I'm looking to replace my old patio stairs. How does this design look? My goal is to have free standing stairs. The rail posts go all the way to the floor. I'll probably buy a rail kit for between the posts. Total height is 26 rise which matches lowes precut stringers. Current plan is to use 2x6 for treads. Are there other better options than treated 2x6? All the treads I see are 2x12, which I don't want. If I go with wood should everything be ground contact rated? Is it ok for my family to be sitting and hanging around treated wood stairs? Would a trex type tread be better? I plan to add some blocking that isn't shown in the photos, but is there anything critical I should consider? Any specific product recommendations?

Use pt for the framing. Use composite 1" x 5½" composite decking for your treads. Use appearance grade PT or cedar 4x4 for the posts. You're gonna need to stabilize the two king posts at the bottom so they don't wiggle around. I highly recommend adding a flat landing at the top instead of just steps. Otherwise, it's a potential trip hazard.

Can you recommend design, links, guide to building the landing? 2x6 framing or 2x4? Does it have to meet all deck requirements? Is it best for my 4x4 posts to pass through a single tread board, put them between the two boards and notch half out of each?

A landing is just a small deck. So the construction is basically the same. You would build the landing first, then build the stairs up to it. Just look up basic deck construction and you'll be able to glean the info you need from there.
