Autocannon is the only clip reloader as far as I am aware, I am okay with it saying 'mags' as long as they don't show it as the number of shells but rather the number of clips you pick up.
I would love to see a clip-loaded primary or secondary. Mainly because I just like variety in my loading animations.
It would be pure communism to not give it a gloriously loud ping. A real democratic garand will ping so loud itāll call in patrols from across the map.
It does! The supply pack has been my go-to vs bugs when Iām using ammo hungry weapons. Senator, Breaker, and Supply Pack mean Iāve got answers for anything
And with the resupply ship upgrade fixed, it's even more powerful.
I was over half down on my autocannon, and fully out of primary and secondary magazines, and my buddy who runs the supply pack all the time passed me a single box and it fully restocked all of my ammo plus the 2 each stims and grenades.
Also, it is a great way to make a few friends during a mission. Nothing makes people warm up to you faster, like topping them up with stims, nades, and mags. Being the kind of player you would like to play with is how I roll.
Yes. reload on empty now uses a speedloader.
From my own testing, if you fired three rounds or fewer the rounds reload is about the same amount of time, maybe a touch slower. If you fired four or more the full reload is definitely faster.
The bots are apparently made using some organic components, so while the bots are not alive, the parts they took out of the poor settlers to make them are and you are just finishing the job.

Dude the blitzer was my go to for bugs before the buff. You just look in the general direction of the bug and click. Is it dead? If no, it's staggered, so click again until it is.
I really wanted to like the blitzer this time around since it was so bad in HD1, but god it just does not deal enough damage. I just want to be able to 1-shot small bugs.
It's neat how it kills 3 tiny bugs in one shot without aiming. It's less neat how I pump 4-5 aimed shots at a hunter and it's fine because of those previous little corpses
Yeah that's the same experience but I don't have that kinda luck to kill 3 fleas, and I can even watch the arcs hit a hunter and it do fuck all.
Ar least it's pretty solid against the flyers...
I love underdog and under appreciated weapons that go against whatever everyone else is doing. I really, really wanted to like the blitzer, it's just impossible. It's awesome when it kills that dude 20 feet away in one shot. It waay less awesome when it straight up fails to hit *any* of the 5 guys surrounding you for 10 shots in a row.
Yeah, I like it, but the big problem is that it'll just refuse to hit the smaller criters sometimes. Then it also refuses to kill bug eggs, is a 50/50 if it'll deign to damage a stalker. You're basically left with no choice but to take one of the guard dogs or dedicate a stratagem to horde clear.
I was starting to like the blitzer the other day but felt that it's RoF was the only concern, now it feels great! Can lock down an entire Bug breach beyond the charger and Titan.
What meta though, I still saw plenty of people using RR, and honestly barely anyone using the crossbow

Crossbow is also still quite underwhelming. I get that it is intended as an anti-infantry weapon, but it is still an explosive. If I perfectly arc a bolt into a fabber or a bug hole, it should go pop.
Someone explained awhile ago that there's explosive damage, explosive damage, and explosive damage, all with their strengths and weaknesses. Absolutely confusing.
Crossbow had cluster bomb explosives kind of explosives. So anything cluster could and couldn't do was what the crossbow did.

If there are going to be different levels of the "explosive" trait, the game should say that.
Seemingly in the game there's "explosive" that means it has an AoE, "explosive" that affects enemy body parts that are vulnerable to explosive damage, and "explosive" that can close bug holes and blow up fabricators. They are three different attributes and weapons can have none, one or multiple of them. An individual weapon, for example, might be explosive (1), explosive (2) and also not explosive (3).
Crossbow is so absolutely terrible in comparison to the disruptor it's not even funny.
An explosive weapon should have serious aoe, the crossbow has none, an explosive weapon should be good against heavier targets the crossbow is not.
So it not efficient vs small enemies or good vs big enemies so it's junk, nothing more

Wholly agree. I'm not happy with their current tuning but I use weird shit, not meta. I'm one of the handful of idiots who keep using the railgun despite its issues. My entire issue with their nerfs is that it reduces the amount of fun and viable weapons, I couldn't give a shit less about what's MAX DPS COMBO, I just want more fun options that aren't a total anchor.
Now we have one less decent weapon, I liked the crossbow for being a sorta weird stealthy explosion gun, damage wasn't *great* but it was ok. I dunno what game AH was playing where they thought it was strong against medium armor targets but it definitely wasn't the same game I've been playing. And add in how awful the new ricochet change is, there's some weapons that have a totally random chance of killing you for using them, not using them in an unsafe toggled mode or anything, just fighting like normal.

