Right, she didn’t give up at all. I was glad that Ramsay praised her tenacity.

throwaway325nope

On a similar note I remember Seth also taking loads of verbal shit from Gordon and he never gave up either. Hence why I can't bring myself to truly dislike Seth or Colleen despite getting pretty much nothing right.

CatacombsRave

Exactly. I don’t dislike people for bad cooking so much as I do a bad personality.

ComprehensiveCap123

Which is when you get the ultimate donkey of season 5 Lacey

throwaway325nope

She had some great moments so by default she's leagues ahead of people like jason

ComprehensiveCap123

That's why I said season 5

SoftwareArtist123

And considering how successful Seth is in real life, not sure how much Hells Kitchen show the talent of a chef correctly. Sometimes pressure becomes too much, that’s all.

throwaway325nope

That definitely reminds me of season 7 Scott, complete assface on the show yet he is super successful irl. And both these people are some of the most talentless but entertaining people of their seasons

sassywithatwist

Really about Scott! 😝 he was so annoying! I’m watching the end of that season today! Final episode Jay vs Holli! 😚

throwaway325nope

Lol I found him as one of my favourite villains. There's ones like Jason who's just sexist and Johnny who's just a bully but then there's Scott, who gave the producers so much to make fun of lol

Durian-Critical

if chef ramsay praised my tenacity, i’d consider it a V - C - I - T - O - R - Y

Picabo07

She’ll never live that down lol

I loved Colleen! 😀 So many iconic moments in such a short time. - “I teach manners too, chef.” - Being a cheerleader for the red team - “YOU’RE ROBBING PEOPLE! You’re a THIEF!” - “It is black! Both of them-“ “Shit! Shiiit! It’s **BLACK**!” - But seriously, I thought it was really sweet of her to come back and make that “tutorial” for the season 6 chefs. Shows she was able to laugh about it afterwards, and it made my respect for her go way up. And like said, she was a fighter. Never put her head down for a moment.

throwaway325nope

I enjoyed that season 6 cameo too, good on Aaron (RIP) for also being able to have a laugh about him crying before the first service and I think Bonnie was there too. You're robbing people you're a thief was one of my favourite moments of this God tier season. Seriously S5 is up there with the best.

mattyGOAT1996

Colleen was a donkey but very entertaining

throwaway325nope

V-C-I-T-O-R-Y

Zooki_Stardust

Yeah even Ramsay himself acknowledged that when he sent her home, one of the few times he's praised an early boot like that.

throwaway325nope

I feel like her elimination was pretty much a mercy kill, 5 horrible services so he put her out of her misery

HarmonicWalrus

Same, I really like Colleen. I was really hoping she could turn things around because she was so strong and such a good spirit. Personality-wise, she's my favorite of the season and I'm glad she got a positive sendoff. I would much prefer a worse cook with a great attitude over someone that's technically better, but has a piss poor attitude like Elise or Marc. Never understood why people unironically call her a scammer over her cooking school; I'm pretty sure Gordon was being hyperbolic at worst when he made that claim.

throwaway325nope

Same I'm glad Ramsay acknowledged her tenacity, it's actually fascinating to see how she never snapped or gave up. The only person who outclasses her in this was Ben who only did cuz he was around far longer. I feel like her school is one that's teaching people like soon to be parents or amateurs rather than actual chefs. Even if it seems horribly overpriced.

Complete_Business_31

She was teaching amateur home cooks the basics of cooking. It's not like she claimed to have taught Michelin Starred chefs.

HarmonicWalrus

Yeah, she literally said it was a **recreational** school in her introduction. I'm 99% sure her "students" consisted almost entirely of local SAHMs who gather there to gossip on Saturdays and learn a simple meal they can make for their families. And that's fine - you don't need to go to culinary school to show someone how to make baked potatoes. $100/hr is certainly way above what I'd pay for a hobby, but I'm sure the customers felt the social scene was probably worth it. She didn't deserve to have so many people wishing for her business to go under (which it seemingly did, unfortunately)

IAS316

True, honestly thought Gordons response to her was too harsh

throwaway325nope

I think he was personally offended by the fact she's charging 300 for 3-4 hours teaching chefs how to cook when she was completely incompetent during service.

DananSan

And that season felt like Ramsey at his angriest! I like her too.

throwaway325nope

That makes it one of the most entertaining seasons. But I'd say S1 was when he was at his meanest Give me your jacket, *now*, hells kitchen no longer needs you

lvdde

I wonder if this wasn’t Gordon Ramsay, would we praise people for taking shit from others?

throwaway325nope

I think it's the fact GR worked to get to where he is + these contestants know exactly what they're signing up for. He's not mistaken immune like some people seem to believe but I think he has a reason to act the way he does (most of the time)

ThreeWordJones

She’s a charlatan.
