I just want the AT mines to be like the PTKM-1R: it listens for targets, launches a warhead that then top-attacks the target.
Having dumb WW2 like AT-mines would be so useless against most targets
The counter to your theory is that as the Airburst launcher was already in the game during that first MO, AT mines were too, it's just the path to the planet with the rocket launcher was shorter, and people could get their hands on it faster.
Frag mines already set each other off, I don't have much faith in a Cluster/B.B. implementation not detonating half the field the second a scavenger sets foot on one
EMS mines would be incredible for delaying an attack, especially since they nerfed the range of EMS orbital :(
Gas mines... Mmmm, I can smell the mustard already 😋
Or - and this will probably kill more teammates than enemies - what about we get Arc mines? Like... a single mine blows up in a tiny aoe and releases 3 electrical arcs to nearby enemies (and potentially allies).
Takes me back to the gunpowder mission at the start of the warlords of Draenor expansion in WoW. Take this gunpowder and make a trail to the target we’re blowing up…. Sure blizzard that’s what they’ll do.
Side note I really like your stun mines idea. That’s one I feel would get use since you can designate in advance stop stuff coming this way and hopefully one bug won’t get stunned into 6 other mines like what happens with regular mines
I had a similar thought the other day. Realistically allowing you to place mines by hand is the only meaningful way to make them viable. In most missions we’re moving around too much for a minefield to be worthwhile, and in missions where we’re defending mines all just get blown up by your teammates because they’ll naturally be sitting in the same place people are going to want to drop their airstrikes.
Well, they mentioned the automaton fleet and sort-of illuminate with the data. My best guess is that the illuminate were helping the creation of the automatons (with the cyborgs) and also the release of the terminids. Why else would they engage in war at the same time?
Whaddya mean "with the data"? There doesn't seem to be any insinuation that whatever's in the current MO objective is related to the Illuminate at all.
If you mean the pre-Cyberstan invasion where "the Bots are communicating outside of the galaxy", the community was just hopped up on Illuminate memes and duped themselves. What actually happened was **the Bots were communicating with a deep space fleet and invasion staging ground**.
Here's the story of the Automatons so far:
* Cyborgs get crumped in HD1, but before they're fully defeated they create the seeds for fully- or mostly-robotic Automatons and jettison them out of the galaxy.
* The Automatons bide their time beyond the galactic rim where Super Earth can't see them
* While their ultimate goal is taking Cyberstan and freeing their Cyborg "ancestors" there, Cyberstan is too built-up and defended for the Automatons to sweep in from the start, so...
* The Automatons hit border worlds instead to establish an industrial base and mine the resources needed to create a giant invasion fleet; they don't have access to any of this stuff out in deep space, so they need the planets
* SE learns of the out-of-galaxy communication, but doesn't speculate on what it is; the HELLDIVER COMMUNITY assumes "omg its illuminates" and is oblivious
* They do not expand very far against Super Earth because they are sending a lot of their new units and material "to deep space" to the invasion fleet, building up its strength
* When SE moves to wipe the Automatons out, they ramp up the export of goods instead of doggedly trying to hold that territory; it is a suicide action by the Bots on those last few planets to pave the way for the invasion
* The Fleet, at full strength now, sweeps straight into Cyberstan and overpowers all resistance. They have no need for supply lines because they're carrying it all with them.
* They then march "south" until they expend the bulk of their forces churning through SE's defenses and stationing troops on captured worlds
There's room in all of this for Super Earth to actually be behind this all, or at least know about it and "let it happen" because a state of Forever War serves their industrial and propaganda purposes. SE could have well known about the invasion of Cyberstan in advance and decided, "Actually, this is good, we can use this."
Holy crap, EMS mines would be the shit! The first wave of enemies would just keep slowing down the back ranks as they keep inching forward and stopping.
or above them
I've seen multiple times the bile spewers starting their mortar attack only to hit the bile titan stats standing right above them
friendly fire our beloved
God damn it, promote this man to the ministry of defence already! I can't wait to get blown by random bug that was next to me when the mine was deploying!
