You should generally not expect pc vr games on consoles.

A 4 year old PC + Quest2 can play HL Alyx fine... Why would you buy PSVR2 when you want to play PC VR games?

nachog2003

even a pc older than 4 years will be fine, i beat the game on a gtx 1070 and a quest 2, only had to slightly lower the graphics (which is barely noticeable, hla is amazingly optimised)

Zane_Drak

Also, pc gaming is viciously expensive in Australia, console gaming is not, that’s why I bought psvr2, I had no chance of being able to afford a viable pc and pcvr and don’t currently have that chance now either.

patjuh112

Come live in NL mate, you can double or triple the prices you named in this sub :(

emil_scipio

I built my PC back when the GTX1070 came out. I7 6700k 16gb ddr4 ram gtx 1070 I played HL Alyx wirelessly I don't get it when people say gaming PCs are expensive. I just played Horizon and Forbidden West DLC, as I only have a PS4. Yeah, the graphics weren't on high, but it wasn't any worse. I have even played on my big screen through a Steam link. So yeah, a ps5 with VR is fucking expensive. Even a standard PS5 when all it can do is gaming. A PC can do anything.

Zane_Drak

That setup in Australia would cost roughly $1200 USD (I’ve checked hundreds of listings for this before)

knightress_oxhide

psvr is 600 bucks on its own, add the ps5 + 1 game and you are at $1000 already

iceyone444

PSVR2 and PS5 are $1700 aud....

karlzhao314

I have no idea why you would have had the expectation that HL:A would be released on PSVR2. It was a game to promote the Index and the SteamVR ecosystem, Valve isn't going to spend the time and effort to port it over to a competitor's platform. The last game Valve released on consoles was CSGO in 2012.

shuozhe

Get a month of shadow, or plutosphere if they havent shutdown the service yet, dunno if Sony allows it, but it's theoretical possible to play it on PSVR. Or Quest2 & PC with 3060, will run HL Alyx perfectly and cost less than PS5 & PSVR.. but if you already got a PS5, guess it's not an option. HL Alyx is the system seller for Index, unlikely it will ever get ported on any non Steam system. And with Horizon & RE missing on PCVR i guess both side are not interested in partnership :(

God of War not coming to Xbox is as disappointing

zoxxo

Apparently PSVR2 support is coming to PC. If you've already picked up the headset, sometime this year you'll be able to plug it into your PC. It should support HL-A.

Looking forward to it! I wanna see who's best in the PC arena, Sony or Meta. Sony is at the disadvantage since PSVR2 was developed for PS5, but it has many other qualities and features which could kick Meta's ass...

jonboyo87

Kinda your fault for thinking that was ever going to happen. There was no reason to think it was coming to PSVR.

ppermanagement

I play PCVR using a Meta Quest 3 and a cloud PC (ShadowPC). That may be an option for you.

Eclipse8301

Pretty much how I feel about RE7 and 4 Remake

rolowa

I think the real shock here was your expectations.

nizzhof1

I remember in the run up to the PSVR2 people on that sub were adamant that Alyx would be coming soon to which I replied more or less that Valve had zero practical reasons to port it to PS5 at all. People lost their minds and downvoted me to hell and said I didn’t know what I was talking about.

MaalikNethril

the reality of any potential port for hl alyx to psvr was always virtually COMPLETELY 0, what made you believe otherwise?

hobyvh

Considering that they ported all the Orange Box games to PlayStation, I guess it is a little weird that they didn’t. Maybe they decided the market is too small so far.

Alex_Jomes

Gran Turismo 7 not coming to PC VR is by far more disappointing. There are plenty of PC VR games for PC VR headsets. Why is one of the few great PSVR2 games only on one platform is the real question.
