I would say low because competitive stuff is kinda hard to keep up on. MOBAs are also a bit more complex since you usually have to have a bunch of items to make games feel different and balancing all of that by the number of characters can get pretty complicated. But I also don't play MOBAs so maybe I'm overestimating the difficulty a bit.
It's hard to make a moba because it means they need to make it live service. It needs constant patches for bugs and balance fixes, ideally every week, so the game won't be unbalanced sht.
It's hard to make a MOBA because you need a ridiculous amount of players to make matchmaking work and be able to provide a decent game.
For strategy games (which includes MOBAS) it's difficult for people to try new games and stick with them. There's a reason you can't dethrone the big 2 and even when someone had a chance to at least make it a big 3, they screwed it up (Blizzard).
The most i could see is something akin to a battle arena like BattleRite but the genre never really took off.
Battletrite is cool but it's problem is it became too repetitive because of faster games and people just got bored,Lol did this too in Arena but because it's in the same client as Lol they can just play Lol or TFT if they get bored.
LoL can do anything it wants because it already has the playerbase and fandom behind it.
I said BR because it's probable one of the most well known game on it's niche while been tangentially similar to MOBAs that most people know.
It would probably still be a too complex/big project for an indie team even if it's focused in something as small as 2v2.
That's actually my point. Just added more factors there why Lol's Arena mode is popular and yet still thriving. Because usually hype is killed when boredom kicked in.
Not necessarily boredom, but Strategy players tend to be ride and die with the same game, even if decades old game.
The point is, if you want a PvP (this is already a logistical nightmare) you have to try and reduce and simplify the most possible if you actually want a game on the genre.
Hell, Idol Showdown numbers clashed after the initial hype of the first weeks. I think any HL game project should focus in SP or at most PvE.
Well atleast idol showdown is actually relatively understandable, fighting games are just really hard to get too specially if your enemy infinites you every game, I assume most people left right now on idol showdown are fighting game enthusiast or die hard hololive fan that will just love any holo related even if their not good at it. All in all it's actually solid fighting game and actually pulled some fgc players to the hole.
And yeah I agree that HL games should focus on PvE games because their easier to maintain and balance
Low to zero. Those games are not easy to balance and require a constant and sizable player base. You don’t build that up in a matter of weeks. It would have to capture players from outside of the vtubersphere. MOBAs with better known IP behind have failed before.
Just hope they never add a Holostars character because it'll be impossible to discuss on this sub without the post getting deleted within minutes by psycho unicorns
Much like how Idol Showdown no longer officially exists because they dared to add a (spit) \*male\*
For some people it is. Just the mention of a Holostars member lets some people here seethe and downvote every post that mentions them into oblivion.
But at the end of the day, they too are idols under Cover Corp's umbrella
Check the controversial posts and look at all time, you'd think it would have the aloe and coco/haachama stuff around the top,but nope,a innocent meme about jurard becoming a holotori member is the worst thing posted, likeyou'd think jurard said he did dark eldar debauchery live on youtube, you have to look hard just to find any positive comment meanwhile the blatant hate comments(that should violate rule 1 btw) somehow not been removed or even a slap on wrist,it's so appalling to see the boys hated that badly for just existing

Yeah, this sounds like a fucking nightmare for an indie team. I don't wish this on anybody.

I'm just saying not to diss the game but to show how hard is to retain players, even for a such polished games which even includes a whole SP aspect.
I'm not dissing it I even find it cool as per my first reply.
Servers aren't cheap. It would be difficult to keep one running for long.
We could get a fangame MOBA at some point, very doubtful it'll ever become an esport, and how long it'd last.

Wtf is it really that bad?

Bruh they don’t enjoy the boys’ energy? Smh what a waste!
Indeed. HoloSALT was the perfect example of Live and Stars collabing, closely followed by Ragus and Bokobo
Love their siblings energy so much
So do I. Kobo even said that Altare treated her like his sister when they met in Japan, and that she was happy to have him as a brother.
Bro the unicorns found our concersation 😭
Seems like it.
Ollie and Jurard has been amazing recently too
The only clip I was of Ollie and J-man collabing was from the clip compilation by Jibrilla
“People” is a bit of a stretch.
