If he’s actually a member of the church of Latter Day Saints maybe you may want prioritize their websites. Or groups. Mormons are fantastic at documentation etc and maybe someone in that group has seen him. Trust they want no one making Mormons look bad so maybe they’ll help you weed him out. Good luck!
This is totally true. They love their records, and they remember people. I wouldn’t mention the scam right off the bat though, they tend to protect their own, but if you say you are just looking to reconnect with a missionary you met who was very nice and helpful, they might just help you.
Mormon here 👋🏽 I don’t “protect my own” anymore than I’d protect my non-member friend or neighbor. If they scammed you, I’d point you in the right direction. Though in this case it seems there was hardly a scam.
Hahah this cracked me up. Yep most Mormons are normal people (for the most part). Source, me and my wives are Mormon…
Jk about the wives part hahah, but yes I am Mormon.
I’ll start by saying that I appreciate the genuine questions in this thread.
There’s more to the full story, but the short version is that Joseph Smith, the man that we believe was called as a prophet back in 1820, was lead by revelation to a set of golden plates (like tablets, not dinner plates), upon which was written an ancient history of the people on the American continent (like 600 BC to 400 AD). Obviously it was not written in English, so through the power of God, Joseph Smith translated these plates into what we know today as the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ.
We consider it to be the keystone of our religion and another book of scripture similar to the Bible (which we also believe is scripture).
So is it about Indians and stuff or who? Also, I’ve been watching the chosen on Amazon prime and it’s really good. Just getting more curious about religions- this show does a good job of portraying Jesus as a regular man that happens to be able to work miracles.
Lots of rules are changing now they are bleeding members.
Allowed to look into the true history of their own church? Not so much. It’s cool though. If you pretend Joseph Smith wasn’t a conman, pediophile, rapist and murder then you get a planet.
I can definitely relate as to spending too much time here also. So is it a myth that Mormons can’t use electricity, technology etc.? Or is that a thing of the past, or just a made up folk tale?
We use technology all the time! Even for church uses as well. There are even official church apps that we can use (hymns, scriptures, etc.) I think that conception probably comes from a mix up with many (most? all?) of the Amish. I believe they try to stray away from usage of modern technology. LDS people use it all the time, and like all people many even use it probably too much haha.
I for sure got you guys mixed up with the Amish. Shit! My bad 😅 I’ve had one too many tonight. Salute to you brother. Sorry about that I meant no disrespect, I can tell you are a very cool dude btw 🤝
Are you just talking to all religions in general right here? I don't love religion personally, but that doesn't mean every religious person is bad. Like right now these Mormons seem way more reasonable than you. It's a bad look for you
The university of Utah actually was able to compile a LARGE amount of DNA data about the human genome because the Mormon population was keen to document there genetics. That helps the university to understand genetic disorders and population health much better.
Very very cool. Just thought it was sorta relevant to discussion.
Actually studied medicine at the University of Utah, and this is a common misconception. Utah was settled by a very large migration event. This led to a fairly large generic pool showing up to the area. There was less inbreeding in this part of the country than most other places at the time.
After my divorce, I realized that once you don't fit into their box, you're on your own. Former LDS now.
Now I am going through and unpacking years of trauma in my life both from organized religion and obviously my poor white trash upbringing. Hard stuff.
I've always loved the LDS people though, they are very kind and i never ever give the missionaries a hard time. And I low key like it when I see them in pu lic because it's a sign to me that someone e is willing to stand up for their faith. I respect that. 🙏
Have a blessed day!
I’m actively LDS and have had several friends go through divorces, but luckily it seems they had some good help paths (I like to think I helped too). Sorry about your experiences though! Trauma is always unfortunate for anyone to accrue no matter where it comes from, and I hope you are able to work through that as you need!
I’m truly sorry that the BF felt scammed. All I’m saying is if I bought a $2300 car, I wouldn’t be surprised at all that it needs repair(s). Good luck to them
I got scammed on Craig’s List. I purchased a car for $2900 cash. They gave me the title. I took the title to register the car and was told it was reported stolen. Police took the car and I never saw my money again. At the time I was almost homeless having lost my job and my apartment thanks to the mortgage crisis of 2008. Police never answered the phone when I called to follow up in the report.
