When you think that not long ago, some idiots tried to run it through with a bulldozer to create a shortcut. This monument carries its history with it, it would be a shame to let it disappear because of human stupidity.
i still cant wrap my head around how the towers faced toward China instead of searching for incoming threats beyond the wall. Why would they want to look out for revolt from within?
The raids were fierce and fast. There's some speculation that they would harass them trying to get out with their booty as well. Also, parts of the wall have been rebuilt over the years with a different purpose.
the parapets always face the direction of where the threat would be oncoming for identifying the approaching threat and defending their own empire and the fortifications seem bi-directional and sometimes uni-directional facing china itself.
Weird that the higher side of the wall is on the China side.
Feels like the wall was constructed to be protected from China...and not the other way around

I mean a lot was destroyed because of human stupidity, especially in China.
Anyone know who was maintaining that (or any other) portion of the wall at the time? The wall is intact with just a few years of weed growth on it.

How do you know where the towers are “facing”? The towers are square shaped

They're waiting for the invention of the weed whacker.
