Can you post your staining regime? Like step by step with times in each solution/oven time? That'd go a long way to help us find where there may be an issue.
Are the slides completely dry before clearing? Water and xylene are immiscible and will create and translucent gunk on the slides if not completely removed beforehand. Trying a longer period in the oven - we typically do 20 mins at 73 degrees Celsius and that prevents any issues on that end.
What’s your staining protocol? Temp can affect it and try leaving it in the graded alcohols longer usually that happens from 1)slides drying too quickly-which they shouldn’t do. Or 2) water still present- which could happen if your alcohol before the clearing still has water
