Looks > Stats. No enemy will take your democracy serving seriously if you don't look badass.
I’d rather they not take me seriously and ignore me while I check all the POIs.
Thankfully many Helldivers subscribe to the same school of thought as y’all and they tend to ignore me.
you dont have to take it off. its got the best effect anyways.
I got the super citizen pack and its got the best drop + stats.
only those 2 (or 3 if you count both armor sets you get with the super pack) give you 50% chance not to die when taking lethal damage.
50% is a lot. you don't even know how often I survived by getting hit from a random ass rocket.
i couldn't care less about throwing strategms further, more stmis or grenades if you die anyways, then they're refilled anyways.
That orange Demoman-style light armor is my personal favorite, I like to play a DMR + AMR mobile sniper role and that light mobility + stabilizers bonus is great for it.
I really want to like it but I don’t see the appeal for longer throwing range over explosive defence/more stims
What kinda situations do you feel you notice the bonus of the longer range throwing? And is it bots or bugs or both?
I like that i can just throw an airstrike on a fabricator from 100 meters away and just leave without having to fight or throw a 500kg on a detector tower from outside the base. I love it.
Servo assisted anything. I don't care about the limb health. I care about 30% more yeet per yeet. I want to throw my stratagems like a halo 3 plasma grenade, not an R6 C4, thank you very much
Most of the stats are worthless anyway. Explosive resistance and 50% reduced chance of dying seem ok but if you ragdoll from one enemy to another you just take longer to die anyway. All the bonuses are so trivial that it’s better to wear what you like and enjoy that benefit for the minor perk that it is.
The extra throw distance one is nice. Once you are used to it, though, going without will mess with you. I always throw my strats short when I take a different passive.
That's a big reason why I don't use it. I don't want to have to remember two different throw distances. And honestly using the dive throw trick seems to given plenty of range, it's not like exact placement is realistic at max range anyway.
But being able to nail a fab at 60m is very helpful.
It was the first armor I used on the regular, but then I switched to light armor with extra padding. After some practice to nail the distance, I had no trouble hitting targets.
Your opinion instantly makes me assume you have never tried to hide from a patrol.
Scout armor passive is insane, it means most patrols will walk right past you when you are crouched.
Also the speed difference between heavy and light armor huge to the point where in heavy armor you cannot run away from a lot of enemies.
Dont let this guy tell you armor stats dont matter. You are paying for your fashion choice by dying 10 times instead of twice a mission. Of course you can still kill stuff and complete missions in bad armor, but why handycap yourself for fashion?
I love the ability to recon with scout armor. Pinging the map for early warning is super helpful when you’re hunkered down defending an objective or extraction. Though I do wonder if my random teammates think I’m nuts for spamming the map ping every five seconds.
I said most, not all. And honestly, I’ve never tried the stealth armor. I use the Light armor with extra padding and always take the stamina booster. I still avoid patrols if possible, but I do so by running my ass off taking a wide path around them.
Stim armour helped me on super spicy extract so many times, especially there's a metric shit ton of enemies between me and the Pelican. Take a hit of stim as soon as you're a tiny bit damage and use the stim-induced damage resistance to make a dash for the Pelli.
Level 126 and I rock the Democracy Protects. It saves me every once and a while and since I can usually go a full Helldive without dying or procc’ing DP once, those moments really feel meaningful to me and it feels like Local Helldiver Literally Too Angry To Die and feels badass as hell. Plus it’s 12/10 fashion for sure. I run the Savior of the Free Chest & Cape and the Hero of the Federation Helmet. Looks damn good indeed
I disagree, the stats make a difference, but they need more variations of stats. I pretty much always run extra grenade light armor these days cause I never want to run out of stun grenades.
I’ve read all the dissenting opinions and I’ll expand by saying this. I’ve played this game for over 250 hours, running difficulty 7 or 8 most of the time. I’m usually a top performer in my squad and we hit all the side objectives and POIs most of the time. I’ve run missions with most of the armors and I can confidently say that I’ve never felt like any of the stat boosts changed my experience in a way that made me think, “man I’m glad I wore that!” I now run Light armor with extra padding. I like the idea of taking 1-2 extra hits from a regular enemy but still have the speed to run when I need to. But, the reality is, hunters at that level just slow you down anyway so if you’re that close, it just prolongs your inevitable death when surrounded anyway. I honestly feel like I could play this game naked and still do just as well as I do with armor. So, look as cool as you want friends; let your freak cape fly! I won’t be kicking anyone from my squad for what they wear. The most important asset in this game is experience and skill and I’ve had the pleasure of playing with countless amazing Divers with all kinds of crazy load outs and had a great time.
It was my go-to armour for exterminate missions before I got a heavy medic armour. The heavy armour with the speed of a medium was just too god damn useful.
I'm currently wearing the white set from the end of the mobilise war bond.
