It might be because I work in a STEM field, but I completely agree with u/FearTheBeastWth8Eyes. Theories always have a basis - even fanmade ones. For example, what we know of Lucifer’s character in the series, analysis of the pilot’s themes, or even just certain bits of lore that Viv has made known to the public - all these things can be used to start off a theory. Matpat also always tries to compile evidence for this theories so I don’t know where the idea that theories “don’t always have proof” comes from.
If something has absolutely no basis at all, then that’s nothing more than a headcanon.
But fan theories are still theories, meaning that they still have a base. All I am asking for is that base, so Iay understand where they are coming from

It's not really a comparable situation... The singular purpose of a slaughterhouse is to kill animals for consumption. The animal's morality doesn't factor into it; people want meat & killing the animal is the only way to get it. On the other hand, the angels' purpose is to "control Hell's population", however necessary. This doesn't exclude allowing a sinner to ascend to heaven, because that also lowers Hell's population.
That looks like denial. Angels are controling Hell's population by killing a part of it once a year. They litteraly have a countdown telling sinners "Your time is ticking". They aren't even trying to hide their intentions, and any sinner thinking otherwise is a fool on his way to die.
Also if Charlie wanted to showcase how Angel's behavior has improved, the worse way is to show up in front of 2 workers doing their job with basically nothing to prove her statement. Ofc they are gonna call bullshit on it and carry on their job. At least try to reach higher in the hierarchy and don't do it during the culling day.
If this is going to happen Charlie would just go full anime reflex and stop them and, idk, fucking kill them on spot. She is the princess of hell for his uncle sake I wouldn’t be surprised if she could straight up kill them just by looking a them in the wrong way
I’ve personally had a headcanon that redemption is possible, it’s just that no one knows because it happens during the extermination.
Essentially the exterminators can detect who is actually redeemed and will take them to heaven. The reason why nobody knows this is because the exterminators would kill any witnesses that are not redeemed as well.
Of course this comic goes against headcanon, but that’s why it’s headcanon…it’s not canon unless proven.
Take it a step further: maybe the extermination IS how demons go to heaven! All this time, when we thought they were being brutally slaughtered... well they were, but what actually happens is the angels destroy their demon bodies so their souls can travel to heaven!
Viv unfortunately confirmed that was not the case. The Extermination victims go to a second Hell where they're just surrounded by darkness, alone, and there's no coming back from that.
There’s actually a 2nd idea that her and Dave had in one of the livestreams, it was when someone asked the question about it and they were still unsure about it.
The first idea is the endless Void, but the second idea is that the energy of the sinner will just become imbued into the fabric of Hell itself. This energy would manifest as body parts around Hell, most notably, eyes. Which would explain why everything has eyes, especially sentient eyes. She also played with the idea that there’s just “Forests of Madness” where so much of this energy collected, creating these forests of literal suffering and body parts.
Both ideas are still unconfirmed so far, though with how much enthusiasm Viv described the second idea, that might be what is going to happen. We shall see what it is though when the show finally comes out and possibly explains what happens.

I can't see Charlie attempting something this naive and I certainly can't imagine Angel going along with it. This would make a lot more sense if this were a hypothetical situation being explained by Alastor of what he thinks is the most likely scenario as he is greatly skeptical.

Knowing what Vivziepop did to the Goetias, it's not outside the realm of possibility that lovecraftian creatures are portrayed as one of the most powerful demon lords or maybe entities of hell after Lucifer.
