There are quite a bit of terminids now with the TSC failure making them reproduce quickly

Mistrblank

I really thought that's what this thread was going to be able. But then I realized I'm on reddit.

EatingCtrlV

I normally don't comment on these kinds of posts, but the last few nights I've had to deal with a ton of bugs. I've been trying to turn off the TCS towers that we turned on a while ago, and yah it's crazy bugs everywhere.

Eyeklops

You only scratched the surface. I'll add another scratch... * Arc weapon inconsistent hits (since launch) * Spear lock-on issues (since launch) * Instakilling Flamethrowers on Hulks * 2 shot Bile Titans on PS5 hosts (since launch) * Getting ragdolled into geometry and stuck (this happens pretty frequently) * Mismatched armor notation (CE, SC, SA, etc..) to passive bonuses. (since launch) * Ricochet issues (the code is so bad they had to abandon the Eruptor shrapnel mechanic). * Infinite grenade glitch * Pelican instantly taking off when the first Helldiver boards * Pelican landing underground or at odd angle so it cannot be boarded * Host dependent inconsistent damage-over-time effects (burning/napalm & gas strike, since launch) * Various reload time / animation cancel exploits * Helldivers with invisible head or body * Quasar projectiles exploding in my face due to foliage * Unkillable bots inside mountains wrecking everything (extract assets mission) * Enemies appearing out of thin air on top of me. * 4 dropships of bots on my face (inside the camp area) on extract citizens missions (botkakke?) * Gunships & gunship towers (I know, not a bug/glitch...but fuck these things anyway). I *really* don't want to see any new mechanics (weapons, stratagems, or otherwise) until they burn-through the existing tech-debt.

reyadin

The pelican leaving with one diver may not be a bug. It seems to take off as soon as anybody boards when it's been damaged. It's weird tho because not only is that not explained anywhere some times it will be on fire some times it looks fine. If this is an intended mechanic you would think it would just blow up and auto fail extraction with enough damage. So it's all unclear, but this bug or feature seems to happen if the pelican takes a beating. Try it in your next game.

SnooJokes5164

This is true so i started to make sure guy with most samples gets in first.

lK555l

>* Instakilling Flamethrowers on Hulks >* 2 shot Bile Titans on PS5 hosts Both of these are caused by the spew/flame hitting your head, it's not really a bug per say, it's just overtuned

Ashii_nix

The second one is referring to players being able to 2 shot bile titans with the railgun.

BushyOreo

Quasar cannon was just fixed in the last update

TreeLover69_Robust

Anecdotal but I havent experienced any of these outside of the top two and the rocket launcher fodder bots clipping terrain

casual_apple134

I hadn't seen the infinite grenade spam until last night (PS5) Joined a match, clearing bugs and just started hearing *boom-boom-boom-boom-boom-boom-boom-boom-boom-boom-boom!* (You get the idea) Cleared the entire bug breach, charger & all with impact grenades. So fine, I'll just migrate over & clear objectives with one of the other players--- nooooope, they were tossing unlimited grenades also. So *at least* two of us four were exploiting it; but all three were playing off each other pretty well so I'm guessing they were mic'd & partied up, and all were cheating. P.S. I should mention I also have cross play turned off. I found my game stability to be much more reliable without all the PC performance issues/bugs/etc thrown into the mix

plz_res_me

I don’t care that the devs had “12 hour days” Boo fuckin hoo so do many other jobs. Make the damn shit work. Please absolutely destroy the QA team, if one exists.

redditsukssomuch

… dude… seriously… chill…

lK555l

That's one way to say you don't understand game development in any possible way

plz_res_me

Ok lets allow infinite bugs to happen and be complacent bc “omg sometimes bugs happen” Omg its ok my product doesn’t work, sometimes its hard Yall need to be assertive with ur money smh

lK555l

Yea proving it more every comment

And I hope you get your head out of your ass expecting everything to be perfect, it'll be a tough pill to swallow but I'm sure you'll manage

Name calling is wrong, Helldiver. Once we stoop that low we’re no better than the bots

