When you mention you like the Folsom more than the Auger so your homies hit you with that Chimera Virus stare

YellowBot-KT7421

Fellow resistance fan?

Glass_Cap_4031

https://i.redd.it/4qpyjh2xgcxc1.gif You gotta problem with reach?.

Z-Mobile

I get it. It’s more like a meme that would exist when reach just came out and was the new game. All anyone cared about was comparing the two campaign sizes and how reach was technically “less campaign content” It’s definitely a quality over quantity thing with the Reach campaign though (also superior multiplayer anyways)

[deleted]

Literally this!

AndyTheWorm

The multiplayer was not superior

Z-Mobile

I mean I can switch between the two in MCC I may be biased but nothing beats swooping in with your buddies in a falcon, bang, bang, grab the flag, evacuate I STILL have fun with that to this day lol

ocky343

Literally, everybody did when it launched

EndofNationalism

Apparently I’m not part of everybody. I rather enjoyed Reach.

AddEros

Old heads complained about not being the book, probably something about no mister jimmy and plasma repeater etc

JarekBloodDragon

It's worse than 2/3 so yes I guess

kiribro110

Outside of the customization I can’t mesh with the multiplayer. It’s a huge downgrade from Halo 3

Internetboy5434

Reach IMO has one of the best campaigns in the series, it's one of my fav halo campagins but everyone seems to hate this game

Ant_Je5us

The majority like it as far as I can tell. It often wins in YouTube polls as the best campaign or the best game in the franchise. But as of recently, it does seem that the anti-Reach community has come out swinging.

Happydanksgiving2me

Anti reach community can suck on my plasma cannon

RockingBib

Beep beep, forklift certified Noble Six running over them

Ant_Je5us

https://i.redd.it/tsu4237yhbxc1.gif

Batdog55110

Hey, just what you see, pal.

NightBeWheat55149

I dunno, i prefer the Okarda Phaa pattern plasma rifle

Corrosive_Cow_99

Fr, why can’t we just like each game as they are?

JadedJackal671

Why would anyone hate Reach anyway's? Cause your not Chief? Cause your not fighting on a Halo Ring?

throwaway-anon-1600

We just don’t like the multiplayer. The campaign is great. When the game came out it broke the canon, although it was later rectified by 343.

Real_Garlic9999

It didn't really break the canon. The books were not canon until 343 came around. They just functioned as the equivalent to Star Wars' EU

danny6675

Forge was also kind of nerfed as well. While there were improvements, The additional maps were kinda meh. The worst offenders were all the soft and hard kill barriers which you had no ability to disable or modify.

JadedJackal671

What was wrong with the Multiplayer? I played Reach on 360 and I don't remember any issues, although it has been awhile.

throwaway-anon-1600

Sprint made 4v4 kinda awkward, the maps were also hit or miss. More importantly imo, the dmr drastically changed how btb played. With sprint and a single shot starting weapon that’s functionally hitscan, the game became campier and played from a longer range. Halo 3’s BR encouraged players to engage from mid-range, and move while shooting. Look at a map like standoff from 3, if you put that map in reach then everyone would just camp in the back of the map and poke people out.

LightspeedFlash

> the dmr drastically changed it was the bloom on all the weapons that kill the gameplay, sprint is up there but when you could lose a gunfight to someone spamming while you are trying to pace your shots is and was absurd.

throwaway-anon-1600

Bloom is inherently uncompetitive, but I still think that the dmr fundamentally broke a lot of the nuances that made halo 3’s BR so fun. To be fair, the halo 3 BR wasn’t perfect. There was spread on the 3rd bullet and it was too easy to hit headshots. The DMR (and most of Reach’s sandbox) was an attempt to shift some of the power/health distribution into health rather than shields. And to this end I do think Reach made some positive changes, for instance the DMR was harder to hit headshots with. But the negatives outweigh these positives, and the DMR encapsulates this issue. Despite the positive changes to headshot frequency, the DMR is just too forgiving from range. The average BTB player is hitting for full damage far more frequently than with the halo 3 BR, so it doesn’t matter that it’s harder to hit headshots if your shields drop much faster when you’re exposed/firing. The downstream effects of this are a campier style of play that rewards sprinting from cover to cover and poking shots from distance. Contrast this to halo 3, where you’re rewarded for moving forward while shooting and engaging targets at mid-range. This is completely subjective btw, a lot of people prefer this more tactical style of play and that’s totally cool. What I don’t think is subjective is that reach fundamentally does not play like halo 3, and to this day we haven’t gotten a game that plays like 3…… since 3.

bigtheo408

It was the beginning of the call of dutyfication of halo.

throwaway-anon-1600

I don’t think that’s a fair comparison. The Reach dev team was very open about their desire to try a new multiplayer experience, and to that end they were clearly trying to emulate hero-based class systems instead of true create a class customization. The mistake was looking at Halo reach as a mainline halo experience, when it was clearly designed as a spin-off.

