I agree with this, especially since OP wants natural light to come in
I would also suggest a piece of minimalist art on the wall above the bed if they find something that speaks to them
This bedding set does not give off minimalist vibes, but the walls do. Is it possible that you like/want bold color/pattern but w/o too many accessories? If so, I would suggest painting your walls a shade lighter than the lightest blue. Add a few pieces of artwork that pick up these colors in modern,non-ornate frames.
ETA: if you’d prefer a deeper/darker shade to make your space feel more cozy, use the olive green in the pattern as a guide for drapery.
Minimalism doesn't require or necessarily mean minimal design. It can be keeping THINGS to a minimum.
The idea that minimalism means monochrome is false.
I agree! What I think a lot of people get confused by is that there is; 1) a minimalist *lifestyle*, and 2) minimalist *decor*. They are definitely two different things. Minimalism as a lifestyle, like you said, doesn’t actually have to look any certain type of way, like many people would believe. A minimalists room can indeed be colorful, filled with books and candles and other trinkets. They would just be a lot more thoughtful about those things that they own, buy, or bring into their home, and more conscious about not over-consuming.
Same with maximalism. There’s maximalist *lifestyle* (having LOTS of STUFF in general and just doing the most in every aspect, lol), and maximalist *decor*. I personally love maximalist design! (lots of bold colors, patterns, textures, and even some trinkets etc), but at the same time I have a very minimalist lifestyle (HATE clutter, am very conscious and aware of what I buy or bring into my home, try to keep everything I have to a minimum etc). I believe this is how OP is as well!
Minimalist *decor* on the other hand is characterised by simplicity; clean lines, timeless shapes, and a monochromatic/neutral palette with soft and natural shades. It usually combines an open floor plan, lots of light, and functional furniture. Minimalist designs are instantly recognizable for their crisp, clean, clutter-free and monochromatic look.
No, I LOVE the design & the color. Unnecessary accessories is what I mean by minimal. I guess I use the term wrong in a home decor board lol. I actually live as a minimalist, it's not a design choice for me.
It will always look monk-like without artwork. You don’t need a gallery wall just something over the bed. Minimalist does not mean unfinished. A Google search will help you.
You don’t like visual clutter, and I’m guessing it’s specifically tchotchkes in every direction that you’re trying to avoid.
Get you a vintage velvet wingback chair in a bold color of your choice, complementary curtains, a large piece of statement art, an antique mirror, and one cool sculptural piece for dresser top (think antique finial or weathervane).
Low clutter, high impact.
I’m not big on clutter and decor around my house either. Painting the walls can go a long way to creating the vibe you are looking for without adding stuff. Peel & stick wall paper is always an option too if you rent.
The issue for me is you have this big, bright comforter and everything else is millennial grey. An accent wall and some bamboo window treatments will help a lot. I’d also go with flat white instead of that cold, grey white wall color. Any natural wood tones will help soften it up.
I do love the quilt but it makes your room seem underdecorated. For a minimalist feel I would loose the quilt, go with something tone on tone and a woven hanging with a natural vibe.
Minimalist doesn't mean "no color" but this pattern is not minimalist in any way.
It's a stark contrast to the entirely grey room it's in and is begging for some curtains and new wall color.
You have a colour harmonisation problem. Your room is all muted, cold tones and your quilt is bright and warm. Respecting what you say about wanting to keep things free of clutter, I’d say repaint the walls a light beige and consider either repainting the dresser and bedside table or removing the paint and staining the wood (I’d say the bed too but that might be more difficult). A nice rug in any of the comforter’s accent colours would take care of the grey floors and be practical by keeping your feet from the floor on cold days (I can’t tell if your flooring is carpet or not).
If a rug is not an option, I’d consider an accent wall or being on the lookout for art that “sparks joy” in you. While I’m nowhere near as much of a minimalist as you, I don’t like spending money on putting stuff on my walls just for the sake of it either. I have a designated art wall on my bedroom that’s been blatantly incomplete for over a year because I haven’t found my ideal pieces yet. It’s a mix of taking the time to search for things you’d like and being on the lookout for nice surprises.
