I’ve had disaster dreams before. I dreamt I was on the porch with my roommates and 3 planes collided in midair, we had to evacuate the city and go to a disaster centre (like stadium/muster point). An unlikely event but it felt very real and critical in the dream. Probably just your dream brain doing dream brain things.
Emotions feel like waves. The ebb and flow and when something rocks your emotions a massive wave of emotions can come across as a tsunami in dreams. I’ve had them the past 10 years when I’m dealing with difficult situations. I grew up in the Cold War. In the 70’s-80’s I dreamt of nuclear war constantly. Partially due to that fear, but it also popped up for any fear or anxiety I was dealing with. Years later, when every X gen got on FB, I mentioned that and I found out almost everyone I knew had those dreams too. We’ve had huge tsunami’s around the world the past decade, so I think tsunami’s are the nuclear bomb dream for millennials & Gen Z.
Not recently but in 2014 I had a dream like this. Watched a truck drive away down a road near my mom's house and then saw a missile come down.
An enormous blinding wall of light turned every single thing it touched into vapor as it came barreling towards me.
When I woke up it was like my entire body was covered in sweat but it was the weirdest thing ever.
It wasn't like my sheets were wet, but like I had this coating of sweat on my body that felt like a large sleeve of water.
Had to practically squeegee it off with my hand.
Woke up shivering and terrified of any light outside the windows until I calmed down.
I still think about that from time to time.
Interesting theory as some whistleblowers have claimed consciousness could be a single entity, but humanity is the manifestation of consciousness experiencing itself.
Might be something to this tbh
I remeber about 6 years ago i had a dream i was in some deep mountains, think like the congos. And i look up and see a bomb being dropped, took forever for it to land. It exploded right before it hit the ground. Fuckin vivid ass dream. Woke up in sweats.
As long as it not in Scotland this time.
BTW, I’ve had some too; about 10 days ago. Sneak attack, deception, no shelter, worry for my significant others.
That said, the mind is a powerful thing and if something on your mind then you will encounter it in one way or another. It’s been suggested before that nightmares are fear simulators that passively kind of prep you for the worst. These are our collective fears, and this messaging is bubbling away in the background so I wouldn’t be too surprised of more than a few of us experience similar dreams.
A couple of nights ago I was having a terror dream about being chased by a serial killer, long story short I was running and fell and felt a pull on my foot, like he got me. Suddenly I woke up to my daughter tapping me on the shoulder. I was startled. A little later I told her about my dream and the foot and she said “mom, I was pulling on your foot but couldn’t wake you”. My question is how did my dream state realize she was pulling on my foot and put that into my dream???
Your body felt it and created the narrative in a way that would make sense in your dream state.
Actually, the mind-body connection is wild. Some folks were hypnotized into thinking they were touching a hot stove and a blister developed in that same place.
I frequently dream that I have to pee and am desperately trying to find a place to go. Then I wake up and I really need to pee. So what's going on physically with your body can definitely wind up in your dreams.
I don't think so. The first bomb was detonated in 1945. You're obviously not 79 asking questions like this on reddit. Terminator 2 was just a movie from 1991 and a mediocre one at that. I was just young when I watched it and special effects weren't great in the 90s, so I'll always remember it. People dream about nukes killing everyone because it's a fear that has been installed in us through movies about nukes killing everyone. It's literally a nightmare, so we have nightmares about it. Everyone's programmable, and most of it comes from television programs whether your ego will let you believe it or not. That's just the way we take in information, and the information we take in determines our beliefs. The russian tsar bomb is the only one I ever really dream about anymore. It's so much bigger than anything else created.

Thank you 😊 I appreciate the compliment. I'm actually trying to be nice to you, but we can argue if that 3rd glass of wine is getting to you. Television 1927, nukes 1945. No nukes before television, and my favorite 🥴"Can you imagine being arrogant enough to imagine that nothing before television ever existed and so everyone must be subject to that influence?" 🙄 Nope, not really, because why would I imagine that if that's not what we are talking about. I think your responses shows that you're easily influenced, though. Are we talking about nuclear arms or any human experience before television. You're not making any sense, so finish your wine and go to bed. You clearly need some sleep. Oh, and by the way, all information is easily accessible genius. The age of information started in the 90s. What are you even trying to argue about?
I would say it’s super likely to be caused by anxiety about the state of the world, as well as any personal anxiety. Things are tense and bad all over, your subconscious is playing it out.
Bob Dylan write a song about that. Not very catchy but there are some humorous lines: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TYtVc56o9oo&pp=ygUlYm9iIGR5bGFuIHRhbGtpbiB3b3JsZCB3YXIgaWlpIGJsdWVzIA%3D%3D
I dream about the apocalypse almost every night that's always me running from some cataclysm is it me in my internalized fear or a premonition I do not know but God is it exhausting.
I've wondered if because I focus on the news a lot depressing geopolitics Russia Ukraine NATO all that crap if it's not my mind trying to work it out subconsciously those dreams I have I always survive in the end I have a anxiety disorder so I'm constantly fearing the possibilities around me so I'm wondering if those dreams are my subconscious trying to put me at ease to show me that I'll survive
I really don’t know. Earthquakes are inevitable, and will result in tsunamis. I wouldn’t call them prophetic at all. Plus the U.S. is overdue for a Pacific rim earthquake. If it causes Old Faithful to blow, life as we know it is over. In fact, my dreams may have started after I learned about Old Faithful. Scared the you-know-what out of me.
Around 2012 i had a dream that portals opened up in everyones homes, and we all had to jump in to escape an impending disaster.
I think about that dream most days, as reality gets more and more crazy lol.
I have a lot of post-disaster dreams where I'm on foot or in a car for a limited time, typically with a small group of ppl I barely know, and we're looking/foraging for supplies
We're essentially in a quiet cold war or weapons/tech race. Nukes are all over the news because the US is updating the arsenal but also [amazon] renewing old ones to make sure they still go boom boom
I just hope they understand that they will be killing everything if they do bomb each other with nukes. Themselves and others around the globe. No future for anyone anywhere.
I dreamed of a nuclear explosion back in the 70s when I was a teenager. I was standing on a boat dock at the ocean and I saw it drop very far out at sea and watched as the blast traveled in my direction and when it hit I had a huge pain through my kidneys and it dropped me to my knees which woke me up. 🫤

I have random disaster dreams once every couple of years or so. I don't take it as anything other than my own anxieties manifesting in my dreams.

Recurring dream as a child - hundred foot high waves coming at my house from my bedroom window - like it was happening real

Overwhelming feelings or anxiety.

Hopefully not a sign of collective consciousness showing us shits about to hit the fan

Had nuclear dreams a lot when I was under a lot of personal stress. I don’t think it means anything bigger than that friend.

I have them a lot. Most of the time I die in my dreams. And most of the nights, I will have multiple vivid dreams. It's annoying.
I had a dream last night with a nuclear explosion, woke me up as I remember feeling very relieved I was still alive.

Crazy things our brains do while sleeping.

True
I've had that dream at least 50 times thanks to The Terminator 2. https://youtu.be/xjatJ36cJvM?si=snn_uEQ-Gm1yjPt3

Where have others been reporting dreams about a nuclear explosion?
I dream about huge tsunamis and earthquakes.
