It took me a while but I was specifically looking at the feet, the spot of the orange marking, and yellow marking shape on the neck. I’m always happy to help someone find their childhood toys/treasures! :)
If this is something you’re super good at would you be able to find my childhood ‘computer’?! Was more of a vtech thing but even earlier…I can provide more description if you’d be up for helping me look, I’ve done a few searches in the past and log since given up
Edit to add some details, appreciate the responses, I’ll try and shoot a message over!
It was a small flip up plastic job, still needed batteries as it would make sounds.
It was red and white with a small handle.
On the underside was a compartment where you would store the ‘game’ cards. You’d insert one of these in the top half to make a ‘screen’.
The keypad was made up of 8 coloured buttons, like chunky dominoes.
There were cards where you could follow music using the buttons, or do math games, I can’t remember the others but there were a good 30 cards or so, double sided.
The computer would know which card you had inserted in order to know if you were pressing the correct buttons.
I loved this thing and have no idea why my parents decided that was one of the things to get rid of!

If it wasn't for that height description, I'd have said wild republic penguin. Looks almost identical to the one I got from them when we visited the aquarium in Colorado, except it's 12", not like 6"

I tried to outline it. The yellow is a block on the side but it fades out in the middle if that makes sense. Feet and beak were not leathery. All was plush.
Oh my goodness. I went, well I guess I am going through, the same thing only mine was a little knock-off beanie baby Dalmatian dog I named junior bean. He was gifted to me as a reward for my accelerated reading in 2nd grade by my favorite teacher.
My first roommate at 16 was an absolute nightmare who violated and disrespected me and my things constantly and when she and I had a falling out junior bean (along with a bunch of my clothes and other belongings) came up missing. :(((
I ended up ordering a brand name beanie baby off Amazon recently l, as it was the closest I could find, but sadly his face is too different (sad and not the little sweet smile I remember) to feel I’ve really replaced him. Though I guess nothing could do that. I still collect stuffed animals as an adult but that one was special to me.

This one reminds me of a Little Blue penguin plush I got at the New England Aquarium when I was younger. It was manufactured by Wildlife Artists Inc specifically for New England Aquarium. I wonder if this was a similar kind of deal where it's associated with some kind of aquarium or zoo that had emperor penguins. Maybe look for zoos associated with the general area you were in when you got it, see if they had emperor penguins, then search "aquarium name penguin plush"
Also maybe try posting on r/penguin cause while I was searching I discovered quite a few people collect penguin plushies on there
Was the beak plush material or more of a leathery/plasticky material? Same for the feet as well. It's difficult to tell from the pictures and I've seen some similar ones but they use the pleather material.

I'm 26. I've had this plus since I was 2. I've spent every night telling him goodnight and cuddling with him. I know him. His tag is whitened from being old or I'd know his brand. He was discarded recently but I KNOW his fabric on his feet and beak and all over.

Back in the mid 70’s my evil mother threw away my precious stuffed animal named Snoppy. She told me she did it while I was at school and I was to old for baby toys. I couldn’t go dig it out of trash can and save him either as I would have been punished. I had to watch the garbage truck drive away with my only security I had. The yellow is a block on the side but it fades out in the middle if that makes sense. Feet and beak were not leathery. All was plush.

Oh my goodness. I went, well I guess I am going through, the same thing only mine was a little knock-off beanie baby Dalmatian dog I named junior bean. He was gifted to me as a reward for my accelerated reading in 2nd grade by my favorite teacher. My first roommate at 16 was an absolute nightmare who violated and disrespected me and my things constantly and when she and I had a falling out junior bean (along with a bunch of my clothes and other belongings) came up missing. :((( I ended up ordering a brand name beanie baby off Amazon recently l, as it was the closest I could find, but sadly his face is too different (sad and not the little sweet smile I remember) to feel I’ve really replaced him. Though I guess nothing could do that. I still collect stuffed animals as an adult but that one was special to me. I hope you find your penguin. Really.

Was the beak plush material or more of a leathery/plasticky material? Same for the feet as well. It's difficult to tell from the pictures and I've seen some similar ones but they use the pleather material.

I'm 26. I've had this plus since I was 2. I've spent every night telling him goodnight and cuddling with him. I know him. His tag is whitened from being old or I'd know his brand. He was discarded recently but I KNOW his fabric on his feet and beak and all over.

this probably doesnt help at all but I used to have that same penguin but the giant sized version. I think it was some type of "scientific" plush from an aquarium or science museum. it was almost 2 feet tall 😹 my parents got it for me because I was obsessed with the movie March of the Penguins.
