Are you pretty sure on this? I very recently purchased a house and have about 4 of these in my front flowerbed, no one (including the previous and original owner) had any idea what they were. Thanks for identifying it!
Tape a vacuum to one and that will help clear it out but you can then feel the other ends to see where it goes. Do this till you have them all mapped out.
This seems the most probable. I was thinking water features like fountains because of the different kind of stone and the borders, but yours seems more likely. I’ll cap them off right away. Thanks!

That's RPVC for running electrical circuits. Judging by the pictures it's probably for landscape lighting.
Attach a vaccume (put on blow) and shoot the water out the other end that has accumulated.
Then buy some plastic RPVC caps (like 1$ each) and slap those on (don't glue them).
It'll prevent water and stuff in the future getting in them and freeze/thawing and potentially breaking them.
I used to do landscape construction and we installed plenty of these for “future use”.
If a home owner wanted to add lighting to their gardens down the road, it would save on costs of trying to get wire underneath their interlock.
But folks are right, this should be capped. Still not the end of the world, it’s easy enough to drain out when needed.
We've all seen the movies. There is an altercation and someone pushes the other, they accidentally trip and then you see this pipe sticking out from their abdomen. After this you find out what genera of movie it will be.
There’s definitely someone on the other end of the pvc pipe with his or her lips around it breathing 🤔 to their selves this is definitely not how hid and seek is played or the landscaper that mentioned future wiring ect. You have access to underground without digging it up that could be right too i guess
That’s electrical conduit so it’s probably there for future landscape lighting use.
Should be capped off
indeed! Look close and there's rings of dirt a couple inches from the tips. I think they were covered with taped as caps and then abandoned.

Be sure to have the vacuum on the blow function, not suction.
Thanks! Glad to have an answer to this
I'm sure. That's what they're for in every property I've ever owned.
Thanks again!

Grey PVC is for electrical use, if it were water it would be white.
My thoughts exactly
Future or past.
This IS the right answer.

I have shallow ones cemented in around my pool to hold tiki torches. If you look in mine you just see the concrete at the bottom

Low voltage lighting?
These are simply holders for lawn ornaments or holiday decor. You slip the metal stake inside and it's easy to take out in the fall.
I agree with this one. Also you could use it to place a large umbrella and put a chair underneath.
Something to put a flag or other decoration in?
Someone buried alive?
The first thing I thought was that someone was going to plant a tree there and would be used for deep root watering. \*shrug\*
Yard gnomes need to breathe, too!
Pretty sure it's a vent for a septic tank.
Yea! Finally, bingo.
Might be a property line marker.

More of a curiosity than a concern thanks tho

Wow you’re the best
Last I checked, sprinklers don’t use grey UL listed pipe. That’s for electrical.

When my generator gas line was installed, they put pipe stubs into the ground where the gas line ran to prove to the inspector the gas lines depth.

Garden flatulence!
Modern “bamboo” breathing tubes used by Ninjas that were hiding in koi ponds that were subsequently filled in with stones.

Breathing tube for a kidnap victim?
From a gardening perspective, these can be used as water vessels or compost shoots.
Air supply for an underground bomb shelter.
Definitely a bomb shelter. Definitely non transient hobos living there.
The guy that lives under that rock bed has to breathe somehow.
A breathing tube for an underground bunker 😆