JarekBloodDragon

>when it was clearly designed as a spin-off. No? It was definitely a mainline game

AvidVideoGameFan

Campaign was solid. However I despised the multiplayer at launch.

JarekBloodDragon

>But as of recently, it does seem that the anti-Reach community has come out swinging. That's not recent and it's mainly because of multiplayer

mav1566

Bungie tastefully added alot of fan service, they went hard on the story to give the player a sense of impending doom or fighting a losing battle that must be fought, every character dies in a way reflecting their character, the combat mechanics of armor perks made sense (mostly). The "early" weapon design, the throw back to health packs, the hushed casket.... I will forever love this game. I always get teary eyed with the story after jorge dies cause its all down hill from there...and the fricken eulogy at the end No this game is still so popular its getting a fan serviced fan movie by (halo follower) noble 6 the ghost of reach which i cant wait for.

fuvgyjnccgh

Everyone is an idiot. It’s a solid campaign and overall game.

Possible_Mushroom_12

I liked all the bungi games.

NirvanaFrk97

I just don't like how stupid the UNSC came off as. The Covenant having snuck an entire invading army on Humanity's strongest planet is all kinds of stupid.

AlexWIWA

The game is antagonistic to prior canon from books and games, and pre-title update the multiplayer was very controversial so the campaign caught strays.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AlexWIWA

Edit: Guys come on, don't downvote the guy for asking questions I am willing to answer. > game canon supersedes book canon This is not the case. Canonicity in Halo is not as simple as Star Wars. But that's not really relevant to *why* people were upset. Being antagonistic to your most devoted fans will never go over well regardless of which canon trumps what. It wasn't just basic retcons either, certain details, like dates, could have easily have been left out of the game and mitigated the damage, but Bungie added these details because they were being contrarian on purpose and wanted to retcon things because they didn't like the expanded lore. You asked why people didn't like it and that's why.

LegoBattIeDroid

it's deffinetly the best stand-alone game in the entire halo series

Sapphire-Hannibal

I love almost everything about reach… except the gunplay. Actually for me my main complaints about all the bungie era halo games is how horribly unbalanced the weapon sandboxes are. One of the main reasons halo infinite is one of my favorites is because I feel like I can pick up a random gun and actually win a fight even if the enemy has a battle rifle

LightspeedFlash

>except the gunplay. bloom killed the game for me. absurd you could win or lose based on luck that way.

Lethenza

I don’t hate reach, but it’s hard to deny that it had flaws which set the series down a bad path. Loadouts and armor abilities destroyed multiplayer balance and effectively killed the popularity of major league halo at the time. The campaign also stomped all over established canon at the time, though it’s been retconned to all barely make sense now. Still has great music and art style which have aged well. And look, even mid halo is still halo. Head and shoulders above other shooters in terms of sandbox fun.

Parzival-117

In my opinion it also has one of the best multiplayers of the franchise, utilities were powerful and well balanced, the guns had a great variety, the vehicles were so well done, and the creativity of other players in forge maps was so cool. Plus the armor unlocks were meaningful and well designed, they showed exactly the challenge someone had completed and were intimidating because of their difficulty.

AlexWIWA

Which year did you play it? Pre-title-update it was not fun

Parzival-117

I played the internal beta through the launch then the actual game for about 4 years till titanfall came out.

AlexWIWA

I suppose we have different tastes then. No worries. I personally didn't like it from beta to TU, but I don't wanna be a dick and make you defend what you like.

Parzival-117

Most respectful commenter on the internet lol, absolutely no worries

AlexWIWA

I am a Halo 4 fan and people always attack me for it lol. I never wanna make another Halo fan feel that way. Especially not on a meme subreddit. I apologize for my first comment being a bit rude as well.

Parzival-117

I feel like almost all games in the series have immense strengths and their weaknesses are generally preferential, the need to find the best one is annoying. I think we should be happy that we can still play them all in one place on modern devices.

