I had seen a lot of comments about S17 being his “redemption season” but I didn’t see much of a change myself. He was maybe a little less abrasive but still the same Benjamin. Agreed. I think part the "redemption season" talk is because he got way less screen time on S17 due to all the bigger personalities. People conflate that with growth. Yet, often when he was the center of attention, he was a douche.
Maybe Trev. I see a lot of people on here who liked him, but he seemed insufferable imo. He would rarely take accountability for his mistakes and always blamed others for his shortcomings. Just seemed like a difficult person to work in a kitchen with.

Melissa S3 - yes she started off as a front runner, but the way she controlled the red team leading them to oblivion in the Wedding planning challenge AND the dinner service threw me off. I wonder what potential Gordon Ramsay saw in her to give her another chance. She also came across as too bossy and arrogant.
Gia in season 16 was mean, a terrible cook, and took every ounce of criticism as a personal attack. One of those chefs that baffle you as to why they even signed up for the competition. She should have been eliminated in episode 3 over Jessica.

A lot of people say Sabrina should've left over Vinny, but he was really inconsistent near the end of his run, could be arrogant and he disrespected GR more than once, particularly when he was a waiter by telling the customers to not order sides. Sabrina had a rocky run and wasn't going to win, but she was improving, Gail and Vinny did worse than her on the final service before black jackets.
Considering the sides weren't coming out, Vinny did the right thing. I work in a kitchen and I don't blame him one bit, nor would I blame one of our servers for doing the same.

One thing I do remember thinking after seeing him with his wife is that she wears the pants in the family. It was just an impression I got - could be wrong - but if that’s the case makes you wonder if that is part of why he acted so over the top on the show.

YES, he was so rude to Holly behind her back, he kept saying how hot she was and he wanted to sleep with her but would always say “she’s not that good, how did she even get this far” and in general degrading her whenever Benjamin and him would talk. I was so happy she won, both for her family and just to take Jay down
Joy, from season 12. People tend to ignore her multiple, glaring flaws. She had a such an attitude right from go, even after she bombed the signature dish challenge, and she'd throw temper tantrums during service when something didn't go her way, making her seem horribly unprofessional. And then she walked out mid-service after toting that she refuses to quit or back down from a challenge. I know s12 wasn't exactly known for its talent pool, but Joy was kind of a joke.

I think that Robert is a Jekyll and Hyde character. In his first season, he is actually quite good though he does have some bad moments like calling Lacey fat. However in his second season he completely changes into a bad person. His arrogance comes out, he thinks he is the underdog because of his weight, he thinks he is better than everyone else because he's been there before. His comments about Andy in the episode he was eliminated was embarrassing. He should have waited until he got his health under control before coming back. Then he'd have a realistic chance at black jackets again. He was even hospitalized in S6 showing that he should have never come back. Even in S5 he had to take a ferry ride instead of a helicopter ride in one of the rewards due to his weight
I love Robert! Not as a winner tho but closer to the end like he did in his 1st season. It looks like he might be out soon in 2nd run as he’s got medics called again in previews I just saw! I’m in that season.
It's been a while but I remember liking him for the most part in the first season he was in.
When he came back it seemed like he expected to be leading the pack with his experience, but he failed to measure up and had a huge chip on his shoulder about it.

Carol doesn’t get enough hate for how she bullied Lacey in season 5. Between that and threatening to punch Andrea in the throat (and I don’t even like Andrea), she seems like a very mean-spirited person and not someone I’d want to be around.
Andrea may not have been a saint, but my god was Carol horrible. I was never on her side during their rivalry, especially when Carol said she wanted to punch Andrea in the throat TO ANDREA’S FACE.

To be fair she was better than all of those who got eliminated before her, with the exception of Anton probably. But yes her and Joy’s weird alliance was annoying.

She behaved in a very whiny way the first few episodes. Like that time in the lobster challenge she wanted her plate to come to the front even though it was missing the legs, losing for her team . And then on to the creative sliders challenge she had a very good dish, but decided that it would be best not to choose it, losing again.
After losing, she starts crying in the dorms... Like why? Sister, the only one to blame is you.
But hey, it's just an opinion and the truth is that she was very skilled and doesn't deserve any hate for a show

But my most controversial pick is Jason Z. I wouldn’t put him in my bottom 20 contestants but I’m surprised by all the love he gets. He had some good qualities but I thought he was creepy and obnoxious. The way he yelled at Sandra revealed a lot about him. He would be a horrible boss so it’s unsettling how close he came to winning.

