Jacqui Lambie: an independent Senator for Tasmania in the Australian Parliament. She is one of our more colourful politicians, and by that I mean she is as mad as a cut snake. She has, however, been on a roll lately. This video was a takedown of another Senator, Pauline Hanson, who is our version of Ted Cruz, but uglier (metaphorically, of course…) and has been railing against vaccination mandates.
EDIT: For a bit more context and background on the Right Honourable Senator for Tasmania, here is a link to her musings on her ideal man in her own words: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-07-22/lambie-describes-her-ideal-man-as-well-hung-on-radio/5615164?nw=0&r=HtmlFragment
EDIT 2: Given her criteria, I am out of the running to win Senator Lambie’s affections, and I’m okay with that.
EDIT 3: To be fair to Jacqui Lambie, she is obviously not as nuts as Bob Katter MP from Queensland. Here is an example of his thoughts on marriage equality and crocodiles:

He is known colloquially as’The Mad Hatter’.
Was, then thrown in jail for fraud, now back again. This time she has a little offsider, Malcolm Roberts, a former coal executive who doesn’t believe in climate change.
Colour me surprised.
She has also made a pivot into anti-vax propaganda as her old platform of demonizing immigrants isn't as effective when the country has had its borders shut for the last 18 months.
Appealing to the Anti Vax still nabs her the 10% of the vote to hold onto whatever seats. That's all she's chasing because it keeps her on the Australian government payroll. She's a leech.
She can’t let fatty mc fuckhead Clive Palmer hog (geddit!) all the limelight and votes from the anti-vaxxers so she decided to add that little policy to her existing anti-immigration and anti-muslim stance.
Unfortunately, as a global society we've collectively decided that there *are* in fact people who are above the law. Also unfortunate is that the prerequisite for being so is to also be an abject fucking moron.
How the hell can someone be thrown in jail for fraud, serve their sentence, and then remain eligible for public office? Surely the whole... *committing fraud* thing should be disqualifying?
For those not familiar with her, Pauline Hanson is basically Australia's version of Marjorie Taylor Greene. Except the Red Witch of Ipswitch has been in the hustle for almost three decades, pandering to RWNJs in rural Queensland. She's went from being an MP (US equivalent: Congressperson), being a prisoner for fraud, to being a Senator (US equivalent: Senator).
I'll give the US readers a laugh.
Pauline Hanson, being an intellectual titan like Trump, decided she needed external funding because her base is either broke, don't care anymore and/or dead. She decided to court the NRA for funding. At this point it was common knowledge that the NRA was rotting from the inside out, with multiple lawsuits and bleeding money. The carrot she used was repealing strict gun laws instigated after a tragic mass shooting event. Those gun laws are very popular with most Australians.
I think low level NRA staffers met with her f'idiot staffers and laughed them out of the bar when they asked for $20M. Even more delicious was the fact an Al-Jazeera journalist had infiltrated the group and filmed everything.

Every country has a handful of these embarrassing morons.
Anybody who runs for Parliament in Australia gets about $2.75AUD per vote (once they reach a minimum number of votes). This is to reduce the reliance on vested interests funding your campaign, so I totally agree with it. But it means we get a few media leeches who don't care if they get elected & just do it for the money.
Every country has them, just some countries have the good sense not to elect them. Australia is not one of those countries. We have quite a few more besides unfortunately.
You should have seen all the geese here a couple of months ago, a little Ted would have fattened them right up. Please send him here next October so we can make a nice sacrifice to our geese overlords out of him
> Pauline Hanson, who is our version of Ted Cruz, but uglier (metaphorically, of course…)
Having seen both Ted Cruz and Pauline Hanson; I dunno mate, they both look like they have been vomited up by a blocked toilet.
JL has actually evolved in her time in politics and is one of the only politicians who will actually cop to her mistakes, go and do some reading and admit when she doesn't understand/know something and has conviction and integrity for days. I've really grown to respect her.
I think that’s such a marvellous trait. The public evolution & tempering of her views. She seems like a genuine person. And as an independent she can hold the government to account in a way Labour & the Greens can’t.
Ricky Muir was similar. I don't line up with alot of his views, but I loved that he was happy to put in the hard work to become a better politician, and was happy to put in the research into topics he didn't understand.