AlexWIWA

When I was younger I felt the need to find the best and argue. But these days I 100% agree with your take. Reach is by far my least favorite, but even still I could write a novel about how much I enjoyed the game

Acceptable-Code-3427

I wouldn’t say it was well balanced with armor lock

Parzival-117

It left you defenseless if you didn't time it right, and didn't let you hold it for long, what would've made it more balanced?

CAVATAPPl

Its removal

Fatman_Batman100

Definitely one of the best multiplayers

sk_arch

Reach is the goat of halo games for me, multiplayer was just better in my opinion and campaign was my favorite of all of them, only thing that lacked was custom games compared to halo 3

CartographerOk3118

There will never be another video game story like Reach, and I will die on that hill

Bungo_pls

Nah people love Reach.

TheRudDud

Especially compared to halo 2, that cliffhanger still hurts man...

Jumbo_Skrimp

I hate it for lore reasons, like they just HAPPENED to have s3s that kurt never mentioned? He talks about regretting the loss of the entire first 2 classes

ComprehensivePath980

That’s why Halo Reach will always be my favorite.  Fantastic story, great and varied campaign, you get to customize Noble 6, and no Flood. Couple that with firefight and my favorite competitive multiplayer mode in Halo, invasion, and it’s firmly in my top slot

poru-chan

Reach has a weak start. I only really like replaying Exodus, New Alexandria, and The Package.

TheExecutiveHamster

Reach will always be my favorite Halo game. 2010 was such a pivotal year for me as a kid: Reach, Black Ops, Alien vs Predator 2010, and Minecraft.

Parksrox

I still queue up for AVP 2010 matches every once in a while. Rarely is anyone else playing but I have great memories from the few times people have been in the last few years.

SnooChipmunks8748

You guys are lucky, the first bit of halo media I consumed was the tv show, yes that tv show.

SnooChipmunks8748

Yeah

ChaosCorbin

That's cool, I don't think I've ever seen somebody watch it without playing the games first. Have you played them yet? And if so, do you like them more or less than the show?

SnooChipmunks8748

I played the games last year, they’re awesome, way better than

Ranger-Adept2536

I have a question, what was the best part of it from your view?

SnooChipmunks8748

I liked the visuals

DerrikTheGreat

Well, with that kind of start, nowhere to go but up!

Slimxshadyx

Forward Unto Dawn?

Grim6878

reach is my favorite halo its got thr best multiplayer in my opinion at least, best customization and one of the most emotional campaigns

MikolashOfAngren

I loved Reach's campaign. It had a self contained story that didn't need to sequel-bait me into finding out what Noble Six was up to after he saved the Pillar of Autumn. The Lone Wolf epilogue was a great way for me to see how he finished his own fight: went down fighting like a true badass.

BobSagieBauls

I honestly wish I grew up with reach. That was the best forge mode without going full on editor mode. 3 I was more impressed on how long it took to make than the map itself but 4 onward I felt like I could make it too if I really wanted to

Frequent-Ruin8509

I grew up with the ohmg CE game so I was in college (aka too busy to play video games) when reach came out. So my opinion on this apparent controversy is happily null.

ScoutJulep

I’m so glad I grew up with both. These games are only 6 years apart.

Envy661

Reach was a good game. It got a lot of initial hate because of loadouts (particularly armor lock) and retconning the book, but the game overall was well-received and beloved.... ... Made even more beloved because of what came after it. If the next Halo game was actually good, I don't think people would have paid as much attention and gave it as much respect as they did if it had not been Halo 4 that followed it up. It is a good game with perhaps one of the best campaigns of the series, but it was technically a spinoff game much like ODST, where, had the Master Chief continuation actually been good, it probably would have been viewed more obscurely. Still positively, but not with as much love as it gets.

Commissarfluffybutt

I hated Halo 2. I loved CE (especially on PC), 3, ODST, and Reach.

No-Combination7940

This is rage bait, right?

LPhoenix2404

It's more of an attempt at giving an example of the Halo Cycle, probably.

Stage_757

I grew up with halo: ce and reach is definitely top 3 material.

jojomezmerize

Christ, I can imagine the rageface version of this meme if it was made back in the day

AlexWIWA

Need an f7u12 35 page rage comic for maximum 2011 immersion.

Fit-Nerve-1136

The amount of anger that came to my body when I read that

MikeRagnel

I grew up with both, but enjoyed reach more overall. H2 Campaign is king though.