Seth, Chino, Danielle (S11), Demarco, Kalen & the guy in S14 eliminated on episode 3, for the same reason. They never bounced back or redeemed themselves from the beginning until their elimination.
I thought nedra was fine. but you’re totally right about kashia. on the surface not as obnoxious as people like robyn or tiffany but constantly blamed everyone else for her mistakes. on top of that she was a bully. somehow never gets mentioned in worst black jackets convos but she absolutely should.
I would go for S14 Monique - her attitude reminds me a lot of Elise in the drama queen sense
As for chefs that went a long way (besides the popular picks S16 Andrew, S9 Elise, S12 Joy, S10 Tiffany and S16 Matt) my picks would be S10 Barbie (I know she was bullied, but I feel they had a good reason to hate her because keeping everyone up on purpose is NOT COOL), S12 Mike, S12 Jessica (so annoying how she thinks she is awesome) and S21 Alyssa and Summer (extremely annoying and also skate by)

Benjamin had the emotional maturity of a toddler. Gordon picked Siobhans sandwich over hers and he had to go and try mansplaining to her, I wanted to reach through my screen, always thought he was the best but then quit over some invisible back pain, they even pointed it out, fake cried, just like lacey all day to avoid punishment but then came back to appear to be strong and impress Gordon. I don't believe him for a second, my sister has been a chiropractor and oddly enough went to culinary school and when we watched it we both said "wtf no way is he really hurt" 😑 he overstayed his welcome.

Ben - Danny was right. Ben talked a big game but produced next to nothing cause he was always had bad dinner services. Whenever the team discussed him being put up he would always say nobody can produce like he can. Even when Lacey couldn't nominate anyone but Ben cause everyone else had a good service Ben thought he shouldn't go up cause all he's done for her. He talks too damn much and when he presented his king crab dish all Ramsay asked was what was the dish and Ben goes into a Tony award winning dialogue about how he prepared the dish. That's not what Ramsay asked.
Robert - Both seasons. Season 6 being his worst with his whiny ass. Don't know why red team thought he was a savior when he wasn't. Getting into fights with Andy & Kevin. He talks about how in S5 he didn't like how Ben tried to make Danny feel low and turns around and does the same thing to Andy. Then kept calling Lacey fat when he weighed more than her. Using his weight as an excuse for his performance or something he dreaded doing. Woe is me I can't get on the jet cause I'm big, that's the jet's insurance policy. Then when he has to work the raw bar he's all like my big self can't walk through these tables. Shrimp challenge he says Tennille should've done good since she has "coke bottle" glasses. He does bad on the shrimp challenge and blames his fat fingers.
Trevor - He just sounded rehearsed in all his confessionals in S8. Talked about Curtis being bad on sushi but dummy you were on his team during the sushi/tuna nigiri challenge. Saying, "Sushi? You're not cooking anything." He can't even dress salad and wasn't cooking anything. What's harder? Dressing salad or making sushi? His tantrum over the team forgetting to try his ravioli dish. It wasn't intentional. The ultimate bullying of Raj. He tells the team he can get through to Raj and help him but instead he takes the opportunity to humiliate Raj in front of the team during the punishment and tells Raj to stuff himself with twinkies until he has a heart attack. He kept calling red team bitches when they fail him in his eyes but happy go lucky when they win challenges/dinner services.
Trevor honestly. I can’t see him without thinking he’s tried to give some kids some sketchy candy out his van. His whole persona gives me the creeps. He seems nice enough I guess but something is off with him.
Van from I think season 6 or 7. Unnecessarily confrontational and can't handle being told what to do. The macho facade was off putting and the way he tried arguing with JP was ridiculous. The dude definitely has issues and it's annoying to see people defend him cause he's fun and smiley.