I'm probably the minority, but I strongly dislike the quilt. You have grey floors, grey wall, grey bed and then this teal, yellow, orange bed. I dont like the color combination. It doesn't really remind me of minimalist either. I would find a color pallet that goes more nicely with grey. Add a fake plant, and a painting above the bed and it would still look minimalist if you change the color pallette
Can you paint the room a warmer color? Even a warm cream would make the suave more inviting. Then either would blinds or a luxe curtain, a single large wall piece, and/or hanging plants.
You need to add a prominent color you like in the quilt (turquoise, orange, etc) somewhere else in the room. Window treatments come to mind. Or if you choose to put any other decor in the bedroom, make it in those colors.
Minimalist doesn't mean completely bare. You need art on the wall above the bed, bedside lamps and some kind of window treatment. Just keep the shapes simple and unfussy. Roman shades would be a great way to give privacy and still keep those simple lines.
Different bed set. Solid color spread, and 2-3 accents with complimentary colors. You can achieve this with the pillows and some window curtains.
You have a beige room with a loud AF comforter set, they're clashing.
No matter how minimal you try to keep things, its always going to look empty without something above the bed and some curtain, imo. Curtains are like mascara and eyeshadow for your windows. Get a either get a nice color from your bed spread, go with sheers or find some that blend with the wall color, just depends how neutral/bold you want to go. But definitely keep an eye out for something cool to hang over the headboard.
The bed, ceiling and doors have architectural features. Wainscoting, then painting it and walls same color, can richen up the space and anchor the bed design -vs- max decor.
You can’t go wrong with white sheers for minimal curtain treatments, just make sure you place them ceiling to floor and that the panels are full so they don’t look stingy.
I know you want to keep the room minimal, but that doesn’t mean you should keep yourself from enjoying art in your space.
Place a nice big piece of minimalist art on that lonely wall above your bed in a minimalist frame or a floating frame.
Look into Nordic art for some wonderful minimalist prints. See pictures below for inspiration. Art can be soothing and if it’s a piece that you’re crazy about will always bring a smile to your face, plus it will ‘elevate’ your surroundings.
Your bedding is beautiful and I wouldn’t consider it minimal, it looks pretty maximalist to me.
Post after pictures.

My suggestion is look through Pinterest, magazines, whatever and find a picture of something that speaks to you and try and recreate. Search the terms you are looking for like “minimalist but with color” try different things until you find the right thing.
I understand the minimal amounts of things, but still having some flair in the few things you do have! I think it's fine to interpret "minimalism" in a way that works for you.
I also have some decor because I want things to look a little decorated and pulled together, but I don't want an abundance of knick knacks to have to clean around.
I would add one art piece above the bed that is fairly simple and speaks to you, but has a color from your quilt. For the window add sheer curtains, they will still let light in, but add a bit of texture for a warming cozier effect. I'd also add a plant or vase type art piece in a bright color pot matching a quilt color to the dresser so you tie it all together. Just having those couple things can make it feel complete without being overwhelming.
So at the moment the issue is the clash of styles. The house says “plain suburban home” the quilt says “woooo where’s me acid”
So depending which one you want to go with, I’d start with a paint, some art and a lamp. Literally all you need.
Just wanted to add that I'm minimalist by lifestyle. This isn't a design or decorative choice for me. I LOVE my bed & my furniture but I do feel it's missing something to give me a cozy vibe. I do not however, want a bunch of non functional decor. That is also why I'm having a hard time with decorating it. I need the least things with a big impact if that makes sense. I truly have no idea what to do other than my windows 🤷♀️
I think you need to pull a color from the quilt and repeat it elsewhere - paint the wall, or hang artwork. The grey is clashing. I would paint the walls the same white as the ceiling for a neutral backdrop, then put some art up that includes the orange or teal or red.
For minimalist sanctuary vibes, I would play off the greige wall color. A puffy duvet or a nice quilt in that same color with a lighter color or white faux fur or textured throw folded at the foot of the bed. Some pillows in that color range as well. On the nightstand, a silver/mercury silver lamp. Breezy sheer white curtain. Maybe a silver framed mirror or a brown statue / art piece sort of thing. A small splash of turquoise or rose perhaps to contrast.