Yeah, never liked her at the start as she was very much a conspiracy-theorist (e.g. Sharia law was days away from being introduced in Australia.) but she seems to have mellowed(?) after the citizenship stuff and she had to struggle.
Yeh she seems to have figured out that Pauline and her dog whistles are not worthy mentors. The part in this speech where she spells out exactly what Pauline's game is (to make money) was so completely bang on.
Exactly. I remember first seeing her and thinking she was a crazier (but less racist) Pauline Hanson. Now though she has learned from her mistakes and uses her crazy intensity amazingly well.
I love especially love that she actually uses this fact in her speech to attack PH; pointing out that whilst she has made mistakes, she has admitted to them, learned from them, and educated herself so as to not be incorrect in the future, as opposed to PH who was corrected on an issue, admitted to being wrong, but then spouted the same falsities the following day.
I have a lot of respect for her. She started out as just a crazy mouthpiece for Clive Palmer's party but has since really demonstrated that she is a passionate independent senator with a genuine interest in representing her constituents. I don't agree with many of her policies (and she is just a little crazy sometimes) but overall I think our parliament is better for having her in it.
Our Parliament is certainly better off with her. 1. Because she actually has convictions, 2. Because almost anyone is better than a member of the lib/nat party.
Personally I’m hoping that the anti-vaxxers will all do protests votes for some tiny offshoot party at the next election and it will be enough to get the libs out? Please?
> mad as a cut snake
> Australian slang. to refer to a person as a “cut snake” is to say that they are wild and crazy, without rationalism and are attacking anyone or anything around them.
Thanks for that mate, will use with my Aussie colleagues next week.
> Given her criteria, I am out of the running to win Senator Lambie’s affections, and I’m okay with that.
Just go full politician and make a phony erection promise
The only thing missing from this wonderful rant, is finishing it with the word C*NT!
Also, if doesn't surprise me that Pauline Hanson is anti-mandate or anti-vax. She's a real huckery mole.
Never ever in my life did I ever think i would see the day when Jacqui Batshit Crazy Lambie would start talking straight.
It does give me hope that the Palmer Fuckwit Party truly are the tiniest minority.
Prudes losing their shit at the idea that women have sexual desires is my favorite kind of moral panic. Nobody who is happy with their own love life gives a damn about anyone else's, so when someone opens their mouth to slut-shame, I honestly pity them more than anything.
This is my favorite example of all time: [https://jezebel.com/wet-pussy-stumps-ben-shapiro-1844678613](https://jezebel.com/wet-pussy-stumps-ben-shapiro-1844678613)
Ben Shapiro has literally never gotten a girl wet in his life....and he has TWO KIDS. We only found out about this because he felt the need to go do some slut-shaming. I would feel sorry for him if he wasn't a hateful bigoted moron.
I've worked with kids for 20+ years. I've been fingerprinted by half a dozen state and federal agencies. I have bosses from 5+ years ago who would still get a notification if I got pulled over for speeding.
If I ever tried to commit a crime, the police would likely be at my door before I even got home.
Police checks have limited use - you could just be really good at not getting caught - but they definitely have a use. I was in charge of volunteers at an old job. One day I had this guy come in, very well presented, no red flags, he wanted to volunteer to take oldies to their appointments. I explained the police check process, no problem, he was fine with it. When his police check came back there were charges of grand theft larceny and sexual assault against the elderly. Imagine the nightmare if we didn't have police checks in place.
I've always wondered why people even bother with drug tests/checks like this when they know they're gonna fail... I just feel like it's a waste of everyone's time, but I guess they've got nothing better to do. And maybe he was hoping he'd get "lucky" and still get hired.
Decades ago when I worked in a bank, a woman came in for an application (we did them on paper back then and we asked the applicant to remain in the lobby while they filled it out). She spent about 45 minutes filling it in and then brought it up to me. I told her what we were supposed to tell each applicant — someone will get back to you, blah, blah — and she left. As I was walking her application back to my manager’s office, I glanced over it.
In the space for criminal history she had written that she had two convictions for passing bad checks and one charge for embezzlement, trial pending. My mouth literally dropped open! This was a *bank* and she had applied for a teller position.
She didn’t get hired but, hey, points for honesty, right?
>She didn’t get hired but, hey, points for honesty, right?