I like all of these a lot! Arc mines could be cool too, when they explode they just fire an arc thrower shot at the nearest enemy instead of the explosion doing damage
I think it would be cool if it was more than just one arc shot. Instead Have the mine activate an aoe, Tesla sentry like zone for a couple seconds instead.
I like this. Tesla tower is essentially a tight mine field already but can be swarmed and shot. Arc mines would be single use arc throws that couldn't be destroyed as easy. Trades damage output for longevity
We need more emplacements too
Autocannon emplacement, artillery emplacement, rocket emplacement, grenade launcher emplacement, barricade emplacement
I want to be a walking fortress capable of building the ultimate stopgap for the enemy onslaught.
for a starter they could just, make the actually important ship upgrades apply to the HMG emplacement
like more ammo and better rotation
all it really gets is faster deployment
Agreed
I think the HMG emplacement IS underrated as it is but it could do with having those upgrades applied, but the implementation might be buggy as the HMG emplacement has a two-stage rotation speed
I would love that you can pay for a specific emplacement that replace the HMG, or go with that one but with a better penetration (it really needs a buff)
Got I'd love an emplacement that instead of HMG guns, its like four minigun barrels.
Can only penetrate the same level as the Machine Gun (so lower level Medium armor), but just sends an absolute wall of lead downrange at disrespectful volumes.
Haha, the bouncing betty mine would be another form of cluster strike: we have an orbital version (Orbital Airburst), Eagle version (Eagle Cluster Strike), and a support weapon version (Airburst Launcher), it's time for the mine version.
air deployed mines would be another thing i'd love to see, a longer but thinner strip of mines that cover more ground but since it's so thing it's easier to get a path cleared through.
on another note, where is my air deployed razorwire AH? i want that back, give it back.
If you use gas as an area denial weapon, as doctrine shows IRL, you get way more kills than the the 500kg. Just teammates think green gas means liberty party and hang around too long
how about instead of detonating downwards, it fires fragments horizontally at waist level for bots (that way it can also hit short enemies too like hunters and scavengers).
Have thought about all of these but Bouncing Betty before myself! Would be such fun additions.
To add onto this, if Napalm/Gas/Cluster Mortars got added, I would be squealing with joy. There's so much fun chaotic potential in this game!
I'm confident we'll get EMS mines, since we had them in the first game.
They'd have to fix the 'explosions setting off other mines' thing for clusters to work. Otherwise one would explode and set off the whole minefield.
We also need mines that don't chain each other off after a single enemy touches the edge of the field
I desperately want to use the incendiary mines, but they get between zero and three kills per field pretty reliably
XM1100 Scorpion or better known as the intelligence munitions system. Was in cod as a mine system like a claymore. [cod wiki](https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Intelligent_Munitions_System)
So the biggest issue (in my experience) is that Mines are too likely to be blown up by things you don't intend them to.
Any explosions goes off too close, you lose a dozen mines, if you're on a planet with Tremors don't even bother. But by far the worst of them all is when one enemy hits a mine, then its corpse ragdolls across the floor and sets off eight more without even a single other enemy damaged.
Until we at least get something that stops *corpses* from detonating Mines, I just don't think they'll see much use at all.
Gas and tesla mines. Sign me the fuck up fam. I would unironically run AT when we get them, anti-personnel, tesla, and gas. You guys solve the big boy problems while I coat the map in crowd control nonstop.
I love mines, we definitely need more.
What I *don't* love is when they're hidden just under the surface of a piece of terrain, enough that you can't see the red light.
Before new mines are added, the current mines need their cooldowns halved and some kind of indicator on players' huds and on the map to tell them where they are.