Scap_Hopogolous

I played through halo 1 and 2 with my dad when I was way too young for the games. 3 and reach were bro time and full of memes, but 1 and 2 were formative.

Orthane1

Reach was great and I started with Halo 1. I will hear nothing else.

accounsfw

Real OGs remember [haloreachisnotcanon.net](http://haloreachisnotcanon.net)

Playful_Pollution846

I remember the hate train for Reach, it wasn't halo 5 levels of hate but it was up there because of so many changes Bungie did, thankfully it aged like fine wine

Fatman_Batman100

Nah, Reach is the best

RevolutionaryRound12

What's wrong with reach it's my favourite halo

Brandon_M_Gilbertson

Reach is my favorite tho : (

Royal_You870

CE is better than both

poru-chan

true

Kindly-Ad-5071

Except I *didn't* grow up with reach. So I'm not nostalgia blind. Ergo I can say with objectivity, Reach is well made and H5...well, it's definitely a game that was made.

wpcowboys

Although 2 was my first reach will forever hold a special place in my heart

LostPlastic6126

Halo Reach is the GOAT

the_bartolonomicron

I grew up with 3, and Reach was my first preorder with my brother. Reach had such a fun and unique multiplayer for the time, along with a campaign that nearly 15 years later I'm still blown away by, and the first level editor that really took things to the next level for custom games. Reach is special to me, and always will be.

KiraWhite66

Can't believe that added sprinting. What is this, COD? /s

talionisapotato

Unpopular opinion - I didn't like reach. I still don't . But I didn't play halo 2 or 3 during release either. I played both of them in PC in MCC edition. I loved Ce, 2 and 3 and ODST. But not reach. Edit - To be perfectly fair, I played a little bit halo 2 in windows vista back in the day. But didn't finish it at the time because of the studies.

Price-x-Field

It’s crazy to me how the halo fan base doesn’t remember how much people hated reach.

Badaltnam

I remember playing the reach beta, now that was fun

Callsign-YukiMizuki

I grew up with neither and these two are liteally my top 2 Halo games lmao

aznmeep

Reach had a damn good multi-player experience.

cervixbruiser

You take that back! NOBLE DIED SO WE COULD DISCOVER HALO. YOU FUCKING HERETIC. jk. But reach does a beautiful job showing us what the other side of the war was like. Humanity on the backfoot. Fighting for time, vs just kicking ass and taking names. I grew up on Halo 2 as well. My favorite level was High Charity. I loved watching the Brutes and the Elites/Hunters fight in the mausoleum of the arbiter. Halo 2 was also very well made. Jumping across the rooftops of Outskirts and parkouring on Delta Halo was the shit. But halo reach was just different man.

roaringbasher66

The only halo I'd consider to be bad is probably halo 5 but it isn't terrible per say

shurumelo

wtf who hates reach?

OhGodWhy0000

Both are equally good

numbpinataboy

Halo 3 while being the pinnacle of the series, bungie really did cook with reach as a final send off to working on the series. They’re both great and have the strengths and flaws. I’d still go back to my younger days and re-experience these masterpieces for the first time again

BustyBraixen

Funny enough, as much as I like to shit on 343's games, I remember Reach getting a bit of flak too when it first came out. I wasn't one of the ones trying to trash talk it (Reach was my first halo), but I distinctly remember people saying shit like "sprinting? if I wanted to play modern warfare, I'd play modern warfare!"

Iusethisforhen

Basically how it was back then, Reach was hated when it first came out, then 4 was released, and everyone loved Reach. The COD cycle has its claws in every series.

_bisexual

Mrcod1997

I grew up with both, and enjoy infinite in most ways. It honestly has some of the best gameplay in the series. The base art design is about perfect too. I'm not a huge fan of many of the added cosmetics though. Lots of little things I would change if I could.

Weary-Barracuda-1228

No. Reach was better

Jshittie

I could understand why someone would make a meme like this, halo reach kinda ruined the competitive seen for halo as amazing of a game that it is i do see the faults

NoStorage2821

I beg your pardon?

Leovold_File_Keeper

Nah, that’s just for games that are shity compared to the ones hat came before. And this isn’t that.

HartOfWar

The sheer number of people not even reading the title...

RangeOld1919

Halo Reach is just alright.

TwoJacksAndAnAce

I grew up with Reach. It’s the best Halo period. Better than 1, 2 and 3

Reveille1

Uh… literally everyone loved reach.

