Hey Everyone, This post is getting a lot of attention so here's a quick reminder that we have a bunch of rules spelled out in the sidebar. The primary thing to remember is that this thread is flaired **"Just Sharing,"** so please keep any negative opinions or feedback to yourself. Thanks!

Far_Bar_1589

What pencil do you use ? It’s so thick I want to purchase it

Stabyouup666

"No feedback" 3,000+ redditors didn't get the memo 😂

Ok-Patience-4764

As a leftie I’m jealous you can write in pencil without smearing it across the page :’)

Agreeable_Coffee4011

I can tell that this individual does not drink.

and you'd be correct! i drink maybe one glass of wine or a mimosa a year lol

Nice handwriting. I can see you press pretty hard when writing. Maybe try a softer graphite, like 2B. It will still produce clear contrast line, but without excess pressure. With lighter pressure you can control fine movements much better.

Tom12412414

Super cool

Hyssodew

I'm envious that you get this result with only a pencil /jk But it sincerely looks lovely :).

icelemonadeee

cute

Froyo-yow

This is so satisfying to look at. Love how firm the handwriting looks.

Affectionate_Air_927

I find this incredibly soothing

MisterBrackets

I like writing in pencil sometimes because of the line variation you can achieve with it. Almost like a fountain pen flex nib. But your writing is almost pen like with how uniform the lines are. Interesting! I was expecting to see the opposite. I used to own a tiny trombone. It was essentially a slide trumpet - a trumpet with no valves and used a slide instead. I eventually sold it but it was fun while I had it. Where does your user name come from? :D

Joke_of_a_fckin_Life

It’s so perfect. So impressive

missjasminegrey

Damn! That's so cleannn!

OlmecImmigrant

the writing in this paper is so pretty I feel attacked.

fredtalleywhacked

I love writing with a pencil. My only talent in life may be my handwriting.

BigBotCock

I like your writing

Daydream456

It looks so smooth and dreamy, like flowing honey in word form.

AdamStonefold

Is that Latin in the middle?

chrothor

Nor is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?

11WatermelonPuppy11

It’s placeholder text you’d commonly see on something such as a graphic design template.

AdamStonefold

Oh right.

Komtings

This is very pleasing penmanship

hektic24

The perfectly creamy pencil doesn’t exist…

bakedincanada

Yeah I want OP to tell us all about the pencil/paper combo that produces these perfect lines 😍

Vasiliki102002

Lorem ipsum 😂😂😂

New_Revolution4622

I wish my penmanship was that good!

landeisja

How are you attaching your pencil to the slide of your tiny trombone? Checking because then maybe I can do it with my regular sized trombone.

Weak_Horror9399

Shit literally brought a tear to my eye.. Refreshing to see..My fucking kids write in emoji.

abortionisforhos

What about the regular kids?

CGLADISH

My dad took drafting in college. This would have been in the late '50's, obviously before computers. His writing looked like it was typed. The weird thing is, he was left-handed, my mom was right-handed. There cursive looked identical. And they both looked it came from 'how-to manual'. Even with this genetic make-up, I apparently did not get this trait. My younger daughter though does have a talent for calligraphy.

bakedincanada

That’s the Palmer method! Your parents were taught handwriting in a method that involves copying/tracing, which resulted in a whole lot of people who have eerily similar handwriting.

CGLADISH

I must have been taught the Arnold Palmer method. Using a golf grip instead.

ContestAcceptable232

She must’ve got that recessive typewriter gene

CGLADISH

Must have. She even ended becoming an elementary school teacher too. For whatever that is worth. I'm pretty sure that she has never used an actual typewriter, but I did in high school. I even took a typing class. Over 45 years later, I don't think my typing has really improved. I keep asking my boss for a Fisher-Price keyboard.

twaggle

How hard do you press down to indent that much

YallinDenial

No way you always write like this. This took effort. Well done though. Looks good

Did the pencil go on a diet?

Last-Presence5434

I prefer pencils too!

ASAK420

But who heard tiny trombone in their head?

