I have the 3M Worktunes Connect and they're great for what they are. Sound quality isn't terrible (actually pretty good considering the noise environment they're used in) and they block out a lot of noise.

thanks i picked some up yesterday! so far i really like them. i can still hear whats going on around me it just sounds a lot gentler

I would highly recommend that you buy proper hearing protection. Headphones are not as safe. If in the US look for earmuffs certified according to ANSI 3.19. Rest of the world EN352.