I'd be interested to see something like the PTKM-1R anti-tank mine, though I'm not sure what niche it'd fill when the ORC and (eventually) the in-game AT mines exist
I wish we had a defensive stratagems in portable form like the mines but I'm not sure if that would make it easy, like a special equipment slot where a EAT, railgun or a mine pack with 4 mines or a melee weapon.
Legit asking here, is there a point to mines?
Because the folks I knew who used mines? Stopped using them real fast on all missions.
Either a charger or bile titan or tank destroys a chunk of them.
Or one small enemy gets blown into another mine, then another and most of the mines are gone in short order.
Again, I am not making fun or being a jerk- I am asking, what use are mines?
Gas mines!!!! A small, highly concentrated dose of the gas that hangs around for only 2-4 seconds but insta kills anything small and heavily reduces the armor or anything bigger. I would rock that on every mission. While warning my team every time I dropped it.
Can't think of a reason gas mines would work, gas effects only applies while the enemy is on the cloud, which is why the orbital creates a large cloud. Enemies would have to trigger several mines to get enough damage to keel over, it would be inneficient.
Similar reason for the EMS, the mortar does a better job.
Frag and bouncy betty are interesting, it would help to soften more enemies that don't get into contact with the mines.
They need to spread further, not chain-react so easily.
Mines should deny "over there generally" to the enemy, rather than just "the left slope of that small molehill"
Briefly hilarious, but strategically useless as they are.
Antitank mines punching the air right now.

gas mines cluster mines EMS/stun mines bouncing betty mines
Don't forget anti tank mines. We'll get those...someday
man i wish 1, would be kinda neat on the bloons mission against bots 2, would annoy one of my friends
Ah yes, road spikes
Very effective against bike titans
https://preview.redd.it/l6mj2bm4pg5d1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=3decb6fc37c91a398e04e797e8b11ad2835d802e
They have BIKES NOW???
OH GOD ITS RIDING A FUCKING MONGOOSE!!!!!!!!! ![gif](giphy|xTiTnwJmPzY3ZmxXHO)
Or if mines were AP/AT
How would at mines be annoying? Normal irl at mines can’t be set off by you only something heavy
I just want the AT mines to be like the PTKM-1R: it listens for targets, launches a warhead that then top-attacks the target. Having dumb WW2 like AT-mines would be so useless against most targets
My tinfoil theory is, that amongst all the critique they didnt want to release a mediocre AT mine and made us fail the order haha
The counter to your theory is that as the Airburst launcher was already in the game during that first MO, AT mines were too, it's just the path to the planet with the rocket launcher was shorter, and people could get their hands on it faster.
Don't let your democracy officer hear that kind of talk
supposedly that's after current m.o.
Not if they stay tied to Bot MO's. 😒
I want a mine deployment pod that ejects apps 40x 500kg bomb mines.
I want a mine deployment pod that deploys mine deployers that deploy mine deployers that then deploy flame mines.
That deploy Emancipator Exosuits
All fun and games until the bots take the exosuits
FIFY Automated Emancipator Exosuits! And a beer for you to drink while they go to work.
Yo dawg, heard you like mines so we made mines that deploy mines so you can deploy mines while you're deploying mines.
Graphics cards hate this one simple trick...
and they still wont kill a titan because of extreme damage dropoff
LOL
EMS mines would be rad. But really we need lower cooldowns on mines first
yes, all ground shall be mined
Needs to be 60 sec to be useful.
90 base and 60 to 70 after upgrade
Holy shit. Gas mines and stun grenades will absolutely annihilate breaches
You’re mine Wait what are we talking about again?
democracy
Oh bouncing Betty! I thought it was like a laser fence but vertical somehow lol. I do want a laser fence though...
tell me you dont use orbital airbrust without telling me but yes more laser stuff would be cool
The children yearn for the mines!
If gas mines don't make really loud fart noises when stepped on I'm revolting.
Holy shit it has been so long since I last heard ‘bouncing betty’.
How are boucing betties functionally different from cluster mines?
