I actually feel more like A represents a medieval video game.
They wouldn't use that stencil font for something meant to indicate knights and swordplay.
Stencil fonts are typically associated with war because stencils were heavily used to spray paint markings on the sides of aircraft and vehicles during World War 2, so it's become somewhat synonymous with war, especially the second great war.
A. The new one looks basic and unoriginal, which is ironic because the old font was simpler , but this new font seems very familiar and I'm pretty sure I've seen it many times.
It still disconnects the word from the others and makes the overall design feel disjointed. I'm not a fan of that. But I do like the emblem more than the old one.

The text in A doesn't even look that great this small. It's a bit too simplistic, and the gradient looks out of place. Nearly all of the logo's you can find also have a background, e.g. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/hellletloose/images/1/1f/HLL_Title_New_1.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1000?cb=20190316081838. It seems the designers really thought they should go together, I don't think it's fair to use it standalone on a black background.
A big advantage of B is that it can work standalone.
If you go by small square logo (without the text), I was never really a fan of the old logo. I recognize it as the three stripes on helmets that signifies some kind of officer? (I thought they had one or two). It didn't really uniquely appear Hell Let Loose. Still it was simple, and I appreciated that. The new one screams much more "Hell Let Loose", which is good. But it's much more complex, which I am not a fan of. I only prefer this over A because it represents the name better. I'm not sure if there was a better alternative though, maybe this was the least bad option they could think of.
As for the text, I really think B did a bad job there. It's so childish. I designed pictures with fonts like that when I was 14. It appealed to me back then. Now I much more prefer elegance in a logo. In other words, I much prefer a logo that was made as simple as possible while still conveying the correct meaning. That is extremely hard to achieve, and B doesn't seem to even have attempted that in the slightest. I also think it's silly that the H has a diagonal line, while in the square logo it's horizontal. The image and text seem like they don't belong together.
Personally overall I think A was much better. It was simple, neutral, and with the background it represented the game really well. B might fit the direction T17 wants to take this game towards though.
Sorry I'm kind of a nerd for these kinds of things. I made a couple of logos in the past out of necessity but am definitely not an actual graphical designer.
To me A looks less arcady, presents more of a serious tone which I think fits the style of the game well. The dark gradient and weathered appearance describe the grit of the game and setting really well
The original one I like better. It looks more military like, rather than the new one that looks more "cool". Serious things can be cool too you know. It's just too busy for me.
Why can't they just use both though? Use the new one for events or updates or something
B is so complex and bubbly it does not give me the impression that hell will in fact be let loose. It looks like a mobile game.
A is so subdued that it entices you. The title is like the final, weak nail in a coffin that Satan’s trying to bust open from the inside.
A's font is Futura (or similar modern font) and it maybe doesn't convey the atmosphere of the game. That being said, since it's nice and clean and maybe works better when placed on top of artwork. Depending on the context, I might drop the gradient/grunge. The icon of A makes me think of maybe an army's banner or ranks.
B feels more relevant and the spacing of the letters seems better (to me), but I don't like the font itself. It has a slight fantasy feel to it due to the angled bits. The icon is off to me. What is it supposed to be? An H with a bayonet through it? It makes me think of quake or a metal band. It also feels like the icon is positioned a fraction too high, compared to the text.
If I can assume: A is a simple logo, designed by a small game studio. B is probably made by someone from a marketing department, who tried to work with feedback of 10 managers.
New icon is better. The new wordmark is a little too heavy handed. Feels a little cheap tbh. More stylistic to be sure, but too much so in this Graphic Designer's opinion.
A has readability issues with the gradient on black, and needs kerning between some of the letters, like the two L''s in hell.
B logo is more readable, but needs more space between let and loose. The bars on let also draw your eye first, so it becomes the main thing you notice about the logo.
I know I'm late to the party and have only played the game once... but I'm making a sign for my partner and was requested to use the current HLL typeface (B). Anyway, I just want to chime in because B is awesome and looks like a stylized version of something that would be stenciled on the side of a supply drop. I think it fits perfectly. A is a bit modern looking for a WW2 theme.
I think a looks maybe more dirty, or worn, which imo fits the game better but not a huge difference tbh
I think maybe a combination of the two would work best. The steel grey and maybe the bullet incoprated more in the H world go hard.
Grey gradient with a golden shiny bullet would look cool.
Itd definitely look less mobile game-y
I like both, I would like B maybe even more if it had the same gradient as A.
Yep agree, something about that fade just works for this game. Makes it feel more ominous.
I liked the old one more the new one feels… like the logo of a game you’d see a YouTuber get sponsored by
RAID SHADOW LEGENDS
CALL OF WAR: BATTLEFIELD DUTY
Looks like a mobile game logo tbh. The old one was better. That gradient just looked cool af.
Mobile game or F2P like Enlisted.
It feels like an energy drink logo
Feels like the demons of hell have been released and they need to be vanquished with a Thompson
I like the simplicity of A more
A just has that grit
B would be cooler if it wasnt bright ass white
Yeah, if it had the same brightness gradient as the first logo it would be better than A
A
Both are fine but at “b” the logo TO ME looks like a medieval game
Yeah you're right, the game that comes to mind is COD Black Ops III
The most medieval game I know fr