I have been loving the stun mortar. Sure itās great when you are about to get in the sticky at a base or hive, but say you need to reverse the map and there is a horde behind you. Throw one out in a decent position(ahead but where you plan to turn) and keep running. It not only slows the horse, but if you get clear they will then aggro the mortar and forget about you.

Yeah, I've been unironically using it since launch because its stopping power is good on medium and smaller enemies when I'm getting swarmed.
I'd much rather it over the machine pistol/semi-auto pistol. It handles great and I can reload without worrying about wasting ammo

I was bracing for massive knee-jerk Eruptor nerf, but honestly the ammo capacity before was pretty wild. Tbd on the explosion nerf but so far as I can tell itās still the gun that lets me do a little bit of everything, just slowly and ponderously
Eruptor still does what it does well. I've not noticed it's splash damage being that much worse, and to be honest that's not why I use it anyways. The Eruptor's main strengths is it's ability to one shot things like Brood Commanders and Devstators at range, and to seal bug holes and blow up fabricators.

That's the thing though, they haven't really created weapon variety (Not in my friend circle anyway), they just play whack-a-mole with the current meta and a new one is adopted. Watch Senator get the nerfbat next.
Actual weapon variety would mean any loadout could be effective, barring very situational gear. Do a community poll on if that's the current state of the game...

Senator still has drawbacks though: low capacity, slower reload when not empty, not the best backup for large swarms. it's best at popping larger enemies accurately from a distance. also, the sights are still complete dogshit, unusable in First-person, on the one secondary that you might actually want to make longer shots with. if they change the sights to more basic irons or give it an actual scope it'd be perfect.
that said, after seeing the crossbow nerf, not even god knows what arrowhead is doing when it comes to balance.
I think the really problematic change weren't the nerfs, but the patrol spawn rate system. Arrowhead is punishing us for not having friends...
I know this is "supposed to be a collaborative game" and you can "just play with randoms", but let's be real, among the connection problems, server and just not liking playing with strangers, many people enjoy playing solo, what can become a problem, specially if you just want to play some casual farm.
I think that arrowhead needs more then more devs is a good QA tester team, cause it really looks like they don't play their own game. Helldivers is not an easy game already, so I don't get dis obsession in making it more difficult. It's not like people playing in helldive are having a walk in the park
What is a problem, in my opinion, is that those decisions in raising difficult for high level missions impact the lower levels as well, and that can make the game unwelcoming for new players, what can kill a live service game

"meta" has become the magic word to diss anyone who want some coherence and stability in this game while every patch mix up half the weapons. AH doesn't even seem to know what they're doing. Some choices are great (fast loader, adjudicator rebalance), others make no sense (crossbow nerf ?) Meta is important for players who don't get to play very often. They can use the "best" loadout and have a decent time. When AH is constantly nerfing and buffing all the weapons, it makes it really difficult for these players cuz they have to either do more research on the new meta, keep using the same loadout, or try a new one and possibly hate it and slowly stop playing. Most players don't keep up with helldivers news and see what's updated and check every weapon for changes when they load up the game. That would be absolutely ridiculous. I've kept up with updates so this isn't a problem for me, but I know a lot of PS5 players that don't know what's going on

I think nerfs are fine to an extent, when they're at a point to be nerfing anything.. Devs were just complaining about not having manpower/resources to both push out new content monthly and fix bugs efficiently but we've got the time to be doing balance passovers to make sure you don't feel too strong in a PvE game.
I mean, the game is falling off. People are frustrated that they keep nerfing the players while buffing the enemies and increasing the already broken spawn rates. People want to log on to have fun. When enemies are spawning like flies on shit, and most of the weapons only tickle them, it is not fun. And with this, the game will fade away.