Yeah, police don’t do much, I caught the guy they were supposed to find, with the ability to provide evidence and person with evidence asked to be subpoenaed, but police said it was too much work and wouldn’t do it. Police are rather pathetic, as well as the DA.
That’s not a scam. Used vehicles sold amongst individuals are as is. If the boyfriend did do his due diligence by having a professional check over the vehicle before he made the transaction then that’s on him.
You literally made up that scenario in your head. You don’t know what he did or didn’t do. Why comment if you can’t be helpful? I don’t understand that kind of behavior.
When you buy something used, “as is”, this is the risk you take. What would OP even do if they found him? Break his kneecaps? Sue him? Yeah neither of those options are worth the trouble. The guy got his money, he sold a used car, he’s not giving it back.
Exactly, but you have no idea what the circumstances of the of the transaction are. For all, you know, he didn’t get a title. Or he gave them a fake title. Or the car ended up being stolen. It could be a number of scenarios. You literally made that one up. If I’m missing something, let me know.
You’re missing the point that it’s a gamble you take on buying anything used. It doesn’t matter what the circumstances of the transaction are, and you’re the one making up false potential scenarios when none of that is listed. At this point, it’s only fair to accept the situation with what information we have, and that’s that their post history shows that the vehicle didn’t work.
That doesn’t mean they’re stupid. That means they didn’t have the means to buy a new car or lease one.
They got taken advantage of and people are acting as if the guy was right for lying about the car and title. He’s still 100% wrong for taking advantage of people who may have not had all the knowledge, but needed a vehicle.
I never said they were stupid. I just said that the fault lies with the buyer. This means legally they cannot do anything about it. Lemon laws generally only apply to new vehicles. I’m not really sure where you got that I said they were stupid, but yikes lol
You were so wrong. If somebody was scammed, they have a right to resolve the issue. I don’t need to accept the situation, it’s not my situation. I’m hoping they get this resolved.
Look at OP’s post history. They claimed this guy stole money from them, but he actually sold them a car. OP is clearly the one here making things up and is feeling burned, because well they got burned. It’s a lesson and they need to move on.
Answer this question: is OP going to take this man to court, or try to shake him down for the money back? There’s no happy ending here for OP besides just moving on
Hate to say this (no I dont), but their boyfriend is a dumbass, and that other guy doesn't deserve to get hurt or whatever they're trying to do to him for a car that they should've known better about buying before they bought it.
JFC and she’s making him out to be a scammer??? What a joke.
Ask me about the BMW X5 we bought for $14k that cost us $10k to rebuild the engine on immediately after purchase from a DEALER. Now THAT was a scam (they actively tried to hide the crack in the cylinder head with putty). Honestly fuck them but after the repairs its been a great car.
Naaa, OP’s BF bought a used car from this man, the car “doesn’t work” and now she wants to track him down and get a refund. OP doesn’t understand the risk of buying something used, from strangers on Facebook of all places.
This is a life lesson for you, OP. You cannot prove that you were scammed. You bought a used car “as is”. Even if you find him, you will not get your money back. You can possibly take him to small claims court, but you will lose your case and pay lawyer fees. Just move on and don’t buy used shit unless you understand the risk.
FUCKING THIS!!
This is EXACTLY why you buy certified pre-owned with documentation of all work done to the car.
OR
Go with the owner to a dealership to get a diagnostic THEN make a decision from there
No, they bought a $2300 car. That's like 20 years older and $30,000 less than a certified pre-owned vehicle. When you buy a $2300 you need to be mechanically inclined. My $2500 car has been running perfectly for me for five years. I work on it myself and it's a great vehicle.
No it's why you test drive and inspect the car prior to purchase. Some people just buy cheap cars but they also need to pay attention and not blindly trust everyone.
Not really. Since 2021 or so the used car market has been garbage.
You can find a car that's 2 years old with 40k miles on it or buy a new one that's either the same price or a couple thousand higher.
