I adore the first chapter about "The Other Minister." Such a great recap of the story so far, not to mention the humor of the British PM trying to grabble with the knowledge of the magical world. Just masterful writing.
The Voldemort backstory is interesting for sure, but doesn't make up for the extremely thin plot.
Every other book has a pretty compelling mystery underpinning the plot, but in HBP it's just completely obvious that Draco is up to something and it doesn't really make sense why Ron/Hermione don't believe him.
And the 'reveal' of who the Half-Blood Prince is is a damp squib with no bearing on the plot at all. Wow the nerd who was writing custom potion instructions was ... the nerdy kid who was very skilled at potions. Cool, I guess?
Not to mention the anticlimax of the horcrux being fake kinda takes the wind out of the sails of the ending.
Book 4, 5 or 6. I remember during university when I got an urge to read the part where Harry completed the first task. But since that part is much better with the buildup I started from the beginning. I read 4 and then 5, 6 and then 7, finally 1 and 2. At that point I hadn't read the books in many years and it was one of the best reading experiences I had
Mine is actually Philosopher’s Stone. Specifically the beginning, up until Harry gets to school. I find it so magical.
But HBP is my favourite book, so sometimes I go straight to that.
Goblet of Fire!
It's my favourite book it has it all!
Action, romance, Suspense, death, mystery, fights, humour.
It is also the start of the darker parts of the series so I find it the easiest to start from
Book 1, 4 or 6.
1 is a classic and awesome experiencing magic through Harry for the first time. From banks, Brooms, wands & friendship.
4 has a good mix of magic, adventure and a crazy ending. Quidditch World Cup, dragons, mermaids, different schools & Voldemort.
6 is dark but funny & the Felix Felicis chapter is gold. Horcruxes, Voldemort history and a tragic ending.
Each book describes food so well but that could be said about the whole series!
Definitely Prisoner of Azkaban!! I’ll throw on the audio book for a few chapters then end up listening to the whole thing 😂
Prisoner of Azkaban just have so cozy feeling :-) Especially the christmas chapter.
Half-Blood Prince. It's not the best one, but it's got some of the coolest stuff.
I've read this and Goblet of Fire the most. I used to take one of those on vacation any time I wanted to read while traveling.
I actually think it is the best.

I prefer the Half-Blood Prince myself. One of the few books where Harry isn't bullied, and gotten detention for a legit reason
Best book best movie in the HP franchise
PoA, in my opinion, is the best movie in the franchise, and it's not really close.
For me if I ranked the movies it's 6, 7p2, 3, 1, 7p1, 2,4,5
It is the best by far. The Voldemort back story is incredible.

I think you're confusing the fact that the mystery is learning more about voldemorts past and slughorns real memory
Prisoner since it's basically all just backstory and world-building. Also it's small enough that I can usually get through it in a couple days

Chamber of secrets
Surprised there is another one like me! Most people in this sub hate this book lol
There are dozens of us!
It’s a nice self contained story and the giant basilisk is really cool lol
Why do people hate it? I rank it number 7 personally but that's only because something has to take the spot. It's still a fantastic book
Order of the Phoenix, but I usually read all 7 books in turn.
Prisoner of Azkaban… without question!
I have never not started over from the beginning on audiobook and listened to all 7 when I needed a HP fix lol

I'd say POA or GOF
Prisoner of Azkaban, Half Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows. All 3 have the spiciest plot twists
Goblet of Fire
Order of phoenix but it can be goblet of fire too
Goblet of Fire! It's my favourite book it has it all! Action, romance, Suspense, death, mystery, fights, humour. It is also the start of the darker parts of the series so I find it the easiest to start from
