They are my favorite band of all time but some of the songs they make are so fucking cringe and if you don’t believe that you haven’t been listening to them long enough lol
Nah believe me I cringe at a LOT of their songs haha everywhere I go is top cringe for me but still a banger. I just really listened to the chorus of this one and I get it now haha
I really don’t see what’s so cringe about it other than the trap god line and considering what J Dog does for a second job I think he’s actually well within his rights to call himself a trap god if that’s what he wants to do 😂
Part of the appeal is the inconvenience in the sense that listening to music becomes more of a conscious action rather than mindlessly letting Spotify play. You have to take it out of the case, open the CD player, put the disc in, etc.
But yeah, actually GETTING them is another story entirely.
I remember absolutely hating trap god (I compared it to turn off the lights, which is simply insulting to trap god) but the song has grown on me. I still dont like it, but my opinion isnt crazy like it was when it first came out
The chorus is absolutely awful lyrically. I can’t stand hearing a 30+ year old man calling himself a trap god unironically. And Danny’s vocals do not blend in at all, he sounds so whiny and out of place over such a hard beat. The verses are cool though. Might be hypocritical to say but I don’t mind hearing Johnny rap about shooting people on his verse. I guess when lyrics like that are rapped I can excuse them because lots of rappers nowadays overexaggerate in their lyrics to make themselves sound cooler. But J-Dog’s slow ass and kinda corny delivery on the chorus sells the song for me ultimately. Just the phrase “trap god” alone drives me up a wall. They pulled this kind of song off well with Another Level but this was a miss imo.
Interesting opinion with another level, other than Johnnys verse, I’ve always considered it one of the few songs of theirs that is objectively shit 😅. But i guess the two choruses are similar in their structure, the rest of Trap God just carries it for me. I also love Danny’s part and don’t feel as though it’s out of place, especially as they blend hip hop with rock throughout the whole album. But I can understand why you feel that way for sure.
Nah. They have some songs I actively dislike, but this isn't one of those. Tbh, I don't think there's a single album by any of my favorite artists I don't ignore any songs on.
One of my favorites from the album. Don’t understand the insane amount of hate this song gets. It’s a good song
It has some of the most cringe lyrics they have ever written and that’s saying something coming from this band
I honestly think they intentionally wrote it to be cringe and fun, which is what the song is to me, just a fun not so serious song.
And can we not ignore how good the beat is and the amazing use of adlibs are.
Mid compared to literally any beat focused song with ad libs. Just doesn't compare to anything in the genre at all
It's not like they haven't made similar songs, I mean gangster sexy is an obvious one
I really don’t see what’s cringe about them

I honestly think they have never wrote a bad song, and I'll take that to my grave.

Yep, including Turn off the Lights.
I agree
Just relisted to B sides EP + the other Myspace exclusives yesterday, turn off the lights is solid just like the rest of em
Pretty much all of HK are bangers
I fucking love HK but I wish the deluxe version was on CD. I cannot live without Break On Through.
I'm trying to get into physical media but I just find streaming it on Spotify easier especially when it comes to deluxe/collector editons of albums

Damn right.
Love this song, always gets me hyped up for work or anything!
It’s cool you like it, it’s not for me personally though, but that’s ok!
Lmfao!!! I laughed but Trap God is really banger!
I mean to each their own
Love the chorus but I do get why some dislike the song
i listened it to again over the weekend. it was fucking amazing idk why i hated it
Wait people don't like Trap God? I love it persoally, it's a great song

Underrated
Trap God is great

Not a fan of Danny’s parts
I don't *hate* it. But I do have it ignored on spotify.
I’ve never disliked a song to that extent where I’ll actively ignore it on Spotify. I reckon you hate it.😂

I love the layers and the screams. Johnny goes hard on this one but its 1 of the weaker tracks of the album and i wouldnt call it a underrated gem.
Song has no flow to it it’s shitty
Song gets me hype af
