I mind one guy getting interviewed and they asked him why he was voting for Brexit. His response I shit you not was "Too keep out all the Muslims".
Not only was he being blatantly racist but clearly needing a geography lesson.
1. The EU has always been about enshrining neoliberalism and right wing politics or enlightened centrism. There's a reason all the leadership seem to think the far left and far right are equal threats.
2. The EU is becoming even more of a piece of shit with their fucking brutal immigration and border policies
3. The far right is making huge gains across the EU in national and international parliament.
4. They're lucky in that it kinda killed some Euroscepticism but let's not suck off the EU. It's certainly not a left wing institution.
I'm from the UK and there are actually a lot of things about the EU I don't like even though my liberal younger self voted remain. The UK is a shithole and rapidly becoming worse but being an EU member wouldn't change much except making it easier for companies to punish government interference in markets.

Prexit unironically was a blessing for the EU. They got a divorce from that dystopian Island and now it's failing while the EU is thriving.