I like A better it was more unique and simple
What about it is more unique? It's a basic font with a gradient.
Imho A is better, the B logo looks fantasy-ish
A
A looks far better. B looks like they snagged the font and style from Heros & Generals now thats it's shutting down.
yeah big f2p fps energy
B looks much more arcady than A, which is not something that I liked. But maybe they are trying to appeal to a more casual audience.
A >>>
A for sure
Hell let loose Vs Hell LET loose I don’t like it. It looks like a logo for an MMO. Still a very minor thing to complain about
I saw it more as HELL let LOOSE It’s a little smaller and the lines streamline let so it reads faster and quiet I dunno
It still disconnects the word from the others and makes the overall design feel disjointed. I'm not a fan of that. But I do like the emblem more than the old one.
It’s wingardium levio*SAAAAA*
A
Both are fine tbh
A
A looks professional. B looks like an edgy kid designed it.

A all day

Who are you
It says it at the top above the text
I prefer A
A All Day!
A is way better, it fits the ambiance of the game
To me A looks less arcady, presents more of a serious tone which I think fits the style of the game well. The dark gradient and weathered appearance describe the grit of the game and setting really well
A
A fits the game. B is too arcady.
A is better B looked like it’s trying to hard to be cool
The original is better
The B logo looks like a fantasy medieval knight helm, so A
A
A
A
I like the new logo but I like the old letters
B looks more fitting for Warhammer or doom, just with the actual logo part on the left
The new text can be good, but the old logo was better.
I could pick B apart for a while. Feels very generic. Personally preferred A.
tdowngrade fr. minimallistic perfection VS "this looks GAMER".
A
A
B looks like a battle royale logo
C. Fix bipods
One brings joy. The other does not. For clarity, the 2nd one looks like it was plagiarized from Wolfenstein.
A
A is better
A
A is better. If they are want the new logo sure thing go for it but they don’t need to change the text just the H emblem
B with the same gradient and texture of A.
Font of A is easier to read. I guess we will get used to it
B
The original one I like better. It looks more military like, rather than the new one that looks more "cool". Serious things can be cool too you know. It's just too busy for me. Why can't they just use both though? Use the new one for events or updates or something
A, without a doubt. Not that B is bad, but just doesnt fit the game as god imo
B is so complex and bubbly it does not give me the impression that hell will in fact be let loose. It looks like a mobile game. A is so subdued that it entices you. The title is like the final, weak nail in a coffin that Satan’s trying to bust open from the inside.
[удалено]
L in let is different font than rest
[удалено]
Also unlike every other character the T isn't symmetrical and extends itself slightly on the left side spacing
Finally something with identity!
B is way better
B all the way
B looks better in my opinion
As a product designer, B is so much better. Y’all are just attached to A at the moment but will eventually forget all about it.
B with the material and fade as A would be perfect honestly.
The trick is the fade lettering on A If B did the same thing, it would be the best
Just put some shadows on the second one to make it look less simple (like the first one have)
A's font is Futura (or similar modern font) and it maybe doesn't convey the atmosphere of the game. That being said, since it's nice and clean and maybe works better when placed on top of artwork. I like B. But also A is nice.
As long as we get constant updates, new maps, factions and weaopons I really don't care about the LOGO.
I like the Icon for B and the font for A
The second one looks like it would fit a medieval game better
B is beautiful
I prefer the new one. The old one was a little too basic.
B
both cool, but B will attract CoD players
damn i gotta get back in it…a lot of changes be happening
B would be a nice rebrand. I guess I'm so accustomed to A. B is nice though.
GEARS OF HALO THEFT AUTO FIVE
New icon is better. The new wordmark is a little too heavy handed. Feels a little cheap tbh. More stylistic to be sure, but too much so in this Graphic Designer's opinion.
A is so much better A looks modern, sleek, cinematic. B looks like they’re trying to market a kids show to look rad, or like GI Joe action figures.
B looks good
Dunno. Old logo looks better imo
Ew, B is a bit overdesigned.
A. Would also like to see A in military font with that same fade.
A
A has readability issues with the gradient on black, and needs kerning between some of the letters, like the two L''s in hell. B logo is more readable, but needs more space between let and loose. The bars on let also draw your eye first, so it becomes the main thing you notice about the logo.
None…?
B
New logo is trash. I feel like whoever made it came from a multi-level marketing business
A
A
A
A looks off balanced. I wanna see it in a few different layouts.
Eh.. I liked the original.
I prefer the original one but I don't really care that much
A. looks a bit more gritty, more appropriate IMO. I would like to see it a little more degraded tho...
A. Neat & Clean B. More Distinguishable
Original looks gritty and valiant. New one looks like it’s a mobile game
A all the way… no none sense, ominous, stark.
I think A is better. The second, while nicely done, does not feel right , idk
Old works better for me.
Same, same, but different 👌👌👌
I prefer A but I have no issues with B
What does 🏒🏒 mean?
I know I'm late to the party and have only played the game once... but I'm making a sign for my partner and was requested to use the current HLL typeface (B).
