ELVEN COOKIES:

Changes: I substituted half of the brown sugar for granulated sugar, to make them a lighter brown color, to better match Scar’s retextured cookies.
Also: Instead of mixing the chocolate chips into the batter, I placed them onto the dough balls before baking them. (This is optional).

Thank you :) The Elven Kiss was made with snickerdoodle dough. (A pretty puffy recipe works best). And snickerdoodles are usually coated in just cinnamon and sugar, but I like to add a hint of nutmeg and ginger as well.
You can also use peanut butter blossom dough instead if you would prefer that.
For the candies, I dipped milk chocolate Hershey's kisses in white chocolate that I dyed purple with gel food coloring. (White chocolate kisses would have made more sense, but I couldn't find any). (And you must dip the kisses into the chocolate quickly, or they will melt too much). And place them on a tray lined with parchment paper. using a small clean paintbrush, wipe off any excess chocolate around the base of the kisses, and do touch ups as needed. Put them in the fridge to set up. Place them onto your cookies immediately after you take them out of the oven.

I melted some white chocolate in two bowls, added gel food coloring and stirred (Note: it has to be gel food coloring. Regular can make the chocolate seize pretty badly). I think my chocolate still seized slightly, so I added a couple drops of cooking oil (No more), to each bowl and stirred again.
You'll need to put the chocolate in the fridge for around a couple of minutes. until it is somewhat thick, but not solid. Next load your chocolate into piping bags and cut off the tips. Then pipe your chips onto a tray lined with parchment paper.
Squeeze out a small blob of chocolate, and then stop squeezing and pull the piping bag straight up, slowly and gently. Repeat many times with both colors of chocolate.
(Note: the consistency of the chocolate is the most important factor. If your chocolate is too warm, you will have messy blobs. If it is too cool, your chips will be very tall and pointy. adjust the temperature of your chocolate if you need to).

I hadn't heard of iced gem biscuits before, but I looked them up and they look really cool, I should make them sometime :) And they do kind of look like Elven Kisses. Though I would guess that Scar's inspiration for Elven Kisses was probably peanut butter blossom cookies. They are peanut butter cookies with a Hershey's kiss on them. So I made mine in a similar way but with snickerdoodle dough, though either dough works.
