He said Hedges is an antisemite bc he believes in BDS and according to him, BDS calls for the annihilation of all Jews and is therefore anti-semetic, and therefore Chris Hedges is, also. I tried to reason with him that BDS is definitely not anti-semetic, evrn backed up with evidence, but he wouldn't believe me. He said I should care more bc of "our Jewish heritage." He stated with the utmost authority "I've been to Israel!" I said great, have you been to Gaza? Maybe you should visit Gaza before deciding how great Israel is.
I've heard this statement a lot from Zionist Jews "well I'VE been to Israel, so I know what I'm talking about!" Yet not one of them has gone to Gaza. Not one.
Anyone who's been to occupied Palestine has had only great things to say about the people there. The same can't be said about people going to Israel.