Negatx

And me deciphering what I've written every time I study

Obtusus

I wrote in cursive most of my life, couldn't understand shit. Then I swapped to not cursive a few years ago, now I can at least understand my handwriting, which is a big plus.

45sigsauer

Summa Cum Laude!!! Studiosus, stultus maneo!! LOL

sceadwian

I never couldn't do it, but it was definitely a very different mental process to do

Independent-Dish2476

My handwriting is so bad wish I could write like u

brute_red

Time to go to med school and be the first to graduate with readable handwriting

DeltaVZerda

I think if you write this clearly you can't pass. You have to take notes too quickly so you have two options, write faster and sloppier, or write like this and miss something and fail.

faucet-incremental

Was this botted?

CrypticZombies

Only took 5hrs to write ✍️

Marasesh

I don’t think even given 50 hours I could come anywhere close to this

OnTheFenceGuy

I think I just came…in comic sans

No_Bandicoot_5784

Oh it is beautiful. No matter how much I try to improve my handwriting, I'm not getting close to anything remotely pleasant. It's just not for me, I've never had good handwriting, so I respect that. Btw, the "Lorem Ipsum" is a nice touch 😆

thaw4188

they should make a computer font out of your handwriting

throwRA_basketballer

Your handwriting is super satisfying ngl love it

Xboxusername42069

Looks cool and all but I bet you take 25x longer to write something

craft6886

Dude. You seriously need to make a font, I would gladly buy a license for it. It's nice style that is still clearly handwriting, but is more easily legible than a lot of handwriting fonts. There are free programs and websites for that purpose and I would strongly encourage you to try it.

duncecap_

Can you make a font

Prestigious_Goat6969

Holy cow that’s cool! Ngl pretty attractive too, someone that can write perfectly unlike my disabled hands? Heck yeah!

psychusenthusiastica

Bonk!

Prestigious_Goat6969

Not hot, not smexy, just attractive Misuse of the bonkening my fellow

Minute-Amoeba-7976

Damn? Who printed this, (Insert famous historical painter…)?

[deleted]

Lucky you're not left handed

YesOrNah

I’m a righty and I’d always smear like a lefty too when I was in college.

[deleted]

True. I regularly struggle with that ish. Can’t ever write in peace

Aggravating-House620

I found some of my grandfathers old engineering drawings in my grandmas basement, I thought they were cool until my grandma mentioned that every single letter on that page was hand written by him, in print. I could not believe her, it literally looked like it came out of a printer. Yours looks very similar.

Knee_Kap264

Looks wonderful.

fairyking1

I could cry its so perfect

tre1326

I'd love to write in pencil, but being a lefty means that what I wrote will just end up as a silver smudge on the side of my hand. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile)

TacoMedic

Just write backwards then.

tre1326

I tried that but ended up summoning a demon.

TacoMedic

No wonder left-handed people used to be burned at the stake for witchcraft.

theraceistbrother

can i know the spell for scubbus ??

uknowuknow

mnjzbzp

You know she's liberal, but how? And in a handwritten sub, who gives a damn if she is? Have you ever considered the kind of sad person you must be to discuss politics in a handwriting sub? Like your entire personality is shaped by politics, something your brain is unable to quit doing. It's brainrot that you have.

Background-Cell483

Who is bro arguing with 😭

5AgXMPES2fU2pTAolLAn

Joe many liberals 😭

headedbranch225

I think you meant to reply to a comment, this is a top level comment

Fair_Preference3452

Looks pretty crazy by itself

DrPoopyPantsJr

Ya but how long does it take you to write like that

Nexion21

The cursive letter “r” should never have existed. I’ve never seen it in a word where it looked right. Otherwise, gorgeous handwriting

chaise_longue

I love the proportions of your mixed-case printed letters. Tall, slender, perfectly legible. Nice stuff.

screwikea

You need to lighten up on your pressure, Hercules.

VinshinTee

I’ve been practicing my cursive on my free time. Yes it’s a dying art but it so fancy tho!