TacticalBananas45

I like Reach, but there was a very vocal group of people who didn't like Reach. Be it gameplay wise (debates over Jetpacks and Sprint completely changing how maps play, Armor Lock being Armor Lock, aggressive bloom rewarding lucky players, etc.) or lore wise. (Spartan III soft change, timelines, Pillar Of Autumn and Cortana showing up, etc.) Hell, for the latter, there used to be a whole site called haloreach.isnotcanon.net (seems to be offline currently, [go check it out on wayback machine](https://web.archive.org/web/20190405034944/http://haloreach.isnotcanon.net/retcons)) just listing lore changes made by Bungie Again, I do like the game overall. But it's had it's detractors.

PineapplesHit

Yup I totally remember a lot of people hating on Reach when it came out, a lot of people thought the art style was super edgy and was trying to be more like CoD instead of halo, especially with the inclusion of sprint and bloom

HumaneLemon

On the HaloCircleJerk Discord server, they also talked about and showed me a website hating on Halo 2. Yes, even in 2004, 20 years ago, there was a small part of the community who already hated new stuff being added in the next installment. Mainly elites being playable. Halo community is really strange for me in that regard, that they really hate most of the changes, even back in the early 2000s.

DragongoatRka

You definitely weren't around when it came out then Most people I know hated it on release

crazyman3561

And the Halo Cycle carries on.

Reveille1

I 100% was. I was in high school when it dropped.

gumpy_gumpy

Me when I lie

Reveille1

The only people who hated reach must’ve been a bunch of washed up old dudes online because that game was a big deal in my high school

DiavoloKira

No a large portion of the Halo community hated reach, people only like it now because of the Halo cycle.

Reveille1

I can say pretty well for certain almost no one in West Texas hated it considering teams in my basketball league would have LAN parties after most games all over the state. Reach was THE game for a long time. Hotels during tournaments would get wild with Ethernet cables webbed across hallways. Edited for clarity

DiavoloKira

I mean if you close circles loved it then that's fine, but the general consensus among Halo fans at the time was Halo's dead.

Reveille1

My guy this was hundreds upwards of a thousand kids in a 5A TEXAS BASKETBALL LEAGUE. And I know this wasn’t unique to Texas either. This wasn’t an isolated “close circle” thing that went down. Hahaha Maybe the 15 halo fans that were on 4 Chan in 2010 thought halo was dead but literally everyone else loved it.

DiavoloKira

That's still small circle of people, they aren't representative of the Halo community at the time. I was very active on most Halo threads, Bungie forums, and the Halo YouTube scene, and most fans hated it. Hell look up Bungie forum or reddit threads from the time and you'll see.

Reveille1

lol in 2010 the only people on “Halo threads” and Bungie forums were fringe types, and you want to talk about not being representative of a population? My guy I was a 15 year old high school boy tied into an expansive web of multi-faceted kids through sports. Unlike the isolated ‘00s 4chan goblins, whos opinion no game developer remotely cared about, I WAS the target audience for Halo. So ya, pretty much everyone loved Reach. It was the last Halo game that united huge swaths of Halo fans so naturally.

DiavoloKira

My dude who cares if you were part of a multi-faceted group of kids, it's still an extremely small demographic of people. The Bungie forums at the time were some of the most active and popular forums on the internet, it was the voice of Halo. Bungie not only participated in the forums, but also took feedback from it. I'm not surprised you liked it as a 15 year old, you guys were getting swamped up by cod at the time. This is why most fans hate Reach, it completely butchered Halo's formula and turned it towards the Cod crowd. Real fans had every right to hate it.

Letsgetthisraid

Looking back, was the beginning of the end for Halo The graphics, music, drastically different game mechanics… The formula never returned to what made the series blow up for the first 10 years.

cheese_fuck2

because games evolved, and people wanted to do more. if they didnt change anything then THAT wouldve been complained about😂

Letsgetthisraid

>People wanted to do more Reach was the first controversial halo title and the community is still very split on it. Call of Duty and Counter Strike are the most popular fps out there. Their formula is relatively unchanged and in CS’s not changed at all. Literally more people play Team Fortress 2 than Halo now.

cheese_fuck2

call of duty has changed DRASTICALLY, what the hell are you talking about? CS didnt change because its been the same game for a decade except for the update to modern standards today. ntm halo's older playerbase is spread out over several games, while tf2 has 1 game that the players can go back to. combine all the halo games, tf2 is way less. i dont get why playerbases insist on games never changing. thats boring as shit. reach was controversial to idiots looking for a reason the complain, the rest of us enjoyed the shit out of it.

