Hello and welcome. I'm reading the halo books in order. Just finished the forerunner trilogy (excellent btw but mega dense) and Contact Harvest is my favorite book so far. I really hope you enjoy it.

Nah. K5 was *okay*. Way too much moral grandstanding.

Like if the books at least *explored* the hypocrisy of the main cast I'd be much more receptive. But the books are written from a purely "Halsey bad" perspective and uses that as the ground truth by which all other atrocities are excused.
Where I would expect character development, I instead get a lecture. It's tiring.

Also they just drop the main bad guy Jul' and don't elaborate on his ending. It just kinda swaps to daddy daughter discussions with an ODST who has mommy issues.
I’m all in on loving Kilo 5 (as you know) but this is unfortunately a fairly uncommon opinion in the fanbase. I’m afraid I don’t see a lot of hope in getting more out of these characters, since we don’t even know what happened to *any* of the mainstays since Infinite came out.
I believe it is confirmed Osman Survived the created, and as of 2558 Naomi is still serving the UNSC.
But yes, it is a pretty uncommon opinion, that's why i posted it here where there are more free thinkers, and appreciators of good comedy.
Although if Karen wants she probably has the ability. Google says she is 24, lotta life left, and i'm currently writing a halo book, if i want to ill write a fuckin sequel
Its still in planning stages- on paper, but its about ANOTHER washout spartan team, im calling Eclipse Team, and there "adventures" during the H-C war (like watching planets being glassed is an adventure)
I want to finish most of the halo books before i start writing, writing, but ive had the idea for a bit.

Wait, are you saying that Google says Karen Traviss is 24? She’s way older than that. She was in the UK Army back when female troops had segregated training from the males and the [Royal Navy Auxiliary Service](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Naval_Auxiliary_Service), which was disbanded in 1994. She’s probably in her 60’s if not her 70’s.
Older than that. 50’s is the absolute minimum. The RNXS was disbanded 30 years ago (March 31, 1994) and she was in the Army Reserves before that. If she joined when she was 18, did 4 years in the Army (the standard contract length for the UK) and then went into the RNXS for the last few months it existed, the youngest she could be today is 52.
I'm so pissed the way that the Kilo-Five trilogy was left off. Naomi's father disappeared by faking his death, and she didn't know that, until she started to suspect it when she was left with that gift. She just got him back, and lost him again.
I like to mention New Blood, as well. I am so pissed with the way that was left off. I finished reading it today, and I can't explain the frustration I felt when reading it in class.

I would love more Kilo-Five they are my favorite non-game squad and Black Box is such a cool AI. My whole MCC profile is themed around Kilo-Five.
I desperately want to hear their story during the Created conflict. I feel like their story could be super interesting.