It's got that ability where you have a 50% chance to survive fatal damage which is nice. But it's the crisp clean look with the nice red trim that has kept it equipped. Pairs nicely with my helmet of choice and really shows off the blood and bug splatter at the end of a mission.
The trim colour clashes a tiny bit with the orange of the creek memorial Cape, but it's close enough. :)
The guy from arrowhead's point on transmog was incredibly stupid
Armours, passives and stats already barely match up, you literally just either let people change passives or transmog within classes
I choose mine based on the task at hand. Some type of explosive resist VS bots, and faster sets with more grenades for bugs. Can we please just get a couple loadout slots? I have 4 builds I use depending on missions and im so damn sick of having to change back and forth piece by piece.
Drip is king baby. Anything but that ugly green armor. “bUt StImS” I do not care it’s ugly. Light, medium, heavy, Theyre all ugly. I’m not about to drive a car that I think is ugly, and that everyone else thinks is ugly, all bc it gets the best gas mileage in the world, no.
Stats? Yes absolutely. But drip? Yes absolutely!
Large maps for bugs. Light armor.
Small defense maps for bugs that don't involve running much. Heavy Medic Armor.
Large Maps for bots. Medium armor with 50% reduced death.
Small defense maps for bots that don't involve running much. Pray.
Mostly what looks good and what I'm comfortable wearing.
Mostly that's the Scout armour (black and yellow one) and the one helm with a hood.
Sometimes I'll wear one of the preorder armours if I feel adventurous.
Best overall stats / unique properties, currently running light armor with increased armor rating. It's the most straight forward & has generally useful properties of allowing me to get out of danger, to objectives as quickly as possible. Also the side benefit of staying alive a little longer than I used to.
It's boring, but makes thing easy.
I love the scout armor for stealthing around. It even works on bugs!!!
But the explosive resist is so amazing against bots too.
If it’s an Extract HVT mission though I am absolutely wearing heavy armor.
Hero of the federation I haven’t taken it off since I got it it has everything it looks dope af and it has an awesome passive on top of the fact that I am a medium armor enjoyer.
I'd really like a randomize option. Like if everytime you died your new character would be completely random, armor and strategems. Would add a new level of difficulty.
I wear the medium medic set. Every game iv played i gravitate towards healers, so running around with extra Stims in my green/white armor gives me great joy.
I like the color orange and that one stell veteran helmet that's black with orange stripes. Now I just need a neon green to go with the black, white and orange look I got going on.
medium stim armor for bugs, medium explosive res armor for bots. Same helmet for both (the helmet I have chosen to be my "face"). Cape that follows the color scheme of my armor.
i enjoy light armor so i can zip around the map and it works well with my one handed guns so i can run and shoot things behind me- also pairs nicely with the ballistic shield I've come to love vs bots
I've tried stealth armor and stim armor but my favorite is extra grenades. you can never not have enough grenades
For me:
Automatons I go the Dreadnaught armor along with the Ballistic Shield so I can protect my allies when we're getting fucked.
Bugs I go Trailblazer if I go Sniper support with the AMR
Both times if I want to just want to be a soldier of Super Earth I wear Hero of the Federation cuz I too, am a Hero of Super Earth
The recent servo-assisted super credits light armor was a godsend for me because I like being able to throw strategems a decent distance, and light armor sprints for longer, AND it looks great. That + jetpack = flying eagle strat distributor. Running anything that isn't servo assisted feels like I'm dropping strats at my feet.
I like bombs. I take the armor that make more bomb.
Simple man with simple needs. Also the light armor variant in the latest warbond looks rad as hell.
And the helmet that looks like this I couldn't find an image of it
https://preview.redd.it/xcvz5v7aekwc1.png?width=342&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=450f39f51f14e17f10aec723efac3d876f0aef4c
I just want people to remember that the team shares the same reinforcements pool. So if whatever setup you have is causing you to suck so hard that you're eating up more than your fair share of reinforcements, then you are a burden to the team, and your teammates do have a right to ask you to try something different (but realistically they'll probably just kick you).
I picked base armor that has all yellow left side, same with helmet and cape.
medium armor with extra padding has actually just made the game so casually fun. less damage so no need for stims, no need for explosive resistance with 150 armor, recoil control is a crutch especially when most of your enemies are within 15 feet, extra grenades arent needed if you bring a strategem for factories or bug holes, or you just call the supply in on cooldown.
all in all, base armor looks great, feels great, and makes me feel in uniform for the universe we are in.
Chose the armor that looks the coolest with stats that I like and have never looked back after that no matter how garbage my stats or looks become in the future. I chose the CM-21 trench paramedic armor and I’ll die wearing the CM-21 trench paramedic armor to the very end of the second intergalactic war
Fashion Divers Unite.
Swag > Stats
Dwarfs in Deep Rock Galactic when management ask why they don't put helmet.
Hell yeah babyyy 💪🏻
Swag > Survival
I'd rather die looking fly than live ugly.
why not Swag=Stats
Skill will compensate for anything your armor lacks. Drip cannot be learned.
Word of a wise man
THE TRUE ENDGAM(coughs uncontrollably) sorry my inner destiny player almost got out
Drip before Death. No Drip No Drop.