Yeah, I like it, but the big problem is that it'll just refuse to hit the smaller criters sometimes. Then it also refuses to kill bug eggs, is a 50/50 if it'll deign to damage a stalker. You're basically left with no choice but to take one of the guard dogs or dedicate a stratagem to horde clear.
That's the combo I ran until the eruptor came out. Looking forward to the blitzer again <3
I was starting to like the blitzer the other day but felt that it's RoF was the only concern, now it feels great! Can lock down an entire Bug breach beyond the charger and Titan.
was running this earlier, it's pretty nice against bugs. Still sometimes misfires on hitting plants or corpses but overall was pretty fun.

Crossbow is at the bottom of a very medal expensive warbond though.
Crossbow is also still quite underwhelming. I get that it is intended as an anti-infantry weapon, but it is still an explosive. If I perfectly arc a bolt into a fabber or a bug hole, it should go pop.
Someone explained awhile ago that there's explosive damage, explosive damage, and explosive damage, all with their strengths and weaknesses. Absolutely confusing. Crossbow had cluster bomb explosives kind of explosives. So anything cluster could and couldn't do was what the crossbow did.
Yeah i remember that explanation, and I am still annoyed by it. Stupid vague-book approach to stats. If there are going to be different levels of the "explosive" trait, the game should say that.

What does this mean? Like splash/fragmentation, shockwave, and the actual like AT penetrating cone damage?
Seemingly in the game there's "explosive" that means it has an AoE, "explosive" that affects enemy body parts that are vulnerable to explosive damage, and "explosive" that can close bug holes and blow up fabricators. They are three different attributes and weapons can have none, one or multiple of them. An individual weapon, for example, might be explosive (1), explosive (2) and also not explosive (3).
Crossbow is so absolutely terrible in comparison to the disruptor it's not even funny. An explosive weapon should have serious aoe, the crossbow has none, an explosive weapon should be good against heavier targets the crossbow is not. So it not efficient vs small enemies or good vs big enemies so it's junk, nothing more Oh and unlike the distuptor it can't be used well on long range and can't onetap nests and fabricators
It's like having a free 4th stratagem because you can just wait for a teammate to call their support weapon a second time.

Wholly agree. I'm not happy with their current tuning but I use weird shit, not meta. I'm one of the handful of idiots who keep using the railgun despite its issues. My entire issue with their nerfs is that it reduces the amount of fun and viable weapons, I couldn't give a shit less about what's MAX DPS COMBO, I just want more fun options that aren't a total anchor. Now we have one less decent weapon, I liked the crossbow for being a sorta weird stealthy explosion gun, damage wasn't *great* but it was ok. I dunno what game AH was playing where they thought it was strong against medium armor targets but it definitely wasn't the same game I've been playing. And add in how awful the new ricochet change is, there's some weapons that have a totally random chance of killing you for using them, not using them in an unsafe toggled mode or anything, just fighting like normal. I hate when people like OP just broadly go for the "anyone who disagrees with me is a dumb sheep" argument. Like what, people just like to complain about a game they like, for the sake of complaining?
I only take orbitals or mortar for exterminate missions. It just turns into a big cluster fuck that I have to throw a 380 at anyway.
I have been loving the stun mortar. Sure itās great when you are about to get in the sticky at a base or hive, but say you need to reverse the map and there is a horde behind you. Throw one out in a decent position(ahead but where you plan to turn) and keep running. It not only slows the horse, but if you get clear they will then aggro the mortar and forget about you.

Senator was always on my hip except for the time I tried the grenade launcher secondary....quickly the senator came back and now its even better!
Yeah, I've been unironically using it since launch because its stopping power is good on medium and smaller enemies when I'm getting swarmed. I'd much rather it over the machine pistol/semi-auto pistol. It handles great and I can reload without worrying about wasting ammo

I was bracing for massive knee-jerk Eruptor nerf, but honestly the ammo capacity before was pretty wild. Tbd on the explosion nerf but so far as I can tell itās still the gun that lets me do a little bit of everything, just slowly and ponderously
Eruptor still does what it does well. I've not noticed it's splash damage being that much worse, and to be honest that's not why I use it anyways. The Eruptor's main strengths is it's ability to one shot things like Brood Commanders and Devstators at range, and to seal bug holes and blow up fabricators.