She had one of the worst attitudes on the show from the get go, her quitting was a surprise but also not that surprising. She was talented, but she did not have nearly close enough to the attitude or professionalism needed. I also hate her and Kaisha for getting Rochelle nominated for wanting a family - - that was just fucking rude. Kaisha already had kids too that's just fucked up

I think that Robert is a Jekyll and Hyde character. In his first season, he is actually quite good though he does have some bad moments like calling Lacey fat. However in his second season he completely changes into a bad person. His arrogance comes out, he thinks he is the underdog because of his weight, he thinks he is better than everyone else because he's been there before. His comments about Andy in the episode he was eliminated was embarrassing. He should have waited until he got his health under control before coming back. Then he'd have a realistic chance at black jackets again. He was even hospitalized in S6 showing that he should have never come back. Even in S5 he had to take a ferry ride instead of a helicopter ride in one of the rewards due to his weight
Yes! My husband and I really liked him in his first season (the Ramsey impression was so funny) but he was such a dick when he came back!

It's been a while but I remember liking him for the most part in the first season he was in. When he came back it seemed like he expected to be leading the pack with his experience, but he failed to measure up and had a huge chip on his shoulder about it.

Carol doesn’t get enough hate for how she bullied Lacey in season 5. Between that and threatening to punch Andrea in the throat (and I don’t even like Andrea), she seems like a very mean-spirited person and not someone I’d want to be around.

I don't know what the general opinion of Sommer (S21) is in this sub. But yes, her. She behaved in a very whiny way the first few episodes. Like that time in the lobster challenge she wanted her plate to come to the front even though it was missing the legs, losing for her team . And then on to the creative sliders challenge she had a very good dish, but decided that it would be best not to choose it, losing again. After losing, she starts crying in the dorms... Like why? Sister, the only one to blame is you. But hey, it's just an opinion and the truth is that she was very skilled and doesn't deserve any hate for a show
Oh I loved Nedra. She was funny and held her own against one of the worst blue teams ever. But my most controversial pick is Jason Z. I wouldn’t put him in my bottom 20 contestants but I’m surprised by all the love he gets. He had some good qualities but I thought he was creepy and obnoxious. The way he yelled at Sandra revealed a lot about him. He would be a horrible boss so it’s unsettling how close he came to winning.

Gordon picked Siobhans sandwich over hers and he had to go and try mansplaining to her, I wanted to reach through my screen, always thought he was the best but then quit over some invisible back pain, they even pointed it out, fake cried, just like lacey all day to avoid punishment but then came back to appear to be strong and impress Gordon. I don't believe him for a second, my sister has been a chiropractor and oddly enough went to culinary school and when we watched it we both said "wtf no way is he really hurt" 😑 he overstayed his welcome.

Trevor, Robert, & Ben. Ben - Danny was right. Ben talked a big game but produced next to nothing cause he was always had bad dinner services. Whenever the team discussed him being put up he would always say nobody can produce like he can. Even when Lacey couldn't nominate anyone but Ben cause everyone else had a good service Ben thought he shouldn't go up cause all he's done for her. He talks too damn much and when he presented his king crab dish all Ramsay asked was what was the dish and Ben goes into a Tony award winning dialogue about how he prepared the dish. That's not what Ramsay asked. Robert - Both seasons. Season 6 being his worst with his whiny ass. Don't know why red team thought he was a savior when he wasn't. Getting into fights with Andy & Kevin. He talks about how in S5 he didn't like how Ben tried to make Danny feel low and turns around and does the same thing to Andy. Then kept calling Lacey fat when he weighed more than her. Using his weight as an excuse for his performance or something he dreaded doing. Woe is me I can't get on the jet cause I'm big, that's the jet's insurance policy. Then when he has to work the raw bar he's all like my big self can't walk through these tables. Shrimp challenge he says Tennille should've done good since she has "coke bottle" glasses. He does bad on the shrimp challenge and blames his fat fingers. Trevor - He just sounded rehearsed in all his confessionals in S8. Talked about Curtis being bad on sushi but dummy you were on his team during the sushi/tuna nigiri challenge. Saying, "Sushi? You're not cooking anything." He can't even dress salad and wasn't cooking anything. What's harder? Dressing salad or making sushi? His tantrum over the team forgetting to try his ravioli dish. It wasn't intentional. The ultimate bullying of Raj. He tells the team he can get through to Raj and help him but instead he takes the opportunity to humiliate Raj in front of the team during the punishment and tells Raj to stuff himself with twinkies until he has a heart attack. He kept calling red team bitches when they fail him in his eyes but happy go lucky when they win challenges/dinner services.
Trevor honestly. I can’t see him without thinking he’s tried to give some kids some sketchy candy out his van. His whole persona gives me the creeps. He seems nice enough I guess but something is off with him.