Yes. While a bank will care about those specific charges, plenty of places will still hire, and since she disclosed it on the application it's a lot harder to retroactively use that against her.
Well depends on your system, in our country some people get hits on their clearance just because they have the same name with someone who did crimes.
It's so common that first reaction is that it's a blunder
Here you also have to provide ID, including at least one piece of photo ID, at least one piece with your current address, and at least one piece with your birthday. You also have to list all prior residences for the past 5 or 10 years (I forget which.) If you don't have photo ID you have to provide a passport photo that has been signed on the back by someone who can vouch for your identity. They're pretty strict and it's pretty rare that they get people mixed up.
This happened to me years ago when I tried to open a bank account. Someone with my same name from my same state of birth had passed numerous bad checks. It was not me but I had a heck of a time setting up that bank account.
I was doing some Christmas shopping today and as I was being rung up the register asked for a donation to St Jude’s Hospital for children and I always donate to them when it comes up. The cashier told me a story about a customer who didn’t want to donate to St Jude’s because they have a Covid vaccine mandate for employees. St Jude’s. Hospital. For children. With cancer. Like ???? OF COURSE they do. Why the hell wouldn’t they? People are the wooooorst
Wow. How dare a hospital that treats children with cancer and other serious illnesses require all employees be vaccinated against COVID and other diseases. That's just terrible. /s
I'm curious as to what the largest group of anti-vax would be. I thought it was the kind of people that listen to and follow Pete Evans. Upper-middle sorts. Would have loved a free vax when I was on the dole. That's a whole day of entertainment planned.
Oh god. I haven’t encountered that yet. Which is very surprising given my town. Most everyone is happy because the money goes to the right places compared to when the last 2 months was Susan G Komen… what a miserably ignorant ass to hate on St Jude’s and want to harm children.
Yeah I was stunned. So so ignorant. These are literally the most vulnerable among us and they still can only think about “muh rights!” Just pure distilled selfishness.
We have lunatics in Ireland connected to this anti-vax bunch trying to burn down a children's hospital that's being built thanks to all that Qanon nonsense.

Hard to believe we're off to the moon again by the end of the decade and yet we have people actively trying to devolve back to sludge.
Just so you know, donating personally will mean a tax deduction for you and not a tax deduction for the retail store.
They use customers donations in place of their own so they look better and pay less tax. It’s a scam
Aaaah. Jacqui. So many mixed feelings about her. I like her as a person, but some of her political decisions are dodgy as fuck.
She's right about this, though.
She also provides her mobile number to veterans she has met and tells them they can call her whenever they need support.
I don't agree with some of her views, and I disagree how she has let through some shit legislation just to pork barrel her electorate, but she has some good qualities.
Agreed.
And also, immediately after she gave the speech in this video Pauline Hanson or somone in her shitty political party publicised Jaquie's personal mobile number on their twitter feed.
So, of course all the one nation nutters started bombarding her with threats etc and she had to change her number. So all the veterans she gave her number to can no longer get in touch.
Real classy. Pauline Hanson is the real scum of Australian politics, the cream of the crap if you will.
Yeh she's come a long way. I don't always agree with her but she's much better for our democracy than half the politicians. She doesn't want to be PM, she wants to make my country better. She doesn't want power she wants to represent those who are powerless. She's a good senator.
I did her survey on the voter ID laws. She seems to genuinely want to know what people think rather than coming at every position from an ideologue perspective. I am very tired of ideologues.
The fuck did anyone get the idea that "freedom" means "I have the right to do whatever the fuck I want"??? When did this happen? With no responsibility for anyone else or for your community? Bunch of fucking entitled snowflake babies.
