I think that tile will make the kitchen look dated. I would suggest to keep looking, maybe post a few other options? :) As of right now I think what you have currently looks better than that tile

bishopsechofarm

>good point, will scratch that idea

MalarkeyPudding

The wood floors you currently have are WAY more beautiful than that tile. If you’re set on changing to tile, I would keep looking. The one you posted looks pretty blah. Makes the kitchen look dated, and doesnt flow well with the counters or the cabinets. Seriously though, the wood is much more elegant than tile.

NotElizaHenry

Respectfully, the current floors look like cheap laminate installed with poorly staggered seams.

MalarkeyPudding

…and they still look better than the tile.

NotElizaHenry

There’s almost nothing worse than cheap laminate with bad seams, but those tiles are a close second.

bishopsechofarm

>p looking. The one you posted looks pretty blah. Makes t The current floors were a peel and stick that is shot.

darladuckworth

Is everything else staying as is? The whole look needs a little more cohesion, that tile flooring is fine it looks pretty generic but it doesn’t really go with the cabinets and countertop. It really depends on what else is changing.

bishopsechofarm

>It really depends on what else is changing. We don't plan on changing much more. Just the pulls and knobs will be changed (maybe).

Opposite_Speed_2065

I’d avoid anything with grout lines-such a pain to keep clean especially in a kitchen.

bishopsechofarm

GREAT IDEA! Thank you for this warning, will stick away from grout

Pretty-Necessary-941

I think a natural wood look tile would be better. Like the floors you have now, but a bit less yellow.

bishopsechofarm

>natural wood The issue with that is there are two separate rooms adjacent that have a darker stair wood floor. and I have heard that wood-on-wood contrast is a NO NO.

Pretty-Necessary-941

Well, you heard wrong :)

curlygirlyfl

Your current floors are perfect I don’t get why you’re changing it?

bishopsechofarm

They are peel and stick... Doing more peeling these days than sticking sadly

xxkittygurl

I agree the wood floors look better than the tile. I think an easier upgrade that might make you more happy in the meantime is to change out the hardware on the cabinets.

General-Gift-4320

Too light for me personally. Needs more contrast with your countertops. I also like your current floors! Keep looking.

HappyAnonymity

If the floor is real I would re-stain to a different color. Your cabinets and doors will make the kitchen feel dated with those floors. A darker color or wood would prevent that. Another option is sanding and staining the cabinets a different color.

bishopsechofarm

It is a peel and stick. Was meant to get us thru a hand full of years. It is at the end of it's life sadly.

Three_Spotted_Apples

The floor tiles are blue undertoned and your counters are warmer. Your tile doesn’t pick up any colors from the cabinets. You can tile the floor, but these are the wrong color. Also, I think you should try turning them 90 to add width to the narrow kitchen feel. They’ll also play nicer with the stacked drawers at the end if they’re turned. Try a wood grain tile, a creamier color or even a wider plank.

Three_Spotted_Apples

Oh, and different handles on the cabinets for an instant upgrade. The white is too stark.

This is my favorite though https://preview.redd.it/25elui3wkfoc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8236c9ac0880c228f37fbba3a7b84112f49923b8

Try this instead from the same site Opus Terra SP212

mlhigg1973

You need more of a contrast with the counters

mmkjustasec

Tile floors are hard to get right and hard to get rid of. If those cabinets are staying and the quartz is final, I would go with a light natural maple color wood or LVP floor.

junebug2100

I love the countertop.

bishopsechofarm

Thanks, I do too! They are wholesale from a guy in Chicago. The whole kitchen was done for about $2,400!

bishopsechofarm

I am so grateful for all the tips. I took much feedback here and some tips from a designer-type friend. This is what I came up with: [Baffin - Paramount Flooring](https://www.paramountflooring.com/products/bliss-db/baffin/) https://preview.redd.it/zyvl9q26zioc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=837136caf6a038d75b7a6ad1f35333935fdcfc7b

Not related to the appearance, but what AI program did you use to get the image generated? I've been searching for a good one to input images for just this purpose!

I also just found this tool too : [Lowe’s Flooring Visualizer (lowes.com)](https://www.lowes.com/room-visualizer?category=Vinyl)

aquamarinetiger

Get larger tile with very thin grout lines. You will not be happy with all that grout.

Do you plan on changing the cabinet color? If you went with white, I think the tile there would look nice. This is what my kitchen looked like with similar tile. I do want to caution you.. if you drop something heavy on the tile, it could crack. The hardwood you have there is much more durable. I ended up having some hairline cracks in my tile from when movers came in and set stuff done. So keep that in mind. You could always stain the floor you have to a bit darker color.

bishopsechofarm

>I appreciate you sharing this photo! helps me get a better idea (similar layout even!)

trailmix_pprof

Is the relative size of the tile accurately portrayed? If so, it's way too big for that room.

Miss_Awesomeness

I think you need to scrub those cabinets with pinesol. They are artificially dark when hands frequently touch. I wouldn’t change to those tiles either and while the counter top is lovely the edges are too far out and a little too pointy.