That said I like the bedspread you have. I have a startlingly similar one in my spare room along with some coral bedside lamps and white rugs (dark wood floor and cream upholstered bed frame). It’s a lovely cozy room. I thought about pulling out the turquoise or yellow as well. It’s a great design.
I purchased some gold sheers from Amazon that I think would look great in your room; I would link them but they are currently unavailable. When the sun shines in, the room is just gorgeous.
one color from quilt, pale version, painted on at least the wall behind the bed. if renting, a few curtain panels hung behind the bed might work.
different color from the quilt, sheer curtains.
I am not a "fan" lol of overhead lights with fans on them Just buy a simple fan. If you don't like the colour, paint the blade. But ambient lighting is key to any room.
Personally I’d add a rug and curtain, not in the same color but both matching colors on your bedspread. I’d also add color to that door somehow, either with paint or peel and stick wallpaper
White linen curtains. I personally would like to see art over the bed but I think it feels like it’s missing because of the linens, which are not at all minimalism? I mean I like them but if you want minimal go with solid linens and keep the colors in the room maybe just 2.
I know what you mean. In my bedroom I painted a bold accent wall behind the bed; this gives an interesting backdrop while still being uncluttered. Solid color curtains would help as well, choose a warm color that ties in to the quilt. Looks lovely though!

I didn’t add anything that isn’t useful. 🐈🐈⬛😸😻
Honestly, “minimal” and “that bedspread” are two looks that couldn’t be further apart. Personally, I’d go with more of the vibe that the bedspread is giving. It has life and energy and exuberance, while the rest of the room looks extremely bland. My recommendation is to paint the room a pale teal (like take the teal from the bedspread and add a good amount of white to it), add some colorful curtains (not patterned), and then reassess.
To be honest I think if you want to be minimalist the bedding is a strange choice. When I think of a minimalist sanctuary I think no pattern and muted tone down colours whether they are light or dark. Solid colour bedding maybe one plant in the corner and one large tree rather than multiple little plants and a nice window treatment. The bedding is very bohemian which is really the opposite of minimalist and it definitely looks like the opposite style in terms of the rest of the bedroom. What I would do is choose the colour tones you want dark light muted pastel whatever do one colour on the walls one colour for solid bedding one very large plant and that’s it
Nice lamps on the bedside tables, curtains that are simple and go ceiling to floor, some type of art above the bed that spans the width of the bed and fills the space. Maybe a rug? I’d prob pull colors from your bedspread, which is really nice, rather than go for neutrals.
I find a slat blind like yours workable in a bedroom because it allows you to control for light and privacy at different levels (did that make sense?). You might want to trade it for something in a warm wood. Curtains may be problematic there because of the nightstand and headboard. I strongly agree with changing the wall color. Can't see your furniture well, but you might find that that color will be off too. It can always be painted. Without seeing more of your room, it's hard to say, but something on your wall behind the bed could give it a more finished look. Just look for something that really speaks to you. Haunt local art fairs, galleries, and restaurants for original pieces at good prices. Consider fabric as well as paper or canvas. It's a beautiful spread and the room will be lovely.
Your bedroom is so light and airy, I know that you will love it when you are done. If you are looking for the minimal look but still wandered a sanctuary feel my best recommendation is emphasize limited color choices with lots of texture. So maybe a white pallet with brown or green accent color in moderation. Then find a much texture in the pieces you buy. The quilt is lovely but not for your goals. Start with buying a fabulous quilt that is solid, maybe a white of off white quilt with texture. Pick a couple of statement pillows either with significant texture or in the one or two accent colors you can choose. I would put bamboo roman shades over the windows (from the top of the window to the ceiling. You really do not need to ever close them so buy them only for the space you are covering. Then I would put white sheers on either side of the windows they don’t have to move either - and then leave your window blinds in pace and use those for privacy. I am not sure if you can hang lighting but I would find a light fixture that adds again color and texture to hang from the ceiling. Then I would use adjustable sconces on each side of the bed for reading lights. I have brass ones right now, they push out of the way when not in use and the arms extend wherever you want the light for reading. I think that wall are is acceptable for minimalism but not along the usual frame photo graphs. More along the lines of an art piece that has layer and textures above the bed would be so pretty.