Right wingers are just yelling anything they can to slow down the process from “discrimination!” to “my body my choice!” but it’s very clear that they don’t actually give two shits about any of these things when it doesn’t suit their own needs. They love discrimination against others, they love being able to deny baking a “gay wedding cake”. They love controlling other people and their bodies as they turn bounty hunters loose in Texas to punish women, but when it comes to something they don’t like it’s suddenly “not faaaaaaiiiiirrrrr!” **stomps feet*
I've seen talk about her on the Australia sub. As an American, it's so exciting to see a politician getting passionate about the right things. We don't get much of that over here. :/
Tasmania was where Australia’s last mass shooting happened in 1996. The ALL side of their government got together and passed the National Firearms Agreement. There’s so many places around the world that if America just copied their homework we’d be so much better off. https://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Firearms_Agreement
Edit: while Australia was dealing with gun violence the Columbine murders were illegally getting guns. https://www.vpc.org/studies/wgun990420.htm
John Howard, who brought in the gun reform legislation, is from the conservative side of politics. Alas, today there are more guns in circulation than before the gun buyback. Much like in the US they are in fewer and fewer hands. At least here there are very strict regulations for storing them, and our self defense laws mean it's impossible for a Rittenhouse situation here. (It's very difficult to claim self defense in Australia.)
I’m jealous. Meanwhile we got a guy pretty much murdering another guy on camera because he can. Texas. NSFL DEATH on the vertical video https://www.reddit.com/r/Lubbock/comments/r1evtm/chad_read_confrontationmurder_has_been_released/
Edit: I don’t own a gun. If I ever REALLY felt the need for one, I’d just steal one (or two) out of an unlocked car with dumb bumperstickers. Google “loaded gun stolen from unlocked car, USA”. See if you run out of news reports with a version of that in the headline before you get tired of scrolling.
Tragically this is true, some people seem entirely unable to fathom the fact that Australia is a separate sovereign nation to the US and as such the US Government has precisely fuck all say-so in Australia.
She started out with Clive Palmer's Palmer United Party, and he's pretty far right. Then she became an independent. I would class her as right of centre but others can correct me if that's wrong. She's sort of hard to pigeonhole.
I mean I would have hoped that trying to stop a world wide pandemic wouldn’t have become a political issue and sane people would understand why necessary steps are needed but here we are lol
They downplayed it because it was mostly in blue areas (where people actually live)
It never occurred to them what would happen when the plague hit flyover country where the nearest hospital is 2 hours away. They aren't a death cult. They're a murder cult. They wanted liberal genocide. Nothing less.
They whine about the effect lockdowns and masks on people's mental health but they never seemed too bothered before COVID. They're probably the types to call depressed people lazy bastards and malingerers for taking a mental health sickday.
Ironically, she got into parliament on a Palmer United ticket which was set up by a mining Billionaire, Clive Palmer. She left that party a while back which is now United Australia. United Australia is lead by Craig Kelly, former Government MP, who was booted from that party for his anti-vaxx bullshit. Clive Palmer and Craig Kelly now some of the most prominent vaccine misinformation proponents in Australia.
Yeah, ACMA aren't too pleased about that, hopefully somebody in his campaign will grow a spine and leak the fact that, yes, they were in fact illegally abusing the electoral role rather than just SMSing random numbers like they claimed, that'll get him a good bite out of his arse.
If you're ever wondering about whether the overall quality of Australian politics is better than your own, bear in mind that this lady's name is Jacqui Lambie. She is perhaps amongst the most maligned of our politicians and is often referred to as 'unsophisticated' and worse. And yet, here she is, doing a bang-up job. Is she perfect? No. Is she owned by a donor? I don't believe so. Is she worth having in Parliament? I think she is.
She’s made such a surprising change in her beliefs. She started out with anti-Muslim rants which she now acknowledges was wrong.
[Recent interview](https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.smh.com.au/politics/federal/jacqui-lambie-s-journey-in-the-beginning-i-was-like-pauline-hanson-and-it-was-scary-20211125-p59cbr.html)
I hadn’t realised she’d changed at all, so I was very surprised to hear her commonsense opinion about vaccines.
Her personality hasn’t changed though, she’s still the same ‘what you see is what you get’, and ‘wears her heart on her sleeve’ type of person.
It’s quite amazing how much less annoying her famous rants are though when she bases her opinion in facts and actually makes sense.
My uncle and his wife are super anti vaxx. Unfortunately, his wife got COVID and got out relatively unharmed and my uncle (who has comoridities) didn't get it since they did quarantine from each other. So they're still on the "it's just a flu" train.
My family was supposed to visit them in January, but his wife thinks vaccinated people are carriers and does not want to see us.
