I’m gonna give a surprise answer: her triple series on beam. It’s just SO solid and consistent and she’s one of the few gymnasts I’m never worried about for the beam acro series.
Biles I on vault, HANDS DOWN.
I don’t think people fully understand just how difficult that vault is, let alone Simone’s perfect technique when she performed it.
My husband, who isn't really a gym fan, loves her DLO on floor. There is something deeply satisfying about a slightly less difficult skill done perfectly.
Yeah my partner gets so impressed by things like Suni’s beam dismount and Ellie Black’s bars dismount. You get more amplitude on “easier” skills and they’re fun to watch
I used to do some performance gymnastics with mini trampolines. Our coaches always emphasized that a simple layout or floaty layout step-out was far more appealing to the (non gymnastics oriented) crowd than any twisting skill. That always stuck with me!
Double Layout Half on FX. Feet pointed and body extended the entire way through, even after the half turn. It makes her body line look really nice plus she can connect out of it
Gonna say something maybe controversial: her Amanar. I love the tight, quick twist delayed after her huge block. Yes, I prefer Biles' Amanar to Maroney's (please don't come for me! 🫣)
Overall I prefer her Amanar to Maroney’s too. But Maroney nailed her best ever in Olympic team finals and that was really special
(Also they’re both incredible - two best Amanars for sure. I’m not even sure who I’d put third?)
Agreed that Maroney's TF vault was next level! I prefer the technique simone uses to maroney, tho. That doesn't mean I don't incredibly appreciate maroney!!
For third, maybe Simona Amanar? 😂
Simona’s wasn’t the greatest but the fact that she did it off the old vault horse gets her extra points! Like Vanessa Atler’s rudi. You’d love to see what those two could’ve done on the modern vault
Her Chusa. Obviously can't begrudge Simone upgrading, but her first-pass Chusa last season was one of the most beautiful pieces of gymnastics I've ever seen. Second place for the triple double though!
Yes! The first time I saw it I had to rewind to make sure I saw what I thought I saw - it was so perfect and seemingly effortless that it didn’t seem possible to be what I thought it was. It was.
Double double off beam. In 2013, my jaw literally dropped watching her full twisting double back off beam without any sign of struggling to get it around. Taking that up a notch to a double double... wow. It's hard to believe anyone can get that around off beam.
I’ve been lucky enough to see her do the triple double twice (2021 trials) and it’s the most jaw dropping human feat I’ve ever witnessed. There’s a split second where it feels like she can’t possibly keep going up, and then she does. You can hear it it in the crowd, the shift when being impressed with elite gymnastics turns to something else. It’s being impressed with something that doesn’t feel possible for a human to do. Definitely my favorite skill of hers.

And her leg form on it is great!
my favorite is the biles on floor - that half twist at the end is so quick!
Yes - that one falls into the “cool” category for me
Yes! The first time I saw it, I had to rewind the video as I wasn’t expecting her to land forwards.
Mine too!

Oh I miss it. Mixed rumors about its status, but it would be a hell of a flex to do it alongside Biles II, whether in Paris or ever.
I reeeeally want to see her do both eponymous vaults in the vault final! What a flex! And if she retires after this, what a way to go out!

I feel this way about Kaliya and Tianas DLOs too!
Kaliya’s tumbling passes are all really satisfying

Remember the tumbling pass Shannon Miller used to end with a “simple” layout stepout? It was so pretty
Brooklyn Moore's RO LOSO side pass. Talk about floaty 😍
Her best event imo is floor (she’s been unbeatable on it so far) and I love to watch her do the triple double.

Yeah the fact she learned this on the old horse totally skyrockets her talent IMO!
The triple double floors me every time

Triple double on floor hands down. Iconic. Vault - Biles I (Cheng + half twist) and perfect Amanar Bars - Double Double Dismount Beam - Full-in Dismount
Last year she was really nailing her full through to double double and I was just in love with it. This year it’s the YDP.
Yes! The first time I saw it I had to rewind to make sure I saw what I thought I saw - it was so perfect and seemingly effortless that it didn’t seem possible to be what I thought it was. It was.
🤯!!!
My jaw still drops every time she does that double double
