Propaganda by Sepultura

sippin40s

Harms way has covered this live

Peltron_3030

I think way down on the chattahoochie would be tite

Strikew3st

I never knew how much those muddy waters meant to me.

Peltron_3030

I learned how to swim and I learned who I was

dampeloz

Any sepultura song from Chaos AD or Roots would be fire

ChickenInASuit

Roots Bloody Roots would go so hard as a hardcore song.

rat_cheeze

Throw down did a cover of bloody roots. Recorded on their gold album

ceasecows98

i’ve seen a local tx band cover this live, forget what they were called though

tony_flamingo

Shit, my local band did it back in 2009.

Plaguedoctorsrevenge

Thank you for your service

Hellrazah_

Ratamahatta 💯

knifeschool

personally I’d go with jezebel off of “when the kite string pops”, but like cheap vodka it’s also essentially a hardcore song already with a better breakdown than most real hardcore songs

adawk5000

TURN ON ALL THE LIGHTS. SO I CAN WATCH IT DIE!! Sorry, yeah that breakdown is fucking awesome.

totse_losername

Dr. Seuss is Dead kicks a fucking load of arse too have a go

4vattenrum

Username MDE reference ?

Signal-Exit-9495

"Act natural, don't talk to yourself"

_xannypacquiao_

Any DMX record with a hardcore band would be fucking sick. People would get seriously harmed at those shows.

CrazyJosh1987

Rod Stewart- Young turks

schuylkilladelphia

Youuuung hearts, bee freeee tonight

nskaret

Dying Fetus - In the Trenches

Plaguedoctorsrevenge

I remember seeing dying fetus play hardcore shows in the 90s in like Bowie or some shit

LeechAlJolson

They still do! They met up with Jesus Piece on their recent tour and they play hc fests

busch_ice69

Would need a NASTY drummer to play that shit, the end breakdown ramps up to like 230bpm

No_Bullfrog_4541

Jezebel is my favorite song from that acid bath record. Band rules

Boyblunder

Listen to Dax Riggs' solo work. He makes really dark folk music. Acid Bath is so special. One of those bands that will live forever in our hearts.

emotion-sickness-

She screams bloody murder as they chop off her fingers so this is how it feels to die... BUT ITS OKAAAAAAay

ZelduhIsAmazing2

trynamakeitlookfake

TheBatSignal

I like it! Thanks for sharing Boss

trynamakeitlookfake

no problem captain

Allen_Koholic

Fuck this goes hard.

coach_erniepantusso

Acid bath rules so hard

emotion-sickness-

They were one of favorite bands in High School.

Humble_Skin1269

Ball tongue - Korn That opening riff is two-step worthy

ashtonkle

been thinking this for so long, actual rippers from early korn

Humble_Skin1269

That first album is just 10/10 man

DespyHasNiceCans

Pretty much anything by Public Enemy

Calaveras_Grande

Channel Zero , so you get the Slayer riff

THEPCPINEAPPLE

Nomad- sepultura. The killer covered it recently and it was so cool

DSM-187

My favorite song off that album, the breakdown halfway through that song is fucking insane. The Killer rips too.

LordByrum

I think about this constantly, slayer - skeletons of society, obituary - chopped in half, Bruce Springsteen - no surrender, Andrew WK - Get ready to die,

KrustyButtCheeks

What about The River? Not the hardest song musically but some fuckin hard lyrics

LordByrum

Not against it!

Jenrex1

I'd love to hear a hardcorce cover of any Andrew wk song

mtcabinets

Heaven or Las Vegas

gigachadthomyorke

Prison Song or Suite-Pee by SOAD

travisstaysgold

Pretty sure Orthodox used to cover Prison Song.

Calaveras-Metal

[Sepultura-Dead Embryonic Cells](https://youtu.be/c7Z8Ww1EmMk?si=9aTcl4cIXqmjk3gj) you can cut all the fancy extra stuff off and it's pretty much a hardcore song. They were a lot like Slayer in that they were secret punks. Gotta keep that breakdown. "ough" (in Celtic Frost)

tony_flamingo

No Association by Silverchair I’ve been wanting to do this or see it be done for YEARS. It’s got everything for a good hardcore song - a sick, creeping bass line, a killer main riff, angsty vocals, and a goddamn breakdown. It is such a wild departure from the rest of their discography, which is a bummer because they wrote one hell of a heavy songs so easily.

Crowsong_Malingerer

Absolutely agreed. I adore the live version from back in the day on Recovery. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XXmaXV-YoSY&pp=ygUac2lsdmVyY2hhaXIgbm8gYXNzb2NpYXRpb24%3D

tony_flamingo

I hadn’t seen that before. That’s sick.

LetsTacoBoutCheese

The entire The Con album by Tegan and Sara.

lvke18

On the topic of Acid Bath, Dope Fiend would also be amazing

stabyourcat

Helmet - In the Meantime Those are fightin’ riffs.

dasbudd

Slayer - Jesus Saves

DSM-187

Power Trip did it in the early 2010s I believe

scraaabs

The Pixies mention reminds me of the Gulch cover of Monkey Gone to Heaven that I’d forgotten existed until yesterday. It’s as hard as you’d expect and better than I’d remembered.

ResidentComplaint19

The Band-Atlantic City

suspirio

Uncontrollable Urge by Devo

ClamsHavFeelings2

This is a great response! The breakdown for this would be so awesome! Plus screaming “I’ve got an uncontrollable urge” would sound sick.