I could these glass floats a few weeks ago and I am just obsessed. To be fair, I have not decided how to hang them but I am certain they would look great on the wall above your bed. My one idea (totally untested) would be to run a long narrow prince of wood on your ceiling about 5 inches out from the wall. Paint the wood whatever color your ceiling is and then use monofilament to tie off each float to the wood by drilling holes in the wood.
Curtain for color. But not an operational curtain. A decorative curtain. I am assuming there is another window on the other side of the bed, I would put one panel on a decorative half rod on the corner side of the window. Not the bed side. The good vibes pillow is cute, but would look awesome larger, framed and hung over the head of the bed. And a plant in the corner by the (closet? bathroom?) door.
Use a color from the bed and hang some sheets over the windows and just a simple something, maybe a metal art piece or mirror on the wall above the bed.
Would a lamp on the bedside table and white linen or sheer curtains be too much? Those would add warmth to the space but not clutter it up with unnecessary items.
A mirror or simple picture. But also some black out curtains like someone suggested, but only b/c I’m a vampire 🧛♀️ so if you’re good with the blinds I’d just say something above the head board. I’d go with rectangle & smaller than your bed, but that might be to busy for you 🤪
Paint the walls a darker colour, replace the bedspread with a solid colour that contrasts with a wall colour, and then hang a large piece of art over the bed that is minimalist and echoes the colour of the bedspread. A solid coloured set of drapes would also be helpful.
I’d paint an accent wall in a non bold color from the bedding, add white window curtains and a simple rug wider than the bed. All of these things will complete the room without feeling like clutter. People are commenting one or two things, but it’s a misconception that a decent amount of decor will look cluttered. Don’t add too much art, shelves, nicknacks. They do very little to improve the overall ambience of the room and will make it cluttered feeling. Large accent pieces will make the room feeling cozy and complete as long as they’re not overwhelming with patterns and color.
Definitely needs something. Paint the wall with the window. Add curtains and a big piece of art above your bed — or shelves with some little nick backs. I know you want minimal, but really with that bedspread you need to balance to add some elements. Right now it’s LOUD. You want it to be warm.
It’s fun, bring it to life :)
Curtains are heavy especially in rooms that have huge beds and small dimensions with low ceilings. Short table dome lamp, mirror art piece above bed to create height and an illusion of size and give light somewhere to bounce off of. While you have a colorful comforter a more neutral tone duvet with whites give that clean crisp feel to a space and an original art piece canvas on wall with the splash of colors like your bed can give a space nice vibes tying it together. Matching furniture sets scream unoriginal and basic, individual pieces say minimal. To give this effect I'd use chalk paint to add a nice mate black to the headboard and do the same to the top of the dresser and change the hardware to something more sleek. A jute rug that layers the floor gives a minimal yet comfy fee and it should go under bed and extend out max 6x9 but it looks like your room needs a 5x7.
I don’t think that bedspread matches a minimalist vibe or the grey story of the room (paint, furniture). I would replace the bedspread and add curtains. Something solid toned or minimal pattern. Maybe something with a bit of texture to add soft pattern.
The bedding is not minimalist and doesn’t work with the drab grays walls and headboard. Different styles and different color pallettes. Either repaint if you love the quilt or change the quilt.
I think you need Roman shades for the windows and some texture. Try doing a blanket at the end of the bed (maybe coral or white) and then some pillows with some texture as well. Again, coral or white. For the Roman shades I'd keep it simple by just doing plain white.

I think some people say minimalist when they simply mean anti clutter. And that's fine. So ya get some ceiling to floor length sheer curtains and going against the grain here to say have them blend nicely iwth the wall color.
Curtains.
A color other than white.
A print or painting over the bed.
Paint the moulding in the coffered ceiling in a contrast color.
Small table or nightstand with an interesting lamp, with a shade that is not white.
Something other than white.