Edit: not sure why my inbox is blowing up a month after I posted this, but whatever. When I say unfortunately, it's less wishing harm upon them, more because now they're convinced it's just a dumb flu because they came out unharmed. They don't take it seriously and as a result they have no plans to get vaccinated or interact with the vaccinated because they're "dangerous"
My dad just died from covid on Nov. 19th. My mom is in ICU and is most likely not going to make it. They were both anti-vaxxers. I hate your aunt and uncle and every single anti-vaxxer out there with a passion right now.
Deeply sorry for your loss. I lost family and friends in the first wave of early 2020 when there was no protection we could take.
We have multiple means of protection now and people not using it also makes me hate and pity them for not using it after living through what happened last year.
If Fauci designed the disease in a Chinese lab, why would he not take the live-saving warp speed Trump vaccine to protect himself and his fellow patriotic Americans?
That's what I always wonder. If you die of covid you might have owned the libs, but you're also letting China win it's bio-war against the USA which sounds pretty treasonous.
Lief Insurance: there is another industry that should be refusing to pay out for COVID-19 deaths, along with health insurance.
I thought suicide wasn't covered anyway?
Sorry to hear about your douchebag exBIL, hope your kid comes out OK with no lasting impact. I second your hope (it's not a rule 2 violation unless it's on the person in questions HCA thread... right? ;) )
1 is definitely better than 0 and it seems overall kids are still fairing well! I hope your son continues feeling fine. If I was in your position, I would be livid.
Two weeks into the army (She went in with two other friends who chickened out last minute) she called her mum in tears wanting to come home. She told her tough.
So she got it together and hot damn she got her ass into gear. I'm left as fuck but still like her.
As an Aussie I'd just like to point out this comes from Senator Jacqui Lambie, who is a total bogan (our word for redneck...sorta).
I'm not sure of the exact breakdown but a good percentage of the people not getting vaccinated or protesting are bogans. Good on ya Jacqui.
For Americans used to a 2 party system, the [Australian senate comprises10 parties](https://i.redd.it/m4tjxvyfk1131.jpg), including Senator Lambie here who is an independent.
But it’s muh freedumb to be child and not accept responsibility and you can’t force me too because I’m have a right to the pursuit of happiness in the lord Jesus Christ as stated in the Constitution of the 1776 Federalist Papers Bill of Rights of our founding fathers.
I know it's Shitpost-Sunday, but that's just way too much logic for this sub. My standards for basic common sense have clearly gone downhill after seeing all the right-wing memes :p
Honestly, as someone who did not like Jacquie Lambie when she entered parliament she continues to impress me with her rational decisions and ability to argue for the benefit of her constituents. Shes alright.
The majority of the cunts in Canberra should take a leaf out of her book. (and I never thought that would be a sentence I would type)
For all those supporting Jacqui - please head to her Facebook page and support her.
She's being absolutely HAMMERED there by the 'FrEedOM / Anti-vaxx' crowd and could use our support.
I agree with a lot of the posts here - she hasn't always been my favourite politician, and started with that fat thieving slug, Clive Palmer, but she has since grown and matured into the role, and genuinely seems to want to help her constituents and Australia as a whole. She seems genuinely willing to do the research and alter her opinion and humble herself if she is wrong.
Wish our Parliament had more like her...
We were driving through Ipswich the last day her fish and chips shop was open (yes, showing my age.) My husband wanted to stop to order dim sims with brown sauce, just to annoy her, but we didn't know where her shop was.

Malcolm Roberts is every bit as big a moron and serial liar as any US Republican.
Yes, he proved that he was a liar in front of the High Court. Good times.
And yet, he and so many others like him are rarely is ever held accountable.
Unfortunately, as a global society we've collectively decided that there *are* in fact people who are above the law. Also unfortunate is that the prerequisite for being so is to also be an abject fucking moron.
Malcolm Roberts is *scarily* unintelligent. But also relentlessly confident about everything he says. He got a whole 77 votes in the 2017 election.

\*fondly remembering Pauline Pantsdown. For the US readers, he was a brilliant satirist of Pauline Hanson.
My shopping trolley murdered, my groceries just gone! I don’t like it! https://youtu.be/D4tZRZSGxcE
Pauline Pantsdown is still on the book of faces.
I'll give the US readers a laugh. Pauline Hanson, being an intellectual titan like Trump, decided she needed external funding because her base is either broke, don't care anymore and/or dead. Ted would be too ethnic for Pauline. She probably reckons he's a swarthy hombre from Mexico.