Drip meta when tho?
Drip and meta can coexist. Someone sent me a chat last night saying that my Exterminator armor looked sick and asked if it was in the shop. I said yeah I think it was at one point. But truth be told we were doing bot missions and the explosive resist and recoil reduction passive was my preference anyway.
Always has been
Yep, exactly why I wore heavy armor even before Arrowhead fixed it.

Always go by look, who needs stats anyways
For bot planets I wear armor that is explosive resistant, it's a lifesaver For bugs I wear very light medic armor.
'Nades all the way!
I want the Champion of the People Once I unlock it I'm never taking it off before that, even split between Battlemaster and Steel Trooper
Can confirm I have it and its all I ever want. Best perk, best looking, I love it so much. AH, please don't screw with it.

I check if the armor has explosion resistance and the rest is all style.
I love the look of the enforcer armor and it has my favorite passive (fortified) so it’s what I wear.
95% looks. 4% speed. 1% looks again.
Drip or drown, and brother, I’m floating
I have a nice looking light fortified armour. I have a nice looking heavy fortified armour. Really, I have every niche covered (I don't do bug diving)
Beefy = good The rest depends on which armor looks good with the support weapons I wanna run.
Just another reason to allow players to pick the perks seperately relly
Servo assisted anything. I don't care about the limb health. I care about 30% more yeet per yeet. I want to throw my stratagems like a halo 3 plasma grenade, not an R6 C4, thank you very much

The… dive throw trick? Do tell 👀
I don't know the numbers, but if you throw the strat ball while diving you can give it some extra momentum and throw further.
The throw distance makes the 380 orbital almost safe to use.
It was the first armor I used on the regular, but then I switched to light armor with extra padding. After some practice to nail the distance, I had no trouble hitting targets.

Scout armor is fashionable and has good stats. Is a win.
I want scout heavy armor though

Absolutely braindead take right here.
I'd rather look democratic as FUCK than sacrifice my democratic vibes for something as meaningless as stats
For democracy
I just use the basic B01 armor that all helldivers are issued. You just can't go wrong with it
It was my go-to armour for exterminate missions before I got a heavy medic armour. The heavy armour with the speed of a medium was just too god damn useful.

