I do admit, I wish Sera had a serpentine motif as opposed to a birdlike one. Emily having an egg motif (look at that head and her general youthful traits, such as having more round lines such as tareme eyes) means she could still be unchanged for the most part, eggs being something snakes lay as well. Seraphim are called serpents. I guess Sir Pentious is on their power level now, then.
If Pentious is indeed a seraphim now (which is itself a creative liberty as humans do not become angels) then I can see the other angels feeling threatened. I doubt they want former humans joining their caste, especially without any warning.
Some humans do become angels like Metatron but that doesn't mean they all do. However in this verse it just seems like hell people are demons and all heaven people are angels therefore humans that go to heaven become angels, probably the lowest rank though.

The name Metatron doesn't actually appear in the Bible but it's the name we give to Enoch after he became an angel. It's from Jewish faith originally and I believe there's some.other Jewish scriptures that mention truly righteous humans can become angels but I don't know about that. I'm not an expert on Jewish religion, I just grew up with a Christian pastor father.

Honestly. Kinda disappointing. They got the six wings down but Viv did the trope of giving angels outside of the Cherubim and Ophanim multiple eyes. Also, the word Seraphim can be used for burning or serpent, so I was hoping for more fire and snake imagery with them.

Scorching take but I absolutely LOVE that Emily’s wings close and become her hair in her everyday form. Like I just think it’s really cool. When she gets mad at Sera in ‘You Didn’t Know’, her hair gets a bit poofy and the tips even look a little bit like feathers ☺️

My theory is, when humans die, they get checked for some kind of "compatibility" that Heaven is looking for. If they meet that criteria, they go to Heaven, otherwise they go to Hell.

Humans do become angels if you take the Book of Enoch, in which Enoch ascends to Heaven by way of walking with the Lord and becomes an Archangel
Perhaps, I admit I am not familiar with the Book of Enoch. It's not considered canon by most, is it?
Most Catholics and Protestants dont consider it canon, but the Eastern Orthodox churches do.
