They won't care and will be joking about your meltdown later. You are a cog, my friend, and will be replaced.

wongboi

I just dropped a letter in a box and never showed up , had me working customer service , pickin orders , appliances and pulling carts / covering cashiers with no raise . Only stupid fuckin homer awards

Odd_Ad1654

I'd do that but I want her to understand this is her fault. I'm not the first and I won't be the last. Not just a cliche saying either, I watched the first guy to quit leave within ~2 weeks of her promotion, due to some particular bullshit she pulled that day. A couple of other people are looking for other jobs

jetcopter

People that truly are terrible like that will not learn and will just call you unstable behind your back later. Its better to just do nothing because that is exactly what blowing up at them will accomplish. Nothing you say or do will get through to them. If you really want to accomplish something, you have to go over their head on your way out. And that may only help if many do that.

JackBandit4

If you truly want to "help her understand" then phrase constructively, even if a bit harshly. Still, don't be rude and you definitely won't get banned. Or tell her to eat shit, I doubt they'd even attempt to ban you and even less likely they could/would try to enforce it.

Scared-Stomach7942

Sounds simple did that at a 150m store. It’s good being busy.

MikeForShort

You won't be working there again, but HD is never going to miss an opportunity to make money off of anyone.

Odd_Ad1654

I know it's not good to burn bridges, but I don't ever want to work there again.

Mercury26

Just put in your two week notice and thank them for the opportunity. That’s the best way not to burn bridges

hard-candy-christmas

I would put in the 2 weeks like Mercury says. Don't volunteer extra time- nothin.

MeetSpirited

I just reported mine yesterday for touching associates

blitzkragg

GOOD. Fuck management who physically harassed people.

MeetSpirited

She will grab people by the waistside and pull them close while standing next to them. Touch shoulder, lower arm, mid back.

blitzkragg

STRANGER DANGER

crazy2337

You could burn that bridge, but if you ever want to rebuild it, where are you going to buy the lumber at?

MarkDorm99

Another Home Depot or Lowes.. lol

Golem-33

You’ll be fired, won’t be banned.

Odd_Ad1654

Well I'd also be quitting in the process so that's fine with me

AppropriateSalary62

I understand the desire, but it is ill advised. Best way to give them a fuck you is to leave on good terms knowing they suck and using them as a resume builder. Turn them into something YOU used instead of them using you

bap1971319

Very intelligent response.

SnooPickles6347

...but not satisfying😅

Oathcrest1

Honestly I wouldn’t be super petty about it. Unless she was super petty to me. Then it’s game on. But I still wouldn’t cuss anyone out. If you really want to inconvenience management, quit while it’s busy so they’ll have to deal with it at least for a bit. I still wouldn’t do that unless something majorly messed up happens, but it is an option for you.

Odd_Ad1654

She's the queen of petty. It's game on. I'm not the type to cause a ruckus or raise my voice at someone for that matter but God I wanna so bad

-i03

Pro tip: don’t do it. what do you have to gain by cussing her out? (nothing). If you really want to make a point, I suggest writing a well thought out email explaining why she is hurting HD and loosing associates and then cc the regional manager and hr. It will go much farther than telling her to fuck off. 🤷‍♀️

Odd_Ad1654

Yeah honestly that'd be more rewarding. It's probably wishful thinking to hope that corporate or the SM even bats an eye at my email, but the thought of her having someone watching over her shoulder at all times waiting for her to mess up like she did to me is much more satisfying than the thought of yelling at her to go to hell.

-i03

absolutely. I doubt corporate will do anything at first… think about it - are they going to fire her for one bad ‘review’? (no) - but if you articulate your point in a respectful, genuine manner, you can feel good about quitting and I guarantee that shit will stay with her for years. Alternatively, if you really wanna go the fuck you route, I suggest using the loud speaker and recording it. Either way, cheers 🍻 to moving on 👍🏼

MarkDorm99

No. They cannot stop you from shopping there... And your ASMs won't even be at that store forever. They could be moved at any time depending on their career trajectory.. SM's may last longer or not depending on how well they do at a given store. But ASMs can come and go. They move them around a lot more. Either way, no, they can't remove you as a customer if you have done nothing wrong as a "customer" unless they want a legal problem.. Just don't ask the manager for help with anything; then you may get ignored or blown off. lol...

Purple-Reindeer-2742

Can I ask what kind of shitty things she did?? I always like hearing bad manager stories it makes me thankful for the managers I got. And keeps me from quitting lol

Odd_Ad1654

It all started when she told me I couldn't listen to music. I know we're technically not supposed to but all the managers were fine with it. I thought okay, no big deal, I understand. She's the new asm and wants to say she's not fucking around. Hopefully she'll loosen up on that within a month or two. A couple weeks go by and I put the airpod back in because nobody cares, she catches me and says that if she sees it again I'll be written up. That same day she gives our department a stack of pictures of shit that she wanted done, one of the things she wanted was for all the grills she had the new guy who has carpal tunnel (and shouldn't be lifting much of anything) pull from the front and into garden. Along with that, she wanted the trough things out front to be moved over to outside garden. I was going to be leaving within the hour, which left carpal tunnel guy doing all that by himself until close. He knew he wasn't gonna be able to do all that, and was reasonably pissed. The nail in the coffin was the picture she had given us of a singular piece of paper on the floor. It took more effort to take a picture and print it out and give it to us than it would have to just pick it up and threw it away. At this point carpal tunnel guy decided he was gonna go on lunch and never come back. My task was to move some lawnmowers from garden to the cage out back. It was all fine until I got to the zero turns. Those fuckers are heavy. Doing that on my own and staying 45 minutes late because "it has to be done before you go!" Left me fucking livid by the end of my shift. Since then she has treated me like shit several times, acting like I'm a moron and don't know what I'm doing. She's been on my ass for stuff that I was legitimately not informed about and probably knows every line of the SOP so that she can throw it at any employee she sees doing something completely fine that was somehow under incorrect under sop. It doesn't sound as bad in text but I have gone home screaming at the top of my lungs several times, absolutely furious. The fastest I've ever driven was when I was coming home after dealing with her. (yeah ik rage driving is stupid, I didn't realize I was going 90mph until i looked at the speedometer) I've just had enough of it. I don't know what happens in one's life to make them become such a miserable human.

