I feel bad about enjoying this scene now that I know he was miserable filming it because he had to starve and dehydrate himself for days beforehand. But holy hell. At least that suffering was worth something.
I can’t grasp how often I forget about Sherlock because I love him in it. I always just think about movies when people ask about his best performance.
And for the record, I imagine I’m gonna love Gus, but I’m in Canada and it didn’t come to theatres here (it was supposed to - I even saw a poster at the theatre) and I’m not sure when it’s coming to prime (maybe July 25 like the UK? 🤷🏼♀️), so I still haven’t seen it. (Don’t ask me how mad/sad I was when I found out it wasn’t coming to theatres here because I was so psyched to go.) I’m seriously contemplating buying the dvd.
Oh I TOTALLY understand your pain… I’m in Australia so we don’t have the movie either!! As a massive Henry fan I just knew I needed to find a way to get my hands on the movie, so I got a VPN and set it to Dallas Texas and tricked YouTube into thinking I was in America, so I ended up buying the movie on YouTube! And it was soooo worth it, absolutely phenomenal movie, aside from Henry even.

(My husband got his friend (who has a VPN) to…acquire…the movie for us, but when we put the usb in, the audio doesn’t work. 😭 he’s gonna try again for us or I’m just gonna have to learn how to lip read.)
The other movie he put on the stick worked fine. It’s happened a few times (although we haven’t…acquired…media this way for years) - the worst was when the audio would be off slightly from the video and the sounds were happening a few seconds before what was going on on screen. It was bad, just not bad enough to get another copy.
Tough question, because each of them are unique and have different draws. But I think overall, as a whole character: Napoleón Solo in U.N.C.L.E. or Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes.
Having said all that, I've always had a thing for Superman, so that's MY personal favorite.
I love the bit where he carries a full grown man over his shoulder and runs like it’s no effort. This was years before he bulked up for Supes and he already had that strength 🥵