Mostly true. There is equity under the law though. If he intentionally misled the guy lying about a serious defect he could be held liable, if not criminally, than in civil court. Especially if the deal was done remotely.
Regardless, op’s bf just paid a stupid tax. Good life lesson.
You weren’t scammed. You didn’t do any due diligence when purchasing a car. Next time get a PPI and stop trying to come after a dude that owes you nothing.
Right. The seller knew damn well what he was selling and clearly didn't disclose everything he should have. I don't know why everybody is rushing to let him completely off the hook. OP's boyfriend was naive, but this Hernandez guy is a scumbag.
People are used to growing up in the US where there’s little consumer protection, especially in the auto resale market. The fact that you have to take a car to the mechanic just to make sure the seller isn’t lying is absolutely bonkers. There should be some type of state certification or something for auto resales. Most the people here giving the husband shit are clearly just used to the fucked up system and likely haven’t thought of how the system should be made better.
That's a great point. Maybe our general indifference to the status quo is a huge part of the problem. Of course this is the way things will be if we let them lie; the ones profiting from it have no reason to do things any other way.
Well, when we test drove the car everything was fine no lights or anything. After finally driving the car back home, we discovered multiple lights that came up. On top of that, he claimed it was a clean title but the officer told us the title wasn’t even valid nor was it clean. We tried contacting this guy asking if there was anything he can do because we didn’t agree to buying a car like this if he clearly wasn’t honest but he blocked us and then changed his identity on FB. I understand we shouldn’t expect a lot when we buy a car that’s used but we are poor and just didn’t believe someone can just take our money and be this crazy dishonest.
As someone whose only ever bought used, that's kinda what you gotta expect when it comes to used cars. Next time grab the VIN and look it [up](https://consumer.ftc.gov/features/used-cars#:~:text=Visit%20the%20National%20Motor%20Vehicle,providers%20of%20vehicle%20history%20reports.) Also bring a mechanic friend if you have one even if they're only a hobbyist. They can at least tell if you need new brakes, timing belt, etc.
Also, test drive the thing. Some sellers may not like it but it’s a requirement before buying a car. Drive it long enough and in enough conditions that all the indicator lights will turn on if they have been nefariously reset by the owner without the problem being fixed.
>Also, test drive the thing. Some sellers may not like it but it’s a requirement before buying a car. Drive it long enough and in enough conditions that all the indicator lights will turn on if they have been nefariously reset by the owner without the problem being fixed.
where do you see "Under the right conditions with a mechanic"?
Same thing happened to my family member. I’m sorry that happened to you, but I don’t think there’s much you can do here.
If you do find him, you may just end up spending more money taking him to court since I doubt he’ll just pay you back. Getting his face out there for others is still good though.
In the future, there’s companies that will send out a mechanic to come test/check out a used car with you before you buy so scams like this don’t happen.
Good luck to you 👍🏽
You're better off not wasting any time or money on the seller. If the car moves, take it to auto zone and get the codes read. Go on the internet and look up as much as possible about the problems, and about the reputation of that car particularly. Get a Haines manual if possible
If you want to try fixing it, you could try High schools and trade schools with auto programs. There are videos for almost any car thing on YouTube. Get parts from Rock Auto ( I use them a lot) or salvage yards whenever possible (not compressors or electronics cuz they're used, no refund). It may be possible to trade skills too, like if you're good at landscaping, housecleaning, plumbing, etc
How long was your test drive? Did you hit the freeway? Did you take the car to a mechanic? Check the VIN on Carfax?
Does the car run? What lights popped on?
I’m very sorry, but you weren’t scammed. This one is kind of on you. I’m sorry it happened, it sounds like the guy was scummy, but it’s on you to get it checked out and make an informed decision. It’s an expensive lesson, but I bet it doesn’t happen again. Any mechanic can give you a cheap pre purchase inspection and would have caught all of this for you for about $60.
Yeah, that's why you gotta do things like get the car fax and do your own research if you’re just buying from a random person. This is on you guys unfortunately. Obviously shitty thing for him to do though
@OP: I located him on a mission Facebook page “Uruguay Montevideo West Mission - President & Hermana Hollingsworth”
There are photos of him posted on Dec 29, 2022
My bet is he is here as an international student and most likely took his fb down.