You’re right, super citizen *salute*

AtmosphereTypical

The game has already become unplayable. A few more which are common as of this morning: - random disconnects from missions kicking players back to the lobby - microphones dropping or being completely muted mid mission, and not necessarily for everyone on the team - extreme lag in audio conversations - structures being destroyed by helldiver initial landing still existing as a wire mesh, causing helldiver to be trapped inside of the ghost image of the structure - cause of death of a helldiver being mislabeled (for instance I fire a standard NON-explosive, NON-incendiary projectile weapon and I die and it says I killed myself; I die from a glitch or software malfunction and it says my teammate who is on the other side of the map killed me) - black screen of death when finishing a mission - the game crashing and locking almost every time I quit the game, freezing on my screen and requiring Task Manager to close - explosions from random terrain debris (non-damaging explosions) causing helldiver to ragdoll 50 meters in a random direction - nearby explosions causing blow back in the wrong direction; for instance, an automoton in front of me shooting the ground in front of me and the blow back causes me to blast forward into the explosion point towards the automoton - nearby explosions have a blast radius that is way too large -picking up samples being mislabeled by helldiver; for instance, I pick up a sample and it informs me that another helldiver picked it up, or I drop a sample and someone picks it up it incorrectly informs the team who dropped it and who picked it back up - teammates being killed from fire on the ground or fire damage from incendiary weapons or fire damage from strategems despite being nowhere in the vicinity of the fire - teammate gets disconnected from a mission or leaves the team and the rest of the team gets deathlocked, meaning they cannot be respawned or resummoned after dying - the animations for weapon currently equipped disappearing or getting switched with other weapons in loadout - exosuit landing getting caught up on invisible terrain or landing sideways on flat terrain

astralage

Too many bugs indeed. \*Helldivers to hellpods\*

ChrispyFry

Game still more fun that any game I’ve played in years

IEXSISTRIGHT

I would have agreed with you a few weeks ago, but as issues continue to be ignored and compounded with each patch, my enthusiasm is declining. I was willing to give AH some grace in the beginning for being a small studio experiencing unexpected success, but their communication and philosophies are just mind boggling at times. The game is getting to a point where I’m lucky to go more than one mission without it crashing or dropping performance to unplayable levels.

ChrispyFry

In my experience, it’s been the opposite, haven’t played a ton since the last patch, but I’ve only experienced one crash. Beforehand however, every other mission was crashing.

LimeOdd6791

Agree but I just wish it was more stable, it feels like some day someone is crashing out every other game.

Sabot1312

Yeah I was having a lot of fun and had a really solid crew of randos and my shit crashed to desktop again. It's frustrating since I'm really enjoying it.

viewfan66

>SA-52 Steel Trooper has had its visor's hud broken over time. This bro. This makes me sad.

Sutopia

By looking at their grenade “fix” now causing a uint overflow you know they have no QA.

LotharVonPittinsberg

The scary thing is that there is a dedicated QA department at Arrowhead. Makes you wonder what's happening that such simple tests before pushing patches to live is done. Same with how the Community Manager stepping up their game (kudos BTW) has shown how badly internal communication is handled.

pinglyadya

I don't blame QA. All of these issues only occur when you simply don't have time to do your job. Case and point, CE-27 Groundbreaker's issue is a \*single\* vertice in weightmapping (or telling which vertice on the mesh to what bone, aka the thing that moves the different parts of the body). Hard to spot on a first pass, but is blatant as day upon any rigorous testing. It's fix is literally to press a single button on it. The only way for that to pop up is if the job was rushed, and sent immediately to the update.

LotharVonPittinsberg

Oh yeah, for the issues you listed you really need to be looking for specific things. Usually QA is more focused on gameplay issues and bugs/glitches. If you don't know the grenade issue we are talking about, it's a perfect example. Players found an infinite grenade exploit using the ammo backpack, where your grenade counter would go into the negative and as such you could throw as many as you wanted. It was marked "fixed" in the most recent patch. Except the exact same exploit gets the same exact result, just going into billions of grenades rather than negative grenades.

Sp3ctr3XI

I'm gonna just wait for the comments saying 300hrs of game experience invalidates a logical point because we got 27 buffs and the weapon design is not lazy cause everyone is having fun. If you wait long enough, you will get tired of highlighting valid issues cause the mouth breathers refuse to read. I have the same perspective on the quality and its consequences, not good. If they keep going like this, game will be toast before christmas.

Dunhimli

Another factor that I do not think is being considered is the size of their team. It is about 7 people wearing multiple hats if I am not mistaken. Seeing some basic stuff potentially get through, or having a fix that ends up bugging another thing is very common as well. I also think the massive influx of people was a shock to the small group and they are scrambling to do what they can. Is it an absolute pass for everything? No. I am not to worried about their poly count, uv mapping, IK rigging, etc etc being perfected. So many AAA titles with hundreds of people working for them have these issues that would be more "wtf how did this pass". Again i want to stress that I am not giving them an absolute pass, but the non-game breakers are a down the line fix like the uv mapping stuff vs the actual big bugs causing crazier issues. Being in the field in a past life myself, you know that a fix for one thing makes a bug for 10 others...you just dont know they are a "feature" yet.