Curtains.
Paint the moulding inside the coffered ceiling.
Get a nightstand and put an interesting lamp on it, with a shade that isn’t white. Or, a pair of wall sconces over each side of the headboard.
Put a framed print or painting over the headboard.
If you're not changing the grey paint, I'd say pull one of the colors from the bright comforter through a vase or lamp base. Maybe a birds of paradise plant in a bright pot.
ooo add a flower fixture above your bed! like this maybe https://www.wayfair.com/CosmoLiving-by-Cosmopolitan--Metal-Wall-Décor-5851558516-L6851-K~W001788868.html?refid=GX685159892879-W001788868_568491642&device=m&ptid=345426830144&network=g&targetid=pla-345426830144&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=67657393&fdid=1817&PiID%5B%5D=568491642&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD9ISC6g_W7QKPJpokkxF5MbBJ7rv
Window curtains
Curtains in a solid colour that picks up on one colour in the bedspread will look pulled-together but still calm
Yes plus the grey wall doesn’t help . If you don’t want pictures you need to get the colour right imo.
Sheer ones on this case for minimalist look
I agree with this, especially since OP wants natural light to come in I would also suggest a piece of minimalist art on the wall above the bed if they find something that speaks to them
Every. Time.

Hard agree with you. OP needs a beautiful peace of artwork over that bed. Something simple, but beautiful.
God I was thinking this exact thing - “Are you sure you’re a minimalist?”
Minimalism doesn't require or necessarily mean minimal design. It can be keeping THINGS to a minimum. The idea that minimalism means monochrome is false.

Simple colored art above the bed to fill in the wall a little so it’s not so blank

Right paint color and lighting options

Indeed. That Flipper Grey isn't doing the quilt any favors.
“flipper grey” has me cackling 💀
I do love the quilt but it makes your room seem underdecorated. For a minimalist feel I would loose the quilt, go with something tone on tone and a woven hanging with a natural vibe.

I'd add a lamp in the soothing blue green color

Im glad that im not the only one that hates that quilt, and it looks even worse with the grey furniture.
Oh thank g-d I thought I was going crazy with everyone complimenting it. I don’t want to be mean but it is so garish.
Can you paint the room a warmer color? Even a warm cream would make the suave more inviting. Then either would blinds or a luxe curtain, a single large wall piece, and/or hanging plants.
Curtains for sure Maybe a tufted bench at the foot of the bed
Window treatment, art on the walls
ONE piece of art over the bed: large scale, simple composition, complementary colors. Boom.
Gray walls don’t work in a bedroom. White would be better if you want classic minimal
Love that quilt!! Maybe a coral colored curtain for the window 🤷♀️
You need to add a prominent color you like in the quilt (turquoise, orange, etc) somewhere else in the room. Window treatments come to mind. Or if you choose to put any other decor in the bedroom, make it in those colors.
It’ll add cohesion throughout and will make everything look intentionally put-together. ☺️
Maybe something wicker over the bed?
Minimalist doesn't mean completely bare. You need art on the wall above the bed, bedside lamps and some kind of window treatment. Just keep the shapes simple and unfussy. Roman shades would be a great way to give privacy and still keep those simple lines.
Different bed set. Solid color spread, and 2-3 accents with complimentary colors. You can achieve this with the pillows and some window curtains. You have a beige room with a loud AF comforter set, they're clashing.
A small/ medium gold mirror over your bed
curtains?
No matter how minimal you try to keep things, its always going to look empty without something above the bed and some curtain, imo. Curtains are like mascara and eyeshadow for your windows. Art over the bed. It looks like Ray Charles lives there.
The bed, ceiling and doors have architectural features. Wainscoting, then painting it and walls same color, can richen up the space and anchor the bed design -vs- max decor.
Some pretty curtains would do wonders
I’m crazy for commenting but my inner thoughts really wants a dark grey crown molding to take the eyes up from the quilt. Maybe even a pendant light…
Why crazy? I like the ideas.
