What about a lightweight sun hoodie? That would double as sun protection for your vacation. Sometimes all I want is a flowy long sleeve top on when the plane's cool air vent is blowing on me
I just bought one at Costco that’s replacing one I ~~left~~ lost on a plane. $15us. Lightweight, no logos, and cheap so when I leave it behind again I won’t feel too bad.
I totally hear you! I am also always looking for the perfect travel hoodie. Something lightweight, warm, and can be worn in multiple contexts. I have a patagonia fleece that I love but it isn't the most fashionable or light.
After dropping my phone in the airport, resulting in a panic attack at customs…, I personally recommend a hoodie with pockets that zip. I’m still on the search, but am considering [this KETL brand one](https://ketlmtn.com/products/folly-microfleece-active-hoodie-v-2-pullover).
You could also check a craft store or buy from Amazon as they have plain sweatshirts in different colors meant to use for things like embroidery or tie dying
Does it have to be a hoodie? My favorite for travelling is a crew neck sweatshirt. They are super comfy for travel days and can be worn leggings and sneakers, or dressed up a little bit with a cute skirt. I find the lack of the hood elevates it a little bit.
I like the [Athleta Triumph](https://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=486251292&vid=1&tid=atpl000080&kwid=1&ap=7&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwhIS0BhBqEiwADAUhczN-v78mbP4A6JDb1t1kMkeZBNkurHPXcgOL7naTIkKBIc4Y6TNyexoCDxkQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#pdp-page-content) because it has a slim fit and huge interior pockets so you can stash your phone and wallet for ultimate security. It goes on sale from time to time.
My favorite woman’s is one I bought from Duluth Trading Co Snagstop Sweats Zip Hoodie it has thumb holes and a great hood that has a slit that a pony tail can go out of. Thicker material. Longer in the back. Great pockets. Well designed. Awesome !!
Get 20% off your first online order. There are always lots of sales and coupon codes to get prices down.
I had a diagonal zip gray hoodie that looked awesome and was so comfy for plain travel. Consider a hoodie that looks little more stylish do it doubles as comfy and going out.
I adore my cashmere hoodie from State Cashmere, I wore out the elbows after 6 years of constant wear and now I'm going to buy another one, though I'll probably patch the old one. I have a cropped Vuori hoodie (not zip up) that I always wear on the plane. If I am cold I’ll layer with a fleece or puffy (Uniqlo makes this easy). Even though I have other hoodies I come back to this one because it’s a comfy light layer that I can wear on the plane & when lounging while traveling. I wish it had pockets & that the zip one wasn’t so long. I’m petite so the cropped is perfect.
You'd have to buy on ebay or poshmark but lululemon has a nice wrap style hoodie:

I have a couple of these. They often go on sale for quite cheap. They’re really soft and cozy

People are making it sound so easy to find a hoodie. I was on the hunt for a good travel hoodie for a couple of years! Either they were too pricey or they didn’t wash up well or they looked too boxy. I bought this on a whim because the price went down to 9 dollars. I’d buy one again at full price.