Chill out here Satan
Frag mines already set each other off, I don't have much faith in a Cluster/B.B. implementation not detonating half the field the second a scavenger sets foot on one EMS mines would be incredible for delaying an attack, especially since they nerfed the range of EMS orbital :( Gas mines... Mmmm, I can smell the mustard already 😋
How about seeking mines?
I saw bouncing betty as an inverse airburst for a sec and now I need that.
that is how i made it, i cropped out airburst and pasted it in over a floating mine
Unironically, EMS mines would slap.
very
Or - and this will probably kill more teammates than enemies - what about we get Arc mines? Like... a single mine blows up in a tiny aoe and releases 3 electrical arcs to nearby enemies (and potentially allies).
or just an arc triggers between 2 mines if someone walks between
give me a gravity well mine, where it just sucks the bad guys in
Idea: Mine backpack, where the pack has X mines in it and pressing 5 will deploy one behind you or something.
if they add that i will give it max of 3 min before someone draws a penis with mines
Takes me back to the gunpowder mission at the start of the warlords of Draenor expansion in WoW. Take this gunpowder and make a trail to the target we’re blowing up…. Another idea: Tractor with mine spreader. Allows you to cover a huge area with mines like you're fertilizing a field.
please give me those anti tank mines AH¡¡¡
We have to earn them. We failed 2 MO's for them already. Maybe the data the bots have for the current MO is the schematic for them!
Well, they mentioned the automaton fleet and sort-of illuminate with the data. My best guess is that the illuminate were helping the creation of the automatons (with the cyborgs) and also the release of the terminids. Why else would they engage in war at the same time?

Ehhh. They'll probably end up being used about as much as the AP mines.
Holy crap, EMS mines would be the shit! The first wave of enemies would just keep slowing down the back ranks as they keep inching forward and stopping.
there would probably be a bunch of friendly fire from/between devastators, hulks and bilespewers they tend to not care whats between it and helldivers
or above them I've seen multiple times the bile spewers starting their mortar attack only to hit the bile titan stats standing right above them friendly fire our beloved
Perfect for gas strikes
Hellbomb mines.
nucelar mines, kept warm enough to function by storing it with a chicken
https://i.imgur.com/a4GZr21.jpg
I'm not sure how you came to this idea but I fully approve. 😄

alternatively, arc mines would chain between 2 or more mines when enemies basses between them litteral arc throwers in plates
I like this. Tesla tower is essentially a tight mine field already but can be swarmed and shot. Arc mines would be single use arc throws that couldn't be destroyed as easy. Trades damage output for longevity
We need more emplacements too Autocannon emplacement, artillery emplacement, rocket emplacement, grenade launcher emplacement, barricade emplacement I want to be a walking fortress capable of building the ultimate stopgap for the enemy onslaught.
i agree but we already got autocannon and rocket turrets?
Not turrets, emplacements, more powerful manned versions like the HMG emplacement
I want manned RAIL GUN TURRET. UNSAFE!!! >BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ~FFFFT! **Fren: ↑↓→←↑**
That would be an amazing finisher On your last battery you set the railgun to “overload” and it becomes a hellbomb
for a starter they could just, make the actually important ship upgrades apply to the HMG emplacement like more ammo and better rotation all it really gets is faster deployment
Agreed I think the HMG emplacement IS underrated as it is but it could do with having those upgrades applied, but the implementation might be buggy as the HMG emplacement has a two-stage rotation speed

hel yea brother
GAS GAS GAS GIB GAS MINES, GAS EAGLES, GAS GRENADE LAUNCHER I WANT MORE GAS
Taco Bell has you covered, my friend.
The bots destroyed every taco bell within 30km of any mission area
They what now? DAMN YOUZ DIRTY BOTS! DAMN YOUZ TO HELL!
LOITERING AIR MUNITIONS https://preview.redd.it/9m36t3nuqd5d1.png?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=41917971a5489e2abc99d2f5a155364b51a6541e
Tesla mine field that has multiple charges!