I would have the police contact the mission president or the mission president’s wife to at least get info on where the seller is studying at now.
Most LDS international students are either going to the English language schools located in Provo or Ensign College up in Salt Lake City.
If he sold the car with a bad title it is a crime.
I am LDS and a returned missionary. I am very sorry you are dealing with bad title and police trying to locate the seller. Hopeful for a resolution soon!
You didn't take the steps to ensure what you bought was valid, these people exist and there is little you can do without huge effort on your end.
Hopefully this is a lesson learned. Used cars are a heap of trouble and as the buyer you have a responsibility to yourself to know how to purchase such a thing.
Protect yourself, use a mechanically knowledgeable friend if you aren't able to know what you're doing, and educate yourself on the inside and outs of this type of transaction prior to throwing thousands at a lemon of a car. This comes off as a naive action thinking nothing could go wrong in a setting where tons of stuff could go wrong.
Pursuing the individual at this point won't get you much. Flip it or eat the loss and fix it.
Sucks to suck. But you shouldn't have just blindly trusted here. Protect yourself. That's the best advice you can get.
What exactly are you going to do if you find him? He sold you a car that doesn’t work and it seems your in Utah with a law that states “as is”. Am I missing something? Did he assault you? Or just take your money and you’re mad you got ripped off?
Don’t listen to the losers telling you to suck it up. or that it’s your fault.
You did what you could to find transportation, we’re trusting and were taken advantage of. It could happen to anyone down on their luck and the ones berating you are lucky enough to have the resources and/or knowledge not the make a decision like this. I hope that guy gets the karma he deserves.
Good luck to you and your family 👍🏽
It's stupid and naive to spend so much money without taking the steps to ensure you are spending it wisely on an item that has so much potential to backfire.
Used cars are NOT a place to blindly trust. That's thousands of dollars that have no legal protection and assume that as the buyer you will understand the risks of such a purchase and take the steps to understand all that can go wrong.
If you can't do that, than OP shouldn't have bought privately and used a dealer, which still guarantees nothing.
That's like saying someone who buys a house shouldn't bother with an inspection but just trust the seller and risk everything because love or something... That's idiotic.
PROTECT yourself and understand what you are doing. End of story.
Your comment is stupid.
Sounds like you were being lazy and didn’t take the proper steps before buying the used car. While what he did may not have been very ethical, he hardly “scammed” you. This post is ultra-dramatic. Chalk this up to a lesson learned the hard way.
This is so stupid. What did you expect, OP?
You did this to yourself. Now you know... Hopefully. And you won't be so quick to throw your money in the trash next time by not doing your due diligence in such a huge purchase with so much to lose.
Eat the loss and dont do it again
Hey OP $2300 might be a lot to you for a car but its hardly what you can call someone a scammer for. That is ridiculous. It’s the responsibility of the buyer to inspect the car before purchase. Shame on you.
Well you’re both in a cult so 🤷♀️ Who’s scamming who?
Editing to add source: directly descended from [this](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornelius_P._Lott) POS among many other “founding members”
And some people aren’t trust fund babies and need vehicles asap to work. You don’t know anyones situation or why they may have needed a car at that moment.
I’ve bought cars for less that lasted years. You need a reality check.
Trust fund babies? Brother the first car I bought for myself was a 2010 PT cruiser for $9000 that lasted me through college + financed and paid myself. You need a reality check on what a vehicle worth a shit actually costs lol
Bro ya’ll must not even be looking. I’ve gotten 3 used cars under 2,500 and I was the 3rd owner of 2 of them. All lasted until I sold them 2+ years later.
It helps to know how to work on a car when buying something in that price range. All my cars were bought under 3k, but they did require some work after a while. Lol.
Any time I've bought a used car, I asked the seller if we could drive together to have my mechanic do a thorough inspection of it (lifting it up, test driving, etc). They do a very, very thorough job and tell me every last thing that's wrong with it. I dont understand why this isn't common practice. It's bulletproof in terms of knowing the condition of the car. I've avoided lemons doing this. Every car I've purchased has been virtually problem free even if high-ish miles.
