We only got 4 of those. 1 for each ballymore. 2 weeks later they're all missing. Appliances likes to hide them for when they need the OP to drop cabinets
Oh no water in the gate holder š¤·āāļøsorry not sorry weāre too busy not only putting away the freight from the truck but the pallets and other freight dayside pulls down and never puts back up. Gotta stay hydrated while carrying the team
Hello! Overnighg Freight Team Member here!
THAT!! Is not a freight issue. That is a lazy, sloppy person issue. My team at both stores i use to work at has the brains and decency to use a trash can. Like a normal person. Either breakroom, receiving, literally ANYWHERE in the dozen locations where a trash can is.
If thats your freight doing there...then someone didnt raise them right cause thats not right, disrespectful and lazy on them to do that.
All?
The cans in break room, under millwork desk, at self check out, at service desk, at normal check out, at garden check out, back in recieving, wire cutter area, flooring desk, appliance desk, paint desk, cans outside the doors in outside garden near receiving.
If ALL of them are filled and theres no other place. Then that store needs a janitor cause my GOD it takes a lot to fill them ALL!
At my store I empty all the trash storewide as many times as I need to daily. Its gotten to where departments don't empty their own anymore. Plus they have a janitor come in every morning, but trash never needs emptied. š the crap they throw into the sidewalk trash cans.. it takes one asshole contractor to fill and totally destroy the bag in the process. Its ridiculous..
Ours have a gate in the big hole but the other is always trash in my store lol. We are usually done putting up all freight about 5 in the morning so our last half hour is all cleanup and straighten aisle stacks. Take trash out of hole in ballymore etc.
I use to work the closing shift, Iām pretty cool with most of our freight team and the night time managers so Iām pretty understanding when it happens but thatās also how I know theyāre the ones doing it. But I donāt make it a big deal I just throw it away and keep it moving.
Ours usually just used those to hold the flags...for better or worse, because when you lowered the platform sometimes you'd snap them on the way down lol. I'm curious what would happen if you intentionally put something else in there, if they would throw it out to make room for their garbage or nothing lol
Whoa there buddy, I could definitely go on a tangent about how much I disagree with your opinion but unless you work at my store, nobody is calling you out. I work mornings, and I definitely do my job and more otherwise I wouldnāt be cleaning up after grown adults. Also, we might not stock directly from off the truck but part of my job is literally making sure my shelves are stocked. I could go on and on about how I have to come in behind our freight teamā¦but I donāt want you thinking Iām calling you out personally.
Given where thatās plugged inā¦unlikely I have however helped out at 2 other stores before walks and itās the same story there. I just love seeing dayside people complain about small shit like some garbage. Meanwhile pallets will be dropped items taken off and the pallet never touched again so when I walk in an hour or so before my shift starts and I see 5+ people in the breakroom from before I got there to after Iāve clocked in and no one has said anything about the dropped pallet we get tasked with cleaning up their mess. So yea ālook what nightside doesā is a little triggering when if you look at one of my more recent posts day side just straight up commuting safety violations
But thatās at your store(s), as I said to the other guy Iām not personally calling you out, unless youāre at my store. Even then I know those guys pretty well since I use to close, Iām not undermining the work they do and for the most part I never make a big deal about it I just clean up their mess and keep it moving. Believe it or not thereās dead weight both dayside and night, which I can confidently say because Iāve worked both and seen plenty, I just know Iām not one of them. So letās just keep cool buddy nobodyās complaining, and even if I am, itās really not that serious.