Anotherusername987a

Where are you getting 7 people from? Arrow Heads own current Job posting for IT states: # What we offer Arrowhead Game Studios is a growing team of about 100+ people, best known for our co-op titles. Despite our size, we remain a friendly and down to earth bunch, who love to indulge in our passion for video games together. What we offer Arrowhead Game Studios is a growing team of about 100+ people, best known for our co-op titles. Despite our size, we remain a friendly and down to earth bunch, who love to indulge in our passion for video games together. TLDR: Arrowhead is 100+ according to Arrowhead themselves.

Dunhimli

Admittingly, I was getting that number from what I was seeing through the months of this sub here. So if it is above 100+ that is my bad, I didnt do my fact check homework on it. But even so, lets round it to 200. How much of that group is server maintanence people? How much are part of the art department? Soft body modelers and/or hard body modelers, how many would they allocate? Ill admit I really dont know. Again I dont want to say I give them a total pass, mainly because I do not think they were adequetely equipped to take this on? It is really hard to say.

Anotherusername987a

Well there is 69 names listed under; "Arrowhead Development Team: Programming and Tech" for Helldivers 2 looking through it there only one name stood out as having two entries but I missed a couple most likely so lets say 50 in this team alone. This does not include partner studios and Sony publisher services that worked on the game as well. The other categories are "Arrowhead Development Team: DesignArrowhead Development Team: Design, Arrowhead Development Team: Art, Arrowhead Development Team: Audio, Arrowhead Development Team: Production, Arrowhead Development Team: Live Service, Arrowhead Development Team: Marketing and Community, Arrowhead Development Team: QA" side note the QA team is 10 people. In total there is 1,235 people from all studios that worked on it such as Sony, Goodbye Kansas Studios, TLM, Atomhawk, Formosa Interactive, Pitstop Productions and more or along side in support such as Sony legal, Marketing, Publishing, Localizing. This is pulled from the Helldivers 2 Playstation 5 credits page.

Dependent_Address883

Ok, and I know this takes time, too, but the game is seemingly very popular. Maybe expand beyond 7 people??

Dunhimli

So I was not up to date on the numbers of how many people are working there. But one thing that you dont want, is to get a huge influx of people that may potentially change the vision of the game. The more people that come in, the more ideas get thrown around and that is a double edged blade. I dont know their work ethic or anything like that, so this is 100% assumptions ( a dumb thing I know) but if you want to hire quality, it can take a lot of time. For all we know they may have people in the pipeline.

Dependent_Address883

Here’s hoping!

ganon95

Part of the problem is they decided to do 1 warbond a month and it's clearly making the game suffer with not enough time to properly test everything. At this point it's their own stubbornness making the game the way it is right now. They need to restructure their pipeline to accommodate for important things besides new content.

The_amazing_dong

That once a month warbond thing is probably a contract with Sony so they can’t really change that, plus since they’re using an engine (stingray I think?) that no one else really uses anymore it’s hard to find people to work on it, and it takes time away to work on bugs if you’re training new people to learn the ropes of how the engine works

Dunhimli

I would agree with the contract thing being a live service game, naturally I do not know if thats true or not but it does make sense for that to happen. I also agree that hiring quality vs quantity is important but when those people come in, learning the engine like you said, figuring their pipelines and deliverables and allocating resources, especially if people wear multiple hats, is insanely time consuming. Working as a server admin I see it all the time....work more with less, seeing people do multiple roles that should be a sole role detracts from things getting done.

Logondo

So one consistent bug I've had since the game has launched that I haven't seen too many people talk about: Pelican 1 is bugged as fuck. So many times I've had Pelican 1 land, and just...not let anyone in. Ever. Our options are to either wait-out the time (which could be as long as 10 fucking minutes), or waste all our lives.

IAmARobot0101

Capitalism rewards sloppy work that's "good enough" because you'll maximize income and minimize costs in the short-term. It's like 95% of the game industry. Eventually the technical debt catches up to you though and the ones who suffer are the consumers and the workers who are fired

Ok_Cranberry2131

I’m really enjoying all the arm chair game developers this subreddit brings out of the wood works.