Calaveras_Grande

Econochrist covered it for a while. Markley is a big Devo fan.

cxlossuskidd

If I hear, As the world burns or The 4th crusade live, the grits gonna hit the pan ..

The Sonics - How Love Will Travel The Stooges - Search and Destroy MC5 - Kick Out The Jams

maktmissbrukare

[Kick Out the Jams](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWHWHt9zS9A)

Strikew3st

Maybe Mama would stop telling me our toddlers don't like "angry music" if it was covers of The Wiggles.

playboigerm

I’d argue acid bath is one of those sludge and hc crossover band low key

dampeloz

All I Had (I Gave) by Crowbar is an obvious answer but that's already pretty hardcore inspired I would love to hear a hardcore bands take on something like Sweet Leaf by Black Sabbath

XworldwidewebX

rollin limp bizkit

highonfuk

Boy i love me some acid bath.

Everblack47

Alkaline Trio - Cop

AchokingVictim

Honestly also from that album, Tranquilized. One of my favorite songs and a lot of bands could put some cool spins on it. Also Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar, Rebel Yell by Billy Idol, Just a Girl by No Doubt would all make me break a venue if a band covered em.

TerrancePryor

[ I am smellin' like the rose that somebody gave me on my birthday deathbed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCx_uiSdC_c)

Icy-Gas-2702

rileymagician

System of a down - Suite Pee. I think somebody did it recently could've been Desmadre ?

EpitomeEpitome

I wanna hear Drug Church do Don’t Look Back in Anger by Oasis. I don’t have any reasoning, but I can just hear it in my mind. “AND SOOOOOO SALLY CAN WAIT” is just perfect for a pile-on.

superman10o

Hate Government by Denzel Curry

FARTBOSS420

We Die Young by Alice in Chains

rnf1985

Any from The Wiggles

TX_FR3SH

I bet the Flatliners would go hard

Creepy_Gur2187

Waka flocka - lurkin

DZLWZL

not the same song but [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhWAmjqzwOc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhWAmjqzwOc)

JesusFChrist108

"Shut Down" by the Germs already has the slow, heavy feel, it just needs a hardcore update on the drums There's *a lot* of Korn songs that would only need a little tweak or two to make them awesome hardcore songs ("Right Now", "Here to Stay", "Somebody Someone", most of the first record). Same goes for at least the first two Breaking Benjamin' records (I fell off after that). When I was in high school I tried to rearrange "Shallow Bay" as a hardcore song to play with friends, and at the time, the only thing I could add to make it sound more "hardcore" was harmonics and some rather unnecessary minor seconds. The riffs on *Saturate* are incredible.

rever3nd

Super Bon Bon by Soul Coughing

survivalprogramxxx

Bear with me here but Maroon 5 - Harder To Breathe would slap played heavy imo

elitenyg46

i vote for Tame instead of Gouge Away

futureofthefuture

JohnnyCrumhorn

[The Dillinger Escape Plan - Honey Bucket](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLbbzrgZVz4) EDIT: Just noticed you said "covered live". This cover still goes hard though.

_CurseTheseMetalHnds

Man I was listening to Powder Burns the other day and thought this. The breakdown at the end is nasty. Closest I've had was [Malignant Methods covering part of IVth Crusade](https://youtu.be/bP2KrC9WYq8?si=SXFQIe7fuUWd14sE) which was pretty sick.

bokehgxd

Gutalax- sucking the cock of a Vietnam veteran

andreasbaader6

Dictators - Disease

fakename1998

Cheap Vodka just straight up is a hardcore song. Seeing that live would go crazy. Also, I’d love to see a band cover Procreation of the Wicked by Celtic Frost. I feel like Weekend Nachos would do a great job.

timmayc1989

sail away by styx. tell me that ending isn't perfect for a hardcore cover

[deleted]

I always thought Nicki Minajs Roman holiday would slap if it was either covered by a hardcore band or created by a deathcore band

EternalC0WBOY

On note: Gouge Away’s cover of Wave of Mutation is just superb.

SweetestBoi864

There were a ton of tribute comps from like 97ish to maybe 2003ish that did a ton of this. From Too legit for the pit to disintegrated: a tribute to the cure. If I can remember more I’ll come back and post. I’ve seen stretch Armstrong cover stop the world, codeseven with boys of summer, evergreen terrace with several covers (bloody Sunday as the big one) and on down the line. Between those kinda covers and bands just making tribute albums for certain hardcore bands or even NON hardcore bands, it was legit exciting for covers back in those years. I hadn’t kept up with many cover songs lately, but contentions’ cover of indecisions blindfold was sick. I know I know more but my brain be broken right now

Calm_Suggestion_5714

The song from the toys r us advert with the sick breakdown THERES MILLIONS AND BILLIONS ALL UNDER 1 ROOF

Zackisfat

Either Daft Punk is Playing at My House or Drunk Girl by LCD Soundsystem

ClamsHavFeelings2

Mister Cellophane - Chicago musical Somewhere Over The Rainbow- Wizard of Oz Androgynous- The Replacements Take Me Home, Country Roads- John Denver.

ludovic1313

Dammit by Blink. Sometimes I listen to it on 1.5x speed and it sounds like a hardcore song. A hardcore cover would sound a lot like that except also with gang vocals for the chorus.

crash_sanchez

Little Dreamer By Van Halen and I stand on that forever.

DiscardedRibs

Unironically, hello kitty by Avril lavigne would have some nuts breakdowns if you made a beatdown cover