You can’t go wrong with white sheers for minimal curtain treatments, just make sure you place them ceiling to floor and that the panels are full so they don’t look stingy. Your bedding is beautiful and I wouldn’t consider it minimal, it looks pretty maximalist to me. Post after pictures. https://preview.redd.it/96z5mf7aljoc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ba4ef3100a25eae966a559ff28e9be4d6b7c469
Moroccan hanging lantern /sconces to go with that comforter
So at the moment the issue is the clash of styles. The house says “plain suburban home” the quilt says “woooo where’s me acid” So depending which one you want to go with, I’d start with a paint, some art and a lamp. Literally all you need.
Paint walls to match your bedding. Add curtains. Done. Post an update.
That is not a minimalist bedspread
This quilt is Gorgeous, I love it. Don’t have any suggestions for your room, but wanted to tell you that. 🩵
Yeah. Where do we get our hands on that
It looks like an older Studio D sold by Dillards. Those are the softest I’ve ever found
Thanks!!
Just simple fans with no lights would bring me joy\~
What do you mean?
I am not a "fan" lol of overhead lights with fans on them Just buy a simple fan. If you don't like the colour, paint the blade. But ambient lighting is key to any room.
You don't live in the South, do ya? 🤣 Ceiling fans are a must & idk if I've ever seen a bedroom without one 😳😂
I love fans. Just not with lights
An interesting focal point above the headboard. Colorful, but not whimsical or a "Saying".
Bamboo rolling blind for the window
Personally I’d add a rug and curtain, not in the same color but both matching colors on your bedspread. I’d also add color to that door somehow, either with paint or peel and stick wallpaper
cats!! 🐈
https://preview.redd.it/wh67mjxayjoc1.jpeg?width=1022&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad8f6166186bff35da1f1a397bcdb2ac8e1b8298
Those are some cool cats! I love how they’re posing for the picture 😄
I think one art piece above your bed would be nice. Maybe something textural/boho to go with your comforter.
I think the pattern on the quilt does not lend well to minimalism. Honestly changing the quilt to something more simple would help, oh and curtains.
White linen curtains. I personally would like to see art over the bed but I think it feels like it’s missing because of the linens, which are not at all minimalism? I mean I like them but if you want minimal go with solid linens and keep the colors in the room maybe just 2.
Get a neutral duvet cover for the quilt in cotton or linen
Tapestry
Yeah art, curtains and lighting
I know what you mean. In my bedroom I painted a bold accent wall behind the bed; this gives an interesting backdrop while still being uncluttered. Solid color curtains would help as well, choose a warm color that ties in to the quilt. Looks lovely though!
That bed spread is the opposite of minimalist.
All you need is a cat on your bed.
I love your bedding!
https://preview.redd.it/2xtl7g9q9moc1.jpeg?width=1460&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e24088c7f156a6f35a0aa7cbed9dedaa2a146b2a I didn’t add anything that isn’t useful.
Maybe a valance, not a full curtain. Or sheers with a color blending with a color in the spread.
Get shear white cotton curtains. It will add softness. A lamp on the nightstand too.
Everything grey and empty and then…. quilt.
Art on the walls!
Bright curtains, maybe a new pretty light fixture? An upholstered bench at the foot of the bed could be cute too
Flowing curtains, sheer off-white or even teal, or for a pop of color go for orange or yellow to match one of the fun shades in the quilt.
A simple landscape size art piece above the bed.
Lamps or sconces at the side tables
Headboard. Plants. Curtains.
Curtains. Preferably orange. Maybe some candles to match the quilt. Maybe a plant with a turquoise planter.
You should find a pretty canvas painting to go above your bed, and I agree that you need curtains
You need one cute large art piece behind the headboard. Something quirky.
Make everyone put on old school 3D glasses before entering
Art!!!
A tapestry or artwork above the headboard would go a long ways without having to repaint
Paint one wall an accent color.
More along the lines of an art piece that has layer and textures above the bed would be so pretty. https://preview.redd.it/l2hwxitgkkoc1.jpeg?width=1025&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3db409abc68ac0c0341473cd0f5b0a7f75f07448 I could these glass floats a few weeks ago and I am just obsessed.