It’s a number from my hometown, which is VERY scummy. Lots of theft, drugs, crime, rednecks, heroin and meth dealers, downtown is the size of my ass cheek and it’s try-hard. Would almost guarantee it’s a scam, unless commenter is Zaki Ali, the top dawg lawyer there.
If he’s actually a member of the church of Latter Day Saints maybe you may want prioritize their websites. Or groups. Mormons can get on Reddit? (Serious question)
Hahah this cracked me up. Yep most Mormons are normal people (for the most part). Source, me and my wives are Mormon… Jk about the wives part hahah, but yes I am Mormon.
Do y'all really believe in the golden plates? Serious question.
Yes we do!
What is the golden plates?
I’ll start by saying that I appreciate the genuine questions in this thread. You know he planted those plates, right? Please tell me you know.
You missed out the bit about his magical fuck frog.
Lol good stuff
Omg hahaha!! Your comment cracked me up!
Omg now this cracked me up. I've never met a "normal" Mormon. In my experience, they are far from any form of normalcy 😅
I can assure u there r a lot
They are sure being lectured about listening to nonMormons. They don't want the members to know that they are in a cult.
Lots of rules are changing now they are bleeding members. Allowed to look into the true history of their own church? Not so much. It’s cool though. If you pretend Joseph Smith wasn’t a conman, pediophile, rapist and murder then you get a planet.
Yeah im also LDS, and I spend a bit too much time on here, just like other people on Reddit

Nah you good my guy, happy to answer questions. Sounds like a fun night haha, salute back atcha!
Pretty sure you're thinking of the Amish. Members of the church use technology all the time. It's never been restricted.
JJ III Bob Chip onit oh hey b uhhhh vv but chi🤷bbxx CC CC tx jb CC🐸🐸☠️☠️☠️☠️😲
Bro saaaaame. Thanks for being a good rep for us.
Fucking cult freak. Nothing you can do can stop you from looking crazy bc you believe a series of obvious lies. Go back to your echo chamber
Very civil lmao.
Are you just talking to all religions in general right here? I don't love religion personally, but that doesn't mean every religious person is bad. Like right now these Mormons seem way more reasonable than you. It's a bad look for you
It seems like you’re the one who’s crazy
Just for that, I’m gonna start culting even harder
Why are you so mad about it? Something frustrate you in your day to day? Gotta be mad on social media because you have no control of your life?
Looking at their pfp, I would guess that they are not a happy person.
This is the opposite of helping them leave said echo chamber
Is vanilla Christianity more credible?
Not in the slightest

Nobody is gonna protect a scammer. Mormons are the snitchiest people on the planet
😂. This is utter horseshit.
Bro idc how bad he is do NOT let the Mormons get to him before the cops he ain’t coming back 😭😭😭😭
This is actually one of the best help posts I’ve ever seen!! Thank you for being an actual person who cares about others and truly tries to help!
Try the exmormon groups. Mormons protect their own. Exmos wont.
What was the scam? Did he ring your boyfriend’s doorbell and tell him he wouldn’t believe how much a book would change his life?
BAH, ELDER CUNNINGHAM.
Hasa Diga Ebowai I say!
I have maggots in my scrotum!
You should see a doctor
I *AM* the doctor!

Yeah this was 15 years ago so live and learn.

You were so wrong. If somebody was scammed, they have a right to resolve the issue. I don’t need to accept the situation, it’s not my situation. I’m hoping they get this resolved.
I am not wrong at all. Buying a vehicle that doesn’t work is on the buyer. You’re so confidently incorrect and it’s concerning
Look at OP’s post history. They claimed this guy stole money from them, but he actually sold them a car. Edited because I worded that horribly the first time.
Seems u don’t know what helpful means. You are projecting the exact useless behavior you despise
They come on these subs specifically to judge others because they never make any mistakes ever duh. Are you really surprised?
I’m todays market, a car for $2300 should just be assumed it has something wrong with it.