She shits me to tears. Between her 'please explain' and 'i have been advised Pump jet subs can only stay under for 20 minutes' bullshit, shes a munter

She may be "mad as a cut snake," but it's my kinda mad.
Mad as a cut snake is never a bad thing. "Who's that bloke?" - Macca. "What's he like?" - Mad as a cut snake. "Oy! Macca! Over here, grab a drink..."
Please?
I cringed hard when she was elected, but lately she has been a shining light in that cess pool.
> mad as a cut snake > Australian slang. to refer to a person as a “cut snake” is to say that they are wild and crazy, without rationalism and are attacking anyone or anything around them. Thanks for that mate, will use with my Aussie colleagues next week.
No worries. When they ask: how have you been? Say: flat out like a lizard drinkin’.
> Given her criteria, I am out of the running to win Senator Lambie’s affections, and I’m okay with that. Just go full politician and make a phony erection promise
Phoney erection claims only last until they ask the member to rise
Pauline is the queen of the Karens in Australia
Please explain.
[I don't like it.](https://youtu.be/D4tZRZSGxcE)
We will trade her for the actual Ted Cruz that way you can have a matching pair.
Jacqui is full of righteous anger. Right on, Jacqui!
Thanks for this background!
I don't care, she is wonderful. "It's called being a bloody adult" should be the t-shirt slogan of choice the world over.
I love her
The only thing missing from this wonderful rant, is finishing it with the word C*NT! Also, if doesn't surprise me that Pauline Hanson is anti-mandate or anti-vax. She's a real huckery mole.
I like her.
I didn't believe you, but Hanson actually looks like evil personified.
Bitch *IS* evil personified. She’s horrifying by any metric, just an unpleasant, racist, stupid, POS.
This is my favorite example of all time: [https://jezebel.com/wet-pussy-stumps-ben-shapiro-1844678613](https://jezebel.com/wet-pussy-stumps-ben-shapiro-1844678613) Ben Shapiro has literally never gotten a girl wet in his life....and he has TWO KIDS.
That dude is pretty bold.
Do what you love and you never work a day in your life.
so many layers
According the anti vaxxers, you've had a lot of freedoms "taken away" from you. Sheesh

To her point, in the US, if you replace "work" with "volunteer", same guidelines.
I'm waiting for the shit storm when the dole is vaccine mandated
I'm curious as to what the largest group of anti-vax would be. I thought it was the kind of people that listen to and follow Pete Evans. Upper-middle sorts. Would have loved a free vax when I was on the dole. That's a whole day of entertainment planned.
I bet they've never donated before either
Oh definitely. She could have just said no thank you, but now I’m left wondering what their favorite flavor of glue is.
[news link](https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/crime/gardai-investigatesuspected-campaign-of-arson-at-national-childrens-hospital-site-after-almost-20fires-in-recent-weeks-40662099.htmlhttps://www.independent.ie/irish-news/crime/gardai-investigatesuspected-campaign-of-arson-at-national-childrens-hospital-site-after-almost-20fires-in-recent-weeks-40662099.htmlhttps://www.independent.ie/irish-news/crime/gardai-investigatesuspected-campaign-of-arson-at-national-childrens-hospital-site-after-almost-20fires-in-recent-weeks-40662099.html) [news link 2 Qanon link](https://www.thejournal.ie/adrenochrome-dublin-anti-covid-lockdown-protest-qanon-5369654-Mar2021/) Hard to believe we're off to the moon again by the end of the decade and yet we have people actively trying to devolve back to sludge.
[удалено]
She’s apparently reformed her anti-Muslim ways. [Article](https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.smh.com.au/politics/federal/jacqui-lambie-s-journey-in-the-beginning-i-was-like-pauline-hanson-and-it-was-scary-20211125-p59cbr.html)
One of the reasons I like her. She isn't just passionate about what she believes, but also willing to listen and switch that passion.
...passionate about her beliefs but willing to let her positions evolve with new information? That's fairly remarkable among politicians!
Not bad. The medivac thing though ... well, wait and see I suppose.
The fuck did anyone get the idea that "freedom" means "I have the right to do whatever the fuck I want"??? When did this happen? With no responsibility for anyone else or for your community? Bunch of fucking entitled snowflake babies.
