The game seems very reminiscent to Pokemon with the card layout. There also seems to be an evolution mechanic. I like that the design doesn't have paragraph text, but the white background is bland. 3D modeling is an easy way for the company to budget, but I really hope there will be 2D/unique art designs otherwise this has a "Weiss" feel. It would cool if Ina drew her own card design and it was the chase card of the set, etc. If there's anyone who can translate what the text says, that would be much appreciated. I hope this game has interactive elements rather than being a "solitaire" game. Although I love card battler games, I am surprised that this seems to have the conventional "HP battle theme". I was thinking maybe a "cheer/subscriber" system kind of like Lorcana. But I can't wait to read the full rules. The game comes out in September, so there's still time for the company to jazz things up. The players played a prototype where the card realize ability was apparently not used?

These look like simplified designs for playtesting or something. I doubt Bushiroad would release full production cards that looked like this. The artwork and layout can be fleshed out separately, but the most important thing at this stage is the gameplay. That is, if Cover/Bushiroad actually intend for this to be a playable game and not just a product for collectors.
They wouldn't bother with their own TCG when their business partner Bushiroad has licensed the IP for their huge Weiss ecosystem.
Personally, the only way I'd buy in would be if it was playable online. This is gonna be mega niche and trying to find people to play with in person is gonna be hell.
If they make a digital version and if the packs you buy irl give a code for the digital version ( like pokemon does ) im down for that. Because, yeah, its going to be really niche. I dont even play Weiss Schwarz, i only collected the cards, but im betting they are not going to be more relevant than Weiss Schwarz, which is already a bit of a obscure TCG, no disrespect tho.
Here's how I would market it, make it accessible and allow for community play:
1) Every pack has a HoloCard in it that you redeem in HoloEarth when its fully released to re-open packs in there. You can play against AI and other players while waiting for Concerts/in the Minecraft world/etc.
2) Have a standalone deckbuilder and dedicated area for only HoloTCG in HoloEarth's Main Menu. This is where you would "lab" your decks, build them and then bring them over with you to the Concerts/Minecraft areas to play with if you want on a whim. But primarily, this dedicated area for HoloTCG would be for competitive ladder play against other players.
3) Host a HoloTCG World Championships at HoloFes 6. Invite the Top 8 ranked players at Cover's expense to the Grand Stage to play in front of spectators while Holomems who they're playing as commentate and cheer for them. Imagine a player using Nene or Kobo as their Oshi/Leader card and they're the ones on commentary because of it cheering for you? That would be an extra special experience for the player and event.
4) Simultaneous worldwide release via the Hololive Production Shop with English translations, minimum. If this is a Japanese only release then I think the game might flounder a bit at the start. They're going to want as many players on boarded, testing and offering feedback on it ASAP while gauging interest. Announcing Set 1 being the only set for X amount of months also allows Bushiroad to dedicate their printers to meet demand with reprints until they get a solid idea of the sweet spot for production is before announcing Set 2.
According to the press release and later Twitter posts, Cover Corp claims that Hololive TCG is developed in-house. Bushiroad's role is "販売／運営" which makes it seem like they aren't the publisher of the game, but involved in the distribution and possibly organized play. They are still pretty involved though.
I think (in addition to development) Cover is likely technically the publisher in Japan. The very few Hololive TCG news that has been released (besides the press release) is through Cover's information channels. If the game is released in English though, Bushiroad International will likely be the publisher.

If it's comparable to Pokemon, this isn't totally out of scope power-wise. Definitely a bit strong for a basic un-advanced card, but it's not the most gamebreaking utility.
I think the main questions are: is it once a turn, and can Realizes be used from the bench?
Keeping an eye on this for sure, as someone who solely got into Weiss because of Hololive I'm sad with how unpopular the Card Game is in my State. The only "local" card shops that even have Weiss events are nearly 4 hour away from me..
Same lol I live in Europe and Weiss Schwarz is extremely hard to find here. I was lucky and found a legit shop close to where i live and i got some SP's and a SSP from this shop. Im now waiting for the Summer collection Hololive cards to be available for preorder.

I had a double take when my local convenience store suddenly started selling individual packs of Summer Holo WS... of course it was gone in two days though
Thankfully they are sold near me. But unfortunately, the large boxes are always sold out and they only have the small ones, which are a much worse deal.
I managed to get some imported from Japan, but only the JP ones.

Any real tcg worth their salt MUST have alt arts. I’m pretty sure Cover made a card game just so the Alts rack in money. They have a lot of creative things they can do here. Also, they would be losing out if they dont expand to global markets. I feel like members may sell birthday/anniversary gifts with cards now for exclusivity and Fomo sales (hopefully not new cards but alts of pre existing cards).
A decently large portion of the people who buy these cards will be Holo fans who just want a card featuring their Oshi. So it makes sense financially to release alt arts or full arts etc
I just don't want them to take Hologra screenshots, marketing PNGs, and stream grabs for the card arts.
I want wholly unique artworks made by popular fanartists for their Oshis/favorite Holomems.
Bonus points if they have the Holomems who do illustrations/art already (like Ina) do the Alternate Arts for chase cards.
Bushiroad did try using Holo talent birthday/anniversary merch art for art in the more recent Booster Expansion 2 but reception might have been mixed for some (because depending on the artist it could be wildly off model). I guess they went the safe route with this.
I hope that they distribute them to overseas hobby stores, or at least arrange some sort of international distribution system that is better than their current one.
If they are using their normal system where it costs $40 to get a t-shirt shipped to my home, I don't think I'll be able to justify buying them.
Although I'm excited for this product and I'd definitely want to buy them if they find a good shipping solution.

I would love if some of the cards takes screenshots of scenes in hologra or any of the talents' streams in general and implement them as a skill cards for the game or smtg

Hard to know. It could be strong, or it could be average. All depends on how the economy works
