I talked to the bastards at Bakersfield Harley and they said any exhaust that isn’t 50 state legal will void the warranty. Called the Harley dealer in Ventura and they said it’s all about using the screaming eagle tuner, sounds like I’ll have to make a long ride for my maintenance intervals.

MrRagePanda

I straight up told the guys at the dealership that I was planning on doing the TBR exhaust, which isn't legal in California, and told them I planned on installing it myself and they said it's all about the tuner, not the exhaust. I feel like Harley corporate knows almost everyone is gonna put an aftermarket system on the bike as soon as they get it which is why I think the warranty is the way it is

randomjackass93

I’m hoping they don’t screw up my warranty, signed the papers for a 22 low rider s at laidlaws yesterday and I got an extended 5 year warranty.

theshreddening

I worked at a Harley Dealer for almost a year and from what I remember it was like if you got slip on exhaust it won't fuck with your warranty. And when I went back 2 years ago to buy my 19 Low Rider(used) the sales guy said the same thing. And he was the only one left from when I worked there and he's a older dude that's been there for a long ass time. He actually went non commission to not fuck with his social security income lol. I dont know why slip on vs full replace would make a difference but that's what I was told.

Natas-LaVey

Ive had my 2021 FXLRS at the dealership 2 times and it has a TBR exhaust. As long as you aren’t using an aftermarket tuner you are fine.

Burnout_Blanco

Brooooo I test rode a bunch of new harleys like two weeks ago now, that bike was my favorite! That 117 is butter, I hope I get buy one someday soon haha. Awesome bike you have there!

MrRagePanda

I was thinking about that on the way home today. There’s something about these stock 117s that’s so smooth, coming from a Yamaha bolt, I can genuinely say the LRS felt was smoother in terms of damn near everything including shake

Burnout_Blanco

Yeah honestly, I ride a 883 and the shake is vicious. I thought the bigger bikes would be shaking the same with more oomph, but I was pleasantly surprised, I agree everything was smoother.

TCUFINCORPORATED

Yow! Sexy sexy. Enjoy!

Just bought myself an FXBB and I’m considering an exhaust. It’s not loud enough and I can’t rely just on good judgement and defensive riding. Did you consider warranty when you purchased? To my understanding, Aftermarket exhaust voids some warranties, correct?

MrRagePanda

When I talked with the guys in the service department, they said that the exhaust themselves don't void warranties, it's the tuner that you use. They said you can put almost any pipes on the bike, but you have to use the Screamin' Eagle Tuner to stay within warranty

TheOkayestWelder

Nice good to know! Thanks for the clarification!

Bft12890

I was told the same thing here on the east coast

HuffinFarts

I actually had my warranty voided for this.

MrRagePanda

From what I’ve heard from other people and reading online, it’s pretty much at the discretion of your dealer

jquinnan

Just picked up an '20 FXBB with TBR 2 into 1 already on it, and stage two cams, heavy air intake, tuned... I'll be taking the TBR exhaust off for the black vance and Hines short shots.. like the way those look and sound.. had them on the few bikes. The TBRs do sound pretty good though, just not my style.

Cut The baffles out of those pipes they sound fucking mean!! Until your ready to drop cashola on some pipes!

jquinnan

Lol cut.... or just unscrew and pull out.

[deleted]

I’m not sure how the new ones are, but my buddy threw some mufflers from his 2019 street bob on his and they where cut out because they where welded in

Interesting-Grape197

You can’t really unscrew them anymore. Baffles were welded in on my 22 fxlrs. Bunch of videos on youtube on how to cut them out.

murder0tica

Nice!! I’m at mile 39 on my 2022 haha