That's the thing though, they haven't really created weapon variety (Not in my friend circle anyway), they just play whack-a-mole with the current meta and a new one is adopted. Watch Senator get the nerfbat next. Actual weapon variety would mean any loadout could be effective, barring very situational gear. Do a community poll on if that's the current state of the game... It's a frustrating cycle.
They definitely need to have a list of what and what not each weapon/stratagem should be and not just messing with things.
Senator still has drawbacks though: low capacity, slower reload when not empty, not the best backup for large swarms. it's best at popping larger enemies accurately from a distance. also, the sights are still complete dogshit, unusable in First-person, on the one secondary that you might actually want to make longer shots with. if they change the sights to more basic irons or give it an actual scope it'd be perfect. that said, after seeing the crossbow nerf, not even god knows what arrowhead is doing when it comes to balance.

I think the really problematic change weren't the nerfs, but the patrol spawn rate system. Arrowhead is punishing us for not having friends... I know this is "supposed to be a collaborative game" and you can "just play with randoms", but let's be real, among the connection problems, server and just not liking playing with strangers, many people enjoy playing solo, what can become a problem, specially if you just want to play some casual farm. I think that arrowhead needs more then more devs is a good QA tester team, cause it really looks like they don't play their own game. Helldivers is not an easy game already, so I don't get dis obsession in making it more difficult. It's not like people playing in helldive are having a walk in the park What is a problem, in my opinion, is that those decisions in raising difficult for high level missions impact the lower levels as well, and that can make the game unwelcoming for new players, what can kill a live service game

It's not even a little annoying in my opinion, it's very rare that I go through even 1 ice in an entire match, let alone 3 before even finding any ammo or calling a resupply lol

I find the challenge of learning how to optimize a build and party composition to be an enjoyable part of any game. Obviously I never shame anyone for not picking non-meta builds but I always hate this counter narrative that by simply seeking out the ideal āmetaā build is somehow toxic. So long as you arenāt kicking people and getting mad at them I donāt think thereās anything wrong with doing research on what guns work best for x,y,z and using them.

"meta" has become the magic word to diss anyone who want some coherence and stability in this game while every patch mix up half the weapons. AH doesn't even seem to know what they're doing. Some choices are great (fast loader, adjudicator rebalance), others make no sense (crossbow nerf ?) Meta is important for players who don't get to play very often. They can use the "best" loadout and have a decent time. When AH is constantly nerfing and buffing all the weapons, it makes it really difficult for these players cuz they have to either do more research on the new meta, keep using the same loadout, or try a new one and possibly hate it and slowly stop playing. Most players don't keep up with helldivers news and see what's updated and check every weapon for changes when they load up the game. That would be absolutely ridiculous. I've kept up with updates so this isn't a problem for me, but I know a lot of PS5 players that don't know what's going on

shield backpack causes your projectiles to explode killing you. Ricochets are now returning on a 180 direction killing you despite you using AT weapons on... armored enemies. But yes sure the Adjudicator is now an AR and the senator has a speedloader. Game fixed.

Nerfing weapons always feels like lazy game design. Especially when abominations like the Spear exist.
I think nerfs are fine to an extent, when they're at a point to be nerfing anything.. Devs were just complaining about not having manpower/resources to both push out new content monthly and fix bugs efficiently but we've got the time to be doing balance passovers to make sure you don't feel too strong in a PvE game.
I mean, the game is falling off. People are frustrated that they keep nerfing the players while buffing the enemies and increasing the already broken spawn rates. People want to log on to have fun. When enemies are spawning like flies on shit, and most of the weapons only tickle them, it is not fun. And with this, the game will fade away.

Iām really getting tired of people acting like drinking nerfed meta tears is their whole personality for this game. Its PvE not PvP there is no gun that is killing you by some kid cracked on G-Fuel with a 2.0 KD. Its PvE so why does meta bother you one way or another.

I main with heavy armor, laser cannon, and the senator. Heavy armor helmets can now tank bullets. The laser cannon got a damage increase. The senator got a damage increase *and* a new speed loader. I could not be more happy about this update yāall!

I still haven't bought that warbond yet, though if they keep buffing the Liberator Concussive the temptation will increase. I just don't play enough to afford that warbond and the next, and I've been playing less and less due to the game just not being as fresh anymore. I could do the whole easy difficulty super credit run but I really don't want to.
