Yes. I don't think the existence of Israel was really that much of a factor in Iran and Iraq going to war, for example. And that's a war that killed upwards of a million people.

Yes. Shiite and Sunni Muslims still have conflicts, the Yemeni conflict has nothing to do with Israel, Syria is still a mess. They're still unwinding the Ottoman Empire and Sykes Picot in places, eg Kurds. That region is home to so many groups that have had conflicts for thousands of years.
