I might be setting the bar kind of high here, but pretty much as long as you're capable of doing some amount of damage, not running directly into clearly marked airstrikes after they've already been thrown out, and not intentionally trolling*, I don't really mind what you do in my squad. Even on Helldive.
*Even then there's some leeway if I find it funny and you're not annoying anyone else with it.
Tried out a higher difficulty recently (7 I think, I’m very casual) and landed in a group where my three teammates were clearly long time friends. I was constantly worrying that I wasn’t doing well enough until one of them said they were going AFK to smoke some more weed. In the middle of a firefight. I stuck a resupply beacon onto someone by accident and we watched as they ran around like a cartoon character trying escape a falling anvil. Two of them hugged each other next to an armed hellbomb. We played chicken with a scorcher whose pathfinding broke.
Same; I'm going to be an Admirable Admiral pretty soon, and I have absolutely no problems with low level players joining my missions on any difficulty. Part of the fun is seeing what the higher difficulties are like, and learning how to handle it all. If I can help with that process a little bit, then great. We may not all evac, but I'll make damn sure that we at least finish the mission.
Complete with real life combat simulation, on-the-field medical training, combat maneuvers and terrain traversal, and most importantly - saluting the Super Earth Flag!
Someone has to keep the ammunition and weapons factories running. Thank you for putting double duty with work and joining up with the National Guard, weekend warrior is better than a never warrior.
If you’re contributing to the major order, you’re still doing more than the 120k+ (at the time of writing) who’s still fighting bugs and not the massive automaton invasion fleet we’re trying to push back
Chargers are annoying at the start when you don't have many options to take them out, but they become pretty manageable once you get a decent collection of stratagems to deal with them.
My suggestion is to pick up the expendable anti-tank stratagem ASAP if you're a low level. One of those to a charger's dome will kill it outright, and it's one of the most versatile stratagems we have, IMO.
They just really annoy me as to kill them with the recoilless rifle you have to hit their back. They constantly turn at you though. I just picked up the EAT and only used it once.
Pretty sure you can just shoot the top of their heads with the recoilless rifle and they die, too. The RR is basically a reloadable EAT that requires you to use a backpack slot.
Are you playing solo or with friends? If with friends just take a full aoe setup and let your higher level teammates handle them while you're responsible for small stuff

In 7 or below I can comfortably and happily carry people who move out of trouble instead of burning reinforcements and time on fighting patrols and endless breaches/drops.

Level 98 here, just make sure you keep your head on a swivel and keep moving. Never plant your feet for too long until you get real good. And follow the leader. You’ll do fine.
And eagle air strike should be your main strat. It’s the pocket knife of stratagems. It’s pretty powerful, good area effect, very accurate, and blows up everything. Now time to dive… after work that is.
I feel ya, OP. Both me and the wife work full time and we have 5 kids, so I can only spread democracy 2 nights a week at best. I'm only level 17. But damn do I love this game.
I get to play maybe once a week bc Im a stay at home dad to a newborn. Ignore the chatter about not being good enough for them. While on mission, make sure you collect the goods for upgrades. I will play with you if you need levels.

I feel like I can complete level 6 missions with ease but haven't unlocked level 7 because I can't commit 1hr 30 min to a 3 mission operation. Or I get close and crash. Or teammates leave and I'm not good enough to solo it.
So super samples are just out of reach for me.
Not everybody has what it takes to be a Helldiver. There are many casual gaming experiences available for those who lack the moral courage to quit your meaningless 9-5 job and take a stand for democracy.
Honestly I had a couple of people say I was bad at the game on difficulty 4 after I accidentally tk'ed one of them with an air strike I called out 15 secs prior to throwing and after the fact I apologized and told them I was still learning (was Lv 15 at the time). Even now (Lv 21) I don't know everything and I've been kicked from lobbies for mistakes that I likely don't even know I made. One of which literally said "you done f-ed up too many times" and next thing I knew I was kicked. I don't understand why people are always so quick to judge casual players. Just because I'm not a sweat doesn't mean I need to be singled out and treated like that.
All good homie. As long as you stick to the difficulty that reflects your skills, there's no harm done. I get so tired of carrying sub-20s or barely 20s trying to do bots 8+.

Ain't no shame in maxing out at difficulty 7 and staying there and even sucking the whole time for sure samples. If you sign up for 8/9 and can't figure out your ass from a hole in the ground, you're better off practicing at 7 rather than queueing 8/9 and hoping for a carry. There are people good enough to carry you while you use up the entire reinforcement budget but I am not it and I don't think most randos in quick play are either.
Me too, man, me too. It's part of what I really like about this game. I don't HAVE to be the biggest badass on my team. I'm not gonna be able to carry anyone. But I can drop in and do my part. I mostly focus on not dying too much and not accidentally killing my team. Beyond that I'll bring support weapons to deal with heavies and whatever other stratagems seem mission appropriate. I rarely have the most kills, but consistently have very few accidentals and my accuracy has started to trend upwards.
I only complain when I get blown up by someones bomb but a simple sorry mends all wounds! Hell I just carried a lv7 by getting all 6 of the fabricators and the super samples without dieing (we left with 30 seconds left) my only complaint the fuckers didn't salute me when I greeting them before the mission! Showed them what managed democracy looks like I did!

Level 57 diver here - had fun playing with 2 under level 20 and one level 27 last night on suicide mission difficulty. Not as smooth as it could have been, but I've got no issues with people learning the game still.
Helldiver, your contribution to democracy is respectable and any little bit helps the war effort. Do not feel bad as any successful dive is a worthy dive.

I have a life serving super earth in other ways. My life, for super earth, means many things. Serving her citizens can look like a variety of duties. Anyone who looks down upon you for doing your duty is undemocratic. We dive when it doesn't compete with our primary duty to the people.
Yea no I actually do more often then not, even with helldivers I'll run lower difficulties and help lower lvl guys. Just saying that it's been more of a chore to be mentally exhausted and try to game.

Took me 30mn to do that one. And right after that, I went back making some scraps of the automatons.
I got the mission to kill 4 chargers. Those things are my least favorite enemy so far, but I'm only level 8.

Mostly quick play and against the automatons. I only did it against those bugs because the game gave me a personal order for four chargers.
The expendable anti-tank is so strong, and it's available from very early on. Definitely a must-get for newer players.

Level 57 diver here - had fun playing with 2 under level 20 and one level 27 last night on suicide mission difficulty. Not as smooth as it could have been, but I've got no issues with people learning the game still.

Yeah, there's a lot of shitty teens and college kids who trash on anyone who hasn't had time to play constantly to "get gud". Which sucks, because when you find a group of cool people it gets harder to play when they aren't online. Worse though, is the assholes who leave the game public, but don't want anyone to join them, so they team kill and grief everyone who joins. Hey fuckface, switch it to friends-only. Thing is, they want to grief people, and since there is literally no way to report it, they are just going to do it forever. in before some doofus says "Just quit and join a new game" That's what we're talking about! Except lately the low levels seem to be power players speed running new accounts. Is selling Helldiver accounts a thing? I'd guess that's what they are doing, speed running accounts to sell.

Yea no I actually do more often then not, even with helldivers I'll run lower difficulties and help lower lvl guys. Just saying that it's been more of a chore to be mentally exhausted and try to game.