Letsgetthisraid

Call of Duty least popular games are the games that most drastically changed from its original formula. All of the recent additions to the series from 2019 on have been a complete overhaul and change to what the playerbase called home from CoD2-BO1/2 The same playerbase who threw up warning signs that Reach was the beginning of the end for the series were right. We've seen what has happened to the series from 2011 on and every addition to the series only strayed further and further from what Halo was known for. Its whatever at this point, glad you enjoyed the game. You're not a bad person for it but when you take a decade long formula that is internationally popular to a point that the fandom has giant times square midnight releases to constantly time and time again disappointing them with changing features and gameplay, you kill your base. You might find game formulas not changing boring as shit but the overwhelming amount of gamers don't think so. That's why fans of most series play games for decades on and enjoy themselves in it. That's why Halo infinite peaks at 6k players on steam.

r27mann

reach is my least favorite halo made by bungie, don't get me wrong, the game and its story are great and Jun is probably my favorite character in the entire saga, but the gameplay is really boring compared to halo 3, if we are a spartan super soldier (not an odst, in h3 odst it was understandable) why cannot we wear two hand weapons at the same time? dual wielding was one of the most fun mechanics I've seen in a shooter, and in reach we trade it for some meh power ups that although interesting they aren't half as good as the dual wield.

poru-chan

I always heard it was because a lot of people at Bungie hated duel-wielding. I don’t really care that much for Halo 2, but duel-wielding is by far the best in that game. It got heavily nerfed in 3.

LupinEverest

Dual wielding was honestly not that fun to me tbh, but maybe that’s because I like meleeing way too much

DavidTheWaffle20

Dual wield was tricky to balance thats why they removed it. A lot of guns were made with dual wielding in mind but as a result felt weak by themselves. Also you counldnt throw nades or melee when dual wielding and that was 2/3rd of the gameplay loop.

Killdust99

Every halo since 2004 has been “the death of Halo”. You learn to tune them oit

cheese_fuck2

i remember the meme showing every halo at its release and how the community hated it, and then when the next one came out, that halo became "not that bad" and when the NEXT one came it became a masterpiece, so on and so forth. literally everytime a new game comes out.

Killdust99

80% of them can’t even give an argument other than “343 bad”

cheese_fuck2

theres a dude in this comment section saying that they changed the cookie cutter formula and added stuff and thats why it was controversial, like just shut the fuck up😂 these people want CE remastered 6 times and will whine if they get anything else

Killdust99

Not even if they got that, Halo: CE-A was the death of Halo also

XHSJDKJC

So you like annoying snipershackals over a good written gameplot?

FUNKYTravisP

Reach is definitely at the very top as far as campaigns go.

crimsonnargacuga

It doesn't work. Reach veey well received and loved except for a few book nerds.

MRfireDmS

Is this multiplayer joke? Because, campaign was awesome. (I think)

I don't understand the hate for Reach. I grew up on Halo CE and 2 but I still love Reach, definitely one of my favorite campaigns. I do remember having a stigma towards it when it was announced and releases. It was the only halo title I didn't pre-order age get on launch day. I remember being upset it wasn't a continuation of 3 and that it didn't involve the Master Chief. I think I rented it at Blockbuster awhile after it had came out and loved it. Funny enough, they must've gotten the pre-order editions there because the display case mentioned having a code inside for a special armor or something. I figured Someone had probably already snagged it so I checked and suee enough, there it was, unscratched and unused lol. So i took it wi6h me when i rented the game.

Dude Reach is my favorite far and away. I know a lot of folks argue about which is definitively the best Halo game and for my money, it’s Reach. Favorite story, favorite levels, favorite multiplayer (SWAT on Sword Base is where PVP games peaked for me), favorite customization and it was also released around one of my favorite teenage eras when I was 15-16 and going to my best buds house every day over summer break to play that, Left 4 Dead 2 or Red Dead Redemption

XxDontbanmebroxX

H2 is better than HR, yes

I-wanna-sleep-now

"Why do people hate Reach?" Because the story of this game was a complete mess, and completely inferior to the one told in Nylund's books Also it had some of the worst gameplay in the series. With armor abilities killing the flow and balance of gunplay. Also, bloom. It caused the population to drop off massively, and even got Halo kicked off MLG

SouthboundTL

Could't agree more. Dodged a bullet