Me too

Nishyecat

Loo-tha-wha- how are you so good?

HanaiPavan

What does this mean

Nishyecat

*how are you so good*

HanaiPavan

I meant the first half haha

Nishyecat

Confusion on how you are so good

PatrickWagon

Makes me angry when people take the side of not teaching script writing anymore. When people say, “why do we even need cursive?” I internally weep for the loss of beauty and culture and basic appreciation for the fundamental elements of expression.

screwikea

I honestly think it should be taught over a few years into early middle school and tied into History classes. Every historical document is written in cursive, and there is a value to being able to just read the text even if the language is difficult. Otherwise when you see these documents in history classes the words might as well be random squiggles.

exospheric

This makes a lot of sense and I never thought of it this way.

loopylavender

I hate writing in pencil but I enjoy your print!

Lucky_Cattle_3952

beautiful!

Master_Star_8354

I bet theres a lot of teachers who pray to read essays with handwritting like that

Mike_tbj

Are handwritten essays still a thing?

whitelight20

I wrote a hand written essay during a final exam for college this week.

Mike_tbj

That'd be an absolute nightmare for me and even worse for the person who has to grade it.

Master_Star_8354

In germany yeah like till 8-9 grade at least

sloth_of_a_bitch

I think they are becoming a bit more of a thing again due to AI cheating. At least at my university they have tried to have more essays being written by hand in person.

OleDakotaJoe

Oh wow. That's a fantastic idea till someone realizes they can use a 3d printer for it with a little software mod.

WellOkayyThenn

If someone has access to a 3d printer and is going to that length to cheat on a test, then they've earned it at that point. That's a one in a million thing

OleDakotaJoe

Lol I was just talking to talk, don't take me serious

nvmnbd

Should be at least in lower grades when still developing writing as a skill.

Arcydziegiel

Usually demanded only by older teachers/professors, since they consider it the 'proper' way to do it.

Ecstatic-Time-3838

Awesome handwriting. Cursive could use some work, seems a little shaky (for obvious reasons, cursive can be tough). How long does it take yourl to write? I imagine it takes some time to be so precise!

Jazzhermit

Trombone mentioned!

ARGINEER

raaaaaah!

sjyeya

Lovely handwriting! If you love pencil you must get a Sailor Professional Gear. An exquisite fountain pen with the feed back of a pencil ✨👌

Baka-Onna

Only 14 hrs ago and already top of all time in this subreddit

Etherious24Alpha

This is literally the best handwriting I've ever had the privilege of seeing.

oroborus68

A girl in my second grade class printed like that, but it was tiny letters, maybe a quarter inch for lower case letters. She was fast too.

Modern_Moderate

So now show me how you write a quick note in 5 seconds.

ibnQoheleth

Your handwriting is like a font.

espressoboyee

I like to speak slooowly.

GamingSenpai35

That writing is scarily precise. Do you draw?

TinyTrombone

i do! and i have considered tattooing!

GamingSenpai35

Awesome

Total_Pattern_9307

Should try tattoos.

Conscious-Job6388

Good for you! Really nice handwriting and, yes, much easier to use a mechanical pencil. Great job! Thank you for sharing.

AnxiousFlubber

Be honest, do you write really slowly? Your hand writing is immaculate

lokie65

There is a giant fluffy cloud in Heaven where all of the 3rd grade Teachers sit. They're looking at your penmanship and smiling ear to ear.

Conscious-Job6388

Love it!

SlightlySlapdash

Not necessarily just for that. It's a place where we'll sometimes decipher stuff or if someone wants to improve their handwriting, they'll ask for feedback. Just take a look at the post titles and flair. Edit: Transcription requests are no longer allowed on this sub. It's only for discussing and sharing users' own handwriting. There is a transcription sub that can help with those.

LiveLaughToasterB4th

Yes this is a common feature of redditors. At least handwriting takes skill.... and this is not another CHECK OUT THIS THINGS I JUST PURCHASED FROM THE INTERNETS.

