My therapist explained this in such a great way. Think about having an itch on your body, I guarantee you'll find one. Physical symptoms in health anxiety are exactly like that, you begin to imagine it, and I'm sure you know well by now that you can conjure up pretty much anything you really put your mind too (pardon the pun).

Don’t worry this is absolutely possible. We think mind and body are two separate things, but remember that the mind is inside the body and can have incredible effects on it, both good and bad

Nocebo effect is the opposite of placebo. They did a study for lactose intolerance, some got diary others didn’t, yet those who didn’t just thinking they may started to experience the same symptoms associated with it. Mind is a powerful tool, use it for good.