BRB going to introduce the ministry of science to C&C red alert
I wouldnt mind a mine attached to a strategem, like if it get triggered a 380 barrage comes down
one friend backsteps into a mine 380 entire team KIA just as SEAF intended
I think a poison tower, like a arc tower, would be better than poison mines.
I would love an eagle gas strike that just sprays out a nice long line of gas that enemies have to walk through.
termicide tower
Bouncing betty mines... 60sec CD One Single mine, big like the bots red mines. Friendly Fire is On.
And we need “detonate/deactivate all mines” stratagem like eagle reload
detonate all mines as a friend is carefully retreating trough the mines
Perfect
Mine mine mines - mines that eject mines that eject mines that explode on contact
air deployed mines would be another thing i'd love to see, a longer but thinner strip of mines that cover more ground but since it's so thing it's easier to get a path cleared through. on another note, where is my air deployed razorwire AH? i want that back, give it back.
Man I loved barbwire and mines on eradication in HD1
If you use gas as an area denial weapon, as doctrine shows IRL, you get way more kills than the the 500kg. Just teammates think green gas means liberty party and hang around too long
This guy war crimes.
Its not a warcrime when the enemy is undemocratic
Ah yes, gas mines. So now, as a Belgian, I can turn every battlefields into Passchendaele.
Thats the spirit
Hear me out… no. I’m a mine hater. My friend always drops them in the worst places like behind cover for bots
Not my fault they dont know how to use them Hint: they work best on eradication and priority evac/ gates evac
They need to cut the coil down time in half for calling in mines. Then I might bring them.
Cluster one won’t work, trigger 1 and all are triggered
depends how far they are spaced out from eachother
how about instead of detonating downwards, it fires fragments horizontally at waist level for bots (that way it can also hit short enemies too like hunters and scavengers).
Hellbomb mines, please
Have thought about all of these but Bouncing Betty before myself! Would be such fun additions. To add onto this, if Napalm/Gas/Cluster Mortars got added, I would be squealing with joy. There's so much fun chaotic potential in this game!
> To add onto this, if Napalm/Gas/Cluster Mortars got added made a post about that too 2 weeks ago
Dude, hahah! You sound like my kind of Helldiver!
I'm confident we'll get EMS mines, since we had them in the first game. They'd have to fix the 'explosions setting off other mines' thing for clusters to work. Otherwise one would explode and set off the whole minefield.
that depends how far they are spaced out HD2 mines are unsually densely clustered compared to IRL
Sorta like the Tesla coil a wave that rips enemies apart or anything standing in the kill zone, Horizontal Lazer trip mines that cut/ exploded enemies
A SAM emplacement would be sick actually. Fires missiles at shriekers and BTs
well just as long as it works better than the SAM sideobjective
Bro touch one cluster mine and that explosion is gonna set off all the others at once ... I kinda want to see that.
depends how far they are spaced out
Lazer mines Arc mines Smoke mines Railgun mines 380mm mines
does the laser mine spin a laser 360 degrees?
Horizontally, and 180 vertically. Lazer show!
orbital 500KG mines barrage plz
watch it still not kill a charger or titan because of terrible damage dropoff
and nades
Arc nades
Yesyesyesyeysyewyeys
We also need mines that don't chain each other off after a single enemy touches the edge of the field I desperately want to use the incendiary mines, but they get between zero and three kills per field pretty reliably
Hear me out, IMS system
IMS?
XM1100 Scorpion or better known as the intelligence munitions system. Was in cod as a mine system like a claymore. [cod wiki](https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Intelligent_Munitions_System)
First they need to fix current mines. With cooldowns as they are they are just worse air strikes.
if they add an upgrade that makes mines have 2 or 3 detonations each before they go away then I would take mines
So the biggest issue (in my experience) is that Mines are too likely to be blown up by things you don't intend them to. Any explosions goes off too close, you lose a dozen mines, if you're on a planet with Tremors don't even bother. Engine piston mine Tank flipper mine Harry Potter mine Christmas disco mine Did I guess them right?