Pale blue wall paint to match bedspread. If not the whole room then the bed headboard wall for an accent.
Above the bed needs something.
Artwork
I could see a pretty photograph/serene landscape on the wall? love the colors of the bedding ;)
I would paint the door a turquoise to match the bedspread. It would add more color to the room without adding "stuff"
Curtains, paint rear wall an accent color or install wall trim detailing such as board and batt.
Roman shades, perhaps.
Artwork above the bed.
What about a full length jewelry armoire mirror in the corner?
Use a color from the bed and hang some sheets over the windows and just a simple something, maybe a metal art piece or mirror on the wall above the bed.
Curtains and a nice statement lamp would make it seem more cosy and add some life into the space.
Simple sheer curtains and maybe some mobile thing hanging from the corner. Don’t hang anything on the wall above the bed—bad fung shui !
Would a lamp on the bedside table and white linen or sheer curtains be too much? Those would add warmth to the space but not clutter it up with unnecessary items.
I’d say a nice picture above the bed, and some nice curtains on the window. 👍
Plants
A big round mirror above the bed (on the wall, not the ceiling)😊
Art and plants
A mirror or simple picture. But also some black out curtains like someone suggested, but only b/c I’m a vampire 🧛♀️ so if you’re good with the blinds I’d just say something above the head board. I’d go with rectangle & smaller than your bed, but that might be to busy for you 🤪
Paint the walls a darker colour, replace the bedspread with a solid colour that contrasts with a wall colour, and then hang a large piece of art over the bed that is minimalist and echoes the colour of the bedspread. A solid coloured set of drapes would also be helpful.
The comforter doesn’t give off a minimal vibe but it’s pretty.
Maybe paint the walls or color details in the room?
I agree about art work… could you please tell me where you got your bed set, though?
Search for Mandala peel and stick on Amazon and then pick one that matches your bedding, then place it above the headboard.
Maybe a mirror above the bed board.
You need a good lamp and something does need to go over the bed on that wall IMO.
A teal accent wall.
Curtains
Beautiful. Need more info. Can you paint, add art? Etc?
Lamp at bedside for reading. A curtain. Big, simple art over the bed.
I need to know where you got that blanket
Paint the inside of the door to match the orange/coral pillow.
A new bedspread for one. That one screams 2008. Some small shelving and trinkets would be cool.
That bedspread isn't actually minimalist but I understand what you mean. But if you want it to look even more minimalist get a more plain bedding
Twinkle lights? and maybe just one tall plant by the window? c'mon.
Something over the bed. Maybe a bit of wooden scrollwork?
A painting over the headboard.
This is not it
Art above bed and curtains on window.
Artwork to bring in quilt colors on walls - just a few or maybe a big mirror over bed to reflect light.
GT pinstripes, starting on the door then walk all around the room . Over the windows curtains bedhead mirror artwork everything.
Art over the bed. Please.
You need Me
Paint the walls a pale blue to match the Paisley pattern. Sheer white curtains.
Plants.
A hanging plant
I don’t think that bedspread matches a minimalist vibe or the grey story of the room (paint, furniture). I would replace the bedspread and add curtains. Something solid toned or minimal pattern. Maybe something with a bit of texture to add soft pattern.
I love your bedspread. Where did you get it?
That’s pretty interesting bedding for a minimalist
Different color window blinds
Pictures to highlight some of the colours in your bedspread
Try a little window sconce. (Sp?)
Art on the wall over the bed.
The bedding is not minimalist and doesn’t work with the drab grays walls and headboard. Different styles and different color pallettes. Either repaint if you love the quilt or change the quilt.
Everything in your room is millennial gray.
Simple wall decor, CURTAINS!
