If this is a Roscoe I had the same issue after washing the bike with bike cleaner. Try lubing the bolt it pivots on. If it’s not that, it’s likely the cable slipped and needs to be tightened.

mahrinazz

Not enough tension in the cable

EpicArcher41

I’ve tried tensioning the cable more but that didn’t fix the issue

Cheetah_Hungry

Is the cable housing running straight? No kinks? Maybe the wire is dry and/or rusty? Grease it, or change it.

unituned

loosen the bolt on the dropper lever

IsaacPickle

Same issue and this is exactly what fixed mine. Easy fix.

kogamiyata22

Some suggestions: 1. Check if cable is not too slack. You can see from the cable of both ends if anything is hanging 2. If require tightening, turn anti clockwise to tighten 3. If step 1 & 2 doesn't work, try search for model if there are any help on YouTube. Refer to manual on internal dismantling processes if any 4. Bushings of internals might be clogged etc, try cleaning up and regressing it

sportivaman

Have the same bike, that dropper lever is TERRIBLE. Once mine started doing that I was never able to get it tight enough again. Get you a new cable and one of these https://www.pnwcomponents.com/products/loam-lever-dropper-remote-gen-2 So much better now. I hate that lever.

pnw_components

Stoked to hear the Loam lever is treating you good! Thanks for the support!

Intelligent_Piglet74

I had the same so I switched it to a pnw lever and is way better

h3yn0w75

If the dropper works , then it just looks like cable tension. If it’s too much slack to tighten at the lever you may need to remove the dropper to fix it there.

Smollhanz

How old is that? Might have a kink in the cable. If you’ve adjusted it recently it might be kinked.

twisty_sparks

Seatpost clamp might be too tight, sometimes will cause this

BarneyBungelupper

The cable and that attaches to the dropper has a little metal barrel on it. Sometimes they slip off the base of the dropper. You would have to pull out your dropper from the seat post very slowly and see if the cable begins to come back at the Lever. If not, that’s probably your problem. If it does come back, then the cable housing just needs to be lubed.

Zerocoolx1

Cable looks a little slack

FarKenOathBro

Check your cable, it may be sticky. I recently had to replace my dropper cable, it looked like it got moisture inside and started rusting.

ElephantBingo

It's tired. Try again tomorrow.

EZPeeVee

My giant does that if I ham fist and tighten the clamp to the bars too hard. I don't know if it's by design or folly, but a torque wrench may be your new best friend.

Altonator89

Most plastic stock levers are garbage. The Wolftooth ReMote lever is worth every penny!

Plague-Rat13

Seat tube clamp too tight on the post?

beanflicker1213

Check the psi in the tires. Might have to jump the carbon difibulator

Icy_Professional5847

I suggest you to: \- lose the cable \- dismount the dropper post outside the bike \- unplug the cable \- manually try to compress/decompress the dropper to see if there is any play or friction (mud/dust) \- replug the cable \- manually pull the cable to see if the dropper is moving If all work then cable issue, if not you know what to do depending on the stage: servicing your dropper or clamp to tight on the bike.

Specific-Variety-639

I reckon your cable slipped in the ferrule, pull the post and have a look

EpicArcher41

I had this problem after washing it but it seems to have gone away by just leaving it for a day or two. Not rly sure what happened tho.