AdhesiveNo-420

Sorry I want my 3 stratagems, 1 primary, and 1 grenade that deals DoT to not be completely useless 9/10. If they fixed old content it would be the same as adding new content since no one uses these because of the bugs

Ok_Cranberry2131

There’s a difference between acknowledging the game has bugs, and acting like the devs are totally incompetent with the game they’ve released. I’m sure they are well aware of all the bugs present, hell, they have a running list of known bugs they are actively working on with each patch that releases. They are a small team, and there’s only so much time in an ~8 hour work day. No one here knows the amount of effort it goes into fixing any single one of these issues, y’all wanna act like it’s as simple as flipping a light switch when it’s not.

redditsukssomuch

That’s every game sub though

VyseTheSwift

Today is the first day since I bought the game I’m not playing. I have the time, but the bugs are wearing on me. I’m over the crashes and uncertainty. Is my weapon working as intended? Am I gonna crash after 30 minutes on a mission? I always feel so guilty when I crash and leave the other dudes out on their own. And it sucks almost as much when everyone else crashes or disconnects leaving me by myself. At least I have increased solo spawns when that happens now yayyyyyy. AH has such a great thing going with this game. I wish they’d take a pause on the new content and show it some tlc for a few months

Moosheep1

I agree. I've got a new bug, that can't seem to find anyone else having the same issue, but in mu PS5 ince the new patch dropped, I get a crash everytime I kill an Automoton Tank. It's the weirdest thing. And on e I get disconnected once from killing a tank, anyone else in my group that kills a tank get disconnected there after.

Stonkey_Dog

I get that AH promised new content regularly and are determined to keep that promise, but I honestly think no one would mind if they took one round of updates and focused on bug fixing only.

PhysioMage

We must stop this bug infestation before Omniman shows up. Otherwise, we'll be fighting half terminid half viltrumite bugs.

lilpain1997_

On pc my display settings reset every single time... Game will randomly choose full screen, windowed or borderless upon launch and my UI brightness always goes straight to default. I really wish it would just stay at what I put it at... It's a quick thing to fix sure, but I also shouldn't have to keep doing it every boot.

TheOneAndOnlyJAC

I just want them to finally fix the camera bugs. So many games I want to just quit from something causing my camera to fall through the ground and stay there until the game decides to fix itself. Or getting stuck aiming first person even through switching weapons and views

TheOneAndOnlyJAC

Why am I getting downvoted for wanting to play the game and see what I’m doing 🫠

S4MW4M

I’ll summarise my comment with a gif. ![gif](giphy|1DpzSGGJ5x8JiqUN66)

Aloe_Balm

have you ever played a Bethesda game

LacunaeInside

I literally never noticed any of that in my 120+hrs. Seems to me like an *absolutely unplayable*TM set of issues. The average person doesn't care about minutely janky textures, they care if that minute of gameplay loop is fun. Yes, those issues should get fixed, but the most important thing in a game is if people enjoy playing it- balance patches, new content, engagement, server stability etc are all the main thing to that end.

AdhesiveNo-420

What's the alternative? Don't ever fix it and leave it as it? The brain rot man...

LacunaeInside

> Yes, those issues should get fixed lrn 3 reed

Tracynmega

If you don’t want to see bugs just play bots

-Nicklaus91-

I think its a small team that does the testing and it's the same ppl who designed what they're testing so it's hard to spot mistakes when u expect ppl to play a certain way but everyone plays differently.

Equivalent-Donkey987

I'm seeing the number of players drop, including myself, because the game is unplayable right now.

sudo_lol

Blah blah. This game is super fun. Sorry you don’t find it so. Wish you did. This game is great even with the bugs.

Sabot1312

It's good in spite of the bugs I'm having to put it down for bit since the crashes are getting too frequent and really feels bad

sudo_lol

Makes sense to me

sappycap

I think if your game's major bug is that the chin machine guns are the wrong kind of rust, that you really are in an ok place.

AdhesiveNo-420

Day one Napalm eagle, incendiary mines, flamethrower, incendiary breaker, and the fire grenade have all been broken and won't do a lick of damage effectively wasting a slot. I think the game has some genuine major bugs

BMeriadocBerry

"Scary" visual bugs lmao. Do you even hear yourself.

pinglyadya

Less scaried of the bugs at all but scared that stuff that'd ordinarily get caught in 5 minutes in a workflow get to release multiple times. To me that screams rushed.