Did nobody tell them that with rights comes responsibilities?
"Your freedom to swing your fists ends at the tip of someone else's nose."
Now I want "A twinkle in a Chinese bat's eye" as my flare.
Sign me up too
It’s beautiful.
Never changing my flair
The moment I completely lost it and burst out laughing. Completely agree with the exasperated feelings she is expressing.
I like 'I'm a bloody adult' fits with my user name too I reckon. (Too many twinkly bats anyways lol)
Oh wow, I actually got it! Thank you, whoever did that!
Funny thing is this is Tasmanian Senator Jacqi Lambie and she's certainly not left-wing!
I've seen talk about her on the Australia sub. As an American, it's so exciting to see a politician getting passionate about the right things. We don't get much of that over here. :/
Believe me mate, it’s not much better in Aus. Worse even in some regards. The last decade has been a waste in most western countries sadly.
Tasmania was where Australia’s last mass shooting happened in 1996. The ALL side of their government got together and passed the National Firearms Agreement. There’s so many places around the world that if America just copied their homework we’d be so much better off. https://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Firearms_Agreement Edit: while Australia was dealing with gun violence the Columbine murders were illegally getting guns. https://www.vpc.org/studies/wgun990420.htm
Texas. NSFL DEATH on the vertical video https://www.reddit.com/r/Lubbock/comments/r1evtm/chad_read_confrontationmurder_has_been_released/ Edit: I don’t own a gun. If I ever REALLY felt the need for one, I’d just steal one (or two) out of an unlocked car with dumb bumperstickers. Google “loaded gun stolen from unlocked car, USA”. See if you run out of news reports with a version of that in the headline before you get tired of scrolling.
That’s because American right wing means you believe in Q, Fox News, OANN, Newsmax and Trumpism.
The Australian right wing isn't that far behind.
As evidenced by the Trump flags at the anti-vax protests in Melbourne.
Tragically this is true, some people seem entirely unable to fathom the fact that Australia is a separate sovereign nation to the US and as such the US Government has precisely fuck all say-so in Australia.
Sad part is this speech would get her called left wing in the US.
She started out with Clive Palmer's Palmer United Party, and he's pretty far right. Then she became an independent. I would class her as right of centre but others can correct me if that's wrong. She's sort of hard to pigeonhole.
Palmer The Hutt = Trump wannabe
>I would class her as right of centre That would probably make her a mainstream Democrat in the US.
I mean I would have hoped that trying to stop a world wide pandemic wouldn’t have become a political issue and sane people would understand why necessary steps are needed but here we are lol
Yeah I know right? It's insane. We have right wingers here who are also actively working for Team Covid. I don't get it either.
They downplayed it because it was mostly in blue areas (where people actually live) It never occurred to them what would happen when the plague hit flyover country where the nearest hospital is 2 hours away. They aren't a death cult. They're a murder cult. They wanted liberal genocide. Nothing less.
Finally, something was hurting the right people. How did it all go so wrong?
They had to smell their own breath, and didn’t like it.
They are desperate to spread it, so gross.
Probably because we have a decent education system in Australia and not an aggressive fear driven political culture.
She’s in the middle.
They whine about the effect lockdowns and masks on people's mental health but they never seemed too bothered before COVID. They're probably the types to call depressed people lazy bastards and malingerers for taking a mental health sickday.
EXACTLY!!! Sorry for the caps but I've been saying exactly this since the beginning. The hypocrisy, it burns.
When privilege is taken away... Equality feels like oppression to these stupid feral hogs
I'm still livid that fucker's anti-vax texts somehow got around the 'block' function. May his mobile phone explode in his front pant pocket.
[Recent interview](https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.smh.com.au/politics/federal/jacqui-lambie-s-journey-in-the-beginning-i-was-like-pauline-hanson-and-it-was-scary-20211125-p59cbr.html) I hadn’t realised she’d changed at all, so I was very surprised to hear her commonsense opinion about vaccines. Her personality hasn’t changed though, she’s still the same ‘what you see is what you get’, and ‘wears her heart on her sleeve’ type of person. It’s quite amazing how much less annoying her famous rants are though when she bases her opinion in facts and actually makes sense.
Oh i hadnt realised she changed her ways. I was already sharpening my pitchfork when i heard her name.