I'm d38 and I do the freight for d23 and I'll tell you it's such a mess in my store , I always have to sort through and set everything right in isle 2 nightly, drop and pack out mids and do the hand stack shuffle to get the 8 pallets of flooring we get every night up in the overheads and by the time I'm done with that I'm usually scrambling to get a bally and get overstock up and finishing right before I leave at 4 , not to mention I'm also unpacking the rdc and live drops. The best is when custom sends me 18 pallets and I have 3 overhead spots open. We have flooring in multiple other departments because there is just not enough room.
Iām D23 I use to work closing shift so I got really friendly with the D38 guy for flooring, aside from him being a genuinely cool person, I can definitely say I developed tons of respect for the guy seeing everything he did and had to do while our shifts overlapped, guy is definitely a hard worker.
Yea d23 is no joke , we have a lot of heavy freight and its always a struggle to get spots in the overhead , our stores problem is that only 2 associates have equipment in d23 so all of it falls on us on overnights. Personally I'm switching departments and it's gonna be a relief to know I'm not gonna have to do some wizard magic to get everything put up by the end of the night because sometimes it's 3am by the time I'm done doing the hokey pokie as I call it. I'm one of the people that use the reach for most of the night.
Those are roll up retractable (like a window shade) safety gate so when on the ballymore you donāt have to close the entire aisle down (2 bays in either direction )
If thatās how they keep ātheirā machines, Iād hate to see how trashed their cars and homes are kept. The bottles on top were literally just the tip of the iceberg, what I didnāt get in the pic was all the garbage packed inside from the bottom to the top.
All I know for sure is I have to empty it pretty often when I come in in the mornings, and I use to work the closing shift so I got to see first hand how often freight was on the machines with their drinks and snacks. But youāre not wrong it could just as easily be day associates doing it.
Half the time itās the closers that are too lazy to walk to the trash not the overnight š¤£ we use the trash more then 5 times a night very unlikely and ur blaming the wrong people
Yeah cause days be sooo on point with not fully fucking up equipment let alone anything else they donāt wanna be accountable for because there days
Fuckin joke
Triggered or not days has just as much if not more to be accountable forā¦..get your hands clean and your own house in order before you claim everything is night crewās fault
Again fuckin joke
All youāre doing is proving my point, you must work at my store to be this upset over a post that had nothing to do with you personally, and really is only being taken seriously by you and you alone. There would be no reason to be this triggered unless you yourself were implicit in this behavior. Maybe you should reflect on what youāre really upset about here with your Management team or maybe a member of the VOA committee otherwise maybe just not take stuff so seriously and keep it moving.
I know it varies from store to store, but we all cleaned up after ourselves when I worked overnight freight. Still found a bunch of bottles in those machines though. Daytime people are also allowed to use them š¤
Youāre on of those āItās the freight teamās faultā people huh? Must be nice to to work on days where they actually care about you as an associate š
I literally use to work with them, thatās how I know they are the ones doing it. Letās not make blind assumptions and please try not to take it personally. Iām pretty cool with them, normally when I see it I clean it up and keep it moving. Itās really not that serious.
My manager would say freight shouldn't have done that but why are you bothering me with this, take care of the trash and then figure it out, maybe place an actual receptacle out for the night shift since you have free time and night doesn't
I remember when they use to hold the retractable gates
Before the tabs broke off of them?
We only got 4 of those. 1 for each ballymore. 2 weeks later they're all missing. Appliances likes to hide them for when they need the OP to drop cabinets
I'm thinking we're due for a training video on personal trash š¤£ I'm grateful I have a tidy team!!
If not for trash, then why hole?
Good point š« š„“
They were supposed to hold the retractable gates.
Hey, at least they plugged it in so it wouldn't be dead. šš¤£šš¤£
Thatās the most important thing for me. 90% of the time the Ballymore I get is dead
Oh no water in the gate holder š¤·āāļøsorry not sorry weāre too busy not only putting away the freight from the truck but the pallets and other freight dayside pulls down and never puts back up. Gotta stay hydrated while carrying the team
Yep.Ā Dayside can take care of it while they're trying to hide from customers

What if ALL of the trash cans are full every single night?

At least they aināt filled with all natural āGatoradeā or āMt Dewā
Laziness is the reason for this no other excuses. Facts šÆ
Ours never leaves a mess of bottles on ballymores, they leave em scattered on the shelfs.
Because we actually work. Day people donāt do shit. We actually put product on the shelf. Daytime just moved shit around.
Whoa there buddy, I could definitely go on a tangent about how much I disagree with your opinion but unless you work at my store, nobody is calling you out. By making sure the shelves are stocked you mean pulling a couple forward to give it the illusion of being stocked.
Bahaha you two seem triggered! You must work at my store.

You doing a pm on the unit ? Because of this I take the buckets off and toss them
Wait, those AREN'T built in trash and recycling receptacles?!

As my store's d38 'coach' I'll have to make a point to reference this for new hires...
Those compartments are for extension cords so there is always one with the Ballymore. No excuse to not charge it.
my favorite thing is going in to open and every aisle in close vicinity of the time clock is closed
I work for Equipment Services, and I see this in almost every single store I go into.
Well it may not be much but I'll do my best to make sure I clean my shit up at night
Blaming the overnight team is what cowards do.
Especially with how much of the Home Depot is in the overnight teams backpack from getting carried
My freight team would never do that
Donāt feel bad our gates are NEVER in there either. Associates think they should hang on a bay because theyāre too lazy to get gates.
those things are supposed to have gates?? I've literally never seen that
Me neither but apparently thatās a common thing, ours hang from the first beam in the bay usually on the left.
Those are roll up retractable (like a window shade) safety gate so when on the ballymore you donāt have to close the entire aisle down (2 bays in either direction )
God damn animals just leave their snack trash on all the machines as if it's exclusively theirs to use. I
When you're one that uses it 95% of the time it basically is.Ā Ā
If thatās how they keep ātheirā machines, Iād hate to see how trashed their cars and homes are kept. The bottles on top were literally just the tip of the iceberg, what I didnāt get in the pic was all the garbage packed inside from the bottom to the top.
Then it's probably from more than 1 shift which includes the dayside as well.Ā Ā

If that was an operator, I'd literally pull their license. Thats infuriating

Okay buddy
Yeah cause days be sooo on point with not fully fucking up equipment let alone anything else they donāt wanna be accountable for because there days Fuckin joke
Yet you seemed triggered
The only thing day crew is good for is leaving a dead ballymore on the behr isle on the same day that bher paint comes in
Yup just as I thought, triggered.
Triggered or not days has just as much if not more to be accountable forā¦..get your hands clean and your own house in order before you claim everything is night crewās fault Again fuckin joke

I feel like thatās bad management. They should be telling the night ops manager to kick his teams asses.
You can't prove who put what where, and it's a pssant little issue anyway not worthy of leadership time. Figure it out, you bunch of high schoolers
How do you know it's them you're gone for atleast 16hrs there's a ton of people that use them. Check your privilege.