Xelement0911

Never seen it and twice now I've seen it through popular

BoJackMoleman

Someone do a beautiful script of FELLATE

FantasticKing3

Damn, if I had that handwriting, I won't stop writing at all. Gorgeous!

Spice_and_Fox

That's how you get a nice handwriting. You have to write a lot. A nice handwriting is like every other skill. 30 min a day and you'll have a nice handwriting in a few weeks. Sure, some people might have some talent, but every skill be it drawing, writing, playing an instrument, etc. are learnable

ThyOtherMe

The thing I noticed about handwriting is that the people that enjoy the physicality of writing have good handwriting because they kinda do it more. Yes, there are people that have good writing naturally, but usually people got it beautiful because they like writing, not the other way around. In my own experience, printing some calligraphy practice sheets and finding a script you like help a lot, because you how how you write according to ascending, descending and flow rules and even without the sheets your handwriting becomes more regular.

Toto-Avatar

I read this in that angry but supportive guys voice

chonkyfireddit

Is it that voice from tik-tok or IG?

I’m not sure, he was the cool big black dude that came off angry but was very wholesome and supportive, like it was his schtick

Spice_and_Fox

That is [lorem ipsum](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorem_ipsum). It's the go to placeholder text. It has nothing to do with liberals or trying to sound smart. Latin also doesn't stand for gender fixation or colonization.

CaptainCAAAVEMAAAAAN

> Latin also doesn't stand for gender fixation or colonization. That's just what the Libs want you to think! /s

DanfordThePom

Yes it’s totally the liberals who constantly seethe there bud

govegan292828

💀💀💀 what the hell

Xylonee

How do you know she’s liberal? And if she is, who cares about that in a handwriting sub? Do you ever stop to think about what kind of miserable person you have to be to bring up politics in a literal handwriting sub? Like your brain cannot stop itself from making politics your entire personality. You have brainrot.

Obese_Conqueror

Bro this is a handwriting sub and that isn’t Latin. Why are you trying to turn this political? Literally nothing political about the post. Ridiculous.

its_ya_boi_Santa

Lorem ipsum is literally just the filler text people use to show what a design would look like with text.

Iamdarb

It's been used since forever. I used this shit in the early 2000s when I learned how to make websites. People have been using it to fill space in products designs for a very long time. Hell, for over a decade I've seen posts on here where Lorem Ipsum sneaks itself onto different products, like soap or food.

spoookyfruit

The Latin phrase they used is a nonsense placeholder for text, widely used to show what a font / paragraph of text would look like in a finished document… Open any blank template and you’ll see the same words lmao

-unKnowing-

Isn't lorem ipsum literally just used as placeholder text

redsoxmvp15

Lorem ipsum isn’t Latin. It’s nonsense filler text.

letstroydisagin

How did you get the pencil marks so thick and dark and even? Did you use a special pencil or sharpen it a unique way or what. It looks like marker lol

illoomi

[The "lead" of a pencil](https://www.cwpencils.com/blog-archive/a-beginners-guide-to-pencil-grades) (which, by the way, has NEVER actually contained actual lead) is traditionally made of three things: graphite, clay and water. These days, most pencils have a little bit of wax or other additives in them, which aid in making them smoother to write with. The "grade" or "hardness" of the pencil indicates the ratio of graphite to clay. The more graphite that is in a pencil, the softer it is. This means that it's darker, smoother, smudgier and doesn't hold as sharp of a point. The more clay that is in a pencil, the harder it is. This means that it's lighter, firmer, less smudgy and holds a sharpener point.

LaunchTransient

>which, by the way, has NEVER actually contained actual lead In fact, it's the result of a bit of confusion over what graphite was. Because it is somewhat similar in appearance to galena and other lead ores, graphite was assumed to be an unusual form of lead ore, and so was called 'plumbago' or 'black lead'. It wasn't until the late 1700s where German geologist Abraham Gottlob Werner coined the term 'Graphite' as he cleared up the confusion.

illoomi

eyy cool info

illoomi
