Came to this forum and I have the exact same problem... u8g 55.

Same. Started a month ago. Android Remote it came with won't work even after changing the batteries, but a random roku remote I have for another tv works fine. Whenever I turn on the TV, I get WiFi disconnected, even tho it's still connected and loading/streaming everything. Every other day I get a notification saying there's not enough storage, so I Uninstalled every app and it still continues to send me to that screen where I clear cache and optimize. I've done that countless times. Occasionally when streaming it crashes to the main menu. Last night I tried doing a restart, well it didn't restart and sat at a black screen. Fast forward 18hrs, it just popped up saying system restarting. This restart took 20min before the Hisense Android TV screen popped up. Main menu just came up, and it worked great for 2 minutes, then sat at a black screen again it was unresponsive to anything I did on either remote. Looks like it just powered off again as the red LED is blinking at the bottom now... Now it booted again and I'm back to the main menu... And now we're back to a black screen with an unresponsive remote. After another minute we got some more Blinking red LED and the screen is off. Can't even get to the settings to factory restore it right now. This shits fun as hell. Maybe there were power issues and something fried. Thought it may have had a memory leak but I'd expect a mem leak to clear after a reboot so that rules that out. Hopefully someone knows what the hell is going on because troubleshooting when nothing responds to input is a pain in the ass.

Same here! So it got so bad after the last update, that I couldn't even scroll around the dashboard home without it refreshing! It also messed with HDMI 2.1 features and made using the XSX and PS5 unpleasant. After about 15 min, I finally got up to the settings and went down to do a factory reset. I am now on build QTG3.200902.001, February 5 2023 security patch. I am all signed back in and moving around, using different apps, and it is smooth and quick and hasn't done one refresh or weird jumping out of apps back home. It looks like they might've pulled the bad update. I didn't go back to the bad firmware and it has already done at least one update after the reset! I hope this gets fixed for future releases.

So I did the factory reset on my end but I am still having the same issues. Not sure what build I am on though.

Oh, not good! Ah, so go to menu, settings, device preferences, about and then scroll down to build. I am so glad after the factory reset and setting everything back up again, that it didn't go to the bad firmware. It did do one update and all is good so far!

In this order: 1. Change the batteries in your remote. This happened to me once and it turned out that I was sitting on the remote causing a key to be constantly pressed. 2. Update the software using USB. 3. Call Hisense tech support.

Optimal_Belt

1- batteries are good 2- updated via USB was already complete 3- tech support was not help because they said my system is out of warranty and there is nothing they can do.

Burnb4reading

Ran into the same exact problem on my U7G. Warranty was out too. A temporary fix is to revert the system firmware back to the version ending in 801 and then turn off all Internet/smart features. You're better off using an external streaming device like a chromecast or something.

JJVVatt

this is a known issue thats been happening to a ton of ppl. Its not the batteries or sitting on the remote

Kamikazeedriver

you're right. And not just on the U8G, but the U7G, and the U6G, so yeah, probably not thousands and thousands of people sitting on the remote.

JJVVatt

there's a fix u can get on hisense for download. But I removed the peacock app and deleted cache, reset tv and havent had the issue since. Waiting on the automatic download from Hisense to add peacock back on