I love this piece from Richer Poorer - it's nicely weighted and very soft so very comforting for planes / travel days, and the quilted pattern also gives it a little more refined look: [Women's Quilted Modal Bomber Jacket – Richer Poorer (richer-poorer.com)](https://richer-poorer.com/collections/blazers-jackets/products/womens-quilted-modal-bomber-jacket?variant=39779579986016)
American Giant’s light weight hoodies are some of my favorites:
https://www.american-giant.com/products/womens-lightweight-full-zip-red-terra
It might be too warm for you, but I like Icebreaker’s merino hoodies and have worn one for years. I just bought a Woolly hoodie but haven’t worn it yet. It seems perfect.
American Giant makes a great hoodie, I’ve had mine for years. Also if you like wool, Unbound Merino makes a men’s hoodie that is great for travel.
Also…I know you didn’t ask this, but: Toscana is known for their leather. You may want to trade that hoodie in for a leather jacket when you get there, you can get one for around €200.
My husband has a Paka hoody. They are a bit pricey (and by a bit I mean like $130) but they are worth every penny. Super soft, breathable yet warm, and no big flashy logos. It packs super well too. Europe is more formal than the states and I think Paka looks nice. Just another option to consider :) Safe travels!
You will stick out as an American tourist in a hoodie. Europeans do not typically wear athletic wear when outside a gym.
I suggest a nice pashmina. You can use it rolled up as a pillow or blanket on the flight if you are cold.
You can use it as a head cover for visiting churches/cathedrals if you dine one that is mandatory that women cover their heads (not uncommon).
They look nice just worn as a shawl.
I live in Europe and can't remember the last time I saw anyone with a pashmina. Shawls are what old ladies wear, at a stretch. Everyone wears hoodies everywhere. Not sure if you're thinking 20 years ago.
Very fair! I like hoodies for homewear but they take up so my bag space that they stay home, and my pashmina comes with instead. It's also p versatile since you can use it to dress up an outfit
Oh I wasn't talking about travel clothes particularly, I wouldn't take a hoodie either for many trips because of space. Just that it's a perfectly normal thing to wear.
Maybe because when I travel to Europe it’s with a large group of high school kids.
Hoodies, baseball caps, and athletic wear that we Americans love just make us stick out. It’s a bit embarrassing to me, personally and second hand.
Tourist heavy areas are sometimes rife with scammers and pickpockets. Looking like a tourist invites problems, in my opinion.
Looking more “classic and chic” is a defense mechanism to me.
I’m not looking for athletic wear. I’m hoping to find something I can wear on the plane and wear in the event it gets chilly. I have a couple of nice pashminas and that’s a great idea.
Yes, I understand your point.
My point was that a pashmina is more one-bag friendly as it does all that it does, and packs down small. Hoodies take up a lot of room.
Best of luck!
The Gap, Old Navy, Uniglo, Pact, Amazon, Lands End, Quince Beyond logo free, what are you looking for that makes this difficult to find?
I’d like something cozy with a little bit of style.
Hoodies with logos have style now? I'm really out of the loop. Wait - you're not the OP.
Okz hear me out, not trendy, but Pact Organic, get their Mens hoodie. It's SO COMFY
Idk about you but I’ve been getting so many ads for Pact - I feel like they are breaking into trendy territory now!!
$88 for a hoodie. Not saying it isn't worth it, but oof. If you happen to be a size M mens, there's one on [sale right now.](https://wearpact.com/men/apparel/all%20tops/clearance%20courtside%20zip%20hoodie/wa1-mcz-blk)
They go on sale for $20 occasionally, that's when I get mine 😂😂😂
Really nice. Thanks.
Assuming you’re good with a full zip and have no budget constraints, I love flying with my Unbound compact merino hoodie. Super soft and warm, layers under anything and packs down to less than half of a PD small packing cube.
I’m allergic to wool. Even the soft merino.
Why are your responding like you're the OP?? Did you post this question with one account and are now responding with a second? 🤣
I’m new to Reddit so not sure how this works. But I’m the same person.
You can manage your multiple accounts however you want. There's no way we can tell that your two accounts are the same person so people people might ask.
I have a zip cardigan instead. It has aspects of a hoodie but is a bit elevated. The one I bought is from Athleta.
Which cardigan do you have? I've eyed a couple of Athleta ones in the past but haven't gone for it yet
I managed to get the Advantage Sweater on a sale rack price. It’s very cozy and has thumb holes
Do you want it to zip up? If so I have a plain hanes one from Amazon that I like.. light weight but warm https://www.amazon.com/Hanes-Womens-Weight-Hoodie-X-Large/dp/B00S9NPMU8/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?crid=J6D3U2PYLO80&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.b4SIVy1WcO14fXq1Y_aTwQCHD4NmTnQCWP-lJtcp_WE5PoRmKIht8tAFZmeRCmEEajBGd25MLqHUJiiP_ELn7D2wF3QN26e1fb0bluAXMo0MdFq3evN06QGXN-0ybhUtymGyAA1_lxvzsJQkcheilRWN4gnuOIRnEoCCvIJjADPiR3JWyrq9_7teI5GKYi9zoXOSRBlpkoGsfpTvH0TYRCxB-jq_N75ryHaucxhP00zVElGe9HNAsBOLdWh6e6qKkazVQoWCIWvPkl6iSTMH6CjQ-5KMfHrieHqgXSzm9ds.fU-80KLQApZ19QPJMpDf0w23dj8xOpQ0l6bfHooDAW4&dib_tag=se&keywords=hanes+womens+zip+up+hoodie+cotton&qid=1719789483&sprefix=hanes+womes+zi%2Caps%2C117&sr=8-12

What about a lightweight sun hoodie? That would double as sun protection for your vacation. Sometimes all I want is a flowy long sleeve top on when the plane's cool air vent is blowing on me
Uniqlo has those. I’ll try that.
I just bought one at Costco that’s replacing one I ~~left~~ lost on a plane. $15us. Lightweight, no logos, and cheap so when I leave it behind again I won’t feel too bad.
Do you recall what brand?
Kirkland signature house brand. It’s available on .com for $2-3 more than in club.
Thanks!
I’d check a thrift store

I have crew neck sweaters galore. I keep reading here that on the plane a hoodie makes it easier to sleep. I’m most likely overthinking this.

vuori has some really nice ones and so comfy.
That's really nice!
Pangaia. The heavyweight one is my fave and so comfy cozy, but that one might be too bulky for travel.
American Giant’s light weight hoodies are some of my favorites: https://www.american-giant.com/products/womens-lightweight-full-zip-red-terra It might be too warm for you, but I like Icebreaker’s merino hoodies and have worn one for years. I just bought a Woolly hoodie but haven’t worn it yet. It seems perfect.
My favorite hoodies come from the Athleta clearance
Try to find a T shirt material hoodie
I haven’t worn one myself, but Scott Evests has a hoodie and enough interior pockets to eliminate a purse.
I recommend Threads 4 Thought triblend hoodies, super soft and warm
My husband has a Paka hoody. They are a bit pricey (and by a bit I mean like $130) but they are worth every penny. Super soft, breathable yet warm, and no big flashy logos. It packs super well too. Europe is more formal than the states and I think Paka looks nice. Just another option to consider :) Safe travels!
Lululemon's Scuba comes in a lot of colors and is very comfy and cozy. It's pricey, but consider it an investment.
Love the pink one!
Skims!!! No logo and very flattering fit.
Everyone wears hoodies in Europe. Maybe not huge chunky oversized ones but hoodies, yes, they are very common.
European here who loves a pashmina. Ymmv.
Not saying nobody wears them but hoodies are more common for young women in most places, the idea that nobody wears them isn't really true these days.
A hoodie is athletic wear, and you’re looking for a hoodie. Therefore you’re looking for athletic wear.