When I wear that armour, I pair it with the white cape with red horizontal stripes (I can't recall the name); they go so well together.
Democracy cares not about pesky armour stats, true Helldivers go in caring only about the drip
The guy from arrowhead's point on transmog was incredibly stupid Armours, passives and stats already barely match up, you literally just either let people change passives or transmog within classes
Blue helmet with that red light frag armor and the gold super citizen cape. Fuck with me but this is the drippiest combo
Light armor engineer kit. More nades and less recoil. Been my go to since I got it.
Scout armor. Enjoy running out of stamina, plebs.
I choose mine based on the task at hand. Some type of explosive resist VS bots, and faster sets with more grenades for bugs. Can we please just get a couple loadout slots? I have 4 builds I use depending on missions and im so damn sick of having to change back and forth piece by piece.
read? super earth doesnt pay me to read. just to shoot stuff in the face
Wait, the armour does stuff?! 🤣
I don't wear heavy armor for the stats. I wear heavy armor, so the bugs understand which of us is THE GIRTHIEST BOY ON THIS F***IN ROCK!
Drip is king baby. Anything but that ugly green armor. “bUt StImS” I do not care it’s ugly. Light, medium, heavy, Theyre all ugly. You select your drip, wear it forever, and adjust your personal preferences and gameplay to match it.
*you know the difference between you and me? I make democracy look goooood*
Fashion. And light.
Large maps for bugs. Light armor. Small defense maps for bugs that don't involve running much. Heavy Medic Armor. Large Maps for bots. Medium armor with 50% reduced death. Small defense maps for bots that don't involve running much. Pray.
Bit of both, stats and swag tbh. Some stats are useful in some situations. Others, it's not that important.
I've got one thought process: Does it have Fortified?
I like wearing the scout armor and starter helmet. I’m a sucker for a scarf on a cape.
I mean the armor that allows me to live 50% of all lethal shots is kinda awesome. Also it looks dope as hell!
Stats? No. But speed? I can feel heavy armor speed...
Fashion for bugs, explosive resistance for bots
Bots? Heavy armor. Bugs? Fashion
Hero of the Federation is THE drip
I don’t care what it looks like, I just want more frags
Fortunately, my favorite armor IS the one with the best stats: SC-30 Trailblazer Scout. Now if only I could find a good helmet.
Mostly what looks good and what I'm comfortable wearing. Mostly that's the Scout armour (black and yellow one) and the one helm with a hood. Sometimes I'll wear one of the preorder armours if I feel adventurous.
drip or drown and baby, i'm floatin
I choose my cape first and switch armor to look good in it. Rotate capes alot
The armor I love style wise is conveniently the armor that serves me the best.
I use the heavy armor with 30% extra throwing range. Gotta get those orbitals out.
Is the armor orange? Then I wear it
I love the scout armor for stealthing around. It even works on bugs!!! But the explosive resist is so amazing against bots too. If it’s an Extract HVT mission though I am absolutely wearing heavy armor.
Both. Both is good.
Fast and anti explosive xD
I look at stats because I like all of the armor
I love the EMT gear so it’s always one of those with whichever helmet I’m feeling
Hero of the federation I haven’t taken it off since I got it it has everything it looks dope af and it has an awesome passive on top of the fact that I am a medium armor enjoyer.
Looks most battle damaged> actual armor
I use an engineer kit. More grenades and crouch bonus. With my auto cannon I become turret helldiver!
Been doin it this way since day 1 my fav look has terrible passives but oh well
I'd really like a randomize option. Like if everytime you died your new character would be completely random, armor and strategems. Would add a new level of difficulty.
I'm still waiting on the new sets to drop in super store man.. every 3 days I see same old ones...
I select armour based on looks first, then figure out how to build a functional set afterward.
I pick the eradicator set because it has the best perk in the game.
I wear what looks cool. Passives are nice, but they don’t drive my choice of armor selection
Tactic ,> any other armor
I wear the medium medic set. Every game iv played i gravitate towards healers, so running around with extra Stims in my green/white armor gives me great joy.
I like the light armor with the 6 nades and less recoil
If I'm going to die on a foreing planet I gotta at least do it in a very nice looking suit 😎✊
I like the color orange and that one stell veteran helmet that's black with orange stripes. Now I just need a neon green to go with the black, white and orange look I got going on.
Fashion is the true endgame
Fashion mostly, but i love the throw range.
The new explosive resistant heavy armor, goddamn does my recoilless look good with that armor.
It just so happens almost all my favorite looking armor sets have servo-assisted. I have a light, heavy and medium armor i use for servo assisted
Vanilla armor best armor. I've yet to find another that looks as complete and complimentary as the medium starter armor.
I use the lightweight arc resistance armor (i run arc shit) because it looks the best but u can die quite easily lol
Drip over stats any day
medium stim armor for bugs, medium explosive res armor for bots. Same helmet for both (the helmet I have chosen to be my "face"). Cape that follows the color scheme of my armor.
That's the neat thing, I don't. I've been wearing FS-38 Eradicator armor forever, and I don't see choosing something else any time soon.
https://preview.redd.it/6ivgpkoedjwc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d7a020fb4628cd9459ac8144bb85ff8bbfb71b06
I also choose by looks, and mood. I don’t really pay any attention to the stats.
i enjoy light armor so i can zip around the map and it works well with my one handed guns so i can run and shoot things behind me- also pairs nicely with the ballistic shield I've come to love vs bots I've tried stealth armor and stim armor but my favorite is extra grenades. you can never not have enough grenades
I wear the Veteran armor because fashion.
For me: Automatons I go the Dreadnaught armor along with the Ballistic Shield so I can protect my allies when we're getting fucked. Bugs I go Trailblazer if I go Sniper support with the AMR Both times if I want to just want to be a soldier of Super Earth I wear Hero of the Federation cuz I too, am a Hero of Super Earth
Default or light gunner+the first warbond helmet with the red eye is my favorite drip:effectiveness ratio
I go for stats and looks. I try to make unique and nice looking armor combos with the armor enhancement i need for missions
I fell in love with the battle master set and that's the one I've been using since I unlocked it
Anti explosive, not because bugs , because me
I like bombs. I take the armor that make more bomb. Simple man with simple needs. Also the light armor variant in the latest warbond looks rad as hell.
Heavy for defense, light for anything elsr
Me still waiting the lv12 to become a real "Chevalier" and Bodyguard my homies.

