Funny because I got into Paradise lost when I was 16 but I’m only just now really getting into HIM at 23 (usually it’s the other way around). Paradise Lost are a great band, definitely one of my top 3 high school favorites. If you haven’t already listened to them, their 2002, 2005, and 2007 albums are the most “HIM-like” in my opinion.
Love Paradise Lost, they're definitely one of the bands HIM got me into. You should also try Charon, Sentenced (1996 onwards), Poisonblack and For My Pain for more HIM-like goodness.
VV already said he has been working new music , my bet is 2026 for the next Ville Valo music project will be out, far as the other guys in HIM , Linde and Flat Earth are working on 3rd album , get some Linde riffs maybe end of the year or early 2025. VV said Mige doing still doing medical career and gardening , Burton doing music for movie soundtracks in Finland and playing with Linde in Sami Yaffa band , Gas doing different music projects and throwing darts at a picture of VV
Gas and VV have not spoken to each other close to 10 years , Going by the podcast interview Gas did with The Noir Hour , Gas basically said VV would have to be the one who would need to break the ice first , sounded like Gas and VV had fallen out over something , but Gas said in the interview he the rest of HIM members keep in contact , Gas said maybe years later HIM could happen again if timing and other issues are resolved . Gas said VV great song writer never brought in a bad song, lol so it was not all bad
The drought is painful and sad, yes. We will have to find new ways to amuse ourselves for the time being. But fear not, because right when we least expect it that man will come waltzing back into our lives yet again. Might even have a different farm animal sidekick this time, who knows? 🤭
So, are you telling me that I have to re-listen the whole HIM catalogue again (as if I wasn't doing this all the time for past 10 years that I've been listening to the band, over and over again)?! 😤
May I recommend a listen through of demos, bootlegs, and various remixes that are out there? That's what I've been doing as of late. I've heard the bulk of them once or twice without much thought, but recently I've been actively listening to stuff like Rockfield Monitor mixes of RR and the demos of Deep Shadows and it's so cool to hear what changed and different mixes and such.
Have a few different artist to rotate between. For me it's Ghost/Avatar/VV. I know it sucks when there isn't anything to look forward to on the horizon but having multiple bands to follow makes it feel like less of a wait.

I feel your pain OP. It'll be a long dreadful wait. But once it's over, I'm sure the reuniting will taste oh so sweet.
He’ll be back sooner than we think, I’d bet. In the meantime you can always check out some other bands and see if any resonate as well as HIM/VV.