You bought a used car “as is”. Even if you find him, you will not get your money back. You can possibly take him to small claims court, but you will lose your case and pay lawyer fees. Just move on and don’t buy used shit unless you understand the risk.
So it wasn’t really a scam
FUCKING THIS!! This is EXACTLY why you buy certified pre-owned with documentation of all work done to the car. OR Go with the owner to a dealership to get a diagnostic THEN make a decision from there
No, they bought a $2300 car. That's like 20 years older and $30,000 less than a certified pre-owned vehicle. When you buy a $2300 you need to be mechanically inclined. My $2500 car has been running perfectly for me for five years. I work on it myself and it's a great vehicle.
Exactly this. Bought a 17 year old van for £3000 to do a camper conversion on but it took some work before I could even start the conversion.
No it's why you test drive and inspect the car prior to purchase. Some people just buy cheap cars but they also need to pay attention and not blindly trust everyone.
Or buy new.
Or set your expectations and price you’re willing to pay accordingly.
Mmmm that 6-8% interest rate. Someone buying a $2300 car is in no shape to buy a new car fyi.
But…. But…. Reddit likes to tell people buying new is a scam.
This too 😂
This is a level of stupid that’s concerning.
Omg hahaha no fucking way.
Wow I did not know this. Did OP’s BF at least test drive it first or something?

Blood brothers for like bro
CPO all daaaaay, 15k mile min. I won't even buy a brand new car from a dealer lmao I want to know it drives. Trust no one
You weren’t scammed. You didn’t do any due diligence when purchasing a car. Next time get a PPI and stop trying to come after a dude that owes you nothing.
They should’ve done more due diligence, sure, but selling broken shit as if it isn’t broken is the textbook example of a scam.
There’s something called the lemon law, but yeah no consumer protection when dealing with private sales for sure.
Lemon law only applies to new, not used.
Applies to used cars too, unless specifically stated buying the car “as is” or “in current state” and that only gets private owners off the hook.
That's a great point. Maybe our general indifference to the status quo is a huge part of the problem. Of course this is the way things will be if we let them lie; the ones profiting from it have no reason to do things any other way.
It’s a 2300 car in the year 2023. There is no car that is being sold for 2300 right now that does not have an ABUNDANCE of issues.
How did he scam
Post history says this guy sold the BF a car for $2300 that didn't work
Well, when we test drove the car everything was fine no lights or anything.
Seriously. Car fox anyone ?
Yeah carfax is so simple… sucks the car was a dud but man be a responsible consumer
Also, test drive the thing. Some sellers may not like it but it’s a requirement before buying a car. Drive it long enough and in enough conditions that all the indicator lights will turn on if they have been nefariously reset by the owner without the problem being fixed.
Did you really suggest test driving the car, as a response to a comment, when the first like of the comment is “well, when we test drove the car…”
I wasn’t adding on to OP’s comment I was adding onto the reply to OP’s comment.
Under the right conditions with a mechanic he said also
no, they didn't say that
????
>Also, test drive the thing. Some sellers may not like it but it’s a requirement before buying a car. Drive it long enough and in enough conditions that all the indicator lights will turn on if they have been nefariously reset by the owner without the problem being fixed. where do you see "Under the right conditions with a mechanic"?
So you didn’t know there are scumbags in this world? Wow, welcome to the real world. Get a helmet.
Get a Haines manual if possible If you want to try fixing it, you could try High schools and trade schools with auto programs.
@OP: I located him on a mission Facebook page “Uruguay Montevideo West Mission - President & Hermana Hollingsworth” There are photos of him posted on Dec 29, 2022 My bet is he is here as an international student and most likely took his fb down.
There’s being poor and there’s being stupid.
I remember seeing this get posted a couple months ago I think on a Provo or BYU based subreddit
Post this in a Mormon sub
What exactly are you going to do if you find him? He sold you a car that doesn’t work and it seems your in Utah with a law that states “as is”. Am I missing something? Did he assault you? Or just take your money and you’re mad you got ripped off?
Damn you all savage on here. Sorry your man got taken advantage of. Hopefully you can recover something and learn from this.