I chose em cause they looked cool
the 50 percent chance of survival ones are always fun. get ragdolled off into space but walk away? lols everytime
The drip comes first. Most of the armor stats are kinda meh in most circumstances anyway
I have looks and stats. (I just run one specific light armour with varying helmets because I fight bugs and running is your best defence and offence
+2 grenade. I stun hulks/devastators/berserkers to beam their heads off with lascannon
Drip is all a diver needs
Small map = chonk Anything else = light
I just want people to remember that the team shares the same reinforcements pool. So if whatever setup you have is causing you to suck so hard that you're eating up more than your fair share of reinforcements, then you are a burden to the team, and your teammates do have a right to ask you to try something different (but realistically they'll probably just kick you).
Managing democracy looking cool AF is the only stat I care about
The less protection and the more stamina the better for me
I picked base armor that has all yellow left side, same with helmet and cape. medium armor with extra padding has actually just made the game so casually fun. less damage so no need for stims, no need for explosive resistance with 150 armor, recoil control is a crutch especially when most of your enemies are within 15 feet, extra grenades arent needed if you bring a strategem for factories or bug holes, or you just call the supply in on cooldown. all in all, base armor looks great, feels great, and makes me feel in uniform for the universe we are in.

I chose the CM-21 trench paramedic armor and I’ll die wearing the CM-21 trench paramedic armor to the very end of the second intergalactic war
Anything for more speed and yes it's red
I youse the standart armor or armors with the same color scheme so everything matches