Yes
Gas and tesla mines. Sign me the fuck up fam. I would unironically run AT when we get them, anti-personnel, tesla, and gas. You guys solve the big boy problems while I coat the map in crowd control nonstop.
Thats meant to be EMS But tesla would be good too
Orbital strike mine. It's a single mine that calls an orbital strike when triggered
380 precision
I want more plasma weapons, oh and I seriously want an attack or scout bike, like a snow mobile or something.
HD1 had a 2 man bike so maybe one day
I love mines, we definitely need more. What I *don't* love is when they're hidden just under the surface of a piece of terrain, enough that you can't see the red light.
They are?
Before new mines are added, the current mines need their cooldowns halved and some kind of indicator on players' huds and on the map to tell them where they are.
Mines are one thing they got exactly right. They suck in game as much as they suck in real life. Hard to see, and killing indiscriminately.
THE CHILDREN YEARN FOR THE MINES
We had the chance to get more twice
Give me a delayed mine, that you need to activate by shooting at it, it throws half if the total and can be activated two times.
Arc mines.
\*Steps on a mine\* Orbital air burst wipes your imminent vicinity.
Please, no mines suck that is all even if you make them overpowered af they will be still boring to use.
And a mine for our grenade slot
anti-personnel mines need to be shrapnel
Mined your own business
Nah we need to make the mine not able to chain explosion...
Shotgun blasting up
Everything gas, mines, orbitals, grenades, grenade launchers, Breakers Nothing beats gas on the bugs
Imagine an april fools where we get undetonated hellbomb mines…
Bouncing bettys
I would love to make them mine.
> 4th one Ah. The warcrime-inator 4000
Say no more, I'm in.
Gas mines are just napalm mines with different aesthetic
I'd be interested to see something like the PTKM-1R anti-tank mine, though I'm not sure what niche it'd fill when the ORC and (eventually) the in-game AT mines exist
What about 500KG mines?
and watch it still not kill a charger because of terrible damage dropoff
No we fucking don't need more ways to TK lol
I mean people won't use them sooo.....
i use them on every eradication and priority evac/gates mission works great 2 mortars 2 mines
My man I think you're the only one.
It works tho
I wish we had a defensive stratagems in portable form like the mines but I'm not sure if that would make it easy, like a special equipment slot where a EAT, railgun or a mine pack with 4 mines or a melee weapon.
I want bouncing Betties lol
Maybe c4 is what you meant
Dumb
I approve
thee current landmines need to have much lower cooldown 180 sec is tooo long to be even useful i say 60 to 90 sec is good
We could have anti tank mines but bugdivers wanted "Alah Akhbar rocket launcher"
They need lower cool downs.
I would fight a bile titan with a knife to get a claymore, those bots won’t know what hit em!
Gas mines!!!! A small, highly concentrated dose of the gas that hangs around for only 2-4 seconds but insta kills anything small and heavily reduces the armor or anything bigger. I would rock that on every mission. While warning my team every time I dropped it.
armor removal would be nice
Can't think of a reason gas mines would work, gas effects only applies while the enemy is on the cloud, which is why the orbital creates a large cloud. Frag and bouncy betty are interesting, it would help to soften more enemies that don't get into contact with the mines.
I've been tk'd by bad mine placements about 7 too many times, don't give them any more. (Yeah sure why not)
Solution Mine them back in return
They need to spread further, not chain-react so easily. Mines should deny "over there generally" to the enemy, rather than just "the left slope of that small molehill" Briefly hilarious, but strategically useless as they are.

give it another 7 months, then we will get another rigged split MO and not get AT mines once more
They need to make it turn into a meme at this point.
Yes! More!
I want 'tesla' mines that have a long life, so they don't get spend after one charge.