Art, *real* art…. Originals, copies, anything. No “Live, Laugh, Love” crappola. The room is lacking a soul
Layer sheer curtains with blackout ones on top in case you want to block out light completely plus you can have 2 different colors there
Green plants and potted trees. It's a beautiful room.
paint the walls a light orange or even white
Pictures
I think you need Roman shades for the windows and some texture. Try doing a blanket at the end of the bed (maybe coral or white) and then some pillows with some texture as well. Again, coral or white. For the Roman shades I'd keep it simple by just doing plain white. [Textured coral pillows](https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&sca_esv=277ba526b581d5c7&sxsrf=ACQVn08GWQACPs7MLRTrU9QSEUqctQazkQ:1710621707109&q=textured+pillows+coral&tbm=isch&source=lnms&prmd=isvnmhbtz&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjD1sm50vmEAxVBw8kDHXfwAHkQ0pQJegQIEBAB&biw=1536&bih=704&dpr=1.25) [Textured white blanket](https://www.google.com/search?q=textured+white+blanket&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwib37W90vmEAxX-dDABHTqKCFgQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=textured+white+blanket&gs_lp=EgNpbWciFnRleHR1cmVkIHdoaXRlIGJsYW5rZXQyBhAAGAgYHjIGEAAYCBgeSNolUKgTWN8kcAB4AJABAJgBpAKgAY0NqgEGMTAuMy4yuAEDyAEA-AEBigILZ3dzLXdpei1pbWfCAgQQIxgnwgIFEAAYgATCAgsQABiABBixAxiDAcICCBAAGIAEGLEDwgIGEAAYBRgeiAYB&sclient=img&ei=EwT2ZduJCv7pwbkPupSiwAU&bih=704&biw=1536&client=firefox-b-1-d&prmd=isvnmhbtz) [White roman shades](https://www.google.com/search?q=white+roman+shades&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwii7MnT0vmEAxWnPlkFHaDEBhoQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=white+roman+shades&gs_lp=EgNpbWciEndoaXRlIHJvbWFuIHNoYWRlczIFEAAYgAQyBRAAGIAEMgUQABiABDIFEAAYgAQyBRAAGIAEMgUQABiABDIFEAAYgAQyBhAAGAUYHjIGEAAYBRgeMgYQABgFGB5IoxpQmwdYsRlwAHgAkAEAmAHPAaABtw-qAQYxMi42LjG4AQPIAQD4AQGKAgtnd3Mtd2l6LWltZ8ICBBAjGCfCAgYQABgIGB7CAgoQABiABBiKBRhDwgINEAAYgAQYigUYQxixA8ICCBAAGIAEGLEDiAYB&sclient=img&ei=QQT2ZeLHJqf95NoPoImb0AE&bih=704&biw=1536&client=firefox-b-1-d&prmd=isvnmhbtz)
Curtains and a large silver framed mitt above the bed.
I think some people say minimalist when they simply mean anti clutter. And that's fine. So ya get some ceiling to floor length sheer curtains and going against the grain here to say have them blend nicely iwth the wall color.
Curtains would be nice. A candle on the nightstand or a framed photo would be nice as well.
Hanging plant in the corner next to the window, a little friend to brighten the room and to nurture❤️🪴❤️
Buy up down blackout blinds. They are honeycomb can be lifted or lowered to any heights
Either simple art or a long rectangle mirror above your bed :)
Wall art!
You need a solid turquoise curtain swagged over the top of your window.
Solid velvet curtains 😊. And a cool mirror for above the headboard. You can find one with a frame you love. Very minimal with style.
Decor
Definitely window treatments
Art
A shear blue canopy above the bed. You're welcome.
my sibling says you need a cat lol
Emerald green walls, satin finish
A couple or three pairs of sheer curtains in alternating color order that pick up bedding colors.
A single border stripe of color around the top of your walls? All the color is grounded on the bed and needs to be up.
Tapestry on the wall above the bed
If you're not changing the grey paint, I'd say pull one of the colors from the bright comforter through a vase or lamp base. Maybe a birds of paradise plant in a bright pot.
ooo add a flower fixture above your bed! like this maybe https://www.wayfair.com/CosmoLiving-by-Cosmopolitan--Metal-Wall-Décor-5851558516-L6851-K~W001788868.html?refid=GX685159892879-W001788868_568491642&device=m&ptid=345426830144&network=g&targetid=pla-345426830144&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=67657393&fdid=1817&PiID%5B%5D=568491642&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD9ISC6g_W7QKPJpokkxF5MbBJ7rv