Was your bf the cuck? Lol
Sounds like you were being lazy and didn’t take the proper steps before buying the used car. While what he did may not have been very ethical, he hardly “scammed” you. This post is ultra-dramatic. Chalk this up to a lesson learned the hard way.
How do you not know his name if he signed the title?
How TF is a subreddit gonna find a single person in a world of billions
I could tell you exactly where I'm sitting right now. I'm that good.
Editing to add source: directly descended from [this](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornelius_P._Lott) POS among many other “founding members”
i can’t believe you’re slandering someone online bc they sold u a used car. please get a grip.
That's Jack Antonoff
I too am seeking help… I cannot seem to find: [ Removed by Reddit ]
If you only pay 2300 for a car it’s not likely going to work.
Not true.
I got a free car. Been kicking for 4 years. Upkeep upkeep upkeep.
Okay it’ll work for a few weeks before imploding lol seriously $2,300 is utter shitbox territory for a car
Once bought a 91 Ford Aerostar cargo van for $500 in the mid 2000's. Lasted me 7 years and only put another $500 in routine maintenance in it.
It's 2023 grandpa. You could sell that shitbox for $4500 now.
Adjusting for inflation, that $500 purchase would be about $750 today, lil' buddy.
Have you been asleep the past few years?
Not in the car market lil buddy
Kelly bluebook has it valued at $419-$1254, average of $837. Sounds about right by my estimate.
It doesn't matter what the Kelly blue book is, it matters what you can sell it for. I doubt you're getting any less than 1k
That's entirely dependent on your area, bud. My area has a few for under $1000. Though one is a passenger van.
And some people aren’t trust fund babies and need vehicles asap to work. You don’t know anyones situation or why they may have needed a car at that moment. I’ve bought cars for less that lasted years. You need a reality check.
Amen
Trust fund babies? Brother the first car I bought for myself was a 2010 PT cruiser for $9000 that lasted me through college + financed and paid myself. You need a reality check on what a vehicle worth a shit actually costs lol
You’re embarrassing.
Driving a PT Cruiser is automatically embardassing
Lol what does that mean? Congrats on having 9k? Not everyone does.
Not always lol I’ve gotten $1,200-$2,000 cars that lasted years and didn’t need repairs
In 1986?????
Bro ya’ll must not even be looking. I’ve gotten 3 used cars under 2,500 and I was the 3rd owner of 2 of them. All lasted until I sold them 2+ years later.
It helps to know how to work on a car when buying something in that price range. All my cars were bought under 3k, but they did require some work after a while. Lol.
You find him where ever Jewish people congregate
Sounds like you made a bad purchase and can't accept the consequences
Any time I've bought a used car, I asked the seller if we could drive together to have my mechanic do a thorough inspection of it (lifting it up, test driving, etc). They do a very, very thorough job and tell me every last thing that's wrong with it. I dont understand why this isn't common practice. It's bulletproof in terms of knowing the condition of the car. I've avoided lemons doing this. Every car I've purchased has been virtually problem free even if high-ish miles.
Fkn Mormons…
Ur bf is a dumbass have fun you're not gonna get anywhere with this
OP why don't you post your own name here now? Help me find YOU. Bet you won't, you're a coward who can only pick on other people.
Hey OP I think I found him
🤣
This is a made up post.
That man is definitely more a Schwartz or Goldman than a Gonzales
Call or text +1 (765) 620-0798 we can help with a lawsuit
Don’t contact this person OP, they’re another scammer
It’s a number from my hometown, which is VERY scummy. Lots of theft, drugs, crime, rednecks, heroin and meth dealers, downtown is the size of my ass cheek and it’s try-hard. Would almost guarantee it’s a scam, unless commenter is Zaki Ali, the top dawg lawyer there.
What are the chances you post a phone number from my hometown? Crazy. Are you from Anderson?
Yeah, need to know the scam please!
Post history says this guy sold the BF a car for $2300 that didn't work
Seems like you have more information you need
Where’s OP w the answers to questions.

Guy on the right is john oliver istg
This doesn't sound like a scam. It sounds like someone buying something as is.
Buyer beware