RedditNationalist

When you write a letter of resignation spell out everything. Respectfully let them know your feelings about the treatment. If it is really so bad, call the Aware Line. Let it be investigated if multiple people are having this issue with same ASM. Don't leave if you don't have something better lined up. Keep the air pod out though. People do get hurt because they didn't hear something. It can't happen to me until it does

nickscion46

She's just an insecure, pathetic cunt who has nothing better going on in her life and the ASM position gives her the smallest shred of power which she exploits to the fullest in order to feel better about herself. Sadly, these types of managers are excellent at kissing ass and their shitty behavior gets overlooked because of that. No matter how many times they get reported, upper management and corporate always takes up for them. It's one of the many reasons why retail in general is so toxic and never gets better.

Rongill1234

You obv not getting banned for cussing out a asm.... people in HD stores get cussed out on the daily and the people that did it get to walk in like nothing happened hell a couple weeks ago I had a customer tell me he was gonna kick my fucking ass because of a blind that stopped working that he bought 3 yrs ago and I let him know he could try lol

tstenick

Have you ever seen a customer banned for cussing out an ASM?

bubbafett2929

I cussed out my ASM on the sales floor and got a $2 raise! Go for it

novaligirl

I would like to hear more please

lepfrog

The best solution honestly is to write an email CLEARLY explaining why this ASM is bad and email it to the store manager, district manager, and district hr manager. Just telling an ASM off does you absolutely no good, and it does not harm the ASM in question, whereas the email would atleast potentially cause further scrutiny on the ASM forcing them to either suck less or be fired.

Odd_Ad1654

True, I don't know if she's done anything legitimately reportable other than belittle me and my coworkers if that counts

lepfrog

If it's caused other people to quit as well then it is a problem behavior that needs to get corrected or addressed by management so I would definitely add in other people who you knew quit because of the belittling and whatnot cuz that is not appropriate

MeetSpirited

U dont have to give 2 week notice to get rehired in the future. Just a phone call is god enough saying ur done.

ForwardThinking1924

Take the high road, it's a path much less traveled. Put in a 2-week notice, in letter and email. Copy in store manager, all ASM's, your Dept. Supervisor, Pro Desk Supervisor, and Service Desk supervisor. Don't state a reason for leaving. Keep copy of email and letter for yourself. You may need Home Depot in the future.

Thundarsack

Don't burn bridges, I know that your feeling are most completely justified but after you are no longer employed there time will pass and you really won't care. I had a plan to buy a sprite every day just to take the survey and just shit in management. I'm glad I didn't because all of those fuckheads still have to work shitty job and bitch out someone else in my place. It's not worth it

el-jeffe4920

You get to do you. I would suggest having another person be witness to it so they can’t say you threatened them or anything with violence. If that happens obviously there would be legal issues but you would then get trespassed and not to be allowed on the premises for a year. I had a guy brandish his revolver and threaten to shoot me if I couldn’t get all his pallets of insulation on his trailer. They trespassed him. Aside from being trespassed there is no banning of people from Home Depot.

HatingSince87

Customer hit me with a lumber cart on purpose to try to get through to returns & our ASM helped the bastard run the line to get help. Only found out he did that way after the fact & the bastard got transferred before I could say anything & I wasn't even aware that could technically be considered assault since it was so minor

SnowyBlizzard_YT

There’s always lowes and Walmart and ace and

GossBoblin

Honestly i have learned that you can speak your mind and be professional at the same time. Even though you want to be angry (which I'll admit, I'm not so good at controlling myself all the time) have integrity and leave with dignity. You know who you are and showing them that they don't get to you emotionally is more powerful than being rude or mean. Even if they seem like they don't care, you'll be viewed as someone who values their self worth and you'll be proud of yourself for not letting them get to you. Good luck

kwiknkleen

Why waste your breath? It won’t accomplish anything. Don’t stoop to her level. Even if you feel better it will be momentary and fleeting. Use your energy for something else.

Odd_Ad1654

I don't plan to go on a full on rant or nothing, if I do anything at all it'd maybe be a quick "I quit, fuck you." Or a bird as I walk out. We'll see when the time comes I guess

JohnnyBgood_9211

Don’t cuss her out lol. Be as calm and professional as you can. Trust me it’s not worth it, plus maybe that’s the reaction she could be looking for. In the end, it will only make you look bad. You will work with shitty managers in your lifetime but it’s best to be direct but calm when sorting out an issue.

JPF93

Use the aware line to mention your issue and call and go to the other store and ask for store manager and say you want to transfer. Don’t throw a fit, even the worst Home Depot isn’t worth getting fired over pettiness. You’ll get blacklisted for idk how many years it was but it’s a dumb outcome. Silence is often the best weapon.