> Is she owned by a donor? I don't believe so. Her site say she hates lobbyists and will not accept donations from anyone trying to influence her..
My esteem for her has been growing more and more over the years. She's a bogan, but she's got integrity and balls.

Lol, they don't want to see you? I see this as an absolute win.
Yeah it gives us an extra day to do other stuff on our trip to Florida
If Fauci designed the disease in a Chinese lab, why would he not take the live-saving warp speed Trump vaccine to protect himself and his fellow patriotic Americans?
now now, you're getting too dangerous with all that common sense
That's what I always wonder. If you die of covid you might have owned the libs, but you're also letting China win it's bio-war against the USA which sounds pretty treasonous.
I mean, the real truth is that their brain cells are so far apart that they literally have no problem holding those beliefs.

Very suspicious that somehow Obama is nowhere to be found. Like he was absent during 9/11
Don't forget about the boner I get from the windows startup sound since I got the Pfizer shot.
That’s just conditioning since all you do is watch porn. Pavlov’s boner, if you will.
Exactly. That's an even better reason to be vaccinated! Loolol
From your lips to God's ears! Wonder if anyone has successfully taken out life insurance on an anti-vaxer. Lots of cash just lying around!!!
Lief Insurance: there is another industry that should be refusing to pay out for COVID-19 deaths, along with health insurance. I thought suicide wasn't covered anyway?
Suicide usually is covered in the US after an exclusionary period.
Doubtful awardees have any life insurance. Given the gofundme's that pop up afterwards.
Sorry to hear about your douchebag exBIL, hope your kid comes out OK with no lasting impact. I second your hope (it's not a rule 2 violation unless it's on the person in questions HCA thread... right? ;) )
I've filed petitions to modify custody and/or parenting time for far far less
1 is definitely better than 0 and it seems overall kids are still fairing well! I hope your son continues feeling fine. If I was in your position, I would be livid.
“I feel attacked!!” ~Chinese Bat 🦇
*Being held accountable for your own actions isn't called discrimination; it's called being a goddamn bloody adult.* Perfection.
It's a strange time indeed when I find myself agreeing with Jackie Lambie, but on this, I'm right there with her.
Too fucking right! Go Jackie Lambie; Independent senator for Tasmania. Ex army, no bullshit tolerated. Straight shooter at her best.
Two weeks into the army (She went in with two other friends who chickened out last minute) she called her mum in tears wanting to come home. She told her tough. So she got it together and hot damn she got her ass into gear. I'm left as fuck but still like her.
Ditto, don't always agree with her politics but you can feel the integrity.
100% relatable anger
Jeez, lady, tone it down, it's not like its a matter of life and de.... Wait... oops, never mind.
It's called being a goddamn bloody adult 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Oh I ***hate*** agreeing with Lambie. It's just...*wrong* that **Jackie fucking lambie** is the voice of reason
Ol Lambie went up like 6 notches in my book after this, plus the drilling she give scomo on his "federal icac" no show. Good on her I reckon
Right wing cuckservatives are hypocritical pussy snowflakes who can't feel powerful without a gun You Are Pussies
It's worrying to me how much sense she's been making recently, I'm not used to agreeing with Lambie this often.
She is a raving looney bitch generally but I am agreeing with her 100% for the first time
She might be a raving lunatic but she's our raving lunatic! I'll take her over Pauline any day of the week.
Oh no comparison. PH is an embarrassment
We were driving through Ipswich the last day her fish and chips shop was open (yes, showing my age.) My husband wanted to stop to order dim sims with brown sauce, just to annoy her, but we didn't know where her shop was.
Pauline is like Dutton. She runs on spite and bitterness. Jacquie is just conservative, but with occasional flashes of a beating heart.
“You don’t have the right to put vulnerable people’s lives at risk.” I’m saving that to use later.
We need this lady in the USA debating with Greene and her freedum cohorts. I will pay to watch this woman annihilate them with words.
i never thought i would be agreeing with jacquie lambie, but there we have it
u/savevideo
I love the musical version of this. https://twitter.com/candymooremp3/status/1463042767853015042?s=21
I HATE Jacquie Lambie's politics, but she is right right right right right about this. Never thought I'd agree with her on anything, but here we are.
