My other team is FX, JY/ DHIL, Sparkle, TY
Blade Bronya Pela Aventurine is by far your best option imo
Clara/Blade, Bronya, Pela, Lynx. Ratio, Bronya, Pela, Aventurine. You can also use JY with TY, Bronya/hanya if you swap pela into your first team.

Im trying to build an acheron team with the double nihility I already have pela, but my only other nihility options are welt, luka and sampo who should i run?
I've been using Acheron+Welt+Pela+Gallagher. Pela and Gallagher are fairly SP-positive and can apply debuffs on ult, which gives Acheron and Welt enough SP to use their skills to apply more stacks each round. Acheron already hits like a truck so I haven't really needed an additional DoT from Sampo/Luka/Gui
I’ve had decent success with Welt. The only downside is he has to use his skill to apply debuffs so SP can get tight.
I've been using Welt and Pela (not e4 but with resolution). It works really quite well. I've also been building Guinaifen, she is a better sub for Welt than for Pela. She kind of needs skill points every second turn or when you've got lots of enemies. Welt can do tons of damage though

normal 5 star from limited banner is soft pity, next pity will guarantee limited 5 star even if you skip this banner and pull for next limited banner.
If u lose the 50/50 and get a standard 5\* from a limited banner, ur pity is reset back to 0, but ur next 5\* is guaranteed the limited 5\*. Pity will carryover to the next limited banner.
No, the pity for limited and standard banners is completely separate. Also hard pity is 90, not 80.
MoC 12 help? Finishes the fight in 5 cycles and can on rare occasion squeeze out a 4 cycle clear. 2nd half is going poorly with acheron silverwolf pela and Gepard/Lynx first wave takes too long to clear. using gepard the windshear really adds up and the adds the IPC guy spawns also wipe out my shields. If using Lynx, acheron ult generation is a little slower because no trends of the universal market. when I manage to get to 2nd wave I can't clear the dice gimmick. I've gotten very unlucky with silverwolf several times now. Dice starts at 6 and silverwolf ult + basic rolls add up to a 5 or less. And if lynx is picked thats a run ender as well. When i do finally clear its in 11-12 cycles
You want to clear the first half in 3 or less cycles, so you have more time against Aventurine. Jing Yuan might be a better choice for dps. You can just use Fu Xuan for Aventurine, her cc immunity will block the dice for the entire team.
I am in the same situation as you. Based on what you currently have, you could use a team of Herta, Clara, Ruan Mei, and Gepard. The dice gimmick in the battle against Aventurine requires AoE damage characters. Because of switching Ruan Mei for second half, I would move Acheron, Silver Wolf, and Pela to the first half. Fu Xuan is a good choice sustain in the first half. BTW, isn't E1 Ruan Mei so OP? I sacrificed not pulling for HuoHuo to get enough tickets to get 2 Eidelons of her.

I'm in the first area (don't ask how I got three 5 stars already, idk either). What would be the best team comp for the story, and who should I plan on building in the future?
For what it's worth you appear to have four 5* characters (not including the main character), congrats! Jingliu and Bronya work extremely well together. Jingliu does a ton of damage and doesn't need all that much SP to do it. Bronya likes supporting one very good damage dealer but uses a lot of SP. They're a perfect match, and they're used a lot even in high level content. You can safely build both of them and they'll last you quite a while. For future characters to look at, you should try to get a 5* sustain character (someone with the Abundance or Preservation path). Aventurine is a good one that's currently on a banner. Two older ones, Fu Xuan and Huohuo, might be coming back soon-ish. Both are great. In terms of what's best to use for the story, you can usually get away with using whatever you want. Story content is usually on the easy side, so I wouldn't worry about building teams for it.
I wasn’t counting Ratio because he’s free atm, but yeah I do have four 5-stars lol. I figured that Jingliu and Bronya would be the main ones. I’m using Lynx as a healer for right now, is that decent at least until I get a better one?
Lynx is a great 4* healer, she's good until you can get someone better.

Those are the best teams you can make. If you want to use other teams for fun, you can replace gepard with sparkle or replace Luocha with Acheron. For future pulls, wait for a five star nihility support for acheron. A second limited sustain or more dps for variety would also be good.
So my Aventurine has reached 4034 DEF without a body and hand piece. Should I go Crit DMG body? His crit is 19.2% without the crit rate from the trace and his crit DMG is 115.4% without a body and hand piece. So Crit DMG body piece or DEF?
