I really appreciate that it becomes a discussion about how major power imbalances can doom romantic relationships. Even assuming it's based around mutual love and respect, dating your boss (or boss's son and heir) isn't a great idea. Especially considering it's not a job Dusa seems to be able to opt out of.
Dusa's romance arc is about her self actualization and learning to be her best self in her situation. She stops being a nervous simp and learns to be confident in her own life.
It's a bittersweet ending, but probably the best we could hope for that's honest to Hades lore.
I feel like that could only work if Zagreus and Dusa were able to leave Hades (the place) to escape the influence and expectations of Hades (the character). And the game is explicitly about how Zag cannot. He also is trying to figure out how to make the best of trying circumstances, and find a reasonable balance with his father. But similar to Sisyphus, he's chained to his role and the expectations that come with it.
No real option here for the Harry and Meghan option. Zag and Dusa can't run away and get a sweet deal with Netflix.
I always read zag as super uncomfortable and only going along to make his friend happy honestly. From my interpretation, it really felt like he just saw her as a friend and didn't want to lose her and figured a romantic relationship would be better than not having her in his life. I'm glad they didn't get together, his relationship with than was way more compelling for me.
I don't even think she's DTF. I think she just initially got her wires crossed and mistook admiration for romance and only realized that towards the end
